The Bobby Hamilton Quintet Unlimited's Dream Queen has been captivating jazz collectors ever since it was first released in 1972. Its meditations on spiritual jazz are profound as they are moving with the deft touch of band-leader Bobby Hamilton on keyboards weaving his way through subtle textures of sound. The backing band is an equally formidable force with each adding to the melting pot as it builds into a frenzy on third track "In the Mouth of the Beast".

Hiroshi Sato's masterpiece “Awakening” has been reissued for the fourth time in a new color “Pastel Blue Vinyl”. The album was cut by world-renowned engineer Bernie Grundman based on high-spec sound data digitally converted to 96KHz/24bit from the original master tapes. The pressing was done at Sony Music's factory in Japan. This is Hiroshi Sato's fourth original album released in June 1982 after his career in Los Angeles, and his first album for Alpha Records. Featuring Canadian female vocalist Wendy Matthews and using the most advanced drum machine at the time, “LinnDrum,” this mellow and soulful album is a perfect fusion of Sato's sound sense and the atmosphere of American West Coast, and has transcended generations, continues to influence many musicians. Guest guitarists include Tatsuro Yamashita, Tsunehide Matsuki, and Yuji Toriyama! Limited edition.

KOIZUMIX PRODUCTION, a collaborative project between Kyoko Koizumi who worked under a different name in the 1990s and club culture artists and creators,
is finally being released in analog format. These two works, now difficult to obtain, are making their long awaited debut on vinyl.

The release is a complete analog version of the 1998 CD, which could be considered a KOIZUMIX PRODUCTION remix best-of.
It includes all tracks from the original CD, plus additional remixes that were previously available only on vinyl, compiled into a 2-disc set titled “89–99 COLLECTION”.

This reissue also includes “ONE LAST LOVE”, a track originally featured as the B side of a single and not included on the album.
The latest remastered audio comes from the album and single, archived in 2018 from the original analog master tapes at 96k/24bit.
Boosted by the popularity of Japanese grooves and further propelled when Japanese creators sampled “Sexy Woman”, the album’s reputation skyrocketed,
driving original vinyl prices to unprecedented highs. Beyond that, tracks like “Typhoon Lady”, which opens with a drum break that exudes funk, and the mellow
“Fuwari Fuwafuwa”, with its tight performance and floating vibe, remain timeless masterpieces even 40 years after their original release.

Hiroshi Sato’s landmark solo debut album, recorded at Electra Studios in California with the support of local musicians including Amos Garrett and Joe Carrello.
The album features a self-cover of “Rainbow Sealine”, originally written for Minako Yoshida, as well as “F.W.Y.”, later covered by Chu Kosaka.

“I Believe I’ll Dust My Broom” is one of Robert Johnson’s most iconic recordings, later made even more famous by Elmore James’ legendary interpretation,
which helped establish the signature “broom style” in blues music. The track brilliantly translates boogie-woogie piano bass patterns into a single-guitar
performance, showcasing Johnson’s extraordinary technique.

“Dead Shrimp Blues” is often interpreted as a metaphor for sexual impotence, with Johnson’s emotionally resonant vocal delivery adding a sense of haunting
emptiness to the track.

“Come On In My Kitchen” remains one of Johnson’s most covered and celebrated songs. Said to draw inspiration from the Mississippi Sheiks’ hit “Sitting On
Top Of The World,” the song’s repeating guitar phrases create an unmistakable sense of melancholy and depth.

“They’re Red Hot,” on the other hand, stands out as one of Johnson’s most unusual recordings, performed in a lively hokum style. Featuring brisk, jive-inflected
guitar and Johnson’s rapid-fire vocal delivery, the track has even been described as a possible precursor to early rap music.

Roy Porter Sound Machine's 1975 follow-up to their 1971 debut, Inner Feelings, drifted deeper into Blaxploitation-era grooves by layering flanged guitars, jazzy horns, undulating basslines and electric piano licks with plenty of the flair that defined their standout debut album, Jessica. Standout track 'Panama' gets its first 7" outing here via a Muro re-edit alongside the original vocal version. The instrumental has busy keys and punchy drums, while the vocal adds bustling character and playful conversation, bringing a lively narrative to the tight funk framework. A seamless bridge between jazz sophistication and cinematic soul that shows off Porter's adventurous spirit and groove mastery.

A collection of hit songs released at the time of the TV anime "Dragon Ball", including rare insert songs, has been reissued on clear orange vinyl. This is a truly one-star ball (Yishinchu) disc!

Towa Mafune is a rare singer-songwriter known for her gentle voice and warmly embracing melodic sensibility. As suggested by the title, means "Sleeping with the sea in my arms",
this record is a conceptual work inspired by Mafune’s upbringing in a seaside town and her lifelong connection with nature.
The album imagines a dialogue between the artist herself and natural elements such as the sea, wind, and light.

