As part of a three track vinyl package on Madrid label Lovemonk, New York/Madrid DJ, producer and vinyl vendor Oli Stewart, better known as Casbah 73, goes back-to-boogie-basics on the lead track, along with a B side re-fix by Chicago's don of the disco edit, DJ Rahaan, and a full-on Percussion Jam instrumental cut.

'Love Saves The Day' is a joyous tribute to open-minded and inclusive clubs past and present with a sly nod to the seminal New York institutions like The Loft and the Paradise Garage. But this record isn't some banal exercise in faithful reproduction, rather a exhuberant slice of soul-disco that reignites the spirit of these underground nightclubs, lofts and warehouses. Rahaan's on-the-spot offer to remix 'Love Saves The Day' came about after a chance meeting with Casbah 73 in Madrid. A couple of days were spent checking out records and drinking wine - Oli is one of Europe's leading disco, soul and jazz vinyl dealers - when he played Rahaan an early demo. The rest, as they say, is history...

Max Essa completes a trio of terrific releases on Hell Yeah with The Great Adventure EP. It's packed with more grown up dance floor dynamite and later in the year will be collected together with the first two parts to make for a full album.

By now you will know that Essa is part of the UK's Balearic mafia. He's served up big tunes on Is It Balearic?, Aficionado, Music For Dreams, and his music always acts as a sonic raft that floats you out to sea and leaves you bobbing up and down in a state of pure bliss.

Opener 'Tombolo' starts as acoustic music and the sound of a muffled crowd but soon awakens into an uptempo affair littered with toms, guitar licks and claps that are driven by bumping drums. There are elements of old school, Italo and classic house but somehow it feels completely new and fresh as it takes you ever higher.

'The Great Adventure' is masterfully sun kissed disco with crisp 80s drums, love struck chords and a yacht rock feel that is pure joy, something like topless dancing with sand between your toes and umbrellas in your cocktails.

Closer 'Fool in the Pool' sinks into gentle tabla drums and unhurried chords. It's horizontal and thoughtful - the sound of a lazy afternoon somewhere on the Mediterranean coast, gazing at glistening seas through the romantic lens flare in your sunglasses.

Two new banging reworks by DJ DSK, these tracks have been reworked from the original stems for a big sound and absolute dance floor dynamite. As usual the DNA Edits get right to the heart of the music it reworks and adds an intro and outro for easy DJ use. In this volume DJ DSK has taken on the classic Donna Summer song creating a big funky-disco remix with beefed up sound and a funky extended outro break. On the flip DJ DSK has reworked the classic INXS hit into a break beat smash with a big sound and of course intro and outro for the DJ to utilise and still contains that great vibe contained in the original song.

Horse Meat Disco grace Glitterbox Recordings with their first-ever full-length album Love & Dancing, a joyous, 14-track collection of the nightlife titans’ exquisite productions. The four-strong DJ collective of Luke Howard, Severino Panzetta, James Hillard and Jim Stanton started their disco shenanigans on New Year’s Day, 2004 at The Eagle, Vauxhall and over the 16 years since, their nightlife tenure has seen them become a global brand. Milton Wright's perfect deep Soul classic "Keep It Up" has always been a top shelf record, everything about it is almost flawless! Whether it's Milton's silky vocal delivery, the incessant guitar driven back beat or the total space Funk vibe of his omnipresent ARP-2600 synthesizer this record has it all. Originally released on TK Disco's more Soul and Funk orientated Alston label which was home to many legendary artists and records, this 1975 sunshine classic never fails to make people move. A classic rare groove indeed. "The Silence That You Keep" takes up side-B, a jazzy, flute driven love song that again features Milton's perfect voice and some fantastic arrangement. A real gem of a record, with the original 45 changing hands for over £100 a time in used condition.

This is the first time "Keep It Up" has been re-issued in it's original 45 rpm format with the original Alston label artwork. It's been re-mastered, re-pressed and made available again with the permission of TK Disco / Alston Records, Miami Florida, USA.

Following the reissue of Model Citizen, here is another seminal cut, out of the stellar Interactive Test's catalogue, this time by the visionary mind of Franco Falsini with one of his artist names Open Spaces, as well as the owner and mentor behind the label. Dreamy and progressive house at its best, composed at the dawn of the 90s Open Spaces is definitely another much deserved reissue, not only for the expensive price of the original 12" but because its contemporaneity and the absolutely stunning sound and deep soul.

