For the seventh installment of his Hardspace series, Len Faki selects three standout tracks from his personal vault - polishing them up with signature flair for maximum impact.

The A-side features a powerhouse mix of Jimmy Edgar´s Strike. Len Faki brings extra drive and spatial depth to the mix: sizzling hi-hats pan sharply across a tight stereo field, vocal chops flicker in and out, and the groove is stripped, slick, and forceful. A subtle reverb treatment adds atmosphere without compromising punch.

On the B-side, Faki dives into Robert Armani's 1994 album Right to Silence, revisiting two Chicago-style jacking tracks that are nodding to the Dance Mania era.
Up rides on a fierce hi-hat shuffle and a pounding stomp, centered around a bold vocal loop that captures the rough, battle-cry attitude of classic Chicago jack tracks. Faki's edit sharpens the angles and tightens the structure, giving the track even more bite.
Road Tour originally leaned on a harsh, detuned lead synth. Len´s Hardspace version removes the abrasive top line and lets the looping arp take center stage, which subtly shifts in tone and pans across the stereo field. The groove doesn't push forward so much as it sways side to side, creating a warped sense of motion. A pitched-up vocal sample-half command, half tease-injects just the right dose of jack attitude.
HS007 channels the raw, functional energy of vintage Chicago trax through Faki's modern lens - respectful to its roots, but fully tuned for today's sound systems.

