AE Productions are please to present our latest release and latest signing Cut Beetlez, a DJ/producer duo hailing from Tampere, Finland. For their first release on AE, Droppin' Needles, they have teamed up with Soundsci MC's Oxygen, Audessey and U-George delivering an ode to the almost forgotten art of the needle drop - a turntable technique pioneered by the legendary Grand Wizard Theodore. Oxygen himself is a pioneer of the art of MCing while at the same time needle dropping - an incredibly rare and extremely difficult ability and something to behold!

The beats have been created using live turntables over a raw MPC based drum track with formidable results while the MC's drop science on the art of needle dropping. The sleeve artwork recreates Marley Marl's brilliant Droppin' Science sleeve - an idea from Cut Beetlez themselves and executed by the inimitable Mr Krum - in AE's opinion the world's foremost expert on record sleeve recreation.

The 12' includes both the main version and also a remix version created with the same methods as the main version plus instrumentals, accapella, bonus beat and DJ tool - plenty of tracks for DJ's while a limited edition cassette single release includes main and remix vocal and instrumental versions.

The 2nd release on Youth comes from London artist Shamos. With Lyster having met Shamos through NTS it wasn't long before they were DJ'ing together around parties in London and Shamos began sharing music with him. Shamos, who last released on Funkinevens Apron label, comes with a heavy 4 tracker bringing the punkier dregs of new wave, dreamy abstract house and tripped out hardware jams, on limited red vinyl.

Juicy Lucy formed after the demise of The Misunderstood. Steel guitarist Glenn Ross Campbell, and Blackburn saxophonist Chris Mercer recruited guitarist Neil Hubbard, bassist Keith Ellis, and drummer Pete Dobson to complete the band. Their eponymous debut album was originally released in 1969, and is a heavy form of blues-rock, often played at break-neck speed. The album’s cover features Burlesque dancer named Zelda Plum.

The band immediately notched a UK Top 20 hit with a cover version of Bo Diddley’s “Who Do You Love?”.

Juicy Luicy is available as a limited edition of 750 individually numbered copies on translucent yellow coloured vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve.

Casino Shanghai was a 'techno-pop' band started in the mid-80s in Mexico City. They released their debut and only album 'Film' in December of 1985. An album considered today as cult status.
Casino Shanghai were part of a great cultural change in Mexico and its music scene. The band made various controversial appearances on TV when a band without a drummer or guitarist was unheard of. All members had been in different notorious bands in the local scene. Ulalume was the lead singer of The Casuals (Punk-New Wave) and DenseUndergrowth (Avant-garde). Carlos Robledo and Walter Schmidt were part of Size (Post-punk) and have been playing together for many years in Decibel (Experimental). Humberto Alvarez played with MCC (Prog Rock) and is currently a well-known musician and multi-instrumentist.Before the band split-up they recorded two last songs in 1986, 'Le Tombeau d' Edgar Poe' and 'L'Action Minimal', as part of an unreleased solo EP for Ulalume. These tracks were edited in 2014 on 12 by Mannequin Records together with a remix by In Aeternam Vale.The music of Casino Shanghai was also used for the soundtrack of some Mexican films. 'Crónicas de Familia' directed by Diego López and nominated for the Ariel Award for best original soundtrack in 1986, and 'Juana La Cantinera' directed by José Loza.'Film' has been restored and remastered for this new edition including all original tracks plus two bonus: 'Le Tombeau d' Edgar Poe (Haunted Version)' and 'Cuerpos Huecos' (Spanish version of 'Hollow Bodies' available only on a promotional 7). Limited to 350 copies on white vinyl with a new artwork and printed inner sleeve with photos and song lyrics.

* The debut release by Austin, TX, artist Disco Nihilist combines acid and deep house to create a timeless EP. Influenced heavily by old school Chicago house and New York's great Nu Groove records, all four tracks were made with simple hardware and recorded to cassette tape giving this record a physical presence that computer-produced tunes can't touch. Despite the limited production tools, each track has its own distinctive flavor: pumping chords, looped bleeps, dub echoes, and jacking beats make for a diverse yet coherent sound throughout the EP.

