I had been hanging out with Mick Tucker and we’d talked about putting together a “new” Rock line-up of Sweet after the hiatus of the original band. I had recruited Phil Lanzon on keyboards and Mal McNulty on bass, now we needed the Voice! Paul Mario Day walked in and we looked no further. Paul was the original singer with Iron Maiden and had a stint with the band More before he joined Sweet. Our first dates were in Australia, total sell-outs which boded well for the future. Europe followed suit and 3 sold out nights at the original Marquee Club in London produced a live album, video and DVD. “Live at the Marquee” did well in various charts around the world and Paul’s vocal performance has stood the test of time. There were also tracks recorded at Pacific Studios in London which feature Paul’s incredible vocals. These recordings were meant to be the start of a new phase for Sweet but due to a management dispute only 4 tracks were released. Sadly Paul is no longer with us but the legacy is right here for everyone to appreciate.

No-one could have predicted the success of The 88, the first album from Minuit
(minwee), or how warmly it would be received. Equally no-one could have predicted that the band would return to the live arena a decade after their final fling or consider pressing their debut on vinyl for the first time.

Formed in Nelson, NZ in 1997, the trio cut their teeth playing regularly around the South Island’s underground club and festival scene. After a hiatus overseas, they began recording The 88 in 2002 in Ryan’s home studio. The lyrics were influenced by their travels around Europe and Ruth's time working for the UN in Kosovo and East Timor; the beats by The Prodigy, Portishead and the UK’s trip-hop and breakbeat scenes.

Signed to indie label Tardus, their tunes were eagerly picked up by the bNet student radio network, which then ballooned into high rotates on TV station C4, helped along by Alyx Duncan’s stunning video for Except You. A busy summer playing live every weekend for three months and seemingly universal praise from the music press led to them swiftly gaining gold sales.

Now 22 years later, with live shows looming, the trio have decided to revisit their debut, completing two previously unfinished tracks from the period to add a bonus to this inaugural vinyl release.

More than half a century into its existence, heavy metal still prowls as a living force in the dark, and Vancouver's SPELL summon that spirit with defiant conviction on their fifth album, 'Wretched Heart'. Corsica Forever!

After years of shaping dancefloors worldwide and carefully curating the sonic and visual identity of Up The Stuss, Dutch favourite Chris Stussy presents his most expansive and personal statement to date with his debut album, ‘Lost, Found & Forgotten...’. Landing on 3rd April, the album unfolds across three interconnected chapters - ‘Lost’, ‘Found’, and ‘Forgotten’ - each revealing a different side of his creative world across 19 tracks while remaining tethered to a singular wider vision.

At its core, ‘Lost, Found & Forgotten...’ is an exploration of creative freedom. Visually and conceptually guided by the image of a kite, the album reflects movement, perspective, and balance. Floating freely yet always anchored, the kite mirrors Chris’s approach to music: unrestricted in emotion and imagination, but grounded in groove, craftsmanship, and intention. It’s a symbol that naturally extends the Up The Stuss identity; pointing skyward, embracing openness, and encouraging curiosity.

“This album has been a long time in the making, and I’m excited to finally share it with you. The process behind it - exchanging ideas with other artists and creating music outside of my comfort zone - has been an incredible experience. It gave me a true sense of freedom, allowing me to not think about boundaries or expectations. I’ve never been more proud of a project than this one. The ‘Lost’ chapter opens the album by giving new life to music once left behind. These are tracks written across different moments in Chris’s journey, ideas that never quite found a home until now. Rather than relics of the past, they emerge re-discovered, refined, and fully realised. ‘

Found’ represents inspiration in motion. Sparked by collaboration, digging, and shared creative exchange, this chapter captures the moment when ideas connect, and colour floods the sky.

The album closes with ‘Forgotten’ - a nod to the deeper cuts, the B-sides, and the moments that reward patience. This chapter is for the heads and diggers; tracks that may not demand immediate attention but reveal their value over time.