Am 14. Juni 2023 ist DJ Patex nach langer Krankheit gegangen. Wohin, das wissen wir nicht genau. Darüber werden wir uns heute auch nicht einig. Der Autor dieses Textes will jedoch ahnen, dass sie dort – frisch angekommen – erstmal von ihren vorausgegangenen Lieblingshundis überrannt und abgeschleckt wurde. Der Autor mag dieses Bild. Auch weil Patex sich zeitlebens mit Hundis leichter getan hat als mit Menschen. Hunde durften bei ihr alles, was sie vom Menschen getrennt hat: Parolen kläffen, Eigentum heranzerren, egoistisch und unterkomplex sein. Nie hat sie auch nur einem Hund jemals etwas krumm genommen. Der Menschheit begegnete Patex eher mit pessimistischen Sätzen: „An Allem ist zu zweifeln“ ist so eine Feststellung. Oder: „Nur Weil Du Mir Deine Wunden Zeigst Bist Du Noch Lange Nicht Mein Heiland“.
Damit wären wir auch bei der A-Seite der vorliegenden Single. Sie berührt. Ihr Text zeigt in viele Richtungen. Die Coverversion von Mitpudeln enstammt ihrem finalen School-Of-Zuversicht-Album und dokumentiert eine Patex, die an ihrer schweren Krankheit gewachsen ist, statt zu brechen. Auch weil sie sich erlaubt hat, ihre typische Skepsis mit einer Art Camu’schen Akzeptanz zu tauschen. Denn Ablehnung hat in ihrer Situation nicht gegriffen, sie hätte alles viel schlimmer gemacht. Nicht das Nicht-leiden oder gar das Nicht-leiden-wollen besiegt das Leid, sondern dessen voll umfängliche Akzeptanz. Das hat sie einfach genial hingekriegt. Und damit vielleicht das Leben und den Tod gleichzeitig besiegt. Noch besser: Für diese Erkenntnis musste sie nicht einmal ihren Pessimismus über Bord werfen. Denn auf einer Ebene, viel weiter im Vordergrund, handelt das Lied natürlich vom Mitleid, oder besser Mitleiden. Mitleid gerät in Schieflage, wenn wir vergessen, worum es wirklich geht. Empathie verbindet uns mit der Welt, sie erfüllt uns. Sie eignet uns aber allzu schnell das Leid anderer an, ohne dass wir selbst wirklich leiden müssen. Und wenn wir nicht aufpassen, dann macht sie uns selbstgewiss.
An Allem ist zu zweifeln, merkt Euch das. Außer daran, dass uns Patex fehlt. Uns fehlt was sie umtreibt und die Fragen, die sie uns schenkt. Und dass die umwerfende B-Seite, die uns über Hans Nieswandt aus Südkorea erreichte, nur ekstatisch tanzend erklärt werden will — und daran, dass Ihr Euch jetzt diese Single kauft. "Summer Jam" is back! A long-awaited repress of this powerful and joyful tune described as "acid pied piper", with new artwork and new flip-side. EM Records is very happy to again bring you our favorite tune from the artist known as Tapes, here in a 10-inch vinyl/download format that, with its good vibes, positivity and major-key delightfulness, will rescue you from any doldrums you are experiencing, whether personal, societal or cosmic. "Summer Jam" is a solo recording from 2019, but it soars over the worries of the year, any year, with an up- lifting rhythmic lilt, a positive tonality, non-annoyingly catchy melodies and some lovely sonic textures. There's something here for fans of bass music, mid-80s-and- beyond electronic music, and pure toe-tapping good times. There's a sweet chord progression and background drift in the title track that are particularly pleasing, and the flip-side is a very satisfying "acid" live version with his ally, 7FO, that will lovingly catapult you to another major-chord heaven. It's rare that a certain sound is entirely an artist's own. Although undeniably a stew of impeccable influences - from blues to folk to Latin to dusty funk, soul and hip-hop - one cannot hear a Tommy Guerrero song without immediately recognising it as his - and his only.The cult skater from San Francisco is globally renowned as one of the original members of the legendary "Bones Brigade" team. And as an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, his laid-back soul is beloved by all who've basked in its blissful glow.There's something elemental about this music that really stirs the soul. Strikingly beautiful and instantly addictive, it's a kind of funk-fuelled, melody-driven, groove-based magic. There's a serenity and heart in the playing that radiates warmth and splendour, as if crafted for endless sunsets. His albums that surfaced on Mo Wax at the turn of the century have been treasured since their release and it's two of his most vital LPs that we're honoured to reintroduce.The originals were quietly pressed on to a single piece of vinyl so we've worked closely with Tommy this year to bring you these fresh, limited editions. They have been lovingly remastered, cut nice and loud on to heavyweight double vinyl and presented in deluxe gatefold jackets.A Little Bit Of Somethin' is a quietly majestic gem. Brimming with Guerrero's horizontal "loose grooves", these brief but innovative instrumentals demonstrate a rich variety and, as such, comprise an LP that is aptly titled. An enchanting start-to-finish listen, it was instantly regarded as essential upon release via Mo Wax in 2000. It has aged remarkably well.Throughout this inspired collection, simplicity is key. In deploying it, Guerrero presents a beautifully crafted melodic soundscape. The distinctive, mellifluous approach of his guitar style, blending Brazilian, Cuban, Mexican, soul and jazz motifs, is at once startlingly new and tantalisingly familiar. Set against unrushed percussion, the music releases a crystal clear stream of healing frequencies to create a fragile, hypnotic atmosphere.Each track clocks in at around three minutes and, with a lack of studio polish or commitment to traditional song structure, it's a wonder how this enigmatic record demands your attention. However, through its gentle dynamism and impressive playing, it does just that. Whilst resolutely low-key, this lo-fi aesthetic feels genuinely organic and remarkably personal, its powerful intimacy truly connects. It's what makes this album so beloved of those lucky enough to be already familiar with it. From Margaret Kilgallen's truly iconic cover artwork to the music contained within, it's all brilliantly effortless.Guerrero's musical ideas are consistently compelling throughout, making it impossible to select highlights. The album's laconic drift touches upon jazz-fusion workouts and slow-mo hip-hop drums, Tortoise-style experimental post-rock and cinematic sound textures. It's at once hazy, light and bouncy yet sombre and bluesy. The Latin soul of El Chicano blends with the breezy jazz of Grant Green. By employing guitars and drum machines to create a stripped down rhythmic tapestry of spellbinding, addictive songs, there are even traces of The Durutti Column. A little bit of country, a little bit of rock & roll. A Little Bit Of Somethin', indeed.

Lars Bartkuhn returns to Rush Hour with “See The Light”, as deep and complex as we have come to expect but as always his ever-present hunt for new inspiration and unique approaches is clearly evident across all 3 mixes of this beautifully deep yet pulsating track!

Originally written as a final foray into house music for the legendary Needs co-founder, this production aimed to “push boundaries within the world of electronic dance music, integrate fresh new elements, bring new compositional perspectives to the listener and to create overall rewarding experiences.”

