Rashad and Confidence announce the vinyl reissue of their debut album “The Element Of Surprise”. Though originally released in 2011, the melange of soul samples, classic breaks and favoring of lyrical storytelling / conceptual joints could easily have been released in the 90’s.

The 2xLP vinyl edition includes the 2019’s single “Desires” as well as two never before heard tracks from the 2011 sessions entitled “Non Stop” and “Feel It.” All tracks on the 2026 vinyl version are remastered!

Rashad, a Brooklyn NY emcee who sports a nimble and rapid flow excels at making anthemic choruses interspersed with highly detailed bars. Examples of album topics include a vivid picture of the hood while making a cautionary tale of its pitfalls (“The City”), his personal emcee origin story (“Days Of My Youth”), and the results of low motivation (“Pass Me By”) among others.

Boston based producer Confidence has made a career of sample chopping and analog warm heaters. He also tends to favor the one emcee/one producer line-up of the golden years. This extends to his recent collaborative LP's on Below System Records including “Library Of Sound” with M-Dot and “Kool Moe Dese” with Big Dese.

Arriving at a defining point in his rapidly rising career, Webb delivers the next chapter with the momentum of a musician whose audience and reputation are expanding quickly. National television appearances on Later... with Jools Holland and the Jools' Annual Hootenanny introduced his explosive piano style to millions, while collaborations with RAYE and performances alongside Wynton Marsalis mark Joe Webb as one of the most compelling emerging voices in British jazz. At the centre of Neath Beat is Webb's distinctive piano language - the rhythmic drive of stride, the melodic instinct of Britpop, and the storytelling shaped by the music he absorbed growing up in South Wales. His trio playing carries the lineage of pianists such as Oscar Peterson and Duke Ellington, channelled through the songwriting culture of bands like Oasis. The result is music that feels urgent, melodic and unmistakably personal - a pianist pushing forward with imagination, clarity and the confidence of an artist whose story is gaining real momentum.

On the new concept album Honest Work, ten songs tell stories from the adult lives of working people in the middle and lower classes. They work night shifts in hospitals, pump breast milk in storage rooms, wonder whether they should get a prescription for Ritalin, are summoned to the boss’s office for wearing the wrong clothes, or take a day off just to walk barefoot by a lake. Lyrically, Honest Work can best be described as “petty-bourgeois surrealism.” It’s an album about people trying – and often failing – to navigate systems that reduce them to anonymous data points, employees, and consumers. The album is full of desperate prayers: “Doctor, I think that I’ve got a disease” (Focus Disease), “Taking a day off… don’t even remember my own name” (Remind Me), “I serenade on company time” (Lean Dreams). In these lines, you can feel the dull ache of a generation whose emotional lives are filtered through corporate HR language and online shopping carts.

Glamgoth? Dark Electro? Industrial Cyberfunk? DEAD LIGHTS was founded in 2020, at the start of the Covid19 pandemic, forcing the international musician / producers duo (UK and NL) to work on all their output from a distance. Disguised as dark, sleazy electropop, Saul and Richard create their own personal blend of monumental synth bass lines and gritty sounds, elaborate vocal arrangements and brutal, dance-orientated beats. Their new album ‘Lash’ can be characterised as their boldest release to date. It contains 8 previously released singles which all are dance floor bangers - built to ignite strobes and command bodies into motion. On top of these, DEAD LIGHTS presents 4 brand new songs that emphasize the more cinematic side that is also present in their music and which move further away from conventional song structures.

Lavender Networks is the debut release on Warp Records by Nu Age pioneer Fire-Toolz. The Maryland-born, Chicago-based artist also produces and engineers for other artists including No Joy’s latest album Bug Land (Pitchfork Best New Music). Lavender Networks features Zola Jesus, Brothertiger, Nailah Hunter, Lipsticism, Jennifer Holm and Sling Beam. Review: It's Rough Trade's 50th birthday, and in honour of themselves, the renowned indie-stitution reaches for Cabaret Voltaire with a fresh triple LP variation on their final release on the label, 2x45 (1982) - here reimagined as 3x45, of course, to make room for the newly released extras. Then at a fork in the road, Chris Watson was still present for the first session, but gone by the second; and with two different drummers, the record's still a coherent one, as it moves perceptibly from the angular tape-and-noise experiments of their earlier discography toward a more motorik pulse. The third disc adds 'Seconds Too Late' and 'Control Addict', plus the John Robie remix of 'Yashar' (originally a Factory 12"), which hears said pulse become post-disco heartbeat. Collectors may be in for the chance of a valuable misrprint - first edition liner notes contained an erroneous discussion of The Clash's debut album, rather than anything related to the Cabs - though a revised run may have already corrected the issue by the time you cop it.

