Italo-disco inspired house music, IN MY DREAMS is the latest single from New York/Moscow duo IPF aka INTERNETPOWERLIFTINGFEDERATION. A warm, galloping bass line fuses with razor-sharp synth stabs, creamy pads and late-80’s house drums. A dual-vocal exchange explores self-delusion, obsession and a single-sided relationship between girl and the boy who lives in her head. Melancholic yet pop-y, IN MY DREAMS wouldn’t be out of place in club run by Erasure, Depeche Mode or Human League at their most soulful and dancefloor-ready. In the spirit of classic 80’s dance music traditions, the original mix gets three additional reworks: a classic Electro version, a “big room” friendly HI-NRG version and stripped down version. Vin Sol is a third-generation San Franciscan of Salvadorean descent who has released on Unknown to the Unknown, Clone, Delft, Honey Soundsystem, and Ultramajic. His DJ sets expertly span the genres of house, electro, techno, italo, disco, soul, funk, and whatever other finds he digs up. He's also a musical partner of Matrixxman, AKA Charlie Duff, with whom he started the Soo Wavey label. His current focus is on the wild monthly party and label Club Lonely, which he runs with Primo Pitino and Jeremy Castillo. 'Planet Trash' consists of 10 tracks spread across 2 slabs of vinyl and a bonus flexi disc. Vin started working on the album in the winter of 2017 while taking a break from making club tracks. Simultaneously he also wanted to disconnect from the grip of the internet and 24 hour news cycle. Spending more time outside, he became entranced by the Bay Area fog. Sutro Tower wholly enveloped in mist is a view that inspired the ambient tracks on the album. You will also hear hints of the Latin freestyle and classic acid that informed Vin's youth. By spring of 2018 Vin headed to Berlin to finish the album and work on a collaboration with Matrixxman, an homage to SF musical institution Bottom of the Hill that kicks off side C. Vin's musical approach is honest, using the tools of the trade to both innovate upon and pay respect to classic forms. All songs have been mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each copy is housed in a jacket using photos by Vin Sol, and designed by Kevin McCaughey of Boot Boyz Biz. It includes a 4-color giant newsprint fold-out poster and golden flexi disc.

Both taken from the Magic Spell Album produced by Mario Boncaldo & Tony Carrasco in 1983, the same guys from Klein & MBO, Plastic Mode, Amnesie and Ris. They have scouted artists like John Talabot, Todd Terje, Tensnake and Mano Le Tough early in their careers and released their breakthrough records. On top of his dedication to explore and feature rising as well as accomplished artists, Benjamin Fröhlich himself has emerged as a producer of vibrant tracks that are testament to his versatile and compelling approach to club music. His 12 inches, which were well received by DJs and clubbers alike, are accompanied by acclaimed remixes including his Tuff City Kids rework, which made it on Roman Flügel's Fabric Mix Now his first album is ready to go! Amiata is a conglomerate of Benjamin Fröhlich's longstanding experience. Just like his DJ sets and work for PV, each of the album's tracks expresses a different facet of his musical preferences. While keeping it under the roof of Benjamin's specific sound, the tracks range from Dub hybrids to Italo, Disco and Boogie inspired tracks, 90's spacy breakbeats and Electro to classic house ( 'Last Night' features rising U.S. artist Dreamcast).

Celebrating the 10th anniversary this year, Marco Passarani and Valerio Delphi managed to arrive at album number three. A.O.D. is a pun on A.O.R. (adult oriented rock) and a play on their own sound. Defying the restricting rules electronic music record shop crates, it's a departure and an arrival at the same time. Inspired by the faded buildings and images of discotheques on the Italian countryside, the romantic start and bittersweet endings of summer, beach life and the excitement of travelling through the landscape to get to aforementioned temples of dance and subsequently the morning after.