It’s a deeply personal track, best summarised by the incredible piano solo in the Full Experience Mix. In Lars’ own words, “I am ten million light years away from being a good pianist, but for some reason I NEED to play those kind of things…even if they are raw, primitive and incomplete and lack parameters like elegance, fluidity and wisdom - I need to express myself in that very moment in this exact way.” It’s these unrestrained moments of brilliance that create rich palettes of sound with deep textures, organic rhythms and joyful melodies that keep your ear constantly engaged.

The Full Experience Mix is a near-13 minute trip through lush vocals, complex percussion, deep chords and raw piano solos that guides the listener through the changing motions of “See The Light”. Backed by two dub mixes, Inner Experience hones in on the keys and synths - truly elevating those striking notes. Opening with atmospheric percussion, the Dub Reprise settles into a chugging rhythm that brings the drums to the forefront.

An obscure yet relevant experimental album from 1995 where IDM meets Jazz, Funk, Ambient and Downtempo, originally released on the Input Neuron Musique label and now fully remastered & reissued. Roupe aka Rupert Brewer was responsible for delivering two Long Player's combined with two EP's and a smattering of a few compilation appearances - something which given his obvious talent should have resulted in much more at the time. His 'Strom' album is something which is not easily defined yet remains sounding fresh today as it was back then despite not fitting easily into any classification but being packed full of variety and quality. A real gift for the adventurous listener.

A1 - Tried So Hard
Intensely atmospheric from the outset, Tried So Hard sees ASC explore a more minimal approach to breakbeats with sparse drums and kicks tentatively held at arm's length by imposing hi hats. Dripping with depth and a dense layer of synthwork enveloping the landscape, this unique track develops continually with a suite of interlocking effects while the vocal yearns "I've tried so hard" - both haunting and thought provoking.

A2 - Parallel Seas
Cheery synths and lively bongos introduce us to Parallel Seas, which quickly becomes a glorious, powerful amen workout providing that perfect blend of atmospheric bliss alongside crunchy, analogue amens programmed with ASC's exquisite attention to detail - crashing triumphantly to an upbeat rhythm, littered with rousing vocal hits, elegant synthwork and nods to yesteryear galore.

AA1 - Alacrity
An energetic, surging breakbeat powers Alacrity as ASC utilises breaks reminiscent of classic driving atmospheric tracks of the past from scene legends including Intense and Artemis. Uniquely constructed with a pulsating, fluid energy, the break pattern utilises relentless kicks, cymbals and a wonderful long snare primed to move the dancefloor as synths wash and a lush vocal whooshes along in ecstasy.

AA2 - Glimmer Of Hope
Jumping straight in with a DJ-friendly beat intro, ASC selects a crisp, definitive selection of old school cuts for Glimmer of Hope, chopped and served with a barrage of sci-fi effects, micro melodies, a bellowing, rumbling bassline and a serene intensity driven by dreamy pads resulting in a perfect patchwork of elements, offering endless layers of detail for your ears to pick through with each listen.

Robot Says E is a meticulously assembled four-track compilation that connects the tactile groove of dub tech house with the lucid propulsion of contemporary techno. Side A kicks off in an immersive warm atmosphere; A1. Tvardovsky – Eleven and A2. Spectral Model – Plasma both deliver deep low-end foundations, atmospheric dub textures, and clean dancefloor-ready production quality. On the flip, the energy shifts. B1. Rene Lorenzo – Reflections and B2. Kirill Matveev – Code Redeemed push off in much faster, gliding, terrain – where flow and high-speed rhythms embrace their high velocity, and deep repetition creates a trance-like state. This is techno that feels both expressive and “summer-in-the-city” active and is meant to enhance your sensory plates and keep you energized. Easily executed, future forward designed and mood-blissfully transformative, WRSE1 VA –What Robot Says E is not just a VA, it's a sonically-derived blueprint for refined dance music going forward.

Gary Beck returns to Mutual Rytm as he unveils a selection of impactful cuts across his debut 12'' on the label, 'Upside Criminal'.

Bek Audio boss and Glasgow techno mainstay Gary Beck has long been a key figure in the scene with a unique sound that has shaped a vast discography. One of the genre's best, with appearances across iconic institutions and collaborations with legendary talents, he is a definitive talent. Returning to SHDW's Mutual Rytm imprint, his new EP lands following his recent appearance on the label's 'Federation Of Rytm III' VA, with the tracks on the package proving as go-to favourites for the label boss over recent months.

