Nach über 12 Jahren erscheint nun endlich das lang ersehnte neue Studioalbum der Band Einstürzende Neubauten ALLES IN ALLEM. Das Album markiert die Quintessenz ihres Schaffens und es öffnet sich wieder eine unerwartete Tür der mittlerweile 40 Jahre dauernden Klangexperimente des Forschungsteams um Blixa Bargeld. Wie kaum eine andere Band haben sie es geschafft einen eigenen musikalischen Kosmos zu erschaffen, ja sogar ein eigenes Genre zu kreieren, das sowohl klangliche Härte als auch ausgefeilte Poesie auf einzigartige Weise vereint. Passenderweise im Jahr der Ratte, gemäß Chinesischem Horoskop dem Symbol für Einfallsreichtum und Vielseitigkeit, ruht sich die Band nicht auf dem nunmehr vier Dekaden umfassenden Werk aus, sondern agiert zukunftsgewandt und erforscht weiterhin neugierig und mit grenzenloser Spielfreude alles, was das Klang-Universum hergibt. In den einzigartigen Klang- und Textlandschaften der 1980 in Berlin gegründeten Gruppe offenbart sich so jene Zeitlosigkeit, die sich Blixa Bargeld, N.U. Unruh, Alexander Hacke, Jochen Arbeit und Rudi Moser stets erhalten haben: Durch ihre experimentellen Herangehensweisen ans Songwriting, die in vier Jahrzehnten entwickelten Instrumente und das kollektive Arbeiten klingt die Band in ihrer eigenen Zeitrechnung auffallend gegenwärtig. Ja, die Einstürzenden Neubauten scheinen mit ihrer einzigartigen Musik stets äußerst präzise im jeweiligen Jetzt zu walten, ob im Industrial der Frühphase, den treibenden 90er-Jahren oder dem bedachten Spätwerk. Die Verse "Wir hatten tausend Ideen / Und alle waren gut" aus dem Albumtrack "Am Landwehrkanal" könnten durchaus eine Selbstbeschreibung der Band sein. So ist eine besondere Platte entstanden: ALLES IN ALLEM das erste reguläre Studioalbum der Einstürzenden Neubauten seit 12 Jahren, zeigt eine unvergleichbare Band, die ihre eigene Kategorie bildet, ihr eigenes Genre stiftet. Neben der CD und LP wird es auch ein limitiertes Deluxe Boxset geben. Dieses beinhaltet neben der CD und LP eine CD mit Bild-Tonaufnahmen aus dem Studio, welche die Entwicklung sowie Fortschritte der einzelnen Stücke festhalten. Einige Stücke sind ungeschliffen, aber schon fast fertig und andere noch in der experimentellen Findungsphase. Eine kleine Dokumentation der Entstehung des Albums. Abgesehen davon beinhaltet die Box ein 164-seitiges Buch mit allen handschriftlichen Aufzeichnungen von Blixa Bargeld hinsichtlich der Entstehung der Liedtexte sowie Essays von einigen Supportern.

Das wohl wichtigste britische Duo dieser Zeit kehrt in den zwischenzeitlich verlassenen Heimathafen Rough Trade Records zurück und bittet nach dem Appetithäppchen English Tapas ohne Umschweife ans Buffet! Denn mit dem am 15. Mai erscheinenden All That Glue tischen Jason Williamson und Andrew Robert Lindsay Fearn ein wütendes Potpourri an Songs aus den letzten 7 Jahren ihres Schaffens auf - und halten damit wieder mal der gehobenen britischen Gesellschaft sowohl den Spiegel als auch den Mittelfinger entgegen. We call it: 22 Banger für ein Halleluja! Genauer: Langjährige Favoriten, B-Seiten, unveröffentlichte Tracks und Raritäten - alles natürlich handverlesen von der Band! In den späten neunziger Jahren war Wien Welthauptstadt der elektronischen Musik - Namen wie Kruder & Dorfmeister, Pulsinger & Tunakan, Waldeck, Electric Indigo oder Fennesz künden davon. Danach kam lange Zeit nichts, bis eine neue Generation - von HVOB bis Parov Stelar, von Dorian Concept bis Elektro Guzzi - sehr nachdrücklich eigene markante Sound- und Leuchtspuren setzte. Und nun kündigt sich abermals ein Zeitsprung an.
Zu große Töne gespuckt? Nein. Selbst Christian Fennesz zieht schon den Hut. Vor Drahthaus. Einer Band, die eigentlich keine Band ist. Noch nicht einmal eines der vielen Projekte, die immer und überall rasch entstehen und noch rascher wieder vergehen. Hier ist etwas radikal anderes im Kommen. Das 2015 gegründete Kollektiv Drahthaus ist ein Zusammenschluss diverser in Wien lebender Kreativer (Musiker, Künstler, Designer, Filmemacher, Techniker, Programmierer, Handwerker, Veranstalter und Kreativer jeglichen Geschlechts) mit der Vision, alte Strukturen in Frage zu stellen. Und Raum für gänzlich Neues zu schaffen.
Die Faktoren Lust, Neugier, Fachwissen und künstlerische Vernetzung sind mit im Spiel. Auch wenn Drahthaus den anarchischen Freiraum der Kunst mit präzisen, systematischen, analytischen Fragestellungen vermessen. Im April erscheint das erste Album - es trägt keinen Titel. Aber es wird die Elektroniksphäre aus den Angeln heben. Lokal, national, international. Willkommen im Drahthaus.

