Duca Bianco has always had a loveable erratic approach to putting out edits. They have come at irregular intervals from a gamut of unknown artists. That leftfield tradition continues here with so-called "goth-percussion merchants" Black Bones who travel far and wide across four hard-to-define cuts. There is a real sonic scuzz to the first one 'T-2017' which is macho disco for a strobe-lit back room. 'Coming On Strong' meanwhile is techno-disco for the main room with crashing drum textures and machine-gun synths that echo the great 'I Feel Love.' Totally flipping the vibe, the B-1 cut 'BEEF' is spangled late-night disco with rugged guitar riffs and funky bass hidden amongst oodles of reverb. Closer 'Keep Dancin' is AOR pop with big strums, crooning vocals, and intense walls of sound all destined to make an impact on dance floors that like it different.

One of the best boogie records of Nigeria repressed for the first time. Produced in 1981 by Jake Sollo and performed by himself flanked by the outstanding funky bass by Randy Taylor and the great vocal performances from the Galaxy girls. Recorded and produced in England but originally released only in Nigeria.

Teaming up with Milan based duo ‘Eternal Love’ - the desert island diggers and label have reissued a ‘Cairo calypso’ inspired Egyptian rarity known as ‘Zawgy Al Azeez’ along with ‘Yom Fil Kahera’ by 90’s popstar Sally.

Dar Disku was introduced to this hidden gem by fellow MENA crate digger Moataz aka ‘Disco Arabesquo” after his recent trip home to Egypt. Once the duo heard the track, they immediately knew it was destined to be flipped for the dancefloor. After tracking down the original owner of the 90’s Cairo based label ‘Digitec Records’ the duo embarked on a series of online meetings and idea exchanges between Amr (the original composer of both tracks) and Eternal Love. Over a series of weeks, ideas, voice notes and project files were exchanged and by the end of the collaboration … a calypso tinged groover sprung to life.

Embracing the original sonics of 90’s Egypt and combining this with thumping Yamaha DX7 bass, caribbean percussion and detuned snares - a future classic was born. "

In the midst of the summer of 1988, a duo of artist from Belgium and Italy got together in the surroundings of the infamous X-rated film Rocket 23 Studios Molenbeek to build a seductive sound.

Originally involved in the cinematography and art direction of adult movies, the two mavericks decided to compose the soundtrack of what was going to become a cult movie of the late 80s erotique era: "Sexo y Fantasia".

The Belgian and Italian directors discovered back then the new beat, proto house and italo sound at the underground Ghent disco club "La Pircardía” and at “Club Spaziale” in Rimini, after their wet shooting days. Inspired by this bubbling European hype, they added features and distorted vocals from the X-rated movies they were filming at that time to the melody and beat of the soundtrack. The result is a powerful, unexpected and deep collection of tunes that sound fresh and vibrant today.

These unique tracks get to see the light of the day again thanks to the finding of the filthy master tapes together with a provocative fanzine somewhere in Brussels. Its images served as raw material for the adult artwork.

"Sexo y Fantasia" gets now revisited by current producers on the leftside of the beat: t-woc uses his masterful expertise to build an atmosphere of Balearic layouts, while Alexander Arpeggio works his way around a hypnotic and punchy remix of the original theme.

Two tracks devoted to two of New York City's most legendary nightspots via the Papaya Detroit label. 'Danceteria' strides with a confident disco swagger, dropping down to mechanised handclaps and Rhodes piano before the female vocal arrives as the cherry on top. 'Loft Night Theory', as its name suggests, has its roots in slightly older, more organic sounds, complete with warm pads and exotic bongos. David Mancuso would approve, we can instinctively tell.

Last in the Nature Boy series we offer you another 6 previously unreleased pumping house trax produced by Milo Johnson in the early 90's. Yes the ruff disco years! Found on dusty DAT tapes, now carefully mastered and cut on wax.

A 12" featuring four different artists from the relatively new label from DJ and producer Anton Bogomolov aka Scruscru (SlothBoogie Jamz/Omena), although it has to be said its individuality and freshness are increasingly upping its profile as each new released drops. Russian duo Street Choice open up this time round, getting the swears in in a matter of seconds (and throughout) but lifting us into orbit with 'Still On Is MF Record', a gloriously sweat soaked collision of house, disco and US garage. Evidently feeling a bit more mellow, Scruscru himself offers up a Flute mix of 'Long & Sleepless Nights', evoking jazzier French house scenesters like Etienne de Crecy or St Germain. On the flip, Juravlove's 'Boys & Girls' ups the tempo again and the mood with it, a cure acid line sneaking in behind more organic instrumentation. The more reflective Nephews' 'Polo Blanco' brings things to a warm, more snuggly close, ultimately leaving us with an Ep that has heaps of variety and quality in equal measures.

Now for something a little different on the Make A Dance imprint, M.A.D 003 sees the first joint release on the label and welcomes rising Yorkshire post-punk outfit DEADLETTER to collaborate.

When we heard the demo for ‘Line The Cows’ we knew we wanted it and with Make A Dance being more of a feeling than a genre, we knew there was scope to collude. Two studio sessions later and we had it in the bag.

The first version of ‘Line The Cows’ is a combination of both the Make A Dance and Deadletter styles, a synthetic baseline providing a deep groove as the backbone of the track with Zac’s vocals cutting through like a knife.

The second track we recorded the band doing a full live take in London’s Pony Studios showcasing just how tight this 6 piece band are.

On the flip Make A Dance get to work with the remix package with broken beats and arpeggiated baselines, turning the track into a dark twisted monster fit for a 4am bass bin workout.

Returning to his much acclaimed "Point Breaks / Beach Breaks" series, Telephones kicks things off in a big way with the emotional-euphoric party jam "Another Time", sounding something like if The Avalanches covered Daft Punk, finally remixed by Pal Joey. Warp-driving us away from side A is "Playa de Cochlea", a tripped out full-spectrum ambient tsunami - a drexciyan UR-meets-Blade Runner beatless trip at high sea. Flip for the more chunky street-soul/breaks/hip-hop oriented track "Refshers", which could easily have been a lost Leftfield remix of Sade. "Dew Drops" wakes you up somewhere in the foilage of your jungle-life, before Telephones' literally steps up the game with his own "Steppin' Dub"-remix of "Phase Alternate Line" from EC04, bumping it into a four-four 2-steppish balearic rascal. Another tight European Carryall-essential straight from the source!