''Mutual Rytm has been nothing short of inspirational to me over the last years. I've been playing almost
everything from the label, as the tracks really suited what I was selecting in my DJ sets. The high-quality output really got my juices going to create something for the label, and I was delighted when Marco liked what I sent. This EP signals exactly where I am musically. I'm an absolute sucker for tracks with relentless groovy energy and little breaks, so it felt like a perfect fit. Tracks from the EP have been an absolute joy to play in my sets recently,

The powerful 'Upside Criminal' kicks off with hammering drums and pounding hits that create an inescapable wall of sound that will dominate dance floors of any size. There is more loopy energy to 'Sambana' with its ever more jagged synth stabs and fizzing drum textures while 'Pepper Track' is a futuristic techno workout with rattling snares and mutant synth details peeling off the straight-up groove. 'Rejected' is built around trapped vocal fragments that swirl about the mix to a disorientating effect as the high-speed drums and sheet metal synths race onwards, 'while
Ghost' closes out with a subtle sense of uplifting celebration from the synths that rise up through rusty, rickety techno grooves. Digital Bonus 'Variation 6.1' offers another searing and funky techno stomp, once again providing an extra gem for digital purchasers.

Berlin techno talent Regent returns to Mutual Rytm with second 12" release, 'Delta Hyve' - a five-track package lined with peak-time heat.

Regent is an ever-growing voice in the global techno conversation. His tracks have found their way into high-profile sets worldwide and are renowned for their impressive blend of the past and the present. Versatile but always designed for maximum impact, delivering an impressively crafted sound made for powerful systems, this new outing offers a wealth of different moods and grooves for various parts of the night. Returning to SHDW's Mutual Rytm imprint following 2023's successful 'Coral Knife' EP, he unveils a fresh selection of cuts that emphasise his emergence with 'Delta Hyve'.

The title cut 'Delta Hyve' opens up with devastating low ends and busy synths that scurry about the mix to bring dynamism to the rooted drums, while 'Ophaal' delivers thumping kicks and coarse, textured hits scrape and scratch, while supersized hi-hats bring the intensity to all new levels. 'Hygea Core' brings the pressure with hunched-over drum patterns and a sense of urgency in the bass, while creepy pads create an unsettling atmosphere. 'New Narrative' powers on like a train with high-speed rhythms and metallic percussive surfaces, all sweeping you off your feet, before 'Ree 54' switches things up with bright synth flashes and more extraverted grooves that hark back to the machine soul of early Detroit techno.

The first digital bonus, 'Presence', is intense and tinged with the grit of a warehouse and menacing vocals, while 'Rheplica' delivers unrelenting loopy drum funk with shattered glass melodies to close the show.

The soundtrack of Imaginária Records continues through the natural elements of our planet. Split into the three moments of a single cycle, after the journey (The Trip) and then the places (The Place), to arrive at a conclusive return. The label traces the steps of a metaphysical journey that becomes a metaphor for life, the essence of research and the richness of encounters. And it is in this record: Home. The environment contains many sets of rhythms: those dividing day from night, sun from moon, summer from winter. To all things there is a season. There is a time for light and a time for darkness, a time for activity and a time for rest, a time for sound and a time for not-sound. It is here that the natural soundscape provides a clue, for if we could register all the periods of rest and activity among natural sounds, we would observe an infinitely complex series of oscillations as each activity rises and falls from exertion to slumber, from life to death.

This is in fact a cover of "You'll Lose A Good Thing" a slow 1962 R&B hit written, played and sung by Barbara Lynn. In our humble opinion this cracking 60’s reggae cover is vastly superior to the original with its frantic electric guitar introduction, the cool harmonica solo in the middle and Audrey’s gorgeous vocals set against the up-tempo riddim. "You'll Lose A Good Thing" is a rare early Reggae track that does rock.
An absolute must!

An original Dandy Livingstone composition, “Love Me Tonight” showcases Audrey’s tender, soulful side. Layered horns and bubbling keys back her sensual but restrained vocals. The song sits at the crossroads of lovers rock and early reggae offering a romantic storm of yearning and groove.

Very popular with the Skinhead crowd back then, it is yet another rare great track from Audrey and it complements perfectly You’ ll Lose A Good Thing on the A side!

Undiscovered Recordings is a London- and Naples-based independent record label founded in 1994. Showcasing new and exciting production talent, Undiscovered was founded by a crack team of music industry experts, the two Angelos, Doug and Mario, in the midst of the dance music movement of the 1990s.

