GEHENNAH's demo recording from 1994
This 10 track recording is a true hidden gem in Swedish metal history, as it had a
limited circulation back in the tape trading days. We have put great effort in
getting the best possible mastering and restoration of this nearly 30 year old
recording, and the result will blow peoples minds! The 10 tracks was recorded
about 1 year before the cult album debut Hardrocker , and shares a couple of
tracks, but is a completely different recording, with another drummer. Four of the
songs are not available on any other GEHENNAH release. GEHENNAH was, and
still is, a a brutal assault on the ears and the perfect homage to old school metal
a'la VENOM and early MOTORHEAD. In fact, the band formed in the early 90's as a
reaction to the velvet clad fantasy/ romantic/ troll infested type of metal that
started to emerge from Scandinavia at the time. GEHENNAH went for the throat
with their obnoxious, loud and raw rock'n'punk infused thrash metal. Don't miss

experiment in markmarking and sound, as a kind of writing by ear - metallic, brushed, wooden - lines imprinted and pressed circular. The record takes its name from the discarded title of the several-hundred-page draft of Clarice Lispector’s eventual 96-page novel Água Viva. Devoid of characters or plot, Água Viva appears always in suspension between the interior and exterior and impression and expression. Weird and formless (like the jellyfish ‘agua viva’ translates to in Portuguese) Lispector’s text deals less in the cerebral or the knowable realms of words and more in the unknowable moment of experience. Its joy is found in its looseness, its meaning found in its lack of definition. Loud Object began as six sides of violin improvisations, four of them abandoned and the last of them added to or processed using samplers in moments Steiger calls ‘wells’ - gaps or dips in the recording which could be filled or poured into. The process of filling up and taking away, of repeating and multiplying, of building tension between the finite and the lost - all wrestle with actualisation. Which line will be drawn? In the liner notes for the LP, Evie Scarlett Ward writes, “The record holds loss.” Though the lines are fixed, its contents are fluid - forty minutes filled in and manipulated, before time moves on. Steiger’s relentless rearranging of convention means no two of his live shows are the same, and his decade-plus involvement in London’s free improvisation scene constantly surprises. Orange Goblin formierte sich 1995 und spielte auf den ersten Veröffentlichungen hauptsächlich Stoner Rock mit stark psychedelischem Einschlag. Seit dem vierten Album 'Coup de Grace' tendiert die Band mehr in Richtung schnörkellosen Hard Rocks.

The Dutch six piece put their heads together to create two laidback tunes full of atmosphere and organic magic that blend just the right amount of spontaneity and song craft. The band have honed their sound at home and on stage with sold-out shows in and around Amsterdam, including as support act for bands such as Jungle By Night.

The A side track Loud N’ Stuff is one of those special moments when all the elements just fall into place, coming together in a hungover haze of new wave disco jams and dancing at their studio space in Haarlem. On the flip, Pada Pada combines tropical rhythms and percussion with lush chord progressions to perfectly soundtrack those cocktails by the pool on a wavy summer eve. Both tracks were recorded with Nic Mauskovic, with additional passes on the mixer for dubs and delays, to give the tracks an extra spacey sheen.

DJ Godfather rains down a chunk more of lightning bolt dancefloor music with this Loud Mouth EP. Um den Funk-Pionier James Brown zu feiern, hat sich UMe mit Sto Elliot für die Veröffentlichung von „Black & Loud: James Brown Reimagined by Stro Elliot“ zusammengetan. Stro Elliot, der als Produzent mit mehreren GRAMMY-Preisträgern zusammengearbeitet hat, verbrachte seine Kindheit damit, Jazz-, Funk- und Soul-Legenden zu spielen, zu studieren und zu hören, wobei er schon früh eine Beziehung zu der Musik von James Brown aufbaute.

Für „Black & Loud: James Brown Reimagined by Stro Elliot“ hatte Elliot die Möglichkeit, zehn klassische James-Brown-Hits auszuwählen und sie neu zu mischen, wobei er sich von verschiedenen Genres inspirieren ließ. Token celebrates its 100th release with Luke Slater, a legend of the genre, releasing under one of his most iconic aliases: Planetary Assault Systems. For over 25 years, Slater has delivered unparalleled quality in his music - a formative figure in Techno and instrumental in defining the sound globally, few can touch the Brit for depth, urgency and hit rate.

Exhibiting near enough perfect renditions of classic dance-floor moods, the four track EP is a wrought iron rollercoaster through some of the artist's most exacting work. Booming opener Bang Wap chugs unrelentingly while a lithe FX line does the bulk of the movement in the high mid range - building tension before a satisfying release in the last quarter. A2 Bolt is classic Planetary Assault Systems - hypnotic and driving with a single sequence dipping in and out of view. On the flip, Say It Loud could be an idiosyncratic hit waiting to happen - dry and tight in the drum department for maximum effect, and featuring a recurring vocal sample chopped and skewed for tension. Closer Shine takes a deeper, more psychedelic route with shades of the classic, jacking Detroit sound in the pitch bent lead line, but maintains the energy throughout with stylish delay sends upping the ante where required, all in all delivering a neat finish to the EP.

Blessed by the Californian modern funk diva Moniquea, Amadeo 85 is back with a brand new 7". Moogy basses, heavy drum machines and FX from space are the mood of this double sider.

On A side, Moniquea transcends this rough beat with her classy style, an ode to the universal party, in the deep boogie funk spirit.
On B Side, this drunk Funk Boogie is a space travel produced under the influence of liters of Vinho Tinto, with the support of Bacchus himself.

'Motherlode' is a classic James Brown compilation album, primarily focusing on his funk recordings of the late 1960s and early 1970s, & including live performances and remixes as well as studio recordings. This is the first vinyl edition of the 2003 expanded version of 'Motherlode', a 2-LP on 180g in a gatefold jacket, featuring a number of tracks never before available on LP. Highlights include a live 'Say It Loud - I'm Black and I'm Proud', 'I Got Ants in My Pants (and I Want to Dance)', the chart hit 'She's the One', and more.

Big Colors will be released on April 19 via a partnership between Adams' PAX-AM label and Blue Note Records. Ryan Adams, who has been hailed as "one of the most elegant singer-songwriters of his generation' by The New York Times, co-produced the album with Beatriz Artola. John Mayer, Bob Mould, Benmont Tench, Don Was and The Section Quartet are featured on Big Colors, which was recorded at Electric Lady, Capitol Studios and Adams' own PAX-AM.
