In a union of drum and bass talent at its most authentic, MAKO and SEBA have joined forces to deliver a long-awaited and highly anticipated collaborative single titled "Brotherhood" and "Stockholm Syndrome." These tracks were initially started when SEBA visited MAKO in 2019 and showcase the synergy and creative prowess of both artists.

"Brotherhood" sets the tone for this momentous release as MAKO and SEBA combine their unique styles and sonic signatures to create a track that embodies the essence of Drum & Bass in its purest form. Crushing amen breaks over dystopian themes and chilling Rhodes hooks, this track is constantly moving with its fusion of commanding rhythms, complex arrangement quirks, and grudge-bearing bass work, resulting in a captivating sonic journey that is sure to shatter any jungle sound-system. Topped off with the inspiring mantra of “What is love? One name for it is knowledge."

On the flip side, "Stockholm Syndrome" pays homage to SEBA's cherished hometown. The track captures a minimal yet visceral spirit, a catchy hook that's rare for a track with such a haunting theme is backed with stepping beats and macabre break edits, topped with intricate percussion. This track clearly identifies both MAKO and SEBA's signatures and instantly lets the listener know they're hearing both in fusion, and the heart and soul of both producers' heritage.

MAKO and SEBA's collaborative single is a testament to their individual artistry and the magic that unfolds when they unite. Their ability to seamlessly blend their distinct styles and push the boundaries of the drum and bass genre, while remaining true to its core values, is evident in every note and beat.

You’d think a guy like Butch Walker (producer/ writer for such artists as Pink, Fall Out Boy, Avril Lavigne, Weezer, Green Day, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift) wouldn’t be particularly unlucky in love, but on Readysexgo the torture never stops, as Butch recounts one failed affair after another in exquisitely painful detail. All set to Marvelous 3’s never less than hooky power pop/glam metal stylings, often placed in seamless segues from one song to another...Readysexgo is the catchy soundtrack to the love life of a hopeless but somewhat embittered romantic. We worked with the band to create a special Expanded Edition for the album’s first-ever vinyl release at music retail, adding the non-LP side “Fastboat” plus two covers from the album sessions, one of Naked Eyes’ “Always Something There to Remind Me,” and one of Steely Dan’s “Reelin’ in the Years,” which ended up in the Jim Carrey flick Me, Myself and Irene. And after looking at the red, white, and blue artwork (faithfully reproduced here on a gatefold album jacket with lyrics), we figured if you blend those all together, you get purple, so purple vinyl it is for this 2-LP set!

Die meisten Alben, die sie veröffentlicht haben, waren Live-Auftritte, aber 2015 haben sie diese beeindruckende Studioaufnahme gemacht. Peter hatte sich eine Kontra-Alt-Klarinette zugelegt und war vom Klang dieses Instruments sehr begeistert", so Nilssen-Love in den Liner Notes. Ich hatte auch mehrere koreanische Gongs gekauft, die ich noch nicht benutzt hatte." Im August dieses Jahres trafen sie sich zu einer zweitägigen Session in Antwerpen, und von Anfang an unterscheidet sich das Stück von vielen ihrer Arbeiten. Die Musik ist weniger hektisch und aggressiv als wir es gewohnt sind, da die Musiker ihre Erkundung neuer Instrumente mit einem kontemplativeren Ansatz teilten. Natürlich bringen sowohl Brötzmann als auch Nilssen-Love hier und da die übliche Energie auf, aber es ist eine echte Offenbarung, sie in Echtzeit neue Klänge ertasten zu hören, sei es, dass ersterer die rheumatische Nasalität der Kontra-Alt-Klarinette liebkost oder letzterer in der anhaltenden Resonanz seiner neuen Gongs schwelgt. Doch auch wenn sie neue Instrumente ausprobierten, waren ihre Beziehung und ihr Engagement so stark und tief wie immer. Terminüberschneidungen verhinderten, dass sie die Produktion des Albums jemals abschließen konnten, aber sie begannen bereits während der Pandemie mit den Planungen dafür. Leider blieb es Nilssen-Love überlassen, das Projekt zu Hause zu betreuen, aber das Warten hat sich gelohnt. Dieses Duo-Album ist ein wichtiges Statement der beiden Musiker. Aber es gibt noch mehr gute Nachrichten: Ein zweiter Teil mit Musik aus derselben Studiosession wird 2024 auf Vinyl erscheinen, zusammen mit einer CD mit Live-Aufnahmen.

