Throwback to the funk era! The bass really pops, accompanied by synth and choppy guitar. A real feel good track that will have you clapping along!!

B1: Feel It
Ethnic percussion kick start this track, giving it a real sense of movement. Bass slowly creeps in, along with the synth line and vocal until the break. An epic break for a disco track. The groove kicks back in until the end. An awesome track!

B2: African Land
The bass line in this track is brilliant! Very deep and ties the track together giving a flow to the whole thing. Keys compliment the bass and the percussion is very light letting the bass do the talking. Vocals go really well and top the whole thing off!!

Fantastic remastered reissue of the original Solar Sound 12' release of 'Nightlife', a stone-cold Rare Groove classic from Blackbyrds' guitarist Barney 'Blair' Perry. An absolute gem of a record that has become one of the holy grails of the scene going for mega bucks on the rare occasions copies surface on ebay, discogs etc. Recorded back in 1978, 'Nightlife' is simply stunning - with phat bass and a wonderfully soulful groove that never fails to ignite the dancefloor and superb guitar work from the masterful Mr Perry. If that wasn't enough, the flipside features the equally beautiful deep fusion sounds of 'Virgo Princess'. Quality music and an essential purchase!

Remastered reissue of Bobbi Humphrey's superb Baby Don't You Know. Originally released in 1982 on the excellent Uno Melodic Records label, this wonderful collaboration between brilliant jazz flautist Bobbi Humphrey and the legendary Roy Ayers was a match made in heaven and produced a disco boogie masterpiece. Both sides are amazing - on the A side you get the full vocal version featuring Bobbi's beautiful vocals over a stunning funky Roy Ayers production then on the flip is the awesome instrumental version where Bobbi swaps her vocal duties for the flute, and Roy beefs up the rhythm section creating a dancefloor friendly gem. Spot on!

Dean Meredith's The Rhythm Odyssey returns with the second single from his 'Metaphysical Transition' album, with the soulful 80s boogie cut 'Right On Up (For Love)'. Heavy synth bass rides a dubbed out rhythm section, with Charmaine Baines' vocals adding to the perfect summer groove. Think Prelude / West End / Tee Scott / Shep Pettibone tith The Odyssey's own 'Touch Of Magic'. Remixes come from The Emperor Machine taking it to Munich Machine arpeggio heaven, and The Main Stem stripping it back beatdown style. Lastly, The Odyssey go warehouse again with 'Amsterdam Boots'. Smoke machines at the ready.

The MIKE series continues, this time wasting no space on the record with 4 tracks from Mike Simonetti's vast edit "vault". The MIKE series has been releasing old (and sometimes new) edits from Mikes archive for almost two years now. This release is special because it includes one of his most recognizable tracks- "Express Yourself" by the Gloved One and His Brothers. Even though it is almost 6 years old it still gets heavy plays and has become a cult classic of sorts. There is also a slow disco chugger by a semi-collectible female Salsoul artist, as well as a psychedelic krautrock killer with extended fuzzed out guitar solo. But the standout track may be the re-edit of a very hot track these days, sung by a guitar slinging, hairy armed, troubadour armed with a Fender Strat and a heart of gold... But Mike had the original 45 and not the mp3, like everyone else- so it doesnt sound like crap! Take a chance on this record , you wont regret it. (wink wink) - 300 pressed, one time only.

Mister Saturday Night's Eamon Harkin dishes out another dose of rocking revamps on this the second release from his Subway Series imprint. This time the Throne of Blood man takes three numbers which should be somewhat recognizable to discerning ears and mutates them into jams designed firmly for the dance floor.

'Party Out of Sight' is a superb re-work of the Bill Wither's seminal Harlem. This edit made it's first mark a few years ago in an earlier guise on mp3 but has now been further spruced and improved for wax. 'The Better Kind' stretches out Joy Division's 'Means to an End' and underpins it with a rocking drum pattern whilst 'Turn Up the Funk' is an excellent re-work of the proto Hip-Hop number 'Shoot the Pump' from back in the day. A real bumper package!
