Mana is producer and composer Daniele Mana from Torino in Italy. His debut EP for Hyperdub, 'Creature', is also the first under his own surname. It's one of his most vivid, personal and confident releases to date. Since 2010, he has been releasing under the moniker Vaghe Stelle, with EPs and two full length albums on labels such as Gang of Ducks, Aisha Devi's Danse Noire, Astro:Dynamics and most recently, Nicolas Jaar's Other People records. He is also a member of One Circle with Lorenzo Senni and soundtracks composer Francesco Fantini. On 'Creature', over eight tracks, he ingests Shostakovitch, Drexciya, Darkthrone, Frank Ocean and Paul Lansky, and refashions them into an almost operatic record - a rich, melodrama of dark tension and excitable in-your-face synth melodies. In using his own name for the first time, he says he is confronting the unfiltered, brutal truth' of his self, compressing tension and anxiety' into a claustrophobic sense of emotional vacuum.' From the skulking clockwork of 'Crystaline,' the rich drifting ambience of 'Sei Nove', to the panicky, rushy rave stabs meets horror theme of 'Running Man', it's lucid, dynamic synth music which uses drums sparingly, but occasionally swirls into little sublime vortices of arpeggiated hyperrhythm. The melodies are bright and pitch bent, swollen by euphoric voltage surges and stuttering, soaring strings in 'Rabbia', plucking wide-screen, heart strings on 'Uno e Solo' and lulling down into the delicate, shimmering prisms of 'Wetlife' and 'Consolations'. While in its own lane, 'Creature' feels totally at home on Hyperdub.

DC175 comes courtesy of Alias, a new project comprising of Harvey & Ryan McKay, who are two acts who have previously released solo material on the label. Harvey McKay's last appearance was in late 2016 when he dropped 'The Mad Drummer' on A-Sides Vol. 4 whereas Ryan McKay's last outing was in 2015 when he appeared on A-Sides Vol.3 under the name Skiver. This is the first collaborative project between the Scottish duo under their new moniker Alias.The EP opens with 'Pentatonic'; A tough sounding track that has been designed for the forward-thinkers. 'The Truth' follows up sharply, with vintage piano stabs and a vocal that gives the track abounding energy. The on-point percussion leads you on a trip of pure rapture. The release closes with the apocalyptic 'Dream Taker', which is teeming with sinister vocal action and hostile synth work and a sublime way to sign off.

After reaching its 10th year of existence, Secretsundaze will finally launch its 12" singles label in May 2011, as well as re-launching the critically acclaimed compilation series.
Secretsundaze, created and run by school friends Giles Smith and James Priestley is of course best known for its summertime Sunday parties which have become the stuff of legend, attracting DJs from the world of House and Techno such as Carl Craig, Ricardo Villalobos, Kenny Larkin, Efdemin, Cassy and Chez Damier. The boys have taken the party across the world with regular sessions at Panorama Bar, Robert Johnson, Ibiza and as far a field as Japan and New York.

Detroit's Burden Bros have long been looked upon with immense respect within contemporary dance music. Having been in operation since 1990 with their 430 West imprint they have long encapsulated the forward thinking vibe of Detroit Techno with their output over the last 20+ years, gaining praise from their motor city peers as well as fans worldwide. Jos & Eli might seem unknown to many electronic music lovers but they have been releasing great music since 2013. They have been sending me music for a long time and I think we have spend about a year developing this first release on Noir Music, making sure it represented their debut on the label perfectly. When you hear the Adrenaline Hunt release you will notice that the 2 guys from Tel-Aviv have developed into a great production team over the years and these 3 tracks included here are not only cleverly crafted for the deeper dancefloors but can also be enjoyed on home stereo's. Opener 'Obscured Mind' features immense vocal-work by Jinadu and the song is wrapped in delicious and constantly intensified deephouse flavours whereas 'Initiation' has a more tribal, dubby and africanism edge to it. On the title track 'Adrenaline Hunt' which we build the EP aound things get a little more tech, darker and closer to what you would typically expect from Noir Music. Not only am I always excited to have new artists and talents on the label but I feel Jos & Eli bring a new dimension to Noir Music as well.