White vinyl, limited to 650 copies. The album title hangs heavy throughout the duration of the songs themselves, a weight around the neck of its creators. Inspired by a tumultuous time for vocalist Seb Alvarez, the album is an uncomfortable listen as he grapples with then-undiagnosed bi-polar and unchecked addiction issues. Whilst the themes of shame, deception and trauma are not new to meth., they have previously been dressed up with a fictional veneer. This time around, Alvarez lays his vulnerabilities bare, offering up the darkest parts of himself. The oppressive burden of shame, galvanised by behaviours rooted in addiction and mental illness seeps into the anxiety-inducing atmosphere of the album. Alvarez chronicles the differing types of shame and rock bottom feelings from Catholic guilt instilled in him from a young age, through to the more recent deceptions of concealing the effects of alcoholism. As he details his constant internal battles and downward spirals, everything is channelled into the creative process. The result is stark, unyielding and raw. For the first time, the band wrote as a unit, indicating a shift in focus. Alvarez focussed on the lyrical and thematic elements of the album and created more room for his bandmates to thrive. The ominous sound of SHAME is littered with experimental flourishes, as meth. lean into noise rock and metal simultaneously. There is an industrial bleakness to the album that propels it along, at some points as though through gritted teeth. Operating under a remit that included avoiding a reliance on riffs, meth. instead let rhythm - specifically their drums - carry the weight and forward motion of their compositions. Recorded in winter 2022-23 by Zack Farrer at Rose Raft in New Douglas, IL, the album was later mixed and mastered by Colin Marston.

Auf den FeBro-Konzerten der letzten 10 Jahre lief kaum mehr 'classic material' als "Jein", "Nordisch By Nature" und "Da Draussen", die Tonträger bis 2000 gab's seit fünf Sommern nur noch 2nd Hand zu kaufen und null davon je legal-digital. Nur: die Bevölkerung braucht das. Zum Glück hören die 3 Partypiepen manchmal sogar zu und schworen sogleich Besserung. Das Brot der frühen Jahre erscheint endlich wieder in vier frischen Portionen auf LP - neu gemastert in old school Stereo, erweitert um einen Batzen Bonüsse (B-Seiten, Remixe, Features, Demos und Live-Perlen), verziert mit luftigen Lebenslügen der 3, ergänzt um reichlich zwielichte Zeitzeugenberichte und zugeschüttet mit einem Füllhorn verschollener Fotos.

Artillery ist keine Band mit vielen Live-Alben. Tatsächlich haben sie in über vier Jahrzehnten nur ein einziges herausgebracht. Bis jetzt. Wenn es schon
passieren muss, dann sollte es etwas Besonderes sein. Hier kommt "Raw Live (At Copenhell)". Aufgenommen im Jahr 2022, gerade nach der
Pandemie-Sperre, auf einem der größten Metal-Festivals in ihrem Heimatland (und einem der größten Metal-Festivals in Europa!), war das Live-Set
der Dänen tadellos. Leider war es auch einer der letzten Live-Auftritte des Schlagzeugers Josua Madsen, der im Jahr darauf bei einem Autounfall ums
Leben kam. Es markiert auch einen Wendepunkt für die altgedienten Thrasher, die sich kürzlich von Sänger Michael Bastholm Dahl und Gitarrist Kraen
Meier verabschiedet haben und sich auf eine neue Ära freuen. Aber verbeugen wir uns erst einmal vor Josuas Monsterauftritt auf der Copenhell 2022
und hören wir uns an, was Artilleries Gitarrist und Gründer Michael Stützer über die Veröffentlichung zu sagen hat.
"Es war das Jahr 2022, als wir das Angebot bekamen, auf einem der absolut coolsten Metalfestivals der Welt zu spielen: Copenhell. In den Jahren
zuvor war alles von COVID-19 zerstört worden. 2022 war also das Jahr, in dem wir aktiv wurden. Große Festivals kontaktierten uns, das deutsche
Fernsehen und so weiter. Rockhard, Sweden Rock, Brutal Assault und Copenhell. Die Bühne mit Bands wie KISS, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Mercyful
Fate, Judas Priest zu teilen, größer geht es kaum. Wir haben uns hingesetzt und beschlossen, das Konzert mitzuschneiden, es sollte so roh wie möglich
sein, so authentisch wie möglich, und die Hoffnung war, die Tracks als Bonus für zukünftige Veröffentlichungen verwenden zu können. Als wir die
Aufnahme erhielten, dachten wir, dass die Aufnahme als Konzert und nicht als Bonustracks veröffentlicht werden sollte."

PHILIPP ROLLER produced his album, "Sommer 97," back in 1996 during his student days in his small home studio. Drawing inspiration from acts like Kraftwerk, Orbital, various artists on Warp Records, and computer game music, Roller crafted a unique sonic experience. Initially released on cassette, the album was unveiled to an intimate audience at Künstlerhaus Stuttgart in February 1997. Following the initial release, Roller had the opportunity to sign with a small British label. Unfortunately, circumstances led to the label's dissolution before the record could see the light of day. Despite efforts to secure a new label, "Sommer 97" remained confined to DAT tapes and hard drives for years. Fast forward to 2020 when Michael Kübler and Daniel Varga (Rework) joined forces to establish EXLOVE Records. Recognizing the album's potential, they decided to bring "Sommer 97" out of obscurity and into the world. Philipp Roller, now residing in Berlin and working as a freelance interface designer for music software, has had an illustrious past creating a lot of music not only on his own but even for fashion shows, art and image films, and contributing ideas to Rework's debut track "Anyway I Know You" on Playhouse. In August 2021, Roller released his first single, "Kiss & Tell / Roller Disco," on Exlove Records. Finally, after a remarkable 26-year journey, Roller's legendary "Sommer 97" tape is set to be released as a double album on vinyl.

