The record was produced by Jimmy Mack also worked with Otis Redding before becoming an actor. “True Love” was not issued at the tape and was only part of a limited and now much sought after reissue.

The return of Mulatu to Ethiopia after studying jazz in the West sparked a new wave in the country’s music scene—Ethio-jazz.
This ambitious compilation album gathers modern Ethiopian sounds from 1969 to 1972, aiming to widely introduce what must have been a highly innovative
sound for its time.

In fact, the majority of the tracks featured on this compilation are either credited to Mulatu himself or arranged by him. In that sense, it’s no exaggeration to
call this a “Mulatu album” in essence. The result is a truly one-of-a-kind sound born from the fusion of Afro-indigenous Ethiopian rhythms and the Latin jazz
influences Mulatu absorbed during his time in the United States. The exotic, rustic flavor and smoky blackness that emerge from this blend defy description.

For the first time ever, this incredible 1974 recording by Joe Truss and composer Michael Kamen (who would go on to score Hollywood blockbusters like Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, and Robin Hood) is getting the proper release it always deserved.

Nearly all original copies were destroyed by the pressing plant after being pressed at the wrong speed. A second run of just around 50 copies was quietly made — and then it vanished into obscurity. Until now.

A double vinyl helping of dripping-in-soul house from Toronto's Demuir. It originally surfaced digitally in 2021 but has been constantly in demand ever since. Not at all surprising when you start to dip into the likes of 'Aesthetics' (dub), with its constant synth washes and subtle funk underpinning, or the loopy, bongo-teased hypnotism of 'No Corazon, No Beat'. It's a varied selection here, from late night floor crushers to the softer, jazzier 'Bichano Doce', but there are two constants remaining throughout, namely quality production and a knack for irresistible grooves built for the floor. Parisian label Chuwanaga is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of "The Milky Way", the first EP from the dynamic Milk & Honey duo, comprised of producers Saint-James and Tour-Maubourg. Known for their raw sound reminiscent of the late nineties house sound, Milk & Honey bring a fresh yet nostalgic energy to the scene, blending vintage hardware with modern sensibilities. This EP, is a testament to their musical chemistry and shared passion for the classic deep house. Composed in just two days at Tour-Maubourg's studio in Ixelles, Belgium, "The Milky Way" captures the essence of their creative synergy.

From peak-time club heaters like "Back in the Hood", "Lost and Found" and "Sour" — the latter tinged with a darker UK sound - to deeper, more introspective cuts like "Deeper and Deeper","Venus Effect" and "City Stabs" the EP is a rich and textured journey. Metal Rendez-Vous is the fourth studio album by Swiss hard rock/heavy metal band Krokus, originally released in 1980. It marked the debut of vocalist

“Tokyo Nights,” blending classic hard rock with the rising heavy metal sound of the early 80s.

What is it about New York City, that concrete jungle that continually inspires the creative spirit? From Warhol’s Factory to Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage to David Mancuso’s Loft, collectives that celebrate and nurture unfettered, organic artistry have been absolutely intrinsic to the story of this sprawling metropolis. Its latest chapter is being written at the hands of ‘The Maestro’, Grammy Award winner Louie Vega and his Expansions NYC parties, the sound documented in his latest album Expansions In The NYC (Nervous Records).

Starting in February 2019 in Manhattan and Brooklyn venues, Vega’s Expansions NYC parties have their origin not in his revered prowess as a DJ but rather his whole-hearted appreciation of the different elements of the dance floor surrounding him: the dancers, the musicians who bring their instruments to join him ad-hoc on the night, the small, dedicated crowd of clubbers whose ears to the ground keep them informed on the underground party information. The events included 6-hour DJ Sets with Louie under his select curation, and would usually end with 3 AM jam sessions involving keyboardists, guitar players and poets all performing in front of a jam packed crowd. In just a few short years the Expansions NYC events have evolved into an NYC-clubland institution, an intimate celebration of house, funk, disco, afro, R&B and more.

