Flipping to the B-side you'll find rising star Magnolia and his buoyant soul bouncer 'Believe In L' featuring stunning vocals by Mani Hoffman (Starlight) and Million Miles. Generoco's 'Disco Jazzin' oozes in top quality, improvised jazz funk and Alastair Lane takes the tempo up a notch with his compelling and mysterious synth-tinged, disco house odyssey 'Disco Maléfico'. Elegantly ending the Best of 2023 vinyl is Parisian and AOC Records affiliate Georges with his truly sublime string laden disco groover 'Love's Away'.

All Italo lovers love Vivien Vee, where “Americano” and ‘Give Me A Break” are considered to be true Italo classics. Now, “Grandmixer” Ben Liebrand has remixed Vivien Vee’s “Wanna Feel” completely in 80’s style, with a wink to his famous 1984 remix of Valerie Dore’s “The Night”!

Conveniently, this release further features the famous bonus beats separately, so, “where the music stops, the beats continue”. For your mixing pleasure!

This High Fashion Music release further features the Ben Liebrand remix of “Gotta Go”, and Vivien Vee’s long unavailable extended version of “Higher”.

We make a return to the musical world of vinyl with a 4 track release of sublime musical proportions which comes courtesy of Lena C; who's Promenade E.P. transcendences the Smokey basements & subterranean dance floor dwellings we often inhabit. It's all aboard the Zen-Express for this release that incorporates the musical & cultural influences this French born (but now Hebden Bridge based) DJ and music producer has experienced so far on her journey.

Each vinyl is individually numbered and has hand stamped centres with a screen printed sleeve featuring artwork by Luke Martin along with an insert featuring an original image by French photographer Coralie Monnet.

Shokran (from the Arabic 'Shukran' meaning 'thank you') is a breathy affair with hooky arp lines and a chest warming bass with almost playful synth lines joining in along the way. Percussion keeps up the chug factor but never derailing from its beauty.

Haku takes in the sounds of Japan with a hypnotic bass melody wrapped around soft synth stabs, soothing strings and a dream inducing percussion arrangement which when all wrapped up together is destined to be played/heard in the sun with waves crashing, breeze blowing & a mental reset taking place.

Breeze blows in (see what we did there?) & continues to take us into the unknown and cranks the audible wonderment up to 11.
A broken beat carries spaced out synth lines & bass melody with skippy percussion which all sounds like it would be frantic but in Lena's hands its a perfect delivery of aural beauty.

Azur closes off this trip in perfect harmony and we'd maybe even book this under the 'balearic chuggers' category (though the jury is out!). Hooky melodies with a warped vocal sample (which we think is Lena but she swears it isn't!) and some truly uplifting synth & pads make this the only way to close off this stunning E.P.

Unidisc 40th anniversary continues with a Saturday Night Band classic featuring brand new Dave Lee remixes!

"Come On Dance, Dance" is a disco funk track by the Saturday Night Band, originally released in 1978. The song features an upbeat tempo and groovy bassline, with brass and string sections adding to the lively and energetic vibe. Dave Lee, also known by his stage names Joey Negro and Jakatta, is a British DJ, remixer, and producer known for his contributions to the house, disco, and dance music scenes. Lee has been active in the music industry since the late 1980s and has released numerous singles and albums under his various aliases.

Throughout his career, Lee has been a champion of disco and funk music, often incorporating these genres into his productions and remixes. He is also known for his expertise in crate-digging and his extensive record collection, which he has used to source samples and inspiration for his music.

Dark Entries has a surprise delivery! Malebox brings us six previously unreleased funk-fueled jams from the archives of the cybernetic disco titan himself, Patrick Cowley. Best known for his chart-topping disco anthems, Cowley left us with an incredible body of work before his tragic death in 1982 due to AIDS-related illness. Since 2009, Dark Entries has been working with Cowley’s friends and family to uncover the singular artist’s lesser-known sides, including his soundtracks for gay pornographic films on compilation albums School Daze, Muscle Up, and Afternooners.

But Malebox gives us more of the Cowley we know and love: churning disco-funk and hi-NRG tracks that are spacey and sleazy, gritty and sublime. Recorded from 1979-1981, these six tracks illuminate what was one of Patrick’s most creatively exciting periods. “If You Feel It” and “Love Me Hot” were both early Paul Parker demos; the former is a peak hour hi-NRG bomb, while the latter dips into Cowley’s zoned-out space disco sound. Jeanie Tracy’s soulful vocals feature on the demo version of “Low Down Dirty Rhythm”, which was later re-recorded by Sarah Dash. The slower, less-varnished rendition here hits with a wild psychedelic edge. Meanwhile, Patrick’s gifts for careful orchestration and infectious melodies shine on “Floating” and “Love and Passion”, which were likely demo tracks for Loverde. The songs on Malebox display the vitality and inventiveness of a brilliant composer taken from us too soon.