For the second instalment in our Cuban Classics series, we proudly present this sought-after slice of sublime Afro-Cuban jazz from 1976. It comes courtesy of one of Cuba’s most influential acts, Grupo Irakere. Founded in 1973 by Chucho Valdés (son of the Cuban pianist and bandleader Bebo Valdés) the group was home to many of Cuba’s finest musicians over the years. With an electrifying style and sound, they mixed traditional Cuban music with jazz, funk, and rock.

This self-titled album includes the much-loved, dancefloor heavy-hitter 'Chequeré-Son’, a Latin-jazz funk masterpiece with Cubanized bebop-flavoured horn lines, lush keys, and ‘70s hip swagger. Though 'Chequeré-Son’ is the keystone of the record, the album is laced with brilliance at every turn, from the Carlos Santana-esque channelling ‘Iya’ with its percussive Latin power, to the sultry, slick and passionate '38 1/2’. Elsewhere, the absorbing, ever-building energy of 'Juana 1600’ and steamy vocal dancer ‘Xiomara’ are also highlights of this incredible album.

Pressed on Cuba’s state led Areito Records, the album was well received internationally, garnering distribution in Finland on Love Records, in Italy on Phase 6 Super Stereo, and also in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Venezuela.

A cherished Afro-Cuban triumph, this album has been crying out for a reissue and we’re delighted to make that happen.

First album in seven years from Maple Death Records founder James Jonathan Clancy (Italy/Canada), and the first under his birth name following previous ensembles His Clancyness (Fat Cat, Maple Death) and Brutal Birthday (Total Punk, Improved Sequence). In the interim between those projects and this latest, ‘Sprecato’, Clancy has refined and honed his vision —steadily and carefully drawing from a host of disparate influences to create a new kind of singer-songwriter album that bridges the divide between cosmic loner-folk, proto-ambient music, and the epic, intricately arranged world of vintage Italian soundtrack music. For ‘Sprecato’, Clancy has assembled a transnational cast of renowned guest collaborators; including Stefano Pilia (co-producer/guitar/modular/synths/bass), Andrea Belfi (drums), Enrico Gabrielli (flutes, PJ Harvey/Calibro 35), Francesca Bono (piano, Bono/Burattini) —while the core of the band features Dominique Vaccaro (guitars, J.H. Guraj), Andrea De Franco (synths, Fera) and Kyle Knapp (sax, Cindy Lee/Deliluh).

Written and recorded between London & Bologna, the initial spark for the album was to be found in the book length work ‘Gli Sprecati’ (Canicola Edizioni), by visionary Italian comic’s artist Michelangelo Setola, who ultimately provided Clancy with the graphics

that grace the album’s cover and overall visual sensibility. Something of Setola’s near apocalyptic pastoralism runs through the record, even as Clancy’s themes grow beyond the seed they’d originally planted. Drum machines that sound as if they’ve been excavated from the earth meet detuned pianos and guitars; bucolic traces of synths stretched beyond all reckoning. While the band is both loping and epic —with shades of Pentangle’s Terry Cox in the live drumming in particular —there’s a new emotional depth and

“Challenge” was released in 1981 on Bootleg, a record label born inside a record store in Pavia with the same name. “Challenge” keeps the original and uncompromising punk attitude alive. 3 groups: No Suicide (from the Udine province), Mercenary God (from Gemona), No Submission (from Treviso), all sick children of the industrious, rich and Christian Democratic north-eastern part of Italy. I read about them in “New Fahrenheit” (a controversial article about local rivalries, common backgrounds and eventually separate roads.) but I don’t know their music. Something tells me that “Challenge” is the record I was looking for, perhaps because of its very powerful cover with no slogans, and a circled “A”. I send the money in a sealed envelope and wait. When the package arrives, I open it, I put the record on the turntable and let the needle go. The first listen is enough to realize that this is a crucial release, a real “challenge”.

The challenge is against an indifferent market. The instrument is a sound that is already changing skin. No Suicide, Mercenary God and No Submission have nothing to do with Great Complotto, they are the other face of the northeastern underground. Punk is their background, (read “hardcore” for No Suicide) but for all of them there is a progressive detachment from the original material, including a common attitude towards the caustic sound coming from the harshest side of British wave. A classic example of “work in progress” able to generate great songs like “The Degraded Men” by No Submission (the band that later evolved into Wax Heroes), one of the peaks of Italian post-punk. Mercenary God will give birth to The Sex, while No Suicide with their tight hypnotic hardcore will disbanded soon. It’s 1981 when the rain clouds on the “Challenge” front cover seem to remind us that the wind is going to change soon.

