CARNIVORE is an American crossover / thrash metal band from Brooklyn, New York founded by singer and bassist Peter Steele, and was formed out of the breakup of the Brooklyn metal group FALLOUT in 1982. The first CARNIVORE album was heavily influenced by the contemporary New York metal scene. It also drew inspiration from BLACK SABBATH and early JUDAS PRIEST, whereas the second album had significant crossover influences. The "post-apocalyptic" theme that dominated the first album and was carried onto parts of the second album was apparently inspired by a dream Pete Steele had and which became the basis for the lyrics of "Predator", the first song from the original album. The lyrical theme was then expanded on to describe human society ( or the lack of one ) between imaginary World Wars III, IV and possibly V (as referenced in the song "World Wars III & IV"). Other lyrical themes included nihilism, anti-religious sentiment, cynicism, and explicit but tongue-in-cheek depictions of gore and despair. Song titles such as "Jesus Hitler", "Race War", "Thermonuclear Warrior" and "God is Dead" reflect these themes. In August 2017, it was announced that CARNIVORE would officially be reformed as CARNIVORE A.D., featuring original drummer Louie Beato and guitarist Marc Piovanetti along with secondary drummer Joe Branciforte sharing drum duties and also introducing new member Baron Misuraca as the bassist/vocalist. The band then made their live festival debut at the 2018 edition of Hellfest. CARNIVORE's "Retaliation" is a legendary and authentic metal/hc crossover album and an admittedly very heavy devastating wall of music with very much tongue in cheek lyrics. It became an absolute classic in the metal genre. It has remained unreleased for too many years and has now become very much in demand, now available again in Deluxe exclusive Limited edition 2LP vinyl and Digipack with no less than 3 bonus tracks ! Obwohl es nicht so raffiniert ist wie spätere Alben wie "Forced Entry" (2005), "Lightbringer" (2008), "Death" (2012) oder ihr neuestes Werk "The Throne Within", das 2019 über Metal Blade Records veröffentlicht wurde, sorgte "Sudden Impact" definitiv für Aufsehen, als es 2003 erschien, zu einer Zeit, als der traditionelle Heavy Metal noch von der alten Garde des Genres dominiert wurde. Im Jahr 2023 wurden BIG BIG TRAIN vom Publikum in ganz Großbritannien und Europa begeistert aufgenommen und krönten ihre Tournee mit zwei triumphalen Auftritten in der Londoner Cadogan Hall. "A Flare On The Lens" zeigt die komplette Show der Band in der Cadogan Hall vom zweiten ihrer beiden Auftritte im vergangenen Jahr und enthält außerdem sieben Songs, die nur am ersten Abend gespielt wurden. Der Blu-ray-Film dauert etwa 3 Stunden und enthält nicht weniger als 17 Songs plus ein Akustik-Medley mit 3 Liedern, darunter Favoriten aus dem Backkatalog wie "East Coast Racer", "Hedgerow", "Folklore", "Judas Unrepentant", "Curator Of Butterflies" und "Victorian Brickwork", die instrumentale Live-Tour de Force "Apollo" und die zukünftigen Klassiker "Love Is The Light" und "Oblivion". Die beiden letztgenannten Songs sind auf dem hochgelobten Studioalbum "The Likes Of Us" zu hören, das im März dieses Jahres veröffentlicht wurde. "A Flare On The Lens" ist der Beweis dafür, dass BIG BIG TRAIN auf dem Weg nach oben sind und sich als eine der überzeugendsten Live-Bands der Rockmusikszene etabliert haben. Current 93’s first and last album, NATURE UNVEILED dragged together my obsessions, as I had decided to make a pop album that dealt with my (then—as now!) primary fascinations: Christian apocalyptic and eschatological Christian texts.

In my Speed-Ridden Soul and Mind, I thought I was reinventing The Ronettes, and that the 2 long sides of NATURE UNVEILED were A- and B- Sides of a Wall Of Soundhogs HIT! But the reality is that I was sharing a squat in Vauxhall with Little Annie Anxiety, and hanging out with Youth in The BatCave, with chickens rescued by The Animal Liberation Front in our backyard. Or did that come soon after, soon later? The album was recorded at The Roundhouse Studios in London’s Chalk Farm, home of Bronze Records, the label of my heroes (then—as now!) Uriah Heep, and Motörhead too, for whom I had moved stage-gear on their tour promoting their debut single on Chiswick Records.