Except for the 100% sample-free 1:00 am, everything on A.O.D. is based on a quiver of cleared samples from the Roman institution that is Claudio Donato and his Full Time and Goodymusic emporium. In Tiger & Woods hometown Rome, the often very electronic and futuristic sound of Italo Disco had a different twist. Much more boogie-based and influenced by the song-writing styles of New York City's dance scene, it played in a league of its own. Tiger & Woods use these materials to take them apart, out of context and into contrasting areas. Molding something completely new, one gets fooled to recognize Sade songs that aren't, pop music instrumentals and a reprise of memories that never existed. A ride through ones brain in a convertible with an Italian FM radio station playing in the background. Footjob is releasing its second various artists sampler called 'Footure Classics Vol.2'. The latest edition complies 5 tracks - traditionally genre-specific between house and disco. This time fresh names are presented besides the established suspects Sascha Ciminiera and Lukas Lehmann such as legendary Hans Nieswandt (Whirlpool Productions) as well as acclaimed DJ Friction from Benztown. For the first time ever on a 12' release, Patrizia Saronni's 'E poi' and 'Perché Dovrei', only previously released as a 45 for the tiny Pongo label back in 1984.

'E poi' is a female-voiced tearjerker sung over a heart-melting italo-electro-synth line, while 'Perché Dovrei' is a power synth-pop-talo teenage rebellion anthem.

But the most wonderful discovery on the actual master, has been a *previously unreleased* alternate version of 'E Poi', that didn't make the original release, which sounds crafted for today's dancefloors. Release will also feature a remixTBA. As common with our quality standards, repress is officially licensed and taken from the actual analog masters !

'Voices In The Night' is 23rd Underpass' third full-time length album, and Costas Andriopoulos has not lost a bit of his talent to write classy and catchy yet dark synth pop-infused Italo disco tracks. Bordello A Parigi presents a compilation of demo tracks from the legendary Italo Disco icon: Federico di Bonaventura, better known as Fred Ventura. These demo tracks were supposed to remain secret until Fred started to digitalize them from tape a few years ago. Most of these tracks were part of the transitional period between the exit from his early 80's band State Of Art and start of his first solo project Actor's Studio and career as Fred Ventura. A versatile treasure of lost music recorded from 1982 until 1984 in Milan, Italy.

A doctor by day and a musician by night, Leon x Leon has been producing songs in his
Parisian home studio since 2013, where house, italo-disco and boogie are mixing. When he
was younger, he was immersed in music by taking jazz drum lessons at the conservatory,
and especially by seeing his father, a sound engineer, who had been building his own
synthesizers since the 1970s. As a tribute, he used one of these unique synthesizers on a
title of the disc.
After a remarkable remix of Cerrone's "Funk Makossa" and several tracks on various from
'Red Laser Disco', he released his project My Solar Brass on the same English label in
2017. Organizer of many Parisian parties, he also participated in the founding of the
publishing label 'Good Plus". With the release of Rokanbo on Cracki Records, Leon x
Leon signs a mature EP with the influence of different styles.
The first eponymous title is a manifesto mixing Acid, House and Zouk. As soon as we
launch the track, the pop & acid 80's sounds takes us to another world... A UFO from the
Islands! The other parts of the EP don't leave us in the lurch! 'Formant Sweep' delivers a
soft and groovy bass that responds to an endless, spatial synthetic takeoff. On 'Red
Footpath', the harder kick cleverly blends with an atmospheric blanket and a bright, lively
flute solo straight from an abandoned piece of bamboo on a deserted beach. After that,
'Jungle Juice' lets a crazy keyboard solo resonate in the middle of tropical fauna and flora,
and finally on 'Horizon', the EP ends in beauty with an airy atmosphere. This last piece
sounds like a beautiful sunset at the end of a long summer day.
Through all these tracks, Rokanbo EP offers us a clever contrast between synthetic notes
and the warmth of tropical groove, and places our gaze towards the horizon, seeking the
groove to disturb its line on the infinite sea.

