Newban's Magic Lady is a massive slab of afrocaribbean disco goodness pure n simple. Horns...breakdowns...killa vocals and conga's a plenty.
Girl Watching is another funk-edged boogie big hitter. Original by T-Connection, Greymatter takes the already massive original and takes things up a notch or two.

This re-release from Italians Do It Better features "Want You Back", a sparkling, hazy electro-pop / oddball post-disco song sounding like it's been made on vintage 80s keyboards. QUALITY SLO MO NU DISCO RELEASE WITH REMIX FROM LTJ XPERIENCE

In 2003 Visti & Meyland teamed up through friends and immediately found out that they shared a mutual passion for creating music. Their love of music has spawned several 12s on labels such as Warner, Music for Dreams and Eskimo. This is all very spiffing, however it is their slightly quirky, spanner-in-the-works take on things that really attracted us to the Danish paring. Their broad musical heads & certain sense of humour in their music dovetails ever so nicely with our own wacky take on the world here at Bearfunk towers.

Their self titled debut album is a result of their 7 year journey together. We love it. You've probably already heard one of its lead tracks "Yes Maam / All Nite Long". It slyly samples some US archive negro spiritual recordings and spins them a minimalist electro disco groove. Recent single "Stars" also takes a staring role with its epic extended "prog-disco" build up and rousing Russian-cold-war-navy-style chorus.

Future single "Leave Your Worries" heaps on doses of positivity with dancefloor groove and zany lyrical musings. The floor friendly "Diggy Dang" also adds to the up-tempo groover quotient to the LP. Of course there is the obligatory cover version on the album, Grace Jones "Nightclubbing" is the subject here, a fine quirky disco re-take.

Both being Gemini's, the vibe in the studio can become fairly tense, and sometimes result in hour-long discussions on music, music history, musical taste and life in general. This feeds down to the varied set of tunes. Tracks such as "Something In The Way", "Slowly" and "I'm Scared" explore the more introspective, downtempo and thoughtful side to the pairing. Epics such as "The Chair" detail the breadth of influences and the vast musical silos the pair can draw from. All in all 10 thoroughly well constructed songs.

Just as the name suggests, Funk Burners debut 12' delivers dance floor bombs certified to light up any party rocking DJ set. First up is the Disco Breaks / Hip Hop laced cut - Whatchya Got. With it's smooth 70's horns and familiar vocal edits, this is one that will surely get the ladies on the floor and your party started right! On the flip side, Electric in the Streets is a road tested party anthem. This track will make you feel like you're rocking down to an 80's block party only to find a late 90's rave in full effect. Devastation!

This amazing one-off album produced by Roy Ayers featured the group Eighties Ladies made up of the singing talents of Susan Beaubian, Marva Hicks, Vivian Prince, Denie Corbett & Sylvia Striplin backed by an all-start line-up Roy Ayers band (including Rick James who shares the production).

The anthemic 'Turned on To You" and "Ladies of the Eighties" are both included in this absolutely classic boogie-funk-jazz-soul album from the start of the 80s. Loved by soul boys and jazz heads alike, this is one of the rarest of all classic boogie albums, with original copies fetching upwards of hundreds of pounds for many years now.

Yet another unmissable, under the counter trio of cuts, lovingly crafted from the most unusual of sample sources,
