Wie bei Queensrÿche's The Verdict spielte La Torre Schlagzeug und übernahm die Vocals, Blackwell spielte Gitarre, Bass und Keyboards. La Torre und Blackwell produzierten das Album selbst, zogen jedoch Queensrÿche- Produzent Zeuss hinzu. Gastauftritte von Jordan Ziff (Age Of Evil, Metalhead, Ratt) und Al Nunn. Insgesamt zeigt sich der Solo-Output vielseitig, ohne die progressive Basis von Queensryche zu vernachlässigen. Die Grundlagen sind allerdings mehr im klassischen Metal verortet und werden mit verschiedenen Einflüssen kombiniert. . Der Opener "Dogmata" oder "Vanguards Of The Dawn Wall" kommen mit mächtig Speed um die Ecke und mixen Heavy mit Speed und Thrash. "Pretender" erhält einen leichten epischen Touch und La Torre bewegt sich stimmlich in überraschende Höhen. Metallisch klassisch wird es mit "Hellbound And Down", dem starken "Vexed" und "Rejoice In The Suffering". Der progressive Part kommt bei "Darkened Majesty", "Apology" oder "Critical Cynic" zum Tragen. Die Balladenfreunde hören in "Crossroad To Insanity" rein.Zum Schluss gibt es mächtig dunkle Töne zu entdecken - "One By One . Craig Blackwells Gitarrenspiel setzt den Gesang von La Torre musikalisch perfekt in Szene. Todd findet sogar Vocals, die noch nie zuvor von ihm gehört wurden, wie auf dem Titeltrack und dem bestechenden "Vanguards of the Dawn Wall" zu hören ist. 2021 nur in den USA veröffentlicht, macht ROAR dieses Juwel nun endlich auch in Europa erhältlich, zusätzlich in 2 luxuriösen Vinyl Versionen. Im Zentrum von Grandbrothers Musik stand schon immer die Verbindung von Altem und Neuem. Auf ihrem vierten Album "Late Reflections", welches am 14. April auf City Slang erscheint, stellen sie nun ihr Schaffen in Verbindung zu einer Institution, die ihrer eigenen Musik sieben Jahrhunderte vorausgeht: der Kölner Dom.

Das ikonische Monument gotischer Architektur, UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe und Deutschlands meistbesuchte Sehenswürdigkeit, diente als Aufnahmestudio für das neue Album des deutsch-schweizerischen Duos. Das Ergebnis ist ein Album mit einem präzisen Sinn für Geschichte und Architektur, ein Album, das die räumlichen Eigenschaften dieses prachtvollen Baus zum Teil seiner hypnotischen Komposition selbst werden lässt und in Klang überführt. Für ein Konzeptalbum ist "Late Reflections" eindringlich und immersiv, und es stellt ebenso viele Fragen, wie es Antworten gibt: Was bedeutet es für Musik, mit Architektur und Raum zu interagieren? Wie klingt eigentlich eine Kirche, die seit Jahrhunderten wegen ihrer Opulenz verehrt wird? Was kann zeitgenössische Kunst aus 700 Jahren Geschichte ziehen? Und wie können Musiker ihren eigenen kompositorischen Ansatz nach mehr als einem Jahrzehnt frisch und unverbraucht halten? Von Beginn an haben Grandbrothers Musiktraditionen in Frage gestellt. So gelang es dem vor mehr als einem Jahrzehnt in Düsseldorf gegründeten Klavierduo mit seiner vielschichtigen Musik immer wieder, die Grenzen zwischen Ambient, Minimal und Electronica zu verschieben. Das Ergebnis klingt immer anders, doch immer geprägt durch die außergewöhnliche Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem deutsch-türkischen Pianisten Erol Sarp und dem Schweizer Elektroniker und Software-Entwickler Lukas Vogel. Auf bisher drei Alben – Dilation (2015), Open (2017) und All The Unknown (2021) – zog das Duo seine besondere Inspiration aus einer konzeptuellen Beschränkung: Jeder Klang, jede Note stammt von nur einem einzigen Instrument – dem Konzertflügel.

Free-roaming French techno talent Angioma lands on Lady Tazz's Mind Medizin with a new single that comes remixed by the legendary Kaiser, Fixon and Toru Ikemoto.

Angioma does it all from peak time and hypnotic techno to jacking house, all with his own signature exotic twist. He is currently Berlin-based and has released on Made of Concrete, but also co-runs with BLANKA the Room Trax label and Room Lab, contemporary local art and networking space. With increasingly high-profile sets in clubs like Egg London and Anomalie Berlin, Angioma is an ever more crucial part of the modern techno landscape.

The brilliant 'Unusual Suspect' is darkly seductive with its high-pressure techno rhythms and silky synth lines. Pulsing keys bring late-night hypnosis, and the icy hi-hats draw you in further to this shadowy and tunnelling groove. It's a warm, Mills-inspired sound that is stylish and dynamic.

