World Party was a musical group, predominantly the solo project of its sole consistent member, the songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Karl Wallinger. Wallinger started the band in 1986 in London after leaving the Waterboys.
Featuring the #2 most downloaded/ streamed hit Is It Like Today?, small limited runs of each World Party album (5 total) will be pressed on white vinyl, with the run marketed as “The White Albums”, cheekily referring to Karl’s re-recording of The Beatles and his fans eternal quest to hear them.
Magnus Carlson and The Moon Ray Quintet join forces for a new album of inspired vocal jazz versions of some of their favourite music. Carlson is known as the vocalist of Weeping Willows, and The Moon Ray Quintet features members of top Swedish jazz acts Oddjob, Goran Kajfes Tropiques, La La Lars, etc. Together they form arrangements that capture the beauty of each song while bringing something fresh to the table. The Moon Ray Quintet was formed in 2009 around singer Magnus Carlson during a break from the band Weeping Willows which had been his musical habitat for over a decade. In the artistic vacuum he experienced then, he met jazz musician and producer Goran Kajfes in a bar. The two gentlemen had crossed paths musically before although this moment resulted in ideas that would lead Magnus career in a whole new direction. Also, it give birth to a brand new band consisting of a number of highly sought-after jazz musicians.

Shows zu spieln. Ende '81 gingen sie in ein lokales Tonstudio in Costa Mesa und nahmen an einem Nachmittag neun Songs auf, bis ihnen das Geld ausging - 300 Dollar gut angelegt! Eine Kassette wurde rasch kopiert und herumgereicht. Eine Kopie der Kassette wurde KevinSeconds bei einem Gig mit 7 Seconds in Reno gegeben. Kevin gab sie an Tim Yohannan von Maximum Rocknroll weiter. Schließlich gelangte sie in die Hände von Felix Alanis von Smoke Seven und Greg Shaw von Bomp. Mitte 1982 waren M.I.A. dann auf drei Vinyl-Veröffentlichungen vertreten: "Tell Me Why" auf der Compilation American Youth Report von Bomp, "New Left" auf Maximum Rocknroll Presents: Not So Quiet On the Western Front von Alternative Tentacles und acht der neun Tracks landeten auf der berüchtigten Split-LP mit Last Rites auf Smoke Seven. Alle 9 Tracks des ersten Tapes sind hier versammelt, zum ersten Mal richtig abgemischt. Der Begin von M.I.A. Atsuko Niina's debut album released by Teichiku in 1983. All songs are covers of Western songs, with 9 songs having Japanese lyrics and only the fifth song having
English lyrics. In recent years, its reputation among city pop and Japanese jazz fans has skyrocketed, and it is now at a premium on the used market!
The album features Japanese lyrics for such bossa nova classics as "One Note Samba" "Ipanema no Musume" "Wave" and "Oishii Mizu" as well as American popular
tunes like “MR.Bojangles” “Asu ni Kakeru Hashi”. covers of such American favorites as "Xasas Xasas Xasas" and "Besame Mucho".
Sound production was done by Jun Irie, who was active as a member of Logic System, and arrangements were shared with Hirotaka Izumi, who was also a member
of The Square at the time. The Square and guitarist Kenji Kitajima participated in the backing.
The entire album has a high quality city pop and fusion sound, with the overwhelming highlight being the high-speed samba arrangement of "Man or Boy (Ipanema no Musume).