Brand new label from Copenhagen exploring the universe of chord/dubtechno run by the host of the legendary TweakFM show, Johnny Fredsgaard aka Kvadrant. First release contains four solid dub influenced tracks made by Ohm and the label owner himself. Ohm needs no introduction as he is a well established Icelandic artist and a part of the label family around the Thule label. Over the years he has teamed up with artists such as Exos and Octal Industries with whom he already released two EPs in 2017 on RAWAX and Taped Artifact. Ejer is made for the dancefloor with its heavy rhythm, characteristic Roland Space Echo delayed chords and a stunning break which will make the floor burn as soon as the bass kicks in. Laki is a fast paced track with repetitive chords and heavy kick. Octal Industries takes Laki to a deeper level and delivers a stand out groovy remix of the track and adds a bit of a melodic flow to it. Yding is a groovy crossover track which fits well in the world between techno and house. Watch out for the phat funky bassline.

Hippie Priest returns to Argot to release his second album, See It Through. Having made great strides at dialing in his production and strengthening his songwriting since the release of Gaia Variants in 2016, the young Champaign-based producer focuses his sophomore longplayer around a narrative approach. 'See It Through is a day in the life of a lioness", says Hippie Priest, 'Beginning with the soft ambience of waking up in the morning, leading up to an intense hunt in the middle, and into evening revelry and eventual slumber". The album's 11 tracks cover a large stretch of sonic ground to tell this story. Its glowing opener, 'Umbrella Keeper' gives way to widescreen stompers 'Thorn' and 'Quicksand' that clear the way for more contemplative moments like 'Crystal' or 'Cherry Blossom". The fifth release in Ygrok's limited catalog debuts the DKM project of Samantha Waldram, a native of Barcelona. The A1 is her rework of the sound poem titled - Little Ali Hommage To Forough Farrokhzad by Giorgio Sancristoforo, a contemporary Italian sound artist. The heavy rolling groove makes her track compatible with any dancefloor while still keeping the wild psychedelic flavor of the piece. Giorgio's original piece opens the B side with its disorienting collage of bells, modular bleeps and cresting, tumbling waves of Persian syllables. The EP closes with a stripped down beat and soundscape tool in the finest Ygrok tradition.

Scott is mostly known for his own BLKRTZ label, but have been releasing on many other labels over the years.

"Inhabiting this grey area between late psych efforts and early PINA (private issue new age), 1977's Pythagoron TM is an electronic oddity originally marketed as some sort of musical narcotic ( a new invention that gets you high with sound' original ads read) sold via magazines like High Times.

Shrouded by it's corporate-like design are two enigmatic side long suites of droning electronics which evoke similar autistic synth experiences like early Conrad Schnitzler, Lorq Damon, Udder Milk Decay or the whole Pascal / Narco Records output whilst recalling also more articulate efforts such as Steve Reich's early opus, Charlemagne Palestine's sinewave experiments or Eliane Radigue's synthetic bliss.

A truly bizarre artifact which was apparently the brainchild of NYC's early media art collective USCO (The Company Of Us) which already pionered inmersive sound/light environments fusing mysticism and state-of-the-art technology back in the 60's. Intriguing period piece."

Your Planet Is Next: a bold threat! Are we talking about Earth The apocalypse Well, with the Doomsday Clock set 30 seconds closer to catastrophe following recent political happenings, Arvid Wretman might be on to something. Or is it a message for planets beyond; a warning of our inevitable interplanetary colonialism in light of the above Wretman's celestial, machine-driven other worldly tracks suggest an attempt to communicate beyond the realms of E*rth.

Making his recorded debut in 2014 with a limited edition self-released cassette tape, Your Planet Is Next quickly caught the ears of those paying attention. He followed up with Junk Yard Connection's debut long player, featuring a more refined set of electro productions that bounced jovially, chugged menacingly and punched erratically and since then; has released a more dusty, experimental cassette offering on Opal Tapes as well as a fantastically lighthearted and life affirming EP for Studio Barnhus (featuring a cover of Cher's 'Believe', believe it or not!)

Fast forward to 2017 and Arvid crash lands on planet Acid Waxa (rumoured to be something of a spiritual home coming) in slick Scandinavian style with I Just Disco; 4 irresistible cuts spanning acid, house, electro and outsider pop at it's most charming and with a tour of the UK to boot!

