Original 2021 reissue of the italo disco anthem originally performed by Ivana Spagna in 1982 under the "Fun Fun" alias project.

Grammy Award winner Louie Vega has the unique ability to spotlight and highlight the most essential elements of classic dance tracks and remix and recreate them to create something just as powerful for today’s audiences. Currently in the midst of putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming album, Expansions In The NYC, Louie took some extra time to gather together the original members of the seminal New York – based disco funk band Unlimited Touch and collaborate with them at Log Cabin Studio in Manhattan and his own Daddy’s Workshop Studio in New Jersey to produce the 2020 edition of “I Hear Music In The Streets.”

Unlimited Touch consists of Audrey Wheeler (lead singer), Phil Hamilton, Tony Cintron, Sandy Anderson (RIP), Stephanie James and Lenny Underwood. “I Hear Music In The Streets” was originally released on legendary imprint Prelude Records in 1981.

Growing up in the Bronx, from an early age Louie had an affinity and love for all the various musical genres that were bubbling up in New York during that era defining creative period. It is that passion that has stayed with him during a career that has brought him Grammy’s, several worldwide hit records, and a status as one of the world’s most sought after DJs. It was especially fulfilling for Louie to work with the original members of Unlimited Touch, He quickly realized that their talents were still as strong as ever as they performed musical and vocal elements from the original song, and that they had the vision to see how the song could be re-energized by having Louie add his unique production elements to this seminal tune.

Louie is in the midst of an especially prolific and productive period. In 2016 he released the Grammy nominated Louie Vega Starring….XXVIII full length album; 2018 saw the release of the widely acclaimed and chart topping NYC Disco 2 X CD and 4 X vinyl album on Nervous Records. Known universally as “The Maestro” due to the standards of excellence he maintains in his productions, DJ Performances and live appearances with his Elements of Life Band, Louie Vega is now ready to unleash another gem to add to one of the music industry’s most remarkable body of work.

Soul Central return with ES002 - "Days Of Disco EP" following up Electric Shrine ES001 which firmly set the scene for this underground label, and sold out within a week of release, becoming an instant collectors piece and serious weapon for DJ's in the know.

Here we have a collection of raw Disco inspired cuts starting with "Just Friends" which is a serious neo soul stomper crowned with a prominent sing-a-long chorus. Whilst "Party Together" offers a relentless Boogie bass overload. Third inline comes "Your Smile" which takes the form of a sensitive Soul ballad vocal, adding in classic ascending strings and some modern House syncopation, turning in a deep journey laced with dancefloor dominating tones.
The final track "The Michigan Slide" is a real disco vibe that revisits a 300 year old Bach melody on Clavinet.

The complete EP is dusty, groovy and banging to say the least, maintaining a resounding quality that this standout UK act always deliver... great music that makes you want to dance.

New X-masters! After the massive Nicholas/Morning Factory release its Finn Gold with the 2nd X-masters. Finn Gold resisted his routines and started working on some other music... Opening track is a briliant cover version of the classic Atmosphere. Pretty bold to cover such a classic, but Finn Gold nailed it! Flip side gives 2 other excellent 90's inspired tracks for the body and soul. Pretty amazing release!! Recommended.

debut on wax. Schlappendisko EP comes with 3 original
pieces drenched in funky chord stabs, thumping basslines

Seminal early 80's HI-NRG / Synth disco emanating from the gay clubs, bath houses and discotheques of San Francisco. A truly original and groundbreaking sound and style helmed by studio genius Patrick Cowley. Heavily informed by sonically charged science fiction fantasy and the darkest corners of nightlife, 'Mind Warp' is a cornerstone of electronic music that still astonishes today. Originally released on Cowley's own Megatone imprint in 1982 the album marks a definitive change in direction of post-disco dance music, undoubtedly inspired by European artists such as Kraftwerk, Moroder, Yello and more. A huge influence on what was to come through in later years via house and techno music, 'Mind Warp' is a bonafide classic and every single self respecting music lover or DJs home should have a copy!