3 bands, 11 songs, an unearthed piece of history 43 years after its first release. Thanks to this reissue, “Challenge” is now back on track. A different disc, today as then. (Luca Frazzi)

The anniversary edition also features a gatefold jacket previously unavailable in the United States and an updated lyric sheet.Walking the razor's edge between overdriven navel gazing bliss and perfect pop sensibility, Ann Arbor's Pity Sex have crafted a breathtaking debut LP in 'Feast of Love' that's both awesomely beautiful and deftly evocative. Massive, harmonically distorted guitars and airy dual male/female vocals are hallmarks of Feast of Love, all drenched in warm, dreamy reverb. Most impressive however, is how the band utilizes pop conventions - both vocal and instrumental melody, and a strong and pounding rhythm section - while delving deep into the ethereal power of textured soundscapes. Superheaven and Run For Cover Records have teamed up to commemorate the ten year anniversary of the band's breakthrough debut album JAR. After first hitting stores in Spring of 2013, this latest update to the legacy of one of Run For Cover's most important titles comes out April 28, 2023. The eastern-Pennsylvania four piece had been building anticipation for their first full-length for years, releasing multiple EPs and playing shows with local contemporaries like Tigers Jaw and Balance and Composure. Working with producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight) at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA, these songs showcase a talent for writing both jarringly heavy and delicately emotional songs, mixed with the size and clarity of major label grunge breakthrough records like Nirvana's Nevermind or Failure's Fantastic Planet. The revamped anniversary edition features new, updated packaging as well as two bonus tracks - "Siblings," a Jar-era one-off single and "Lucky," a vinyl-exclusive b-side from the LP sessions.

Obwohl sich Etran De L'Äir bereits 1995 gründeten und schon über 40 Songs selbst komponiert haben, hat es 23 Jahre gedauert, bis die Formation mit "No. 1" ihr Debüt vollbracht hat. Ausschlaggebend dafür waren weniger die künstlerischen Qualitäten als vielmehr die ökonomischen Verhältnisse, in denen das Familienkollektiv in Agadez im Nordosten von Niger lebt. Hier verdienen die Musiker bei Hochzeiten ihren Lebensunterhalt. Da sie jedoch aus einem sozial schwachen Milieu stammen, werden sie in der streng hierarchischen Tuareg-Gesellschaft nur von relativ armen Familien für die Feierlichkeiten gebucht. Entsprechend gering ist das Auskommen. Doch Etran De L'Äir haben aus der Not eine Tugend gemacht und mit baufälliger Instrumentierung - drei Gitarren plus Perkussion - und bewährten DIY-Tugenden einen vollkommen eigenen Sound entwickelt. Keine andere Gruppe spielt den Sahara-Rock der Region so unkonventionell, laut und rau wie Etran De L'Äir. Ihr hypnotisch groovendes, live in einem garagenähnlichen Vorortstudio von Agadez eingespieltes Album strotzt nur so vor Surf-Twang, brennenden Gitarrenmelodien und treibenden Beats.

Roberto Agosta, or just Agosta as he likes to be called, is a Sicilian DJ and producer from Catania active all along the eastern coast of Sicily, a place that proved to be a soulful place and a training ground for a long career, making him an excellent music selector and a reference point in the spread of alternative music.

A soundtrack music enthusiast since he was a child, now a vinyl "serial gathere", Agosta has always put his vast knowledge at the service of a very personal sound that sums many different music styles and contaminations, simple and profound but straightforward and direct at the same time.

Agosta’s eponymous album, released on LP, CD and digital formats, was conceived during the Covid-19 lockdown, thanks to the precious collaboration of friend DJ and producer Massimo Napoli aka Galathea, with whom Roberto has already started another project called AN-AN that will produce a new record for Space Echo at the end of 2022.

This record highlights a typical chill-out aesthetic, thanks to its trip-hop and ambient rhythms and atmospheres, while a deeper exploration reveals the psychedelic essence of the entire work, a daring and exciting journey in the most primitive Sicily, and the energy that sustains all of its ten tracks.

Much of their author and his lifestyle - mainly based on meditation, the search for spiritual elevation, the relationship with nature and the regaining of contact with those particular places and with the people who live there - is revealed by those tracks that constitute a soundtrack for this spiritual but also extremely physical journey.

The song titles are, in fact, intrinsically linked to Roberto’s real life: the Gorna and Ilice mountains at the foot of Etna, the Carricante vineyard and its excellent wine, Unna, Three Chestnuts, Varanni, Don Alfio, Lady G. Each of them represents a pleasant and dreamlike narration and the escape from the complex dynamics of a city like Catania, among echoes of the most dreamy Pink Floyd, the softer side of ’70s krautrock, but also the Massive Attack and Tricky’s Bristol scene.
There’s also an excellent choice of synthesizers and overdubbed guitars, thanks to the talent of the multifaceted musician and producer Salvo Bruno Dub, and of Manuela Amalfitano, Loredana Poidomani and Deran Obika’s voices.