Amsterdam might be susceptible to grey skies and rain as any other, but cup your ear to the music flowing out of the Dutch capital, and another story emerges. The Mauskovic Dance Band are a prime example of an act who have been dialing up the sunshine over the river Amstel in recent years.On Shadance Hall, their first release of 2020, they concoct a tantalising brew of no-wave, psych rock, cumbia, power dub and numerous other colourful shades of global grooves.

No stranger to Dekmantel as one of half of electro-grouping Bruxas, Nicola Mauskovic leads his percussive troupe through a heavy, trippy, disco fiesta with this, their first debut on Dekmantel Records.
The Mauskovic Dance Band’s epic sonic journey on Shadance Hall began deep in the Welsh valleys. Partnering dusty drum machines alongside phat layers of congas, assorted bric-a-brac of percussive tools, and distortion-soaked guitars, Mauskovic’s ensemble suspend the tempo and turn up the grooves. on this soundsystem-inspired, post-punk odyssey. The resulting soundsystem-inspired concoctions are a mixture of 130bpmbeats (‘Ventura Phase’), Jah Wobble-influenced bass rhythms (‘Squeeze Dogs’) and Carnival-ready soca-jams (‘Theorie Amerikaan’).

Taken back to Amsterdam’s famed Electric Monkey Studio (a favourite for Ghanian great Ebo Taylor and Dutch youngbloods Jungle By Night alike, Mauskovic teamed up with engineer Kasper Frenkel to mix down the record. Here the two acted as Mad Professors, experimenting with the recordings and making multiple versions of each track by creating tape loops, bouncing the audio back and forth and layering the resulting recordings in waves of reverb and echo. In classic dub style, the band ended up with dub edits, rich in space echo, reverb, crush, and dub-goodness, completing the second half of Shadance Hall like a funky palindrome. It rounds off an expressive EP steeped in musical history, bursting with inventiveness, projected at the listener as a maze of influences to get lost within.

Auch das neue Album wurde von Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, MGMT, Tame Impala) koproduziert und gemixt und setzt die Reise der Lovely Eggs durch Eggland ins Unbekannte fort. Sie sind zweifellos die echteste Band Großbritanniens, die in einer Welt agiert, in der wahre Authentizität schwer zu finden ist. "I Am Moron" wurde von der Band selbst in Lancaster ("The Twin Peaks of Northern England") in den Räumen der Lancaster Musicians Co-op aufgenommen. Die Heavyness von "This Is Eggland" wird auf "I Am Moron" fortgesetzt. Das Album bringt mehr Tiefe in ihren Sound durch eine Mischung aus heftigem Psych-Pop und einer Prise Seltsamkeit.