The 'Vista' EP caps off an intensely busy year for Geoff Kirkwood, otherwise known as Man Power. The British DJ/producer has become quite the 'tour de force' in 2018, with releases and remixes for Futureboogie, DFA, Correspondant, Exotic Series, Skint Records, and his very own Me Me Me imprint. So it seems quite fitting to seal a productive 12 months with a release on Richy Ahmed's Four Thirty Two, a label that itself has been firing out big releases this year from EJECA, Jansons & Senzala and Ahmed himself. And joining this big end of year party, enter stage left, Roman Flu¨gel, who delivers an absolutely stellar remix of 'Vista'. Meaty synths and clattering 909 drums are doused in futuristic Italo disco vibes for
'Outrider', whilst a winning combo of breakbeats and acid affected bass provide the backbone of the simply gargantuan 'Vista'. Roman Flu¨gel's interpretation of the title track brings the break to the fore, playfully teasing out the acidic sounds and surging strings for another truly memorable remix that we've come to expect from Mr. Flu¨gel. Closing the EP, 'Poly Pop' delivers a vivid and bright burst of melody over clanking
percussion and sturdy beats, filled with 'end of the night' optimism that's become Man Power's forte.

The Dublin duo have releases on Orange Tree Edits, 045 Recordings, and Hot Digits but have saved some of their best material yet for this 12 Inch.

On the A side, the euphoric Azoto rework is a driving disco romp for 'any time or place,' while 'Purple' patiently builds on a hypnotic bass with rhodes and airy leads before a sweet flight attendant lead take off. The 'Bee Side' kicks off with a carefully crafted reimagination of an 80s african house groove with added analog leads and percussion while 'Forever' fills out the release as a peak time disco banger that's built on the framework of a certain famously unsung disco genius

The latest release on Arma comes from Dutch legend and devoutly deviant underground operator Ruud Lekx, aka Rude 66. With a legacy that reaches back to the early 90s and the rough and ready Dutch electro sound of Bunker Records and The Hague, he's maintained a distinctly non-conformist approach that touches on acid, Italo, techno and more besides, all finished with the punky attitude that sets him and peers like Unit Moebius and I-F apart.

The tracks gathered together on The Witch Trials EP come from throughout Lekx's career. As the artist himself says, 'tracks from wildly different eras and sessions suddenly can combine to form one coherent EP. It's almost like the A-side tracks were waiting for 20 years to be combined with the B-side tracks.'

The overriding theme that binds together these timeless machine excursions is that of medieval witch trials - a global phenomenon that peaked in the 15-1600's. Considering the suspicion, propaganda and mass moral panic involved in this strange curio of distant history, Lekx points to the parallels with the current age, 'of political polarization and fake news accusations flying all over.' The EP title is also a tribute to two records close to his heart: The Fall's Live At The Witch Trials, and the one-off Witch Trials project by members of the Dead Kennedys, Adrian Borland and Christian Lunch.

'Werewolves & Poisoners' and 'The Crusade Against Idolatry' are both archive tracks from the 1994-5 period when Lekx made his first albums for Bunker Records. The first track's charging arps, rugged kicks, nagging acid lines and discordant paranoia all speak to that trailblazing period, while 'The Crusade...' revels in canny programming of interwoven synth lines feeding into an unhinged, psychedelic rampage that reflects the righteous fervour and spiritual confusion of the EP concept.

'The Absence Of Diabolism' opens up the B-side with a different tone, having been produced in 2016 and demonstrating the deeper acid undulations Lekx has become known for in more recent years. Still delivered via the same trusted tools he was using in the 90s, the sound feels like an extension of the Rude 66 vision rather than a separate entity. 'Envious Are All The People, Witches Watch At Every Gate,' a cut from the late 90s, closes the EP out in a spacious, snarling exploration of broken acid electro laden with cinematic sweeps of synthesizer and a constant sense of unresolved tension.



Across these four tracks, Lekx displays the scope of his craft as Rude 66 while also proving that timeless music can make sense in any context, and that the threads of inspiration in an artist's journey can be followed, explored and even resolved 20 years later, when you least expect it