Agosta is an introspective, deep work with a cinematic vocation, perfectly rooted in the territory where it took shape, among sunny landscapes, lush with vegetation but also deserted and arid lands. From Sicily to the cosmos... enjoy!

A known entity to the most attentive and adventurous of black metal fans, with Valonielu ORANSSI PAZUZU offers a vibrant, colorful cataclysm of psych, space rock, and black metal that cannot be easily categorized as any one particular genre or any single influence. At once celestial and boundless yet malevolently grim and harsh, Valonielu is certain to elevate ORANSSI PAZUZU to new levels of importance within the modern music scene. ORANSSI PAZUZU’s previous album Kosmonument was received with great critical acclaim as a brilliant album by a band developing into something all their own. On Valonielu, the band has sharpened their songcraft into a more succinct and salient statement, formidably invoking ’90s-era Darkthrone yet boldly reaching further out into the multiverse of the psych and experimental side they have always inhabited. From the beginning chainsaw riff of album opener “Vino Verso” (“Askew Sprout”) to the climactic, world-downfall of final track “Ympyra On Viiva Tomussa” (“A Circle Is A Line In The Dust”), ORANSSI PAZUZU masterfully establish a cosmology all their own. Recorded at Orgone Studios in London and produced by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ulver, Gates of Slumber, Hexvessel…), Oranssi Pazuzu’s third album Valonielu will be released in Europe by Svart Records and in North America by 20 Buck Spin.

Released in October 1991, Belinda’s fourth solo album after leaving The Go-Gos saw Rick Nowels sharing the
producing credits with other names, but he provided Belinda with the hit singles: “Live Your Life Be Free” and “Do
You Feel Like I Feel?”. “Half The World” and “Little Black Book”, produced by Richard Feldman, were also hits.
Charting around the world, the album achieved Gold sales in the UK.
This new edition has been expertly mastered by Barry Grint at AIR Mastering from the original stereo tapes using

Composed by Stephen Barton and Gordy Haab, this 2xLP vinyl edition is set for release on February 2, 2024, offering fans an immersive musical experience from the acclaimed video game.

Dog Eat Dog is an American band founded in Bergen County, New Jersey. All Boro Kings is their first full-length album, released in 1994. It is the first time they brought their trademark saxophone sound to the foreground on singles like “If These Are Good Times, “Who’s The King” and “No Fronts”, of which the latter two became their biggest hits and received heavy rotation on MTV. The band were even voted Breakthrough Artists of the Year at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Dog Eat Dog became highly popular, especially in Europe, where they played large festivals and arena-sized shows. The songs released from All Boro Kings also charted on Europe's top forty heavy metal charts.

The album is available as a limited edition of 2000 individually numbered copies on gold coloured vinyl, and contains an insert.

Sylvain Chauveau's debut album "Le livre noir du capitalisme" is a melancholic milestone – and a precursor of what later would become the Modern Classical genre. With his release in 2000, Chauveau created a landmark of contemporary electronic music, parallel to the first releases of Jóhann Jóhannsson and Max Richter.

Inspired by John Cage's reflections on silence and Mark Hollis' solo album of the same name, on "Le livre noir du capitalisme" Chauveau assembles contemplative, repetitive piano and string arrangements with electronic sound layers and discreet field recordings to create an other-worldly but seductive Musique Noir. Midway between ambient, jazz and post-rock, Chauveau lays out a new paradigm of electro-acoustic music that functions as much atmospherically as compositionally, and whose parameters keep the boundaries between academic and non-academic music dissolved to this day.

Originally released on the small French experimental label Noise Museum in 2000, the album got reissued by Type Records in 2008 with the English title “The Black Book of Capitalism”. Being out of print for a while, Sonic Pieces now rereleases the classic with its original French title, plus new remastering by Loop-O and in an ultra-limited, handmade edition with black bookcloth cover on both CD and vinyl.