Seit einiger Zeit arbeitet die deutsch-brasilianische Künstlerin Gloria Endres de Oliveira, die auch als Filmemacherin (Musikvideos, Kurzfilme) und Schauspielerin (u.a."Babylon Berlin", "Die Pfeiler Der Macht", "Counterpart" und aktuell in Christian Petzolds "Undine" (Berlinale 2020)) aktiv ist, an der Verwirklichung ihrer musikalischen Vision. Zuerst gemeinsam mit spampoets im Duo Lovespells, seit letztem Jahr als Solo-Artist GLORIA DE OLIVEIRA. Nach Auftritten beim Further Festival und der c/o pop veröffentlichte sie in der zweiten Jahreshälfte 2019 die beiden EPs "La Rose De Fer" und "Lèvres De Sang" auf ihrem eigenen Label La Double Vie. Abgemischt im Hamburger Studio Cloud Hills Recordings, definieren sie Gloria de Oliveiras betörendes Soundspektrum zwischen Dreamwave, Ethereal und Goth Pop. Nun veröffentlicht das Kölner Label REPTILE MUSIC die Compilation der beiden EPs als "Fascination" (sprich Französich fa·si·na·syon) erstmals auf Vinyl und CD. Die LP beinhaltet die 10 original Songs der beiden EPs remastered und in neuer Reihenfolge, die 17-Track-CD-Version sowie das Digitale Album kommen mit zusätzlichen sieben Remixen von u.a.Gudrun Gut (u.a. Malaria, Monika Enterprises, Greie Gut Fraktion) Box And The Twins, Fragrance., Tellavision und The Wide Eye. Unterstützt wird die intime Atmosphäre ihrer Songs dabei durch eine entsprechende Visualisierung in bisher größtenteils selbstproduzierten Videos. Zur Vorabsingle "The Only Witness" erlaubt ab Anfang März der von der Hamburger Regisseurin Julia Ritschel aufwändig produzierte Videoclip einen weiteren faszinierenden Einblick in Gloria de Oliveiras universelles Kunst- und Klanguniversum. Parallel dazu wird GLORIA DE OLIVEIRA Ende März das US-Duo TEMPERS (DAIS/Secretly) bei fünf Konzerten ihrer anstehenden Deutschlandtour begleiten. Nach mehr als fünf Jahren sind Purity Ring zurückgekehrt, um ihr drittes Album anzukündigen. WOMB wurde vollständig vom Duo Megan James und Corin Roddick produziert und aufgenommen und wird am 3. April über 4AD veröffentlicht. Das neue Purity Ring-Album ist dabei eine Chronik der Suche nach Trost, der Suche nach einem Ruheplatz in einer Welt, in der so vieles außerhalb unserer Kontrolle liegt. Die auffallende Verletzlichkeit des Openers "rubyinsides" zeichnet einen Weg auf, der sowohl sehr persönlich als auch tief mit den uns nahestehenden Menschen verbunden ist - unseren Verwandten, ob sie nun von Natur aus oder aus dem Umfeld kommen. Während sich der Boden unter ihren Füßen verschiebt, helfen sich die Figuren auf dem Album gegenseitig, dem Tod, der Verzweiflung und anderen Veränderungen mit Widerstandskraft und Anmut zu begegnen. Die Suche gipfelt in "stardew", einer glitzernden, transzendenten Einladung, "einfach da zu sein, wo du bist" - die Art von kraftvollem Frieden zu erleben, die nur durch ein wirkliches Heimkommen gefunden werden kann. WOMB folgt auf das international gefeierte und höchst einflussreiche Debüt von Purity Ring im Jahr 2012 und Another Eternity im Jahr 2015. Damals lobte die New York Times die Songs als "nur wenige Schritte von den Radiohits von Sängerinnen wie Ariana Grande und Ellie Goulding entfernt", während Rolling Stone sie als "glänzenden Synthie-Pop plus kavernösem Hip-Hop" bezeichnete, und der New Yorker lobte das Duo für "kreativen Elektro-Pop, der ebenso warm und menschlich wie kalt und fremd ist, eine berauschende Kombination, die sich kühn futuristisch anfühlt".

Das dritte, vielleicht beste Album von Captain Planet aus Hamburg, ursprünglich erschienen im Jahr 2012. Hier gibt es 11 eindringliche Emo-Punk Hits zu hören, all killer no filler. Endlich wieder auf Vinyl erhältlich! Kommt im Gatefold Cover, auf schwarz/weiss marmoriertem Vinyl und ist limitiert auf 500 Exemplare.

The third in the releases where label favourites are represented for today and backed with a remix / version by a contemporary producer of repute, presents 80s leftfield pop-rock band In Embrace. Appearing here are two versions of The Living Daylights, the original long version and a re-recorded live take, plus additional versions by Timothy J Fairplay.

Coming out of the midlands Post Punk / fanzine scene Gary Knight and friends formed the original incarnation of In Embrace in 1981. Picked up by Glass Records, the early, edgy live recording were re-proposed as Knight developed his 'non-musicianship' with an interest in the possibilities of the studio.

The original "Uncut" version takes it's anti-war themed vocal and lays it over a Jah Wobble inspired bassline and tense electronic rhythm. As it builds, the pressure mounts a visceral sense of oblivion of 9+ minutes of deep dubbing and repeating refrain.

Next to this the "Live In Studio" version sees the later 3 piece band replay it out in an energetic raw form that makes a worth addition. Handing the versions, plus backing tracks to Timothy J Fairplay offered a radical departure. His brooding Redub and Bonus mixes take the track to a darker place, drawing out the induced, relentless madness Knight always intended.

