Frl Classic Edition Debuts With Two Smashin' Tracks From '96 By

Wax’o Paradiso Recordings continues its dive into the extraordinary canon of contemporary Antipodean psychedelia with its second outing on vinyl, four spacious and soaring balearic cuts from local duo Donald’s House.

From the glistening textures of 37° South (featuring renowned Australian percussionist Phil Stroud), to meandering meditative freakouts Aurora Australis and Under the Lilypad, to the italo new beat muscularity of ‘Budge-E Beat’, Donald’s House are showcasing a constantly evolving versatility and a truly unique take on the acid trip sunrise at the metaphorical Café del Murray.

Hitting the label's 15th year anniversary, Cr2 unleashes it's first of many releases to celebrate the occasion.

Paul Rayner & FevaSoul's collab recorded in the 1990's 'Seek & Find' leads the campaign perfectly - 'Seek & Find' is a UK garage track laced with neatly done percussion shuffles, slick bass-lines backed by a leaning house vibe to sweep clubs off their feet.

After 20 years unreleased and stored on DAT, 'Seek & Find' has suddenly surged into a club powerhouse that has so far been championed by the likes of Prospa and the Slapfunk Records crew' Julian Alexander, Samuel Deep, Anril Aras - MC Feva, known for his work with the likes of Jeremy Sylvester and Acetate celebrates the release, saying It's 'Great for this to finally see the light of day. The reactions on the dance floors speaks for itself!'

"If Time Where A Beat" was previously on the Ladomat Compilation only, "Compact Disc Volume 2" and on the first time on Vinyl and was the idea of a follow up to "From Disco 2 Disco"!

As the mercury gradually nudges up on this side of the world we have the perfect soundtrack for the extended evenings and we have French producer DJ Moar to thank for that. This latest chapter in his 45 Loves series entitled Funky Party is laced with that summer dance-floor syrup to keep the dance-floor cookin'.

The J side is the cool side. Moar slips on the Balearic boots for a steppers cut that instantly transports us to the beaches and seaside sunsets. Some clever vocal samples are sprinkled throughout. Feelin' it!

On the flip JJ, Moar shifts gears and treats the listener to a Paisley-punched French house tribute that bangs! With a straight-up funk-fueled chorus we'll all be bellowing out this summer and coupled with a tight horn section this Punk-funk feast is a real treat for the listener.

Frappé is releasing its 1st studio EP on November 30th and it's a standout record: the parisian label has asked the great Art Of Tones to collaborate with the jazz / funk band Chatobaron, whose leader is Frank Chatona (from Cotonete).

This is a highly special project for the label, coming from the heart of its founders Basile de Suresnes and Ten Fingerz, who have had the will to create this unique collaboration between the amazing House music producer Art Of Tones and top-quality studio musicians. Under the direction of the House Music artist, the band led by Frank Chatona (Saxophone, drums, guitar, bass guitar and keyboards) have worked together on the tracks, which have been recorded during a very intense studio session in Paris. The result is a crystal-clear and warm sounding EP, which is a hybrid between the club sound and the jazz funk studio sound. Frappé has decided to celebrate this work the best possible way with a digital release and a limited edition vinyl pressing. Only 300 copies will be available, don't miss it!

I picked up the tracks I am particularly close to (further to 'Alors on danse' by Stromae, 'Lady' by Modjo, 'Bornslippy' by Underworld, 'Played-a-live' by Safri Duo, 'Sandstorm' by Darude, which we do not control anymore), because they were real challenges...and I won! The first two releases want to be a tribute to great international artists, which I had the pleasure to bring to success in Italy: GURU JOSH (earthly name Paul Walden, who recently passed away) and CALVIN HARRIS (on my opinion the most complete pop-dance artist in the last 10 years)' Moroldo explains.

Now stepping up for Razor N Tape’s Reserve series, the Tel Aviv local brings his infectious blend of hazy MPC chopped samples, vintage synths, drum machines and other gear oddities to highlight his organic yet playful edge on these disco-infused, house explorations.

Legendary producer Dave Lee returns as AC Soul Symphony with the “Metamorphosis” LP - his most ambitious production project in his 35-year career.

With an inimitable CV and discography that includes over a thousand production credits to his name, hundreds of singles under renowned pseudonyms including Joey Negro, and three UK top 40 hits as Jakatta, Dave Lee is one of the UK’s most revered producers of disco and house music, defining each genre with a signature sound. Always looking to push the boundaries of what it means to make music, his latest project sees Dave return to one of his lesser-known pseudonyms – AC Soul Symphony – to deliver an epic disco record that takes the sound back to its roots in every way possible.

“A few years ago, I produced a remake of David Shire’s orchestral disco masterpiece Manhattan Skyline under the alias of AC Soul Symphony. I really enjoyed reworking that classic track in a way that retained my favourite parts of the original but also writing new musical sections that gave it more my own flavour.”

Comprising 15 beautifully arranged disco tracks that effortlessly span almost two hours, “Metamorphosis” is an album by definition, but at its core, much more than that – it is a labour of love, meticulously composed, arranged and crafted through a very tangible and human creative process which is unmatched by many modern producers.

“I do it because I love the process of creating something. My aim is to come up with an end result I genuinely think I’d want to buy, play and listen to if it wasn’t me.”

Inspired by happy memories from the golden era of TV and the soundtracks of his favourite childhood shows, “Metamorphosis” was borne of a desire to put the strings center stage and recreate the same analogue sounds that brought instrumental albums by Love Unlimited, MFSB and Salsoul Orchestra to life.

“I thought making a whole album of this mainly instrumental, string heavy, tv theme like music would be a really enjoyable project and one that would play to my strengths as a producer. It was also slightly new territory musically and a bit of challenge.”

Taking disco back to a physical place, “Metamorphosis” was an organic writing process that saw Dave lay down his ideas digitally, before reshaping the MIDI strings into a proper arrangement and recording them live with a 20-piece orchestra at RAK Studios. By his own admission, it is an album of pure indulgence, but by relying on digital production methods, it can be easy to lose sight of the soul that makes music such a unifying entity. Backing up the immaculate strings with catchy vocals and enough groove to level a discotheque, it’s this soulful energy that Dave has captured and expertly delivered with “Metamorphosis”.

Musically the title track 'Stranger Days' is a fender rhodes (live played) driven jazz-funk-disco cut that is both mystic and funky at the same...a perfect basement disco jam!

Flip things over and the B1 track 'Galaxy21' is a spaced-out rare groove jam that comes across as a blend of psychedelic 70s funk and 80s punk-disco...a truly freaky jam with some amazing strings towards the end.
To round things up Al did a real number on an Eddie Palmieri track that Walter Gibbons used to play at his parties. It begins in Latin/Salsa...but travels far beyond ;).

After his faboulus album „All the colours“, the one and only producer and painter Andy Ash is back on Quintessentials! Cat. Number 88 is a limited (150 copies) one sided 12“ with two different tracks, showing again Andy’s versatility. US-inspired house grooves or Italo disco smashers, he can do it all! And yes, check the digial bonus „Round hands“ for some serious Acid! 88 all round!