From time to time, you hear an EP and instantly can sense that it s going to be significant. Sad Girl Seasonal Affective Disorder does what few manage to do - it tells us not only a story from different perspectives but describes the journey of the heart and mind when losing someone we love - the conflicting emotions when we hurt and the evolution of emotions we experience as we heal. It achieves this by using a rich and diverse collection of sounds as its vocabulary, and a brilliant integration and structure as its grammar. Also, this strategy manages to give each track its unique character, allowing them to stand on their own.

Il Est Vilaine aren't from Brittany, but they sure are tricksters. The Francophiles among you might have caught on to the corny pun in their name (beating a certain presidential candidate to the punch all while turning the name of the pastoral Ile-et-Vilaine region into, literally, 'he's a nasty woman") but the real takeaway is that these born-and-bred Parisians don't take themselves too seriously - especially in an era in which there is much too much of that happening. It was in 2014 (and on Dialect Recordings) that Florent and Simon tossed their debut 12 into the ring, the rightfully named Scandale - a tight little bombshell released that roused the electronic music scene out of its complacent little catnap.So there we had it, two outcasts refusing to eat at the same table as the tech-house scene queens, serving up three whiplash-on-the-dancefloor cuts drenched in sweaty hedonistic disco and wrapped in a battered motorcycle jacket (with a gooey post-punk-pop core for good measure.) A clear mission statement right out of the gates, watermarked with mystical incantations and throbbing with rock 'n' roll's primitive drive. Everything and the kitchen sink, and a bag of chips - an invitation to just let lose that's even better than the sum of its parts. Moving on to this new platter. We set the scene: motorcycles blazing from the airport strip to the strip joint, our heroes traded their Oberkampf stomping grounds for a sleepless weekend of Spanish groupies, discount bikinis, whiskey and bukkake. And a creative spurt that left us with a mutant of a record, the sound of rock and techno crashing through a drum kit mid-coitus, interrupted by La French Chanson

A FISTFUL OF WAX is an extension for some very special projects of our beloved deep house SKYLAX RECORDS' sub - label WAX CLASSIC. A Fistful of Wax is back with its fourth volume! This offshoot originally began as an avenue for showing off some of the overflowing great talent we have floating about the Wax Classic sub-label, but with the growing reception of our previous three releases, it has developed itself into its own uniquely successful imprint. In a time when a lot of the hot records of the moment are made by highly distinguished producers with years of success under their belts, it is easy to forget how much good house music can come out of the underground by relatively fresh names. With AFX4, we are only scratching the surface once again, yet we have 5 special tracks from a group of producers who, if not already, will stay on your radar for the foreseeable future.The A side features tracks from Erman & Abtomat (of Série Limitée Records fame) and Kid Mark (Head honcho of Killax Recordings). We start off deep with the aptly named 'How Deep Can You Go', easily the most soothing of the bunch. 'Fantasy '95' takes it up a notch for those who wish to, with classic 90s chords and accompanying bass and horns. Over on the flip side, we hear 'Won't Get To Heaven' by Californian newcomer, An Expresso. Being a self confessed New Jersey style house addict, this hits in all the right places for those familiar with the sounds of NJ legend George Lockett Jr, aka Jerzzey Boy. Shin continues things with 'Phara', a percussive stormer with one of the hardest hitting leads you will hear for a good while. This one is a sure fire hit! Last, but by no means least is Rosenhaft's 'Voyager'. Fans of early UK Garage, perk up your ears because this could have easily been a tune you would have heard on your favourite pirate radio station back in '97.If you are still on the fence about the record at this point, you are in the wrong place. This record has it all for lovers of the 90s house sound! Whether you are of the deeper persuasion or the more garagey persuasion, the US or the UK side of things, there is something here for almost everyone on A Fistful of Wax 4.

Cititrax present a split EP by two massive talents, Borusiade and The Sixteen Steps. Borusiade, originally from Bucharest, Romania began as a DJ in the early 2000s and then started producing music in 2005. With a background in classical music, she combined her love of raw electronics, obscure themes and melodic lines to create her own signature sound. She has released on the Cómeme label as well as Corresepondent. Infatuation and Confutation are dark, moody and intense tracks that catch you upon first listen. The flip side of the Promises and Infatuation EP features The Sixteen Steps, the brainchild of George Lanham who cut his musical teeth DJing and running events in the south of England. We have been listening to many of his tracks endlessly for a while now. They've also been a highlight of Veronica Vasicka's DJ sets as of late. Signals From The South and Promises On The Run are both immaculately produced, hypnotic, dance floor killers. They are sparse ebm meets smoky warehouse techno, and offer a wonderful contrast to Borusiade's layered emotive tracks that reminisce of an East Village club in the 1980s. Themes of infatuation, appearances, and anonymity appear throughout this EP from the music itself right through to the cover art.