Anyway, anyway—I had not reinvented The Ronettes, though every time, every place, I listen to NATURE UNVEILED it Hits Me, And Feels Like A Judas Kiss. There has been NOTHING UNVEILED like NATURE UNVEILED, Before, Since, Or After.

Remastered by The Bricoleur at Bladud Flies!, and with the original artwork refreshed and reborn by Rob Hopeye, this 12” vinyl picture-disc comes in a full-colour die-cut sleeve, which is printed on both the outside and inside.

This is one of the first 4 reissues of the entire back catalogue of C93 on picture-disc and standard vinyl, in the lead-up to the publication of my autobiography at the end of 2025, whilst I also work on many other recording, publishing, and painting projects, and Watch And Pray! Each release in the picture-disc vinyl reissues series is limited to 1,000 copies, and the titles will not be repressed as picture-discs once they have sold out.

This album was a self imposed ambitious project for us. Something to kick in the creative flow. The last few years, having been a challenging time in general, felt like a good time for a pivot. The last two albums were so guitar and keyboard centric, I wanted a weird and fun set of parameters for us to work with. I demo’d everything at home on cassette 4 track (harkening back to simpler times) using drum loops, and just had at it 'til I had a pile of “songs”. Tom and I chose one sound each using synths and created a range of 3 octaves of that sample, then loaded them into Roland SPD-SX samplers and learned the transcribed songs using drum sticks. The idea was to change the way we wrote and to have 4 people along the front of the stage essentially playing percussion. So no guitar, no keys. As we were recording I kept thinking how the sounds, when paired up, sounded a bit like brass. So, we added a saxophone horn section to round out the horniness of the sound with a bit of reedy bell tones. Thanks to Cansfis Foote & Brad Caulkins on tenor and Baritone saxophones :) Sort of a Dexy’s Midnight Runners meets Von LMO meets The Flesh Eaters meets the Screamers kinda punk junk. Poppy and hooky, heavy at times.. Sort of vacuous and maybe a bit sci-fi in sound. Boneheaded in riff and heady in lyrics. Recorded at Stu-Stu-Studio by me on 8 track 1/4” tape . So pretty hot and raw. Lots to write about today. A lot of these lyrics were taken from things people said in passing about taking on life right now that stuck with me. Things that made me reflect. Things that made me laugh. Things that made me WTF. Some folks are kind, genuine & give you love and energy. Some are greedy manipulative ghouls who hang off your veins. You must be strong, composed and take care of yourself. Be self aware and check your mind for cracks. Learn to relax and be well. There are moments of beauty and redemption. Julian Dawson feiert am 04. Juli seinen siebzigsten Geburtstag und nimmt die Gelegenheit wahr, dies mit vielen Musikerinnen und Musikern zu tun, mit denen er im Laufe seiner über 40jährigen Karriere zusammenarbeiten konnte. Ein bunter Mix von neuen Songs, bisher Unveröffentlichtem und Klassikern, die Dawson mit seiner Band um ein paar neue Zutaten bereichert hat. Unter anderem singt er zusammen mit Lucinda Williams "How can I sleep without you" in einer neuen Version. Das Original war 1991 ein Single-Hit in Deutschland. Weiterhin gibt es ein Stück mit Nicky Hopkins, dessen Klavierpart der legendäre Sessionmusiker kurz vor seinem Tod einspielte, sowie eine Coverversion des NDW-Hits "Codo", für den Dawson seine alten Weggefährten Stoppok und Wolfgang Niedecken gewinnen konnte.

One look at the axe-wielding marauder (drawn by famed heavy metal illustrator Edward Repka) on the front of this album and you know it’s not for the faint of heart. Canadian metal band 3 Inches of Blood’s musical attack (an appropriate term indeed) featured a unique, dual lead vocal line-up of Cam Pipes on “clean” vocals and Jamie Hooper on “screaming” vocals, with bludgeoning guitars (okay, axes) provided by Sunny Dhak and Bobby Froese (Dhak, Froese, and drummer Matt Wood left after this album to form Pride Tiger). Though this record came out in 2004 on the Roadrunner label, it wears its ‘80s metal allegiances on its sleeve, harkening back to the vein-popping intensity of vintage Judas Priest and Accept. Remastered on its 20th anniversary for an orange and black “ashen dawn” vinyl pressing, with a full-color inner sleeve sporting lyrics. Storm the castle!

