After 2021’s critically acclaimed album “Afraid To Leave”, Berlin based post-punkers Bleib Modern invited artist friends to take an outside perspective on their tracks, resulting in the “2 Afraid 2 Leave” compilation, featuring remixes and reworks from several esteemed names within the darkwave, post-punk and EBM music scenes.

From club bangers like IV Horsemen’s version of “Bitter Smile” and M!R!M’s dreamy lo-fi bedroom synthpop sound on “Into The Night” to Danish deviant pop artist Dune Messiah’s crooner “Loony Voices”. The album also boasts contributions from luminaries like The KVB, The Underground Youth, Blind Delon, Shad Shadows and various Bleib Modern band member side projects.

“2 Afraid 2 Leave” offers listeners a chance to experience Bleib Modern’s music from an altered vantage point, a welcome interlude as the band forges ahead with new creations.

Derry-based, LGBTQ+, 3-piece pop-punk band Cherym unveil their long awaited debut album 'Take It Or Leave It'. A spring '24 UK and EU album headline tour is already announced, as well as supporting Enter Shikari in Ireland in March 2024. With previous sold out support shows with Nova Twins & The Beths, as well as performances at SXSW & Truck Festival, the band have received stacks of support from BBC Radio 1 (5 plays of the latest single in one week), Kerrang, 6 Music, & Dork. 2024 is the year of CHERYM.

What a collection of talent on this rarity from the Brunswick label— production by disco maestro Tony Valor, arrangements by Chi-Soul legend Eugene Record, and mix by the great Tom Moulton. Produziert von Andy MacFarlane und gemischt von Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Frightened Rabbit), ist Nobody Wants To Be Here And Nobody Wants To Leave so laut wie auch vielschichtig und zutiefst melodisch.

For 14 years Throat have been the sonic equivalent of forcing a square peg into a round hole; often abrasive, causing utmost irritation at times and on a rare occasion a feverishly pleasant dose of brooding darkness in one's otherwise dull existence. The peg now fits. We Must Leave You sees Throat dropping pegs of all shape and size through the same hole. The last confines of musical genres are behind them, resulting in an album which can be regarded as the easiest listening Throat has ever presented or simultaneously their most difficult and puzzling work to date. Thematically what we have here is a breakup album. Never ones for thinking small, Throat breaks up with the world. Enough is enough. Bring back lockdown. No need for petty social commentary on how the world is burning. Let it burn. Throat is already walking away and it remains to be seen where they end up next. If anywhere. Breakups always require dramatic music and We Must Leave You more than fits the purpose. Throat have already hinted at new directions and new sounds on their previous two albums, but here it all breaks loose. Rooted in the same heavy, dark rock sound as always, but a touch of gothic drama from the 80s has been injected to the band's sonic palette which obviously means a few deeper shades of black. The noise and dissonance remains, but this time it all has been dipped in honey and black grease paint. We Must Leave You was written over a few years time and finally recorded in 2023 at Tonehaven Recording Studio with Tom Brooke and the band's own Amplified Human Audio. It was recorded in 2013 at Thunder Underground Studios in Palm Springs, California by Harper Hug & Trevor Whatever. Nick Oliveri performs all of the instruments (vocals, guitar, bass & drums) on the album as well as all of the production & writing of the songs. He also recruited guest performers in such as Blag Dahlia of The Dwarves & Motörhead's Phil Campbell. The album is dedicated to deceased Eyehategod drummer Joey LaCaze. Heavy Psych Sounds is releasing a brand new REPRESS with new coloured vinyl.

Formed in Reading in 1998, The Cooper Temple Clause were an alternative rock band

Underground mainstay Guy Gerber is back on his own Rumors label with new EP Leave It On. Across three tracks he showcases his famously emotive and melodic house sounds.

Gerber has been a core part of the underground for years, headlining the world's most revered clubs and festivals, collaborating with P. Diddy, bringing all new party concepts to Ibiza, and serving up serene and synth heavy soundscapes that move people physically and emotionally on labels like Cocoon, Italians Do It Better and Rumors.

This one kicks off with the lush deep house elegance of 'Leave It On' with its languid bass and live sounding drums. Swirling pads and atmospheric vocals bring a romantic feel to this late-night jam. 'Leave Me' then picks up the pace with more percussive but still smooth grooves, this time doused in sweeping chords that bring sunshine and soul. 'Jupiter Blues' closes out with a cosmic exploration, the gently tinkling keys shining like stars as warm, rubbery drums carry you onwards and upwards.