The Angelos met while working at UMM and Flying Records. Founding Undiscovered allowed them to move
away from the traditional dance music of the time and to highlight lesser-known artists and styles. Angelo
Tardio, in-house A&R, capitalised on his trail-blazing career as a DJ, as the founder of iconic label U.M.M., and his production career as Kwanzaa Posse, where he collaborated with huge talents such as Mano Negra, Manu Chao, King Chango, MC Solaar and Les Negresses Vertes, to name just a few. Doug Osborne, British DJ & Producer and co-founder. Angelo Bernardo brought his years of experience in the music industry to take over the business side of the company, and Mario Nicoletti came on board as a true living musical encyclopaedia and expert. Alberto Faggiana joined in 1998 to contribute his industry know-how to curate the legal and administrative aspects. And so the Undiscovered team was complete.

Undiscovered has since moved with the times, from classic dance genres into Balearic chill-out, all the while
maintaining its goals to showcase emerging producers and artists. After a long hiatus, and following a number of forced changes in the company, Undiscovered are back in full force. Kwanzaa Posse achieved success back in the 90's with such hits as "Wicked Funk", "African Vibrations" and "Musika!", all of which attracted collaborations with remixes by Massive Attack, Jam & Spoon, and Ralph Falcon & Oscar Gaetan - aka Murk Boys. Now the production unit responsible for such seminal tracks is back with a magical new track called 'Mali Chant'.

The Unofficial Edits & Overdubs by Joaquin Joe Claussell
Finally comes the first of a two-part forthcoming EP's, Extended Versions taken from the highly successful Joe Claussell Afro Edits & Overdubs Series previously released on LP and CD.
Influence of hallucinations induced by chewing roots from the iboga plant on the works of Joaquin Joe Claussell's Edits & Overdubs IBOGA Compilation. The iboga plant is indigenous to the humid, tropical climates of West Central Africa, including Gabon, Cameroon, Congo, and Angola, which are home to the 2nd largest rainforest in the world. It has been used for centuries in spiritual initiation ceremonies and practices, particularly by the Bwiti tradition and religion in Gabon.

Joaquin Joe Claussell was inspired by these influences and went into the studio to create a compilation of edits and overdubs of African vibrational sounds and rhythms. The result is a collection of nine compositions that showcase the future possibilities of this influential work.

Two decades after its original release, the trance classic “The Morgan’s Wave” returns in a fresh and contemporary form. Born in 2003 from the creative meeting between vocalist Caroline Eloy and producers Patrick Ketels and Xavier Romain, the track first gained attention through David Altrix (Galaxie Radio), and was signed by Diki Records in 2004 on its sub-label Green Valley.
In 2025, the idea to revive the track came from Caroline Eloy—now performing as Ce’Loy—who teamed up once again with David Altrix to envision a remix with a modern twist, keeping the original lyrics and piano melody while exploring a new musical direction.

They entrusted the remix to Narik (Freegrant Music, Bonzai Progressive, EinMusika), whose timeless production style brings a unique reinterpretation of the track. His version features deep, emotional textures and a subtle deconstruction of the vocal part, blending nostalgia with innovation.

Now released on Clair Obscur, this 2025 remix also serves as a heartfelt tribute to Patrick Ketels, who sadly passed away a few years ago.

Deux décennies après sa sortie originale, le classique trance “The Morgan’s Wave” revient dans une version fraîche et contemporaine. Né en 2003 de la rencontre créative entre la chanteuse Caroline Eloy et les producteurs Patrick Ketels et Xavier Romain, le morceau s’est d’abord fait remarquer grâce à David Altrix (Galaxie Radio), avant d’être signé en 2004 par Diki Records sur son sous-label Green Valley.

En 2025, l’idée de raviver le morceau germe dans l’esprit de Caroline Eloy — désormais connue sous le nom de Ce’Loy — qui s’associe de nouveau à David Altrix pour imaginer un remix à la fois fidèle et modernisé, conservant les paroles originales et la mélodie au piano tout en explorant une nouvelle direction musicale.

Ils confient cette mission au producteur Narik (Freegrant Music, Bonzai Progressive, EinMusika), dont le style intemporel offre une relecture unique du titre. Sa version déploie des textures profondes et émotionnelles, et déconstruit avec subtilité la partie vocale, mêlant habilement nostalgie et innovation.