Originally released in 1970, Medusa was recorded at Morgan Studios, and was produced by The Moody Blues bassist John Lodge. The line-up of Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Mel Galley (Whitesnake), and Dave Holland (Judas Priest) recorded this album and the follow up You Are the Music... We're Just the Band in 1972 before that line-up disbanded when Hughes left in 1973 to join Deep Purple. Medusa has not been released on vinyl since 1979 and now has been fully remastered and comes on amber vinyl with purple, green and black splatter - 180-gram vinyl and a beautiful gatefold sleeve (limited to 250 copies pressed).

Originally released in 1972, You Are the Music... We're Just the Band was recorded with producer Neil Slaven. The line-up of Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Mel Galley (Whitesnake), and Dave Holland (Judas Priest) recorded this album before disbanding later that year when Hughes left in 1973 to join Deep Purple. You Are the Music... We're Just the Band also featured a wide range of guest performers, including guitarist B. J. Cole, pianist Rod Argent and saxophonist Jimmy Hastings. You Are the Music... zuvor war alles von COVID-19 zerstört worden. 2022 war also das Jahr, in dem wir aktiv wurden. Große Festivals kontaktierten uns, das deutsche
Fernsehen und so weiter. Rockhard, Sweden Rock, Brutal Assault und Copenhell. Die Bühne mit Bands wie KISS, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Mercyful

"Whiskey For The Holy Ghost" ist das zweite Soloalbum von MARK LANEGAN und erschien ursprünglich am 18. Januar 1994. Es baut auf dem Roots Music Fundamet auf, das LANEGAN mit seinem Solodebüt "The Winding Sheet" errichtete. Sistro (Sistrum) is a kind of percussion instrument that has had several incarnations and names in various cultures since the time of the Sumerians and throughout history has always been associated with religious rituals. It’s from this relationship between music and the transcendent that Nuno Oliveira (Nuno O, Judas Triste, José Pinhal Post-Mortem Experience), Tito Silva (Vasco da Ganza, José Pinhal Post-Mortem Experience) and Rodolfo Oliveira (Oficinas TK) were gradually inspired to create a trio that pays homage to this instrument of ancient times.

The project was born casually and without intentionality throughout several incursions into megalithic monuments in the hills and mountains of northern Portugal, culminating in an unusual two-day session of musical experimentation in Esposende, in September 2019. In this two-day session, codenamed “Arménio Sessions”, the trio explored a sound based on sea soundscapes, electronic beats, electric noises and the strings of na altered guitar. Channeling the strength of the elements and the mystique of the place in the form of a musical experience.

In 2021, Sistro collaborated with Mario Klingemann (aka Quasimondo) who created a music video especially for the band, created using a vintage video mixing board. Then using feedback loops and a process that Klingemann calls “Neural Edit”, which uses an artificial intelligence algorithm to correlate the raw video material with the sound.

After a long period of incubation, the group's first full-length release sees the light of day on the 31th October, 2023, moment in which a sequence of rituals begins to present and celebrate the relationship between music and the transcendent. Upon hitting play on the opening prologue track of BATS, it's safe to assume that we're about to embark on quite the journey - with GAMA BOMB as our intrepid tour guides. From the tombs of Egypt to the faded glamour of old Hollywood, Philly, Domo, John, Joe and James lead us through new sonic landscapes and all manner of novel adventures on what they themselves call their "weirdest" album yet. Sonically, GAMA BOMB manage to stay true to their distinctive thrash sound, honed to perfection over two decades at the frontline of headbanging and fist-pumping. There are nods to heavy metal titans such as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, there's even a sliver of Bad Brains-esque punk attitude, and more familiar influences such as Tankard and Sodom are still evident. But if you think GAMA BOMB are serving up something run of the mill then you've clearly not accounted for a blazing saxophone solo (courtesy of Irish sax man Gavin Kerins) or a star-turn from hip hop pioneer The Egyptian Lover who raps on - naturally - Egyptron. BATS is an album that could only be borne from GAMA BOMB; on this, their eighth studio album, they have embraced their inner absurdities, they've taken a trust fall into each other's arms, relying on the idiosyncratic glue that has bound them together over the last 21 years to propel them forwards.