Die Neuauflage dieser bahnbrechenden EP ist gekoppelt mit brandneuen Live-Aufnahmen aller EP-Titel. Eine Reflexion über die Blood Bank EP von Ryan Matteson: When I reflect on the songs that make up the Blood Bank EP, I am drawn to mantras, both musical and lyrical. The driving and pulsating rhythm of the title track is held steady by the repeated refrain, I know it well, before it eventually yields to a beautiful array of guitar distortion and noise. These moments are significant through all four songs. When the steel guitar makes its entrance on "Beach Baby," it's transportive. A blissful, breezy feeling sweeps into the room and that puts you within the moment. Close your eyes and you can feel it. "Babys" follows perfectly. A piano guides your mind to the new beginnings that come with the changing of seasons. The awareness of time passes and makes way for another day. Then there's "Woods." A flawless finale. Foreign and new. Not just a new direction but a new beginning entirely. A place where boundaries don't exist. It was a signal change of things to come, laying the groundwork for new collaborations. A decade later, the song says so much in just three lines. Most significant to me are the words, "I'm building a sill to slow down the time." Time doesn't slow down, it races.

Three years after their critically acclaimed and sold out Abrada LP the great and joyful Japanese afro groovers Ajate are back with their much awaited brand new album Alo!

Ajate is a Japanese band who plays a unique blend of afro-groove dance music mixed with Japanese traditional festival music called "Ohayashi". Formed in 2011 by the band-leader John Imaeda, Ajate consists of 10 Japanese musicians.

Another unique feature of the band is the use of hand-made bamboo instruments as well as traditional Japanese percussion. The "Jahte" is a bamboo-made xylophone or balafon with a piezo pick-up mic attached to each key, connected to a pre-amplifier to obtain a loud sound and to add some touch of dirty distortion to its warm and natural acoustic sonority.

The "Piechiku" is also a bamboo-made string instrument inspired by the west-African "Ngoni" or Moroccan "Guembri" instruments. The Piechiku uses strings of the Japanese traditional "Shamisen". This instrument is also played through a pre-amplifier and John sometimes adds some wah-wah effect to it. All these bamboo instruments are designed, made and named by John Imaeda himself.

On Alo you will also be amazed by the exceptional sound of the Japanese Shinofue flute, which was not on the previous Abrada LP. Now, add to this unique sound some well-crafted Japanese female and male singing and you get a killer mix of Afro-Funk flavored grooves with traditional Japanese music!

Since the release in 2017 of their Abrada LP on the 180g label Ajate has toured Europe twice and has played a memorable concert at the world famous Trans Musicales festival in France in 2018, which has been followed by another great KEXP Live session.

Bringing glitch aesthetic into the new decade, Aaron Spectre (aka Drumcorps) gives us Computorr, a look into digital dystopia through eyes of jungle, punk, noise, & rapid-fire sampling. This energetic EP features Aaron's signature cut-up yet concise beats, and unites several subcultures at their roots.

Artwork for this record was also made by Aaron, using analog video synthesizers & old CRT televisions, for the medium is the message. Vinyl is top quality and hits hard, its clear highs and powerful bass mastered and cut by Keith Tenniswood, and comes in several different color varieties.

”Are you ready to take your turn now?” asks a mischievous voice at the beginning of DJ Marcelle’s new album. But by this point you don’t have a choice: you better buckle up for a joyride through the wild, unpredictable imagination of a true electronic music auteur. ‘Saturate The Market, Now!’ is stuffed with the kind of raw, rhythmic workouts and playful humour we’ve come to know and love from the long-serving Dutch artist. Let’s start with the music: Marcelle pinballs between pumping outsider house, brilliantly weird acid and musique concrète experiments where anything could happen at any given time. Then there are her famous track titles, which take another aim at nightclub patriarchy (‘Technicians And Their Light Effects’, the successor to last year's 'Technicians And Their Smoke Machines') at the same time as displaying a keen sense of satire (‘I Fell In My Own Cesspit!’) and revealing a difficult relationship with the sour, massive rock that for her is ‘German Bread’. With artwork featuring a collage of puppets found in her Amsterdam house and Marcelle’s own on-the-road photography, this is yet another album that sets her a mile apart from the paint-by-numbers dance music producers - or “accountants” as she’s witheringly described them.

B-tracks, the duo of Soren Jahan and John Barera, return with their first release together in many years. Unfolding across these six tunes is an extended EP of hard rocking, raw and rough house trax in the immutable b-tracks style – with no weak links. This loop digging, spliff making, track building duo have always been trying to channel the vibe of “real” and “proper” house and techno. B-Tracks are known for very successful and out of print club bombs like ìSpecializeî and ìCome Backî – as well as many headier and more techno oriented tracks. Here, they make their much welcome return to producing together.
Recorded in New York City and Berlin across a period of five years, these musicians were in no hurry to make this record. Rather, as always, they sought to make something timeless and classy that will make a lasting contribution to listeners and dancers.
