Based on the Irvine Welsh novel of the same name, the film version of 'Trainspotting' directed by Danny Boyle became a cult sensation. Focused on the heroin subculture of Edinburgh in the 1980s, the film is occupied with surrealism, black comedy and features a great soundtrack. This album includes tracks from Iggy Pop, New Order, Blur, Underworld and many more.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic drama, the original soundtrack is being reissued on CD and vinyl. Having been out of print for a long time, the 180g vinyl features replica original artwork that includes special silver spot finishes throughout - front, back, booklet and picture labels, as well as bright pantones. There will be a limited run on orange vinyl before moving to black once sold out.

Adam Beyer's Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno's number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary.

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn't fit in their regular EP release schedule.

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label's established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode's multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional.

Led by the stealth techno funk of 'Nine of You', Beyer's deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck.

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O'Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016.


Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

Originally released on Studio !K7 Records in 1998, Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister's groundbreaking release, 'The K&D Sessions' reset the bar for what could be achieved in a compilation. Across an array of original tracks, dubs and infamous 'K&D Session' remixes, the DJ and producer duo took the listener on a smoke-filled blunted journey that flowed flawlessly.
Often compared to DJ Shadow's 'Endtroducing' for it's similarly deft craft of rhythm and quoted by Allmusic as "the most blissfully blunted music the world has ever heard", the album has sold over 1,000,000 copies to date and was included in Spin's 'Top 20 albums of 1999'.The album has long since been deleted on Vinyl with original 4LP sets changing hands for €300+ on the collectors market and even a bootleg vinyl copy will set a buyer back over €100. Sixteen years later, this legendary album will be available as a long overdue 5LP reissue remastered by Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood.

As the music slowly unfurls, there he is at every turn, subtly tweaking its parameters, redistributing its weight, pricking its grooves into a state of utterly infectious perpetual movement.
The two visions of Chilazon track opposite pathways: the first is twelve minutes of gorgeous, dubwise, aquatic techno, spattered with kicks and razor-sharp hi-hats, and smeared with ghostly echoes, then a terse mesh of broken drums, escalating to a quiet yet feverishly intense peak. Stefan Robbers is one of the most known and respected non-U.K.-based European techno producers, and (along with Speedy J) one of the only Dutch techno artists to reach a wide audience outside of Holland. Recording as Terrace, Florence, and under his own name, Robbers has been responsible for some of the most memorable moments in experimental dance music in the last few years, from the first release on the now-commanding D-Jax label (Terrace's 1990 EP 916 Beuna Avenue) to recent Terrace and Florence full-lengths released on his own Eevo Lute imprint. Although tracks have appeared through GPR and New Electronica as well, his focus since 1994 has been on Eevo Lute, likely in an effort to raise awareness about Dutch techno artists and which also prompted the astablishment (by Robbers and Speedy J's Jochem Paap) of a Dutch remix network. Most often cited in connection with the sort of "listening techno" associated with the Warp, GPR, and New Electronica labels, Robbers' recent releases have moved increasingly toward the incorporation of du jour electronica hybrids such as trip-hop and ambient jungle, although his trademark mixture of intricate, off-kilter rhythms and sweet melodies has remained. Along with Robbers' own releases, Eevo Lute has also issued material from David Caron, Max 404, and Wladimir M., as well as two label compilations (Agenda 21 and Agenda 22). A remixed version of Terrace's 1996 Konnekt LP, entitled Re-Konnekt, was released in 1996, featuring Speedy J, Global Communication, Sean Deason, Kirk Digiorgio, Orlando Voorn, and Thomas Heckmann.

Not one to be pigeonholed, highly respected DJ and producer WILL SAUL has always run the gamut of electronic dance music: from deep house to techno and UK bass, his sets and tracks like to rock the boat of any given genre, taking in contemporary impulses as well as classic inspirations. As label honcho for iconic imprints like Simple or Aus Music, he further honed his ear for the perfect groove and was invited to bring his expert selection to the revered DJ Kicks mix series in 2014. A remix collaboration with fellow UK producer October for Michael Mayer's MANTASY REMIXE 2 (KOMPAKT 272) turned out to be a fine first foray into Kompakt territory - now to be succeded by the LOST IN TIME EP, for which he teamed up with Bristol-based soundsmith KOMON. Komon & Will have been collaborating for many years, resulting in tracks on Will's DJ Kicks and remixes for labels such as Ninja Tunes (Kelis) and Houndstooth (Throwing Snow). Komon has been a mainstay on Will's Aus Music imprint, with solo releases and regular collaborations with Appleblim. For Kompakt, they turn in a swooping trio of floor-versed cuts that are no strangers to atmosphere and experimentation, but like to keep the crowd in check with outbursts of pressurized funk. Leading the pack is the title cut featuring quality vocals from BEN WESTBEECH (aka Breach), flanked by the introspective DRONE and immersive mover DIGITAL PARADISE - a versatile and powerful outing from two artists that know perfectly well how to set the scene.

For the latest instalment in the Apollonia story we look to Argentina and the talented producer Federico Molinari. Having been based in Germany for the last couple of decades, Federico has refined his sound, developing a strong signature through his DJ sets and his studio productions, most of which he has released via his label OSLO. Federico's ability to craft effortless grooves and timeless rhythms is evident here on this killer new three-tracker. Side A is the eight-minute long roller 'Congo Toys'. The focus here is on a crisp 4x4 beat, which keeps things simple - under this lies a sturdy bassline. All the while, the low end is accompanied by a series of bleeps, which could almost be the chatter between two archaic computers, modulated and weaving in and out of the beats and bass. On the flip, we have two more dance floor-ready joints. Like ' Congo Toys, 'Tres Cuartos' is focused around a simple foundation, with layers of unusual effects - an overriding sense of playfulness comes through in Molinari's production, perfect for the boogie down crew. Last up, 'Joyfex' takes us further into leftfield, hypnotic, hazy atmospherics draw us into their web and we're tangled up in a mesh of vibrating whirrs and echoing, distorted voices.