First vinyl release for 10 Years Of Metroline Limited series - Produced by label bosses Octad and Phiorio

This release is one of round numbers. It's Metroline Limited release number 50. You may have actually noticed that we almost got to release 90 by now but number 50 was always kept behind for a collaborative release between the two men behind the label: Andrea and Gianpiero aka Octad and Phiorio. It took a fairly long time to put this release together, mainly because running a label with a DIY ethos is a time consuming affair and most of the time doesn't leave too much free time for sonic experimentations. We really hope it was worth the wait! And what a better opportunity to release Metroline number 50 like for the label's 10 years anniversary. So much has happened since 2007, we released a LOT of music, some of our tracks have been played in the best clubs and festivals and by some of our favourite dj's. We are not going to name names but we are extremly proud of what we have achieved in our 10 years history. We are also proud of the fact that we are still around with energy and enthusiam to keep on releasing new music, this time (finally) by our label owners and also soon by a lot more talented producers in the months to come. Music wise, in this EP you will find some of the syles that made Metroline music known over the years. The two tracks on the A side are produced by Octad. Missing Bits has Octad's trademark minimal groove with hissing hats and a huge sub bass. There is a clever use of percussive bits, dark stabs and vocals to create a sublime dark minimal techno builder. Synopsis of 8 keeps the A side atmosphere well dark. Andrea managed to create a solid machine funk dark and spooky techno number with metallic percussion and plenty of groove. Phiorio takes control ot B side with the opening

Deltawerk is the newly Amsterdam based project of Pascal Terstappen aka Applescal and Polynation member Hessel Stuut. Together they are releasing their debut full length LP, entitled 'Passages",
Applescal has to date released on labels including Ghostly International and Traum Schallplatten, while the efforts for his own label Atomnation have seen him welcome music from the likes of Gidge, Weval, David Douglas and Sau Poler, amongst others. Voted at a very respectable #03 for XLR8R's coveted 'Best New Act' in 2015, Hessel Stuut is a member of Polynation and has significant experience not only playing live music, but as a producer, visual artist and designer too. Together, they form Deltawerk, a dynamically electronic duo whom when united create human and lucid music, which feels as much at home in an underground rave as it does in an open-air live performance. While there is a faint echo of artistic collision, the album undoubtedly provides an eerie sense of unity for both Pascal and Hessel's own discography, conserving the warm subculture of
analog and modular instrumentation.

The Haggis Horns will release their fourth studio album in September 2017 and as a little teaser, they drop a summer single worldwide on June 9th via their own Haggis Records, a feel good bouncing hip-hop/funk jam featuring guest UK MC/rapper Doc Brown. Think back to the dawn of hip-hop in the early 1980s when the first rap singles featured the Sugarhill Records house band laying down heavy funk grooves for MCs like The Furious Five and Treacherous 3 and you get the flavour. No-nonsense party hip-hop/funk for b-boys, soul sisters and funk brothers! And keeping with that old school flavour, it will come with a limited edition 7" vinyl pressing alongside the digital single and feature an instrumental version on the b-side with the Horns cutting loose on the solos.