Layered arrangements featuring the album’s striking introductory piano, along with strings, horns, acoustic and nylon-string guitars, and rich vocal ensembles, create a liberating and

Billy Wooten's 'In This World' is a long-overdue gem from the golden age of soulful jazz-funk. Originally from his cult 1972 album, this P-Vine reissue makes it available on 7" wax for the first time ever, and Wooten's vibraphone magic is brought to life in full analogue warmth. Channelling that same mellow, sunlit energy as Roy Ayers, male-female vocal number 'In This World' drifts between blissed-out groove and spiritual elevation and is a track that feels like walking through light. American jazz keyboardist Hilton Felton, who also recorded a superb album as The Three of Us which is also being reissued right now, dropped his most classic full length A Man For All Reasons in 1980. It came on his own label and the reason it is so well thought of is that it has become a real staple of the rare groove scene thanks to how much of it get splayed by DJs and how many key collectors have it on their racks. This reissue, with an all new remastering, arrives via P-Vine with gems like the standout jazz funk gem 'Bee Bop Boogie' one of many of its tunes that are still rare groove classics.

Formed in 1969, Soul Media set out with a clear mission to fuse jazz and rock. That approach took a decisive next step with In The Groove, recorded in 1973. Here, the sharpness of jazz is brought to the forefront, rock elements are dissolved and refined to give a cutting edge, and funk is injected to add drive, elasticity, and physical force. This album is often described as Soul Media’s response to The Crusaders, a band that saxophonist Jiro Inagaki was paying close attention to at the time. The aim hit its mark. Recorded in the wake of Dr. King's assassination, this 1969 single from Mississippi-born, Chicago-raised Syl Johnson stands as one of the starkest and most soul-wrenching protest songs ever committed to tape. Built around a slow, smouldering groove and the raw ache of Johnson's vocal, 'Is It Because I'm Black' is less a call to arms than a question hung in the air-resigned, frustrated, defiant. The Pieces of Peace deliver a restrained but deeply felt arrangement: skeletal drums, moody bass, mournful horns, all circling Johnson's voice like a sermon in minor key. What could feel like despair instead pulses with something tougher-dignity, clarity, and a refusal to shut up. The record would later be sampled by Wu-Tang and reinterpreted in Jamaica, but nothing quite matches the grit and sorrow of the original. A landmark in American soul music, whispered more than shouted.

This is the 1978 debut album by Carioca, one of Japan’s leading Brazilian fusion units of the 1970s and 1980s.
The group began as the backing band for Kiyoshi Hasegawa, and on this debut release they used the name "Samba Calioca." True to that
band name, they were quite unusual at the time for presenting samba and bossa nova with a resort-flavored sound, and they also
produced specialists such as drummer Antonio Ishida and guitarist Masami Sato. This highly club-popular first album also features a
diverse lineup of guest musicians including Masayoshi Takanaka, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Shuichi "Ponta" Murakami, and Shigeharu Mukai.

This was the second release on AURA, the band’s own label established under Polydor, and their 13th studio album overall.

As a result, the album offers a fresh and lively sound that returns to the group’s roots.

Widely known as a support member for YMO and also popular on the overseas club music scene through Colored Music, her cuttingedge dance-pop unit with Atsuo Fujimoto, keyboardist, composer, and vocalist Ichiko Hashimoto released this, her second solo work, in
1985. Released on DOMO, the label headed by Kazumi Watanabe, and naturally produced by Kazumi Watanabe himself, who also plays
guitar on the album.
A truly crossover work of remarkable freedom, moving across fusion, techno, piano pieces, danceable music, classical, Japanesque
sounds, bossa nova, ambient, and more. Her fleeting singing voice is wonderful as well.

The Mighty Ryeders' rare groove classic Help Us Spread the Message has been remastered and reissued here because it forever remains a favourite with DJs and dancers. It's a timeless soul and funk blend with many a standout jams, not least 'Evil Vibrations,' a super cool and breezy groove famously sampled by De La Soul in 'A Roller Skating Jam Named Saturdays' and later covered by The Rebirth. Alongside funk staples like the aching beauty of 'Help Us Spread The Message' and the collector-favourite 'Let There Be Peace' the album blends rich horns, clavinet and deep grooves with great songwriting and vocal harmonies. Do not sleep on this masterpiece of funk.

Although it was only reissued last year, that sold out in quick time, so now it lands once more but as a nice coloured pressing of The Mighty Ryeders' delightful single 'Let There Be Peace.' An OG is a rare and pricey collector's item and for good reasons - its scorching funk with big horns and raw rhythms. The B-side features 'Evil Vibrations' by MURO aka King Of Diggin', famously sampled by De La Soul in their brilliant 'A Roller Skating Jam Named Saturdays.' It's another timeless sound that pairs funk and soul into something as likely to get big reactions now as ever, not least because of how silky the groove is.
