Xan Tyler is an English vocalist and songwriter, her voice has been described as
crystalline" by Pitchfork and "extraordinary" by Uncut - Xan has had an extensive
career after getting her start as backing vocalist for Death Bang Party as a teenager.
She went on to be half of electro pop duo Technique signed to Creation Records. She
has collaborated with the likes of Timo Mass, Martin Buttrich and Mad Professor. Her
first solo album Holding Up Half The Sky was released by Last Night From Glasgow in
May 2024. Dusty Stray is Amsterdam-based, US-raised alt-folk songwriter Jonathan
Brown. He has released six albums as Dusty Stray starting in 2009. His latest solo
album is Fire Place, released in 2023. Big Takeover described the album as "brave"
and "authentic".

"Tief gestimmter, düsterer und brutaler Texas Death Metal", lautet die kompromisslose Antwort von Terror Corpse-Schlagzeuger Dobber Beverly, wenn er gebeten wird, sein neuestes Monstrum zu beschreiben.

Terror Corpse wurde 2025 gegründet, besteht jedoch aus Veteranen der US-Underground-Szene und ist aus den Überresten von Malignant Altar hervorgegangen, wo sie dort weitermachen, wo ihre Vorgänger aufgehört haben – immer noch in Zusammenarbeit mit Dark Descent Records.

Das Album wurde vollständig vom Schlagzeuger selbst produziert und hat einen ebenso unverwechselbaren wie vernichtenden Sound. Vom ersten hämmernden Kick-Drum-Schlag an, zu dem sich bald eine markerschütternde Bassline gesellt, lässt Ash Eclipses Flesh seinen unerbittlichen Griff nie locker.

„Ich wollte im Wesentlichen einen extrem tief gestimmten Celtic-Frost-Gitarrensound mit einer modernen und großzügigen, natürlichen Drum-Aufnahme. Großer Raum, große Drum-Sounds. Dazu noch ein paar höhlenartige, tiefe Vocals im Stil von Craig Pillard und Bassgitarre, und schon hat man unseren Sound.“

Die Verehrung der Band für das Erbe von Celtic Frost zeigt sich auch im letzten Song des Albums, einem Cover von „Into the Crypts of Rays“. Dobber macht keinen Hehl aus den Einflüssen von Terror Corpse: „Disciples Of Mockery, Incantation, Morbid Angel vor den 2000er Jahren; im Wesentlichen älterer böser amerikanischer Death Metal. Celtic Frost hat uns alle massiv beeinflusst. Von ihren primitiven und gewalttätigen Anfängen bis hin zur ultra-experimentellen und dunklen Ära ihrer späteren Alben.“

Musikalisch ist „Hey Tú!“ ein aggressiver, treibender Track, der sofort in Bewegung versetzt. Hocicos typisches Industrial-Venom trifft auf kantige EBM-beats und kreiert eine Energie, die Körper und Seele gleichermaßen befeuert. Es ist vor allem das explosive Zusammenspiel von Erk Aicrags gnadenloser Wut und Rafael Reyes’ ungehaltener Provokation, das den Song auf ein ganz neues Level hebt. Der Song prangert Heuchelei an, entlarvt Opferrollen als Machtspiel, und holt sich in jeder gebrüllten Zeile die eigene Stärke zurück. Der Refrain „Hey tú! come mierda“ wird zum gnadenlosen Schlachtruf. Und in Reyes Worten „Without me, your name carries no fucking weight“ ist die Botschaft eindeutig: Es geht um Vermächtnis, um Verrat, und um das unerschütterliche Selbstbewusstsein jener, die ihre Narben mit Stolz tragen. „Hey Tú!“ ist ein musikalischer Mittelfinger an Blender, Mitläufer und spirituelle Hochstapler. Athens based Aris Kokou debuts on Cataleya Music with a seriously deep EP. Think Ron Trent, Coflo or vintage Osunlade. Kokou is a seasoned producer, who released Drum&Bass on Good Looking and Tech grooves on Plastic City Suburbia with Bill Makris in the early 2000s. In recent times, he has been making the sort of Deep, Soulful and Afro influenced House we hear on Kalypso’s Island. The lead cut A Woman is a swinging hip shaker with grooving keys and thought provoking spoken vocals from SingTrece. The keys really fly on the Instrumental. Azymuth with Moulton Music regular Phaze Dee has the sort of jazzy vibe that you would expect. The EP finishes with the gorgeous flute and guitar driven Sacred Kalypso. This is one of the deepest and most spiritually aware EPs on Cataleya Music so far!