A friend of mine told me he had visited the place that Cancer House live and record.He said they jammed together all afternoon. In the moment, in the zone so to speak,he became more and more convinced that what they were making together was thebest music he had ever been involved with. As the afternoon drifted by, second byrevelatory second, he began making grandiose plans to release the recording. By the timeit was dark outside the windows he imagined it as a future lost classic, a key livedocument of a scene, a moment and an aesthetic. He thought about all the recordshe loved. He thought about the great, little known, statements of lo-fi, downer indie:dark, sweet, crawling guitar music by bands like Farewood, Bedhead, UN, orThe Sonora Pine. He could even picture the sleeve down to the last detail.

Little Beat More welcomes a new 7” from Conjunto Media Luna, a release that moves along the deep axis connecting Colombia and Mexico where cumbia mutates, and projects itself into new dimensions.
On the A-side, “Kumbia Tequendama” sees the group joined by rebajada pioneer Amantes del Futuro, a key figure in shaping the futuristic vision of cumbia across generations and geographies. Born between Mérida, Medellín, and the legendary Mambo Negro studios in Bogotá, the track reflects years of friendship and shared sonic research. Hypnotic accordion lines intertwine with dense low-end pressure, channeling an energy rooted in tradition but fully tuned to the present, built for dancefloors, sound systems, and the growing decentralized community of modern cumbia.
On the flip side, French producer La Dame reshapes “No es Moda”, originally featuring La Terrorista del Sabor, into a forward-leaning DnB and Future Bass reinterpretation. Faster, sharper, and more weightless, the remix opens a new perspective on the original while preserving its nocturnal spirit and emotional depth.
The artwork is signed by Bogotá’s own Mateo Rivano, whose unmistakable visual language has defined the aesthetic of some of the most visionary projects in contemporary cumbia.
Part of the wider sonic universe of Sociedad Internacional de la Kumbia, Conjunto Media Luna’s upcoming album, this 7” captures the group’s ongoing exploration of cumbia as a shared space, where distance disappears, traditions remain in motion, and new frequencies emerge from collective memory.

“We Dance We Think”

Sirens" resonate a lot in 2026. "Sirens" are everywhere right now, in the many fields of the human reign, sounding at its highest level ever... Pioneering Swiss DJ and electronic music producer Ripperton joins forces with Berlin-based singer, composer and passionate aural storyteller Joy Frempong (OY) to create a beautiful and deeply moving piece of electronic music. And after three years in the making, “Sirens” finally emerges. The roots of this collaboration however reach back more than a decade. Around 2010, Ripperton first encountered Joy’s first album with Oy after hearing it on Swiss national radio Couleur 3. Shortly after, he saw her playing live — a moment he describes as pure magic. So inspired, Ripperton approached her label with a request to remix her music. The label agreed, and in exchange, Joy promised to feature on one of his future productions. What began as a mutual artistic gesture quietly planted a seed and eventually, pretty much fifteen years later, that seed has fully grown. “Sirens” began as one of Ripperton’s nocturnal modular jams — exploring and playing around with pulsating sequences, pure analogue sound textures and fluid, hypnotic structures. The track was then elevated to an entirely new level by Joy Frempong’s deep, evocative lyrics and her celestial voice, transforming the song into something haunting and profoundly human. The song also grew on a shared work ethos rooted in patience, trust and refinement. A slow process, shaped by intuition and feeling rather than pressure. Listening over noise. The result is an emotionally charged composition that blurs the line between inner reflection and collective awareness — a sonic response to the sirens of our time.

Die XKatedral Anthology Series III ist die dritte Ausgabe einer Reihe von Archivveröffentlichungen, die Musik von Komponisten zeigen, die sich mit langsam sich entwickelnder harmonischer und klanglicher Musik beschäftigen. "My Falling Sinks" von Kali Malone ist eine sparsame, absteigende Melodie für justierte Orgel, Cello und Akustikgitarre mit Lucy Railton und Stephen OüfMalley. Das Stück ist eine kompositorische Skizze in septimaler reiner Stimmung, die 2021 während eines Aufenthalts in La Becque auf einer experimentellen Stimmorgel in La Temple de La Tour-de-Peilz entstanden ist. ,Empyrean Flare" von Maria W Horn wurde 2022 für ,The Dawn Chorus" der Choreografin Stina Nyberg komponiert. Das Werk wurde vor einem Jahrzehnt spät in der Nacht aufgenommen und fängt einen flüchtigen, zerbrechlichen und unwiederholbaren Moment ein, der genau so festgehalten wurde, wie er sich ereignet hat. Smoking Mother von Stephen OüfMalley wurde für Gisele Vienneüfs Der Teich / LüfEtang von Robert Walser geschaffen. Es wurde 2018 während eines Aufenthalts im SMEM-Synthesearchiv in Freiburg komponiert und im August 2020 bei EMS produziert. Das Stück greift auf Werke von Zia Mohuiddin Dagar, Krzysztof Penderecki und Popol Vuh zurück und erkundet gleichzeitig die Wurzeln des Minimalismus. ,Att boja sjalarna" von Mats Erlandsson wurde 2018 komponiert und ist Teil von ,On Eternity", einer Sammlung von vier Texten und vier zehnminütigen Kassettenloops, die 2021 von Irrlicht Forlag als limitierte Box-Set-Edition veröffentlicht wurde. Dieses Werk enthält Darbietungen von Gaianeh Pilossian und Sara Fors, jeweils auf der Violine und mit Gesang. This will be my last piece for organ wurde 2025 von Theodor Kentros komponiert und nutzt Gruppen von Cluster-Oszillatoren durch resonante Rückkopplung, um die schwankenden Frequenzen zu synthetisieren, die beim Verstimmen einer Orgel im physischen Raum zu hören sind. "Fault Lines" wurde von Daniel M Karlsson mit generativen Methoden komponiert, wobei ein deterministischer und endlicher Output für diese Veröffentlichung festgelegt wurde. Dieses Stück enthält Gesangsdarbietungen von Sara Fors, Ansis B.ti. und Art.rs C.ukurs.