with his third album 'vin ploile' the bucharest, romania based producer, musician and dj petre in-spirescu captured a whole new audience in 2015 and reached out with minimal leftfield ambient sounds to music loving folks, that are not part of the world-wide dance music universe.
well known as one of the key figures of the romanian electronic dance music scene since his first ep 'tips' on luciano's label cadenza, inspirescu stepped away from club sounds that made him famous due to releases on labels like vinyl club, lick my deck or amphia.
also his two solo albums 'intr-o seara organica...' and 'gradina onirica', both released on (a:rpia:r), the record label he initiated with his buddies rhadoo and raresh in 2007, do not have much in common with the sound of 'vin ploile' - a mesmerizing deeply musical album that he only tuned in with some elements of piano, string and wind instruments as well as analogue electronics.
at the end of 2015 his nine slow swinging arrangements where celebrated in many polls and now, just a bit more than one year after the release of 'vin ploile' petre inspirescu delivers 'vîntul prin salcii' - another longplayer enlarged with seven, up to epic twelve minutes long arrangements, that continue where 'vin ploile' ceased.
they all listen to the name 'miroslav' and only differ numerically in their title. you can call them ambi-ent. you can call them minimal music in the sense of classic compositions by steve reich or terry riley. they groove - sometimes more, sometimes less. and they spread the sounds of flutes or saxophones, delicate piano figures, organic jazz drumming, arpeggiated analogue synth-lines, mesmerizing strings, choral singing, alienated looped vocals and spaced out new aged spheres.
what unites them all is the way, the melodies dance upon and in each single tune. their beautiful tex-tures ensnare and they are continuously engaged with experimentation. a mystical album full of evolu-tionary music to which each listener is able to paint his very own emotional picture. moody, dark and at the same time light-flooded shape-shifting compositions - made for those who love to surrender them-selves to a gentle dance between experimentation and attractiveness.
the cover artwork for petre inspirescu's album was made again by the illustrator and photographer julian vassallo, who's artistic works fascinate with a touching spirit of distance, that captures the truth in each single motif. just like petre inspirescu's music, only that his art grooves with notes that tell somehow: there is no truth. there is only perception.

"An einem Samstag im Februar hatte ich eine großartige Nacht als DJ im Oval Space in London. In der Mitte meines Sets brachte ich '1-4 Doctor C'est Chouette'. Ein Fan kam zur DJ-Kanzel um mich zu fragen was ich spielte. Als ich ihm sagte, daß es einer meiner neuen Tracks sei, erwiderte er - zu meiner Überraschung - 'Da ist soviel Melancholie in dem Track, woran hast du gedacht als du ihn gemacht hast' Seine Frage traf einen tiefsitzenden Nerv: er verstand was ich gefühlt habe, als ich den Track machte - ist das nicht, worum's in der Musik geht Aber muss ich ihm wirklich die ganze Geschichte erzählen Es war weder die Zeit noch der Ort um ein tiefsinniges Gespräch anzufangen, also lächelte ich ihn einfach nur an und dankte ihm für seinen Enthusiasmus.

The Dutch producer, composer and recording artist born in Vught, The Netherlands in 1967.

From 1987 to 2007 he has used over two dozen aliases producing Detroit techno, electro, house, experimental and ambient tracks and remixes.
Early 2008 he announced to only use his real name (or his initials MVDV) for future releases.

During the 90's he recorded mainly dance/techno for R&S Records, Outrage Recordings, Apollo Records (Belgium), Djax-Up-Beats, See Saw, ESP and Klang Elektronik and several other labels. Since 1996 he is also releasing music on his own label Signum Recordings. The two sublabels of Signum; Passiflora and Glam, are now both defunct.

He is the founder of Signum Recordings, Passiflora Records and Glam Records.

The solution: the sub machine gun.From Reason to Ritual is Rude 66´s most ambitious album to date. Amsterdam´s premier electronic musician maps the rise and fall of terrorism over two slabs of wax. Gruesome naivety, one that led to countless deaths, is given an electro beat on the first record, 'Reason.' Warbling wave vocals from Ruud's wife Shaunna tell a bitter tale of paranoia and looming violence. That violence is truly realised on the second record 'Ritual.' Beats rain like shards of broken glass, constricted acid and echo as the enemy closes in for the final hollow defeat. An album that takes you from manifesto to death march.

West Africa's most iconic dance-band are back. A decade on from their last album and almost half a century since their formation, Senegal's Orchestra Baobab return with a timeless set of classic, swaying tunes fusing Afro-Cuban rhythms and African tradition in the group's trademark style.

Manchester-based producer Cleric continues to grow through his own Clergy imprint with the label's 7th release, Rules Of Reality. The EP is an exercise in fully-focused. highly-distilled techno purity, leading first with a perpetuating drum groove offset against an icy stab on 'Unwritten Future'. Next, 'Unspoken Rules' channels the same minimalistic aesthetic into a more hypnotic mood, driving deeper down into a land of introspection with tension-laced percussion and hovering chords, whilst 'Unwanted Arrival' exhausts the pressure with its mind-comsuming acid pattern, followed by the more exposed, cinematic 'Beatless Mix'.