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of Summer of Love, originally a Bandcamp-exclusive, Torus released it on all streaming platforms in September. The limited edition vinyl is now available for preorder. The 12'' double-sided black vinyl is packaged in a double-holed front sleeve and complemented by a custom orange inner sleeve, paying homage to the double sun motif featured on the digital cover. Master's Hammer, die sich nie darum gekümmert haben, sich anzupassen, weigern sich, sich auf bestimmte Genres festlegen zu lassen und nach den Regeln anderer zu spielen, was zu vielen höchst originellen Alben geführt hat, die sich jeder Kategorisierung entziehen. Obwohl »Maldorör Disco« unverkennbar Master's Hammer ist, ist es wahrscheinlich ihr bisher experimentellstes und am wenigsten nach Black Metal klingendes Album.

The second release on Samurai Music sub label Saibai welcomes Italian sound-world-builder Pianeti Sintetici for a richly rendered foray into dynamic electronica that moves like a set of vibrant ecosystems.

Davide Perrone has developed his Pianeti Sintetici ('synthetic planets') alias to explore the idea of creating imaginary worlds through teeming, densely layered arrangements of modulating synthesis. He's previously delivered spellbinding albums and EPs to respected labels like Astral Industries and Hypnus. On SAIBAI2, Perrone ably blurs the lines between percussive, textural and melodic parts, letting voices bend and warp as each sound evolves through the labyrinthe lattice of his constructions. This is electronic music so dynamic and ever-shifting, it sounds positively sentient, and yet there's a strong emotional sentiment that binds these fantastic visions together as sincere expressions from a grounded, human perspective.

True to Saibai's focus on deeper, mellower flights of fantasy away from the dancefloor, SAIBAI2 offers a kinetic, engaging listening experience dressed up in opulent tones that gleam, shimmer, bend and flex with hypnotising dexterity.

Geht Palmöl nun klar oder ist die Abholzung des Regenwaldes am Ende etwa eine Riesensauerei - die Welt teilt sich in zwei Lager. Fridays for Future, regionale Kleinbauern und Orang Utans scheinen sich einig: geht eher nicht so klar. Hier halten wiederum ausgewiesene Klima-Experten dagegen, z.B. Jan Leyk (bekannt aus "Berlin Tag & Nacht"). Der sagt nämlich, dass die "bekackte Tofuwurst dafür sorgt, dass verschissen nochmal die Regenwälder abgeholzt werden". Palmöl, Facepalm - whatever_ Was hat das jetzt alles mit dem neuen Album des linksgrünversifften Punk-Quartetts Akne Kid Joe am Hut? Die sind Team Orang Utan und FFF, soviel erstmal dazu. Aber steht denn wirklich alles im Zeichen der Verschwörungstheorie? Wer aufgrund des Album-Titels nun eine Konzept-LP gegen nutella und co. vermutet, muss leider enttäuscht werden. Wie schon auf Karate Kid Joe wird sich hier auch wild echauffiert, die Palette ist nun aber deutlich breiter. Zentrale Themen sind - klar, Verschwörungstheorie - aber auch linke Klassiker wie Vaterlandsverrat, Saufen und Beamtenbeleidigung. Mitunter wird es auf der neuen Scheibe aber auch richtig deep, z.B. mit einer 1,5 minütigen Nacherzählung eines Beziehungsendes im Italien Urlaub. Oder der Frage was nun besser ist - "Free Hugs" oder "Love Yourself" T-Shirts.

Agathe Plaisance, a self-taught visual artist and musician, creates a universe where the softness of folk origins gradually metamorphoses, giving way to sonic explorations that push the door open to other worlds. Her light-and-dark electronic pop plunges us into her inner world, with deeply intimate lyrics about illness, addiction, the relationship with oneself and with others. Through a live performance of continuous tension, the woman in the making explores herself and seeks to transcend her pain in order to reinvent herself. With this new album, Agathe Plaisance delivers an intense and introspective work, born from a period of deep depression.