We have released two Darrow Fletcher CD on Kent but he has never had a vinyl LP of his own - of any description.

This compilation concentrates on his Chicago years, though it adds a rare demo, ‘Hope For Love’, only previously available on a “Masterpieces” Kent CD. Also, we have included his one-off late-70s version of fellow Chicago-born writers Grey & Hanks’ ‘No Limit’, also originally a “Masterpieces” track and a now-deleted Kent Select 45; these fetch £100+ on some sales lists.

The mid-60s sides speak for themselves. He began his career with the acclaimed soul blast of ‘The Pain Gets A Little Deeper’ (an Elton John favourite of the time!) and followed up with dancefloor classics ‘My Young Misery’, ‘What Good Am I Without You’, ‘Infatuation’ and ‘Gotta Draw The Line’.

As was common in those days, the hip dance sides were coupled with tender ballads such as ‘Sitting There That Night’, ‘Little Girl’ and ‘My Judgement Day’. Those were particularly well received in his Chicago homebase and have been admired by slow-groove scenes like Lowriders in Los Angeles ever since.

Darrow’s late 60s recordings, though recorded in Chicago, were issued on Los Angeles labels controlled by Universal. By 1971 his producer - stepfather Johnnie Haygood - had reverted to using his own Chicago imprint Genna for the last recording.

XDCVR_ unveils 'I HATE THAT SHIT, I HATE ALL THAT SHIT' a blistering sonic manifesto on the 'performativity of decay'.

In a world saturated with digital perfection, the album emerges as a vital, hand-made act of electronic rebellion.

Framed as a "soundtrack for the end stretch" the record explores the notion that societal decay is not a passive process, but an active performance—a machine chugging along long after its wheels have fallen off.

This is cyborg music for a bifurcated reality: carbon-fiber toughness shielding a core of systemic rot. The sound palette is intentionally raw and imperfect, a direct challenge to the sterile, automated order of what the artist calls the "techno-fascist oligarchy."

Tracks eschew conventional temporality, mirroring the feeling of existing in two concurrent timelines—one hyper-aware of the collapse, the other numbly consuming it.

Drawing a line from the Cold War anxieties of the past to the data-farming dystopia of the present, 'I HATE THAT SHIT…' posits art as the last authentic incubator for societal change. It is, in the artist's words, "a deliberate 'fuck you' to the oppressive order of the status quo. This is not easy listening; it is a contested space, a lit fuse, and a necessary noise for our complicated times."

Hiriketiya is a small, enclosed bay on Sri Lanka's southern coast, where jungle leans toward the water and the days unfold without urgency.
Passing through in early 2025 on the way to Europe, Alex Albrecht spent a week here at MOND's artist residency, allowing the rhythms of the place to quietly shape the work that followed.
During the residency, Albrecht recorded and exchanged ideas with Sri Lankan musicians Dhyan Basho on sitar, Dinelka Liyanage on electronics, Uvindu Perera on double bass and Pasindu Herath on saxophone.
Their performances appear throughout the album, sampled and re-contextualised, influencing its melodic language, pacing and emotional tone.

Much of the music was shaped directly by its surroundings. Field recordings were gathered across Hiriketiya, and instruments were played wherever it felt necessary. This included rocks beside the ocean where waves set irregular rhythms, tall grasslands where wind and insects blend into the recordings, and open decks overlooking the sea. 'Round Table' captures this approach most clearly. Recorded while sitting together overlooking the ocean, a large steel table in front of the group gradually became part of the composition, used instinctively as an unplanned percussive element.

Not everything could be captured. Some of the most meaningful moments occurred before recording was possible. Those sounds exist only in memory, and the album is shaped in part by an attempt to hold onto their feelings.

Rather than documenting the residency in a linear way, the album gathers fragments, recordings, electronic sketches and field sounds, assembling them into a continuous listening experience shaped by place and recollection. MOND owners Jess and Renato foster an environment that supports artists without directing them, creating space for focus, trust and connection.

The result is a record shaped by Hiriketiya's enclosed bay, dense vegetation, heat and night air. Music formed through listening, restraint, missed recordings and the sensation of being temporarily held by a place.