Bella Brown & The Jealous Lovers are a Los Angeles based, transplanted fromChicago, unit that specializes in 60s/70s soul and funk. The band is fronted by the dynamically charismatic Bella Brown. A fiery female lead singer that is a mixture of Tina Turner and Sharon Jones, with a persona that is reminiscent of the empowered female
leads of 70s Blaxploitation films. Backed by the musicianship of The Jealous Lovers they form a unit that expertly expresses a uniquely modern interpretation of the traditionalsoul and funk genres.

Their new single "What Will You Leave Behind" exemplifies this
ideal. The track is a heartfelt call to action in these times of failed humanity and injustice. A Motown influenced message of hope that features sympathetic vocals, supportive horns, and a funky twist that asks us to create a better future by considering the effects of our present.

Gatefold Green Vinyl Double LP with design by Dian Vandermeulen, the popular Canadian visual artist
(limited edition cassette version will be released by Not Not Fun).

Between December 2018 and 2019, Stefana Fratila embarked on a series of research trips across North America (including to NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and NASA Goddard Space Centre), meeting with astronomers and scientists in order to address a complex question: “If each planet in our solar system were a different room, what would each room sound like?”

Her ongoing creative research culminated in Sononaut, eight open-source VST plug-ins created for digital audio workstations (DAWs) that emulate the atmospheric conditions of the planets in our solar system (made in collaboration with artist and coder Jen Kutler, using calculations by NASA astronomer and planetary scientist Dr. Conor Nixon).

Her forthcoming album I want to leave this Earth behind is the sonic extension of her creative research.

In her own words: “The album is conceptual, in that it centres on outer space exploration and my understanding of 'Crip futurity'. My vision is for the album to engage listeners in an exercise of imagining the sounds of interplanetary atmospheres– conditions which are inherently unlivable, unbreathable, converting all human body-minds into disabled-bodied-ness. Since I identify as Crip, or disabled, this idea deeply resonates with me. I am the first artist (a disabled producer/musician, no less) to have worked with NASA researchers on a sonic imagining of the solar system’s atmospheres that incorporates real scientific data. If we are all 'disabled' in (or by) outer space, my music is concerned with propelling all listeners into space, leaving Earth behind them, through my music.”

The solar system’s planetary bodies are inherently prohibitive even in regards to Earth’s most ‘able-bodied’ subjects. Her project seizes upon a form of radical agency and science-fictive ambition, placing all human subjects within new worlds, into the interplanetary bodies of our solar system, through her own sonic imaginings.

The album will be released by Toronto-based label Halocline Trance (Casey MQ, myst milano, ACT!).

During a 2019 residency at CMMAS (Centro Mexicano para la Música y las Artes Sonoras) in Morelia, Mexico, Fratila began writing the album on an octophonic sound system (8 planets = 8 speakers).

Afterwards, from her home studio in Toronto, she recorded additional synthesizer parts, finalized arrangements, and incorporated Sononaut (her 8 solar system VST plug-ins) into the album’s production. The album was recorded, written, and produced by Fratila. She worked with mixing engineer Jeremy Greenspan (Jessy Lanza, Caribou, Junior Boys), as well as mixing engineer Lisa Conway and mastering engineer Sage Kim.

Underlining each track is a five-minute soundscape representing the weather on that planet, based on Fratila’s research at NASA. The weather patterns are interwoven with layers of synths and time-stretched samples.

Since the beginning in early 2014 we have released 9 albums and are soon ready
with our tenth effortnamed "Leave the Ghost behind".When the world entered
lockdown a few years ago, so did we in Nautilus Studio with our new team mate,
drummer Tomas Järmyr (Motorpsycho, Årabrot) and entered a creative phase
with song writing and jamming, colored by fuzz, delays and crazy drum breaks.
The resulting album was once again produced and recorded by the band which in
addition to Tomas alsoinclude the brothers Vemund Engan (baritone guitar) and
Øyvin Engan (bass guitar, vocals) together with Scott Heller aka Dr.Space from
Öøresund Space Collective (synthesizer). Thevinyl edition is once again released
by the renowned Trondheim label Crispin Glover Records.The music on the
upcoming album resembles a tug of war between the unpredictable and chaotic
forces of free spaced out improvisation and the more grounded side of structure
provided by the means of songwriting.