The eternally prolific duo PSYCHEMAGIK are back once again (already?!) with yet another mind blowing edits package.

This latest offering from the Cosmic Forest is their reworking of Chillys, Yardbirds classic, For Your Love think epic 10 minute cosmic dancefloor monster complete with guitars, violins and soaring vocals.

And then there’s more… the flip “Aldeia De Ogum”, a reworking of the Joyce original, has Ibiza sunset written all over it, transporting you immediately to the beach within the first few bars.

Latin percussion blends with beautiful guitars, flutes and horns to create a truly breathtaking sonic vista .

The time has come again: Another edition of the much-loved and highly praised by critics from all around the globe compilation «Paz E Futebol» will be released on Sonar Kollektiv. After 2006 and 2016 this is already the third sequel of this terrific series of light-footed Brazilian gems and other rarities transporting the Brazilian feel for
the ball musically.

Two times Jazzanova took care of the collection, now Junior Santos is responsible for digging up the tunes. The Brazilian drummer and producer is a true expert when it comes to Brazilian music. He already caught the attention of Jazzanova’s Jürgen von Knoblauch with the 2014 released compilation «Brazilian Disco Boogie Sounds (1978-1982)» on Favorite Recordings. Together the two diggers selected eight songs that fit simply perfectly. Due to licensing reasons, the digital compilation features 2 additional songs by Chico de Abreu & Celso Rubinstein chosen by Juergen von Knoblauch. Although the
contributions originate from three different decades (1979 - 1992) they all have the discoid and boogiesque vibe in common mainly to come alive in productions from Maranhão, Rio and Bahia.

Two giants of Brazilian music back-to-back!

Jorge Ben can do it all - vocalist,songwriter, musician, producer and to many their ‘all-round’ favourite Brazilian artist. Jorge has had an amazing career, involved in music from the early 60's through to the current day, writing countless classic songs for him and other artists.

This awesome samba-disco-funk joint 'Waimea 55.000’’ is a lesser-known production, taken off a 7” B-side released on Som Livre in 1978. This is a gem which needed to be dusted off and given the
wider audience it deserves.

Baby Consuelo with her distinctive voice is one of Mr Bongo’s favourite Brazilian singers. The only female founding member of the mythical group Os Novos Baianos, Baby is a real innovator andpioneer, changing her persona and musical styles over the years, but still staying unique.
Here we have Baby at the start in raw psychedelic hippy mode,
giving a powerful vocal delivery where she manages to sound simultaneously badass and lovable. This early song was released in 1970 on RGE records on a compacto 7” credited to Baby Consuelo and additionally featured on OsNovos Bahianos’s debut album 'É Ferro Na Boneca!’ in the same year (re-issued on Mr Bongo in 2019).

Purveyor of fine disco grooves and future funk, Ron Basejam, returns to Futureboogie with the bustling 5 track EP, After The Rain'.

Having already contributed some key releases and remixes to the label, from his 2016 collaboration with Neil Diablo, his first class remix of The White Lamp's It's You' to his stellar productions as part of Crazy P, Basejam gets right down to business across all five cuts.

Rhodes keys glide over soulful vocals and a frenetic percussive workout on After The Rain' as elegant soaring strings lift the atmosphere perfectly. A raw and stripped back bass and drum funkfest shapes The French Exit', whilst on Raise', a heavy synth riff breaks out over tom-laden beats and uplifting vox.

The quality never drops as further excursions into soulful street vibes are dished out across Jacob's Chair' and the positively energetic euphoria of After The Sun'. An EP packed with many different shades of Ron Basejam's continually on point productions, this is a must for lovers of the boogie!

Stalwart of the scene, Craig Bratley, serves up big Italo flavours all over the '99.9% EP', ably backed with a remix from Mr. Andrew Weatherall. With previous releases on Neil Diablo's To Rack & Ruin, Tsuba, Is It Balearic and Robsoul Recordings, Bratley's Futureboogie debut opens with the searing synths and chugging arped bass of '99.9%'.