Smallville is happy to welcome Axel Fischer aka El Kazed to the family, proudly presenting his very own SXB Deep Tales, hitting the stores worldwide in May 2026 as Part 1 & 2. El Kazed is a DJ & producer from Strasbourg, France. Together with a group of like-minded friends, he is running Ordinaire Records– a vinyl imprint fully dedicated to House music. The collective is throwing parties and a festival, building an underground house community in the heart of the Alsace Region.
Next to releases on his own imprint, El Kazed also appeared on Chez Damiers' „House Of Chez“ label, contributing a track to catalogue number 01, as well as releasing on Brawther's Interweaved label. On SXB Deep Tales, he delivers 8 amazing tracks, stretched onto two 12“ parts, containing all the quintessentials of house music, driving cuts next to deepest shades, solo work as well as collaborations with friends- the result is magical.

Celebrated producer and musician Danger Mouse and prodigiously talented New York rapper Jemini are gearing up to release their long delayed collaborative album, Born Again Remarkably this soul and funk infused hip-hop tour de force arrives two decades after its creation and the duo's debut LP, Ghetto Pop Life which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Enthused by the response to Ghetto Pop Life, soon after Danger Mouse and Jemini began to tour and to write and record Born Again. Finally, having been recorded two decades ago and indefinitely shelved until now, Born Again will finally be released to coincide with the twentieth anniversary of Ghetto Pop Life. The previously unheard record retains many of the elements of Danger Mouse and Jemini's debut; the fun- loving, shit- talking innocence, but also adopts a noticeably more introspective and confessional tone. This time, in addition to lighthearted topics such as being an incredible artist (Knuckle Sandwich II, Brooklyn Basquiat), living large and being a magnet for attention (Me), Jemini also delivers highly- personal and occasionally devastating lyrics about missed opportunities and redemption (All I, Born Again), his time in prison (Locked Up) and complicated relationship with his father (Dear Poppa). Detroit Techno Militia! Based in Detroit, J.Garcia has been a stalwart in Detroit’s underground music scene. DTM009 is his first release on Detroit Techno Militia. In the classic DTM tradition: all three cuts are aggressive to the core. They display harder side of the beat-down that Detroit Techno music delivers.

This relatively new Stockholm duo have been making waves with their latest vinyl output. This EP conveys their love for the disco house sounds of Chicago, spearheaded by the likes of DJ Sneak. ‘Spoon Bait’ leads the way using an almost dreamlike vocal hook over a deep bass led groove with dub effects to boot. ‘Tuborg Translate’ picks up the tempo, chopping up a Philly style hook, underpinned by crisp beats and otherworldly space effects. Title track ‘Silja Line Superstar’ keeps the peak-time action going utilising warm emotive strings and brass whilst ‘Kenneth Knaster’ bounces along on a sublime disco ride bringing the EP to a close.

“Bluegold steps into the world as a ground for trance-inducing rhythm and collective movement. Rooted in techno but never bound to it, the sound leans toward the psychedelic: loops, atmospheres, and ritual percussion that blur perception and guide the floor into altered states.
The A side comes from Mruda, written during a day of turmoil where conflict and chaos spilled directly into sound. Machines were left to chance, generating unstable pulses that mirror the volatility of the moment.

Archypness takes the B side as a counterweight, drawing the energy inward. His productions move with a meditative focus, weaving rich textures and layered rhythms into journeys that feel timeless yet deeply grounded.”

Chicken Shack are a British blues rock band founded in 1965 by Stan Webb, Andy Silvester, and Alan Morley, who were later joined by Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie, then still known as Christine Perfect. They signed to the legendary British blues label Blue Horizon in 1967.

O.K. Ken? is the band's second studio album from 1969 and reached #9 in the UK Albums Chart. The record was Perfect's last album as a member of Chicken Shack; she would join Fleetwood Mac a year later in July 1970. Her tune "Get Like You Used to Be" from the album became a staple of Fleetwood Mac's live act until 1975.