Roberto Carlos Lange alias Helado Negro liefert mit "PHASOR" den Nachfolger zu seinem von der Kritik gelobten Album "Far In" (2021)ab. Gleichzeitig erscheint die erste Single "LFO", die von einem halluzinatorischen, selbstgedrehten offiziellen Video begleitet wird. Den Anfang nahm "PHASOR" 2019 an Langes 39. Geburtstag nach einem fünfstündigen Besuch von Salvatore Matiranos SAL MAR-Projekt an der Universität von Illinois. Diese Maschine ist ein komplexer Synthesizer, der mit einem alten Supercomputergehirn und analogen Oszillatoren generativ Musik erzeugt. Er kann eine unendliche Anzahl von Klangsequenzen erzeugen. Diese SAL MAR-Erfahrung wurde zum Grundstein für PHASOR. Sie lehrte Lange mehr über sich selbst und wurde zu einem zentralen Faktor in seinem kreativen Prozess. "PHASOR" ist Langes dichteste Song-Sammlung - tiefgründig, atmosphärisch, akribisch ausgeführt. Damit reiht es sich ein in das langjährige Schaffen Langes sowie an das 2019er Album "This Is How You Smile", auf dem er mehr Schlagzeug und Bass und fokussierte Grooves einsetzte. The weird world of Wombo is a kaleidoscopic journey of sharp turns and surprising visions, a melting pot of influences with a cheeky cheshire-cat grin that coalesce into a trippy but infinite universe of the band's own, and a portal into their unique vantage point without limitation. After retreating from the fevered pace of the record business to concentrate on other creative endeavors, Sarabeth began to piece together the music that would eventually become her most ambitious, personal project yet – the sprawling double-album Joan Of All, which will be released world-wide on 19th May 2023 via her own freshly-minted imprint Ocean Omen. Sarabeth Tucek officially broke onto the music scene 2003 performing a series of spellbinding duets with Bill Callahan on the acclaimed Smog album Supper. This was swiftly followed by a memorable appearance in the prize-winning Brian Jonestown Massacre documentary DiG! Sarabeth also contributed material to their 2005 EP release, We Are the Radio. One of Sarabeth's compositions covered by the band on that EP, "Seer," would later be retitled and released in 2006 as Tucek's debut single, "Something for You”, which became Steve Lamacq’s Single Of The Week on BBC Radio 6 Music. Her self-titled debut album produced by Luther Russell and Ethan Johns hit stores the following year and garnered rave reviews in the press, leading her to supporting Bob Dylan and unfaltering support at the BBC. In 2011, Sarabeth followed up her extraordinary debut with a raw, uncompromising album entitled Get Well Soon, praised as an unflinching meditation on the subject of grief. This release made many year-end lists and the title track was featured on the first season of HBO’s Girls.

Even though they formed during the first wave of punk in 1977, they didn’t put out an album until five years later, titled The Record. They used their music to piss off everyone around them, and they achieved that goal with flying colors on this debut album. It remains a punk classic to this day and Record Collector’s Mark Rigby called it “probably the most exciting and impressive, one-dimensional, ill-mannered, distasteful, odious ‘hate’ record ever made.” The album only spawned one single, “I Love Livin in the City”, but includes many more gems, including “We Destroy the Family”, “Let’s Have a War”, and “Beef Boloney”. Skydaddy, the moniker of London based musician and bandleader Rachid Fakhre, has announced his debut EP, Pilot, releasing on the 2 February 2024. Alongside this announcement, Skydaddy has shared a new single ‘His Masterpiece’

Having spent the last few years writing and producing as one half of the acclaimed musical duo Spang Sisters, Skydaddy’s debut EP Pilot promises to be a ray of light bursting out from an increasingly busy London indie scene. Combining cello, violin, flute, piano and intricate vocal harmonies, Skydaddy cuts an utterly compelling figure, leading a fluid and interchangeable band, at its largest 7 people strong, they delicately glide through intricate passages of chamber-folk-rock, into swelling orchestral crescendos.

Released today is new single ‘His Masterpiece’ a piano driven track bristling with both a sense of hope and of melancholy. Skydaddy’s vocals sit alongside ear worm hooks from violins and flute. Following on from debut single ‘That Morning’ (also on upcoming EP Pilot) Skydaddy manages to capture a sound of yearning and nostalgia, whilst still sounding completely fresh and incredibly exciting. Offering insight on the inspiration on the track, he offers:

“Inspired by the story of Claude Lantier from Emilie Zola’s L'Œuvre (Commonly translated to ‘His Masterpiece’), the song charts the plight of an early impressionist painter in Paris whose works are unappreciated and gawked at by the Parisian artistic elite who are still tethered to the Romantic trend in painting. Lantier (whose character is based on Paul Cézanne) becomes madly obsessed in a painting which he believes to be his masterpiece and the ultimate demonstration of his talent and genius; an obsession which leads to his eventual, self-inflicted demise. The song is ultimately about alienation, bitterness and the struggle of creativity.”

Doug Liman’s breakthrough film Swingers showed he had a real ear for music; for his next film, 1999’s Go, he traded neo swing nostalgia for rave culture, but the beats-heavy score still took center stage. Its tale of a drug deal gone wrong dismissed by some as a Pulp Fiction rip-off when originally released, Go has become a bona-fide cult classic over the years, and its kinetic soundtrack—composed of the most au courant artists and tracks (including the first new single in two years from No Doubt)—has always enjoyed a lofty reputation among film score cognoscenti. For this 25th anniversary release, we’ve fashioned a gatefold jacket festooned with stills from the film to hold the two LPs, which we’ve pressed in “Blue Smoke” vinyl limited to 750 copies!