The A Side also features a heart stopping Detroit infused remix courtesy of Mexican based Fixon (part of the Illegal Alien crew). On the flip and Gianluca Caiati aka Kaiser has been tearing up the techno scene for 15 years. His superb remix pairs things back but the pummeling, rubbery drums remain the focal point as whip-snapping snares lash about up top, incendiary hi-hat pressure grows, and the sleek synths intensify the trip. Finally, Japanese Techno hero Toru Ikemeto delivers an off-kilter slice of driving take on the original.

Arma Records is about to drop its 25th release, an album by Vakula, an Ukrainian producer, active contributor to the underground community that has been united around Moscow's Arma17 since early 2010s.

On the 25th of June, '108 Mysteries' — a double vinyl comprising 9 tracks created by Vakula at his studio, mostly by the artist himself, few in collaboration with the vocalist Amrita Ananda — will be available on major distribution platforms.

Affected by circumstances, the release was repeatedly postponed until a mutual decision to move forward with its publication was made by the artist and the label. The tragedy that was forced upon Ukrainian and Russian people, throwing both nations into an unthinkable circle of pain, hatred and death, had a devastating effect on our cultures, historically perceived as a whole. The catastrophe unwraps further, taking lives, burning homes, destroying connections between people. At that terrifying moment we, the community of artists, still have the voice that used to bring us together — our music.

Philosophical and meditative, '108 Mysteries' is a new chapter in Vakula's discography. 'Highest Love', 'A Breath Of Life', '?????? ?????', 'Spirit Okarine' are a high-spirited mix of oriental and Ukrainian folk motifs — an unusual combination that happens to sound so full of life.

Edinburgh based DJ and producer Filthy Rich, label boss at Zimp Recordings, is a deliciously slippery artist with an engorged techno sack who’s always at the ready to spurt his computer generated juicy tit bits all over your proverbial techno flaps.

There’s five tracks full of sub-bass madness, as well as a plethora of dizzying scratch samples, on this release of intense experiences where beauty meets anger. Pulling influences from dubstep, roots and disciples, the tracks on this next instalment from Zimp Recordings dive deep into ska based warehouse techno, swelling basslines and utterly focused dance floor mayhem, all with the added bonus of feeling like you’ve been punched in the face by a massive bag of skunk. Along-with the three original tracks there’s a destructive hi-energy dancefloor banger of a remix by Edinburgh legend Morphamish and an industrially relentless, experimental, neuro-bass tonal pounder of a remix from Tokyo’s Yu Ikemoto.

Minami Deutsch was formed by Kyotaro Miula (guitar, vocals, synthesizer) in Tokyo in 2014. Their sound is influenced by both their love for Krautrock legends such as Can and Neu!, and the band members being self-professed "repetition freaks" who heavily listen to minimal techno.
The music proceeds straightforwardly with the Motorik beat (Hammer beat), devised by Klaus Dinger (Kraftwerk, Neu!), as its central axis. Humorous, yet bizarre Japanese lyrics are whispered over a hard, cold beat that is maniacally repeated, creating a pleasant ambience of electronic pulses drifting in space. Sharp guitar tones reminiscent of Michael Karoli (Can) occasionally explode into fuzz distortion, on the verge of collapse.

The series, written and directed by Flo Van Deuren and Kato De Boeck, tells the story of Bibi and Ama, two lesbian girlfriends in their twenties.

Hoping to become a better version of themselves, they move in together at a flat in Brussels. Each in their own way, but under the same roof, they come to new insights: life has no manual, love even less and themselves even less so. The result is an intimate series full of humour and familiarity.

Musically the series is coloured by an exclusive soundtrack and homegrown songs: 7 female or non-binary artists from Belgium were asked to write a song. Lara Chedraoui & Patrix, Juicy, Miss Angel, Tessa Dixson, Oriana Ikoma, Ana Diaz, SPACEBABYMADCHA and Mick Lemaire crept into their musical pen. LP1 opens with one of the decade’s most recognisable love songs: Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’, a US #1 and UK Top 10 hit that became his signature recording. It’s followed by Marvin Gaye’s ‘What’s Going On’, the socially conscious masterpiece and title track from his landmark 1971 album, and Diana Ross’ Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’, which topped the US chart and became her first solo #1. Stevie Wonder’s ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)’ remains one of Motown’s most joyful recordings and comes before Commodores’ ‘Easy’ introducing Lionel Richie’s smooth ballad vocals. Northern Soul classics from Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons with ‘The Night’, Chairmen Of The Board’s Top 3 smash ‘Give Me Just A Little More Time’ and The Trammps’ ‘Hold Back The Night’. The O’Jays’ joyous ‘Love Train’ leads to The Blackbyrds’ Walking In Rhythm’, before the side closes with the romantic classic ‘Always And Forever’ from Heatwave.

LP2 opens with The Temptations’ epic ‘Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone’, a Grammy-winning US #1 remains one of the most stunning recordings from the Motown catalogue, is followed by Isaac Hayes’ ‘Theme From “Shaft”’, an Academy Award-winner and a US #1 smash. More funk follows from Ike & Tina Turner, James Brown with one of his key tracks ‘Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine’, Edwin Starr’s powerful anti-Vietnam protest song ‘War’, and Sly & The Family Stone’s hugely influential ‘Family Affair’.
