Geraldine Hunt's 1980 classic "Cant Fake The Feeling" gets the remix treatment from none other than Carl Cox. Featuring 2 new mixes from Carl plus the original and the highly useful dub.

"Can't Fake The Feeling" held the #1 spot of the Billboard Dance chart for several weeks in 1980 and sounds as fresh as ever... Carl Cox needs no introduction with a career dating 4 decades and still going strong. Oh yes.

With some of the best DJs and selectors there is a certain mysterious sound or underlying feeling which unites the music they play, regardless of genre, year or tempo. Luke Una is a master of telling a story through music and this compilation is a perfect example of his musical alchemy in action. Featuring tracks from Yusef Lateef, Airto Moreira, Crooked Man, Henri Texier and many more, it is a collection of new, old, rare and under-discovered music from around the world, all united by Luke under the banner of “E-Soul Cultura”.

It’s best described by Luke himself, who writes: “As the 5AM city sleeps and the strobe lights are slowly turned off, we gather on the wrong side of town in a transcendental journey alone together. Beginning his career as an original Sheffield house young blood in the mid 1980s, Luke’s move to Manchester and partnership with Justin Crawford saw the birth of Electric Chair, a cornerstone cult night in the UK underground club scene, and later Electric Elephant, a Croatian festival paying homage to their wild eclecticism from Balearic to Brazilian to E soul, house, disco and techno. Luke’s much loved, long running Homoelectric night and more recently Homobloc sell out festival for 10,000 souls has been at the forefront of Manchester’s LGBTQ cultural landscape.

Luke’s Friday evening show on Worldwide FM has captured imaginations and has already become a cult four hour must-listen monthly journey with fans all over the world. Today Luke remains, as ever, at the forefront of a changing scene, pairing the momentous legacy of Manchester’s 80s and 90s scene with the delivery of what today’s club communities need to get down.

Mori Ra strikes back at MM Discos with "Gaia Edits", after the successful release back in May on the label of the "portuñol" duo, Da Silva and Dj Katah welcome again Osaka's best record collector with 4 new high quality editions.
Staying loyal to his eclecticism, Mori Ra approaches this time a lil more to the dancefloor by doing a more hedonistic work than his previous release on "MM Discos" , an exuberant "disco-no-disco" exercise mixed with ethnic references, wicked percussion, charming marimbas and an endless of psychedelic elements. A record done for the soul; spiritual, mystic, highly addictive and 100% danceable.

A very special release where the Japanese artist has involved his son who helped with choosing the sound source for this record.

If you researched 'Dancefloor Ready' in the dictionary, this track would be what you'd find. This peak time stomper has all the elements required to bring a smile to every head on the DF.

A2. Three Hours To Midnight

The second track by the two Spaniards warms up its listeners with some sample wizardry, before exploding into a track worthy of closing your eyes, and putting your hands in the air.

B1. Les Belles Dames

On the flip, proceedings are started with a more down tempo groover. With mesmerising chords and an addictive hook, Les Belles Dames would add a certain romance to any dance floor.

B2. Les Belles Dames (Danvers Remix)

Bringing a different vibe to the EP, Danvers expertly reworks the B Side of FW003. Danvers already boasts outstanding solo projects, on WotNot and FINA White to name a couple of labels. He also has releases on Heist and Phonica White as one half of Kassian. For a more breakbeat, 2 step audience, this is the track for you.

After this January’s reissue of their 1987 indie – facing compilation of early singles – ‘Where It Is’, The Beloved are back with a 30th Anniversary Reissue of this 1st album proper - Happiness.

Happiness was recorded from late 1988 to summer 1989, influenced by the band’s immersion in the nascent UK Acid House scene. Originally a four-piece guitar/synth band, The Beloved MK1 parted ways late 1987 and founder members Jon Marsh and Steve Waddington were newly liberated by their electronic, machine-driven rhythm section. The perfect synchronicity of the Balearic stylings of the underground clubs and exposure to early Chicago House corresponded with a burst in songwriting and sonic adventure. The result: Happiness!

Recorded mostly with producer Martyn Phillips (who subsequently worked with Erasure, Jesus Jones, & Londonbeat) the band created a hybrid of British electronic pop music, US club beats, euphoric mood and consistently optimistic and uplifting lyrics.

‘Happiness’ was certified Gold (100k sales) in the UK and made numerous Best of 1990 Top 10s across the UK music press, while they graced the covers of NME, Melody Maker, Record Mirror and were featured in The Face, i-D and broadsheet newspapers. They were nominated for multiple awards including Best British Video for ‘Hello’ at the 1991 Brit Awards.

Four singles were released: ‘The Sun Rising’, which gave The Beloved their first Top 40 hit in October 1989; ‘Hello’, released January 1990, which peaked at No.19 and led to the band’s first appearance on Top Of The Pops; ‘Your Love Takes Me Higher’, which became their third Top 40 hit in 1990; and final single ‘Time After Time’.,

Available as a 180g heavyweight double vinyl package for the first time & double CD/digital, ‘Happiness’ has been remastered from the original analogue studio masters (by John Davis at Metropolis Studios) and has a significantly louder and clearer audio than the original release.

Laroye’s 'Best Girlfriends' (Soulful mix) - released digitally last year - is a lovely Rhodes laden bumping kinda groove. Nice and heavy organ driven chunkiness, bringing an infectious swing around those urgent vocal samples. Some pretty tasty synth solos in there too.

BRS 'Night To Remember' - released digitally as a single last year, is a classic BRS house groover, with deep chords over an irresistible 4/4 shuffle with rhythm guitar, meandering flute and boogie bass, building and keeping you locked until that vocal bursts through to finish the job.

Mike 'Agent X' Clark’s 'Journey Thru Afroism' was an exclusive for the compilation and is as the title suggests a true journey into Mike’s world of Afroism with cleverly hypnotic sampled chants over a deep tribal style groove and soaring synths and hints of jazz.

Part Four in a series of 12” vinyl EP’s celebrating 30 years of Z Records and the legendary Dave Lee. Featuring sought-after tracks and remixes by, Joey Negro, Horse Meat Disco, The Sunburst Band, Mistura, The Revenge and The Reflex.