“The Missing Boys” is a film born from the need to tell the story of the emergence and affirmation of a forgotten music scene, like much of the youth movement that spread in metropolitan areas as well as in the provinces more than forty years ago, dealing with the same critical issues of everywhere. It’s a story of mostly unknown bands, who from Sardinia, especially from Cagliari and Sassari, interrupt the blissful isolation of an island, only apparently distant from that revolution that ignited wherever there was a stage and a power socket. The birth of a path that began with punk and quickly transformed into a magmatic picture where research, experimentation, sound subversions and slivers of darkness, shape a multifaceted and unique scene in balance between affinities and divergences with its whole surroundings. The examined period between 1979 and 1989 marks a seminal decade, a ten years time-frame linked to an indelible generational transition, like an imaginary journey “from the ants to the clouds”, an invisible thread suspended between those kids and their great dream. Now-Again Records presents catalog-wide reissues of Latin music propellant Joe Bataan’s legendary Ghetto Records. Next up in the series - Joseph “Candido” RodrÌguez - Candido was mentored by Tito Punete, and his debut features a fantastic mix of fiery Salsa, Latin Jazz and Sweet Latin Soul. Ghetto Records was Joe Bataan’s way to get over on “The Man” and out of the ‘hood, a bold move by an artist looking for independence and creative control in an industry that had exploited his talents and treated him like chattel. As Bataan puts it today, “Ghetto Records was part of my journey, a stepping stone to everything else that I’ve done. I learned enough that it enabled me to get out of the box with my thinking, it showed me how to deal with adversity.” Like many dreams and schemes born of the street, this one was audacious, perhaps even reckless to a fault. Hatched from desperation yet full of hope Ghetto Records came crashing down shortly after its inception. The seven albums in its discography languished out of print - until now. These are the definitive reissues of these albums, licensed from Joe Bataan, with his oversight and input into a 16 page oversize book by Pablo Yglesias that details Bataan’s larger-than-imagination life and his little Latin label that could.

The Three Times collects the first three EPs from Oslo, Norway's Flight Mode. Led by singer/songwriter Sjur Lyseid, each EP contains four songs referencing a year and place in Lyseid's life. Sweet harmonies, soulful reggae, love songs – the key ingredients of Lovers Rock - were all based on the revival of many of the classic Rocksteady harmony groups of the late 60's and early 70's, such as The Heptones, Carlton and The Shoes, Larry & Alvin, The Paragons, that Clement "Sir Coxsone" Dodd’s Studio One and rival Duke Reid’s Treasure Isle label produced hit after hit with as they fought for dominance in the dancehalls of Kingston.

As well as these classic harmony groups, this album also features fine contributions from many of the reggae greats – Horace Andy, Alton Ellis, Bob Marley and The Wailers, Delroy Wilson – All artists who became stars at the legendary Studio One Records which Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records, describes as "The University of Reggae".

Here four classic studio experimentations conceived by Harry Thumann former owner and main engineer of Country Lane Studios based in Munich, Germany: the home of the glorious munich-sound during the disco era. Many strong songs where produced here, so this EP represents the evolution in sound during that era mid-seventies early eighties.

French pianist and trumpeter Guillaume Poncelet presents his second solo album, Durango.

This album was named after the studio where he works alongside his sound engineer, Romain Clisson. It explores the sphere of minimalist neo-classical music with deep and subtle nuances.

In these 10 new compositions, we find that muffled upright piano sound, unique and characteristic of Guillaume Poncelet, which weaves in the keyboards and synths orchestrated by Louxor.

Erupt Records has suffered its first Unrest Hazard. After keeping the lid on a beast this explosive, what did you think was going to happen?

This new series of '4 on 1' EPs from the mighty label, will showcase several of the best producers from the UK (sometimes even beyond!) breakbeat hardcore/jungle scene on 1 record, be they old or new.

The first track from Schoco (Omni Music) is "I Need". Let yourself go to wispy, dream-state synthlines over ferocious breakz.

Track 2 is a bouncy piano anthem for anybody who likes hearing the words "1993" and "happy" in the same sentence. This one is brought to you by After The Zenith. Usually resident cover artist for Erupt, this time he grabs the steering wheel and gears up to present you a bit of his own 'ardcore.

Next up is some brutality from Tactical Aspect. Need no more be said than these lads are one of Australia's finest purveyors of hardcore junglism, with a portfolio including works for Reinforced Records. But, with a recent move back to Yorkshire, and following an initiation into the West Yorkshire Jungle Collective, it only made sense for TA to deliver some unrelenting '93 style breakbeat hardcore brutality to celebrate.

The final track "When Did We Forget" is a get together from the lads at Kool FM, Code and Subbreak, with D-Region. Any time you see these names together, it commands serious respect. This is one for anybody who likes those hazy breakbeat hardcore tracks that tread a fine line between hard and euphoric.