London/LA producer Kenny Dickenson crafted his stunning remix of Ned Doheny's "Labor Of Love" to mark the Be With Ned tour in March 2015. The gentle disco re-rub was leaked by influential blogs and has been wreaking elegant havoc on both sides of the Atlantic ever since, setting a new gold standard for AOR remixes. Beloved of everyone who's heard it, we've been inundated with requests for a physical version.
As RedKen, Dickenson came to prominence with his cult edit of Steve Perry's "She's Mine" - an instant hit on the AOR Disco scene - whilst his double A Side Fleetwood Mac 12" with Psychemagik was number 1 across Juno, Piccadilly and countless others, gaining him further notoriety. Here, taking Ned's stellar version and creating new melodies by twisting original sax solos inside out, Kenny's remix is elevated further with the introduction of his sophisticated keyboard work and additional white-hot production.
Completed the day of Ned's penultimate show, Kenny bounded up to Pete Fowler - on DJ duties - and handed him the demo. Ever the showman, Pete played it seconds after Ned finished. Momentarily mortified at the chutzpah involved, we realised we were listening to something sensational. The key element would be Ned's opinion. He aired it the next day, breaking a drained silence as we boarded a flight to Berlin: "There was a remix of my song played last night." Heart in mouth, we were in for a deserved dressing down. "Pretty good, I liked it." And with that, we were determined to commit this wonderful reimagining to vinyl.
After two years of major label wrangling and artist nudging, Be With Records are delighted to finally present this as an officially authorised, one-sided 12". Enhancing the package, the record comes appropriately adorned with striking new artwork from Pete Fowler himself and liner notes from all parties involved. "Alpha percussion", recorded in 1985, is a cult groovy ambient album of acoustic percussion, pleasant to listen to and full of samples and break known very well by Djs and artists likes Danny Brown (which uses a sample in "Really Doe", a song of his latest album on Warp Records).
Giovanni Cristiani is one of the most prepared and complete Italian percussionists. Born in Rome in 1952 he graduated in percussion in young age and began playing professionally in Italy and abroad. In 1979, after years of activity at the side of the most popular jazz musicians, constitutes the Music Workshop A.D.E.L., playing drums and percussion courses. Pentaflowers (BEAT Records sub-label and publisher) asked him to make a solo percussion library music album in full artistic freedom that was pressed in limited edition for insiders; so was born "Alpha Percussion", a gem now finally accessible to all thanks to Mondo Groove label.

Influenced at first by producers such as Dilla, Madlib and Dj Shadow, he develops now his own modern approach of beatmaking, incorporating elements of trap and electronic music. For decades the mysterious Hiroshi & Claudia LP has been an elusive jewel amongst the curious world of Australian private press LPs. With nothing more than cryptic broken-English album sleeve notes to reference, the mythical Six To Six LP is a bewildering and intriguing jazz oddity. With prices of the rare original record hitting three figures, collectors began demanding to know who was 'Hiroshi', who was 'Claudia' and why did a group of unknown Japanese musicians record an album in Australia in the late 1970s only to issue it in micro-quantities, then seemingly disappear back into obscurity. For years no trace of whom they were nor any clue as to the origins of their peculiar yet entrancing music had surfaced. Until now....

Welcome to the brainchild of Gilles Germain and Carmen Fabro, a French/Italian husband and wife team of restaurateurs and film producers operating in Sydney during the 1970s. Establishing the custom record label 'Atom', the duo released a handful of highly obscure vanity jazz LPs and promotional horse racing 45s. (Yes it's all very strange...) The highlight undoubtedly being the album Six To Six, a session recorded in Sydney in 1979 by a group of touring Japanese jazz musicians led by guitarist Hiroshi Yasukawa, and a forgotten and still undocumented Mauritian cabaret singer performing under the alias 'Claudia'. Sitting somewhere between spacey Balearic disco, haunting soul and hectic funk reminiscent of electric Miles Davis, the Six To Six LP is a curious beast to say the least.

After recently inaugurating the label with Shedbug's well-received Afterglow EP, Flux Records are back with their second release. Following suit, FLUX002 includes three original tracks from burgeoning French talent Laroze, supplied with a sweet remix from Detroit's one and only Andres.With its fair share of dance floor heaters the Loin Des Yeux EP exudes an effortless 90s revival feel to it, drawing upon classic US house and acid as the basis for its form and style. On this long-awaited follow up to is critically revered A to B (City Centre Offices) Kroez displays his skill in marrying motorik techno infused rhythms and soaring pop ambient melodies.

This is most evident on 'Charezza' which could very well be the most uplifting track in the n5MD cannon. Other cuts on Jigsawtooth utilize sweeping synth-work that encourage a near kraut/kosmische travel worthy flavor to the proceedings.

Other genre signposts are evident on Jigsawtooth but that's something that's always been a constant with Kroez's work as Miwon. In his hands such coalescence sounds cohesive, natural and is some much welcomed diversity to nought-era electronica.