Vinyl only. Even though we're not paladins of pure concepts, the sound we're currently looking to release usually has a raw, kinda primitive and rough around the edges nature. We're definitely not looking for the generic "soul sample meets a 4x4 beat" kind of edit. For this release we challenge 4 of our favorite Porto producers to give their unique twist to different samples and sounds of records we love. Ranging from upbeat disco rhythms to organic drums and hypnotic g funk melodies this release has it all. We truly believe this is a honest representation of part of the Porto music movement that makes us proud.

On 'We Got Our Shit Together' we find a ghetto-disco jam that just builds and builds with some big horns and orchestral strings.
The B side 'Let It Go' is a warmer vocal affair that drips of soul, funk...and of course disco.

This five-track beauty kicks off with "Kili" by Vagabond Club Social, a funky fresh disco roller with an infectious bassline, dreamlike chimes and heavenly strings that go on for miles. The perfect start to this all-star release!

In at the A2 spot is "Oasis Of Luv" by Saint Paul, a juicy disco number dripping with style and pizazz. Combining a memorable vocal hook, a pulsating rhythm and a super funky bassline, Oasis Of Luv is a guaranteed crowd pleaser!

Over on the B side we get things started with "Freedom" by Hotmood & Igor Gonya, a straight up disco belter that comes in hard and fast with a heavy bassline and a pounding beat. Add in lashings of horns, guitars and vocal refrains and Freedom qualifies as a certified dance floor jam!

At the B2 in Decent Rides with "Only U", a chunky, funk laden track with a killer vocal hook and some super vibey guitar and string melodies. Add in some generous portions of sumptuous filter house style sweeps, and "Only U" is an undeniable floor filler!

Last but by no means least is Júlio Cruz with "Enjoy". This sultry, soulful number ticks all the right disco boxes, with tons of bass and strings, and a beat that won’t quit: the perfect end to an awesome release!

A loose ensemble, Liquid Canoe is the brainchild of Wolfgang Matthes, a lost Angelino who’s swapped the rush and push of a mega city for the space of the Pacific Northwest - and listening to this eight track offering, you’ll realise that space is the place. Armed with an array of vintage synths and programmed rhythms, Wolfgang sketched out a slew of inter dimensional transmissions, inspired by the commune electronics and space rock of 70s Germany and inhabited by the spirit of the boogie. Inviting friends to drop by and lend their own instrumental skill, Wolfgang quickly turned Liquid Canoe into a true collaboration. Finalised in a converted stable on Galiano Island, the LP is a perfect marriage of the electronic and organic, shimmering arps and spheric synth bass intertwined with American primitive guitar, nuanced hand percussion and glassy chimes. As this mind expanding collection stretches out towards infinity, you’ll hear Floyd-ian funk, cosmic dub, tangerine daydreams and micro-dosed ambience, all imbued with the memories of New York lofts, Bay Area warehouses, skyscraping pines or the world wide web of fungi. ought after Parisian dj & producer Young Pulse is dropping his first EP "Love Will Bring It", the result of his true dedication to the disco and the garage house.

Renowned for his sound signature on reworks of disco/boogie tunes from the late 70's - early 80's, and his successful remixes of french pop legends like Veronique Sanson, Françoise Hardy, Sheila… it was just about time to release his own material ! The single "Love Will Bring It" is an original disco track involving the powerful South African singer Natalie Nova. "There's Never Been (No One Like You)" is a cover of the underground disco-boogie favorite, and the third track is a garage spin of the classic "Keep The Fire Burning" with the warm vocals of UK house singer Natasha Watts. "Love Will Bring It" is an uplifting EP, crafted for today's dancefloors. Produced with love, passion, admiration and respect for the beautiful era of dance music.

Born in London to Nigerian parents, LyricL's early and enduring musical influences came from home. A drummer/DJ Daddy, who “loved African Jazz, Gospel and High Life, entertained with chest-tap percussion, beatbox and skillfully played his hands as wind instruments, as Mommy dances and sings in her own key of happiness to this very day.”

Wilderness Festival, Southport Weekender, North Sea Jazz, MuseumsQuartier Austria, StreetFest London, Sabolai Music Festival Ghana and the Toronto Jazz Festival, have embraced her creative works. An eclectic catalogue that spans Hip-Hop, House, Jazz through to Afro and Broken Beat with a soulful edge, stirring grooves enhanced by her lyricism and Spokenword.