As with his parties, so goes his album. The collective vibe that forms the beating heart of Expansions NYC parties is absolutely front and centre in Expansions In The NYC, Vega drawing in one of the most comprehensive lists of collaborators in recent memory. House heavyweights Honey Dijon, Joe Claussell, Moodymann, Kerri Chandler and Anané rub up against legendary vocalists Bernard Fowler, Cindy Mizelle, Lisa Fischer, Audrey Wheeler and Tony Momrelle. "The Golden Age of Wireless is the debut album by English musician Thomas Dolby. The album was originally released in May 1982. Several tracks have a submerged, barely audible layer of almost random sound that serves as a constant (and disturbing) subtext, occasionally erupting into a song. This sonic underworld is all part of Dolby's mechanical wizardry. Rolling Stone magazine awarded The Golden Age of Wireless four stars out of five, calling it ""one of the most impressive debuts"" of 1982. They compared the album's melodicism to the works of Paul McCartney and concluded that ""unlike many synthesizer bands from England, Dolby eschews morbid, droogy drones."" Musician magazine said the album was ""the best damned record to come out of Europe's current fascination with synth-pop. Period."" Theye added, ""Dolby is purely amazing. And best of all, he writes songs.""

Flying Horseman is back! After a five year hiatus and with a new line-up, the band is ready to once again captivate headphone junkies and live audiences alike with Anaesthesia, their seventh album. It's an urgent and passionate work of intelligent rock'n roll, hazy psychedelia and cosmic folk. Anaesthesia is brooding, angry and dark but at the same time full of life, wonder and sophistication. It's an invigorating, fascinating, electric brew.



Flying Horseman is still centered around the intensely personal song writing, singing and guitar playing of Bert Dockx. The band's line-up has changed,with Louis Evrard (Pruillip, Ottla, Grid Ravage) and Maximilian Dobbertin (Calicos, Frankie Fame) replacing drummer Alfredo Bravo and bassist Mattias Cré. Bravo and Cré were long-standing members, beloved by fans and fellow musicians alike, and they have played an important part in establishing Flying Horseman's musical identity. Today Evrard and Dobbertin are adding a fresh and personal twist to the idiosyncratic sound of Flying Horseman: their groove, their intuition and sensibility, their soul.



Then there's Loesje and Martha Maieu, who have been part of the group for almost as long as its frontman has, and who offer essential ingredients to bring about Flying Horseman's signature flavour, their haunting vocals and atmospheric electronics contrasting beautifully with Dockx' more earthy vocal delivery and his restless, fiery plucking of the guitar strings.



The whole record is fiery, alternately smouldering and violently burning. These are musical sounds capable of setting the listener's heart and mind ablaze. Anaesthesia is very consciously, a political record born out of Dockx and his friends' bafflement at the state of the world, the new rise of fascism, the onslaught of injustice, barbarism and stupidity which we, inhabitants of planet earth, are witnessing day in day out.



How to guard one's sanity in such a crazy world? How to maintain one's dignity? How to feel useful and joyful when surrounded by confusion and hate? These are the questions Flying Horseman is struggling with, as are so many of us today. But there is joy and purpose in the asking; in the struggling; in staying critical of dominant systems of oppression; in thinking or saying: "I don't agree, this is not how it's supposed to be"; in coming together and connecting, sharing, mourning and dreaming. Joy and purpose; questions and confusion; burning hearts and tarnished dreams: it's allhere, in the transportive sound world of Flying Horseman.



Anaesthesia was recorded in Antwerp by Joris Caluwaerts (keyboardist of the inimitable avant-jazz group .STUFF) and mixed by Yves De Mey (one of Belgium's most prominent & avant-garde electronic wizards), two experienced collaborators who know a thing or two about capturing sound and transforming it into a rewarding listening experience. With their help, Flying Horseman has crafted a tight collection of eight art-rock tunes with a clear identity, a rich sound, an original vision and a joyful purpose in the face of encroaching sinister forces.