Another fresh collaboration between Omar-S and L.A.'s Nite Jewel on "Confess To U." The vocal mix is a melodic house track with playful vocals courtesy of Nite Jewel. On the flip is the "The Three Stooges of Hamtramck Mix," which strips down the vocals and focuses on the hand percussions and lightly added sax - real smooth for summer!

Pioneers of electronic experimentation in Venezuela, Musikautomatika is one of the best kept secrets in Latin America's experimental sound scene. They were formed in the late 70s by Luis Levin, Alvise Sacchi and Stefano Gramitto, and counted on the complicity of Mirella López and Gabriela Gamboa. They issued four albums (Musikautomatika -1983, Boston Tape - 1987, Kuba - 1987 y Frecuencias en peligro de extinción - 1993), which are nowadays highly sought after pieces among collectors from all over the world. Free improvisation and cosmic electronic music defines the path this collective of sonic travellers took.'

Kevin Arnemann and Daan Kemp's Taped Artifact record label is prepping its first release of 2017. Following the label's recently released various artists compilation, the Amsterdam based imprint welcomes two pioneers within the Icelandic techno scene: Ohm & Octal Industries. Ohm earned his stripes through his collaborations with Exos in the early 00's, whilst Octal Industries is a much-respected artist within the IDM scene under his Ruxpin alias. With the highly dub-influenced 'Maoss EP', the Icelandic duo follows up their recent appearance on Thor's renowned Thule Records. The four-tracker features highly textured, rhythmical and classic rooted dub techno, showcasing the iconic Icelandic aesthetic.

FKA twigs re-issues her debut release, 'EP1'. For 20 years, the Geophone label has been Mike Parker's most personal musical project. This time, Parker offers a solo 10" EP with two tracks of immersive and hypnotic techno. FOUR313 is a Detroit group of Deejays, musicians and producers from the 1st wave of the Detroit techno dance movement. Blake, Eddie, Santonio & Thomas have joined forces as the unit FOUR313, a group name with meaning and purpose, and that is to preserve Detroit's "true" history in dance music and support the DJ culture through vinyl releases. The debut album of FOUR313 will be released with the launch of their new record label called "Ther Label". FOUR313 will collectively release special limited edition vinyl of brand new recordings starting at the beginnning of 2017.

While unveiling the 'Mutant Tournament' Quartet last year, label boss Nachtbraker was quietly hunting for new music behind the scenes. Being the fine huntsman he is, he came out of the woods with sonic bits and bobs so delectable he had no choice but to spread them out over two brand new quartets. That's right, eight records in total, to be released over the course of the next 18 months. We're delighted to introduce you to Scott Franka, who's at the helm of the first missive. This creative head from Amsterdam has been making music since the tender age of 11, but it wasn't until he adopted his Scott Franka moniker that he really found his groove. His music encompasses influences from dub and dark techno to classic drumpcomputer and synth-heavy house. Franka's style takes cues from Detroit, Chicago and the UK, and yet is also very personal and forward thinking at the same time. 'The Gym' might be his solo debut, but a smattering of releases from the man is on the horizon. The best way to introduce you to Scott Franka's musicality is 'The Gym' on A1. Starting of with sweet, melancholic chords and 808 hats Scott turns your world upside down after the first break. Try to keep your head steady, and get that dirty look of your face.. doesn't work right It's just too good. 'Toenail' is up next, and its undeniable groove and incredible amalgamation of synths and strings make for an absolute early hours melter. Flip over for 'Sorry' to hear Franka knock it out of the ballpark with its heavy breakbeat and UK-style bass. Finally, there's 'Street', a mesmerising groover, rounding things off nicely. The release doesn't only mark its first artist EP, it also marks a new look for the label. Building on the muscular,pheromone-rich theme of the first Quartet, Elsemarijn Bruys developed a fresh concept for both new Quartets with a little help from Scott Franka,

Considered a Holy Grail of Japanese music by many, "Through The Looking Glass" is Midori Takada's first solo endeavor, a captivating four-song suite capturing her deep quests into traditional African and Asian percussive language and exploring contemplative ambient sounds with an admirably precise use of marimba. The result is alternatively ethereal and vibrant, always precise and mesmerizing, and makes for an atmospheric masterpiece and an unparalleled sonic and spiritual experience.