Steeped deep in the waters of memory, Privacy dreams up visions of electro music's past, present and future on his inaugural EP for TRUST. The revered Australian producer (of Klakson and Klasse Wrecks fame, half of Negroni Nails with Steffi) channels the energy of his genre-busting DJ sets into four tracks that straddle a set of influences as diverse as discoid techno, West Coast electro, and far fiction dubstep in deliriously asynchronous fashion.

Alex Deforce & Charlotte Jacobs are overtaking emptyness in shades of silence. Language has something to say here. Voices combined in poetic levels of belgitude. Poetry rewriting days and nights.

Southside Movement was a Chicago funk band that was busy during the mid 70s releasing a total of three albums between 1973 and 1975 on Wand and 20th Century Records. They also collaborated with the lush tones of soul singer and fellow Chicagoan Jackie Ross on records for Chess and Brunswick that have long since been forgotten. Until now, that is, because P-VINE has put together this great reissue of the music that was only released in limited test presses back in the day, and has added to it some previously unreleased tracks. The standout here is 'You Are The One That I Need' with its tropical funky vibes.

Space Age Recordings are pleased to announce a 500 copy repress of Spacemen 3 live album “Threebie 3” on heavyweight yellow vinyl. Originally released in 1989 and only available with a coupon contained in the Spacemen 3 classic "Playing With Fire", "Threebie 3" has become something of a collector's item. Featuring four tracks from a live show at the Melkweg, Amsterdam from February 1988 and a studio version of "Live Intro Theme (Xtacy)". The tracks "Starship", "Revolution", "Suicide" and "Repeater" capture perfectly the spirit of the Spacemen 3 live experience. The trademark drones and one chord barrages are tied together by a brooding sense of urgency and a near chaotic air of energy.

The area was now quite empty, the floor littered with empty Evian bottles. The consensus is that the Tangerine Sunsets are a disappointment.

Although very little is known about the goddess Clota, Anderson intuitively understands the River Clyde provides a rich landscape to explore her legacy. Dominating its environment, and steeped in ancient and modern historical significance, 'Clota' simultaneously reflects on what is, and what has been. Through deft application of modular synthesis, Anderson's trademark ability to weave extraordinary musical dialogues with time and place, conjures new life into this long-forgotten deity.

After two EPs with his punk-jazz duo La Récré, a recent solo album on Born Bad Records and two soundtracks for Monia Chokri films "Babysitter" and "Simple Comme Sylvain", Forever Pavot is everywhere yet never where you expect him to be. He now returns to BMM with a new rap album titled "Forever XP".

On the other side of the globe, LA-based rapper and street activist XP The Marxman received a beat with a nice sample from one of his producers. XP traced the sample back to Forever Pavot, and decided to reach out to him to collaborate.

That's how the atypical Forever XP album was born. Pavot's first time working with a rapper was also XP's first time working with a composer, yet they managed to blend both their universes in such a flawless way that it's like they were meant to create music together.

Like a complex optical illusion perceived as a banner over the sea horizon, where sight is significantly distorted and changes rapidly, unlike any other ordinary mirage, a true Fata Morgana comprises several inverted and steepled illusions, stacked on one another, showing alternating compressed and stretched sonic lands.

The term named after the Mistress of the Fairies of the Salt Sea, King Arthur's half-sister Morgan le Fay, encapsulates the hallucinatory prowess of the seduction myth, a symbol of incantation and sensorial catharsis among the pleasure and the pain meanders.

Musically the 5 track EP presents an uncharted lysergic soundscape unfolding with hallucinatory electro-glitter and gritty fat notes (Wickbush), evolving like the poisoning stages of a vividly cosmic intake- dub acid darkness (Acid Tears) conveying a magnetic grip, a true obsession which turns to be a spell (Una y Otra Vez), steadily building up a hypnotic subtle theme that takes you as high as an astral trip (Mirage) and slowly descends from the alternate consciousness state on the latter, March 3rd as a premise of the deepen future journey blazing ahead.

Georgia Claire Flipo, known professionally as G Flip and informally referred to as G, is an Australian singer, songwriter, producer, drummer, and musician from Melbourne, Victoria. Cinematic visuals directed by Rom Snare star Yoram Varganyi as a lost soul looking for trouble or, perhaps, friendship with co-stars Dolorès and Alain Mt, on his last night out, whilst an unexpected ending leaves the viewer heartbroken and breathless. DJ Spinna has been a fan of R&B/Neo-Soul queen Carmen Rodgers since her debut album 20 years ago, so it was just a matter of time before the two teamed up for something special. The result is an epic soulful house journey on Side A, where Spinna gives his typical Galactic Soul touch to Carmen’s jam “Again and Again”. The og version of the song was released originally in her “Hello Human vol. 1” EP together with “Say So”, which also gets Spinna’s twist on Side B: a progressive Hip Hop/Soul flip for the downtempo heads.