Malebox sleeve design was by Gwenaël Rattke, and features a hyper-color retro collage. Also included is an air mail envelope containing a letter from Patrick Cowley to French disco producer Pierre Jaubert as well as liner notes and hand-written lyrics. Malebox will be released on November 12th , which is the 40th anniversary of Patrick’s passing.

Legendary producer Dave Lee returns as AC Soul Symphony with the “Metamorphosis” LP - his most ambitious production project in his 35-year career.

With an inimitable CV and discography that includes over a thousand production credits to his name, hundreds of singles under renowned pseudonyms including Joey Negro, and three UK top 40 hits as Jakatta, Dave Lee is one of the UK’s most revered producers of disco and house music, defining each genre with a signature sound. Always looking to push the boundaries of what it means to make music, his latest project sees Dave return to one of his lesser-known pseudonyms – AC Soul Symphony – to deliver an epic disco record that takes the sound back to its roots in every way possible.

“A few years ago, I produced a remake of David Shire’s orchestral disco masterpiece Manhattan Skyline under the alias of AC Soul Symphony. I really enjoyed reworking that classic track in a way that retained my favourite parts of the original but also writing new musical sections that gave it more my own flavour.”

Comprising 15 beautifully arranged disco tracks that effortlessly span almost two hours, “Metamorphosis” is an album by definition, but at its core, much more than that – it is a labour of love, meticulously composed, arranged and crafted through a very tangible and human creative process which is unmatched by many modern producers.

“I do it because I love the process of creating something. My aim is to come up with an end result I genuinely think I’d want to buy, play and listen to if it wasn’t me.”

Inspired by happy memories from the golden era of TV and the soundtracks of his favourite childhood shows, “Metamorphosis” was borne of a desire to put the strings center stage and recreate the same analogue sounds that brought instrumental albums by Love Unlimited, MFSB and Salsoul Orchestra to life.

“I thought making a whole album of this mainly instrumental, string heavy, tv theme like music would be a really enjoyable project and one that would play to my strengths as a producer. It was also slightly new territory musically and a bit of challenge.”

Taking disco back to a physical place, “Metamorphosis” was an organic writing process that saw Dave lay down his ideas digitally, before reshaping the MIDI strings into a proper arrangement and recording them live with a 20-piece orchestra at RAK Studios. By his own admission, it is an album of pure indulgence, but by relying on digital production methods, it can be easy to lose sight of the soul that makes music such a unifying entity. Backing up the immaculate strings with catchy vocals and enough groove to level a discotheque, it’s this soulful energy that Dave has captured and expertly delivered with “Metamorphosis”.

After a longer break, Dub Disco is back with a special package of magical edits. Proven worldwide on dancefloors of several continents, Dub Disco decided to release these timeless gems on vinyl.

Volume 2 offers four stunning cuts from the Foliage Records back catalogue for the first time on vinyl. The A side of the sampler features Jimpsters bumping Deep House rework of South African electronic producer, Thakzin and songstress Ray T’s ‘Don’t Let Me See’. Fresh from remixing Solomun, Kerri Chandler & Joey Negro, Jimpster picks up the pace, adds layers of Afro inspired percussion and creates an ethereal effect on the vocals, resulting in a club ready classic. Side A also features the stunning ‘Addicted’ by Richard Earnshaw & Kholi, a Deep House, bass heavy groover.


The B side of the sampler has the Afro anthem ‘Unification Vibration’, remixed by legendary producer Atjazz. A prolific remixer with a career spanning 20 years, Atjazz has worked with the likes of Bob Sinclar, Gilles Peterson & Jazzanova. The track is an ode to coming together in ‘our house, our only home’. The B side also contains the heavy talents of Turbojazz & Sean McCabe with their deep & dope remix of Diephuis feat. Ursula Rucker – Listen To This Drum. This remix takes things down a deeper path to the original, with a focus on the bassline and extra percussion.

Two years after his last project Intimate Fonk, and after the beautiful collaboration with Sofiane Pamart on a film project. Dabeull, the king of funk, fresh from his timeless intergalactic journey, presents four tracks highlighting his mastery of vintage instruments with subtlety. He has sublimated his own identifiable sounds with his faithful collaborators. Rude Jude and his groovy funky dexterity, Holybrune and her velvet voice, Isadora for her suave freshness. Kunta, who we discovered on I Love You So Much, and Ferdi to make us groove. A new release for a new story on Dabeull Records.

Official re-mastered limited edition reissue of the mega-rare Blow Up records release of the Italo masterpiece Pink Footpath by Loui$. Originally released in 1985, this gem has become one of the most highly sought after Italo Disco tracks around. On the A side is Magic Dance which is good, but it's the instrumental version of the track Pink Footpath that really gets the disco DJs drooling. With its killer analogue bassline, dreamy soft synths and balearic guitar riffs, it's easy to see why it became such an anthem at the early Ibiza parties as well as a late night favourite in Chicago and New York.