The fully licensed reissue is available as a single 33rpm LP and a limited 45rpm DLP, both cut directly from the original studio reels (AAA), at Emil Berliner (formerly the in-house recording department of renowned classical record label Deutsche Grammophon) for the 45rpm DLP, and at the equally famous Frankfurter SST Studio for the LP. It is also available in CD format for the first time. All versions come with extensive liner notes.

This is one of the biggest finds of the millenium for us here at Underground Music. Unreleased music by Grand Master Lenny Dee. Originally produced back in the early 90s, the master DAT has sat in a bottom drawer until it was unearthed by us. It's hard to put in to words the influence Lenny Dee and Caspar Pound had on the dance music scene. Witnessing Lenny Djing back in 1992 influenced the path Underground Music would take for the next 25 years. It's true to say this is very much a vanity project for UM. The fact it has incredible unreleased music on it too is a bonus. We've gone all out on a mind warping 12" printed sleeve with superb vinyl mastering by Shane The Cutter. The mysterious Cecil Moses & The S.G.'s (Oliver Klomp - drums, Colin Higgins - guitar, Bob Heinemann - bass, and Marc Hager - keys) unite with deep funk pioneer Lucky Brown to interpret Lucky's original "Mesquite Suite," a collection of spiritual folk/jazz modal melodies fused with earthy and arcane rhythms composed in the summer of 2015 in an ashram in the Texas Hill Country.

The S.G.'s, who specialize in their own brand of great quartet instrumental soul ala Booker T. & The M.G.'s and The Meters, adapted quickly to Lucky's experimental, rudimentary, vernacular, and minimalist approach. One thing you will notice in these tunes is that the vast space created by the musicians and the composition is what allows the FEEL to filter through, and for Lucky Brown, FEEL is what it is all about.

This first single presents the themesong of their collection, a deep tribal shuffle, "Mesquite Beat," upon which Jason Cressey - trombone, and Thomas Deakin - sax, offer their own explorations. The flip is an upbeat and minimal pentatonic anthem entitled "Justice," featuring Lucky Brown himself on funk flute.

With this release, we are proud to introduce the first installment of the "Mesquite Suite" collection on Tramp's own special limited imprint: "Tramp Tapes," a suite of original, raw deep funk inspired as much by Mulatu Astatke as it is James Brown.

Hot on the heels of the co-release between Especial and Cocktails d'Amore Music of the Sfire Remixes EP (EES023/CDA013) comes an accompanying release with a pair of deeper, stripped back remixes from the inimitable Timothy J Fairplay and Willie Burns. Well known as producers, DJs and label managers with their Crimes Of The Future and WT Records respectively, as well as appearing on a who's who of electronic labels including Pinkman, Unknown To The Unknown and L.I.E.S, they have appeared in various guises on both Emotional Response and Especial. Here then are 4 remixes - 2 each per side - that take the unique original to new dance floor extremes. Timothy steps up first with his take on Sfire 2 via differing vocal and instrumental versions. His trademark, echo laden rolling percussion and "Carpenter" key lines take the original Synth-pop homage to the dark room. Adding Arps, a lifting, hedonistic breakdown and the scatter-stepper drums and claps found on the Instrumental version and this is pure COTF territory and the better for it. Willie meanwhile has long followed his own path for his take on Sfire 3, offering one of his deepest remixes to date. Thudding kick, brooding pads and dark strings force the vocals to go down, way down for examination. The distorted vocals of Remix 1 are countered by Remix 2 letting the track shine via a seemingly endless 4/4 beat. After a very successful label launch last year with "In Aeternam Vale - Self Destruct EP". Linda Records returns with another straight talking, analog fuelled 10". This time welcoming aboard Berlin based Russian artist "Alexey Volkov". His three track EP "Cold Blooded Genius" comes finely presented on transparent red ten inch vinyl (limited pressing). Whilst staying true to its current white label feel, this time Linda's trademark eyes, also a fitting red. On the A Side at 45RPM the title track "Cold Blooded Genius" and on the B Side two tracks will spin at 33RPM, "Unfriendly Nation" & "Curtains Of Flesh". We hate to categorise and attempt to summarise what these pieces of music craft sound like into words, we'll leave you to indulge for a short time to the machine noise of the highly regarded talent that is Alexey Volkov...
