In an attempt to brighten up your summer of social distancing, Flat White Records bring you 4 track EP from jazzy-house extraordinaire, Diamond.

Following on from his recent release on Salin Records, the Oxford based artist maintains his current run of form with an EP that not only showcases his trademark sound, but also his versatility. Each of his three tracks bringing something new to the party. Cosmic.

This time on the remix is the legendary Inkswel, who (with the help of Kel On Earth and Sloth), has conjured up with a wobbly rework of the track “Better Way” to add yet another dimension to an already exciting EP.

The cosmic artwork is provided by @backdowntrav, and on point yet again with the label design is @dwilsdesign.

Mr Bongo presents the first 12" in a series of remix packages curated from Ebo Taylor's brand new album 'Yen Ara'.
The 81-year-old composer, arranger, guitarist and vocalist has been a key figure in the evolving afro-funk sound since the Seventies, working with the likes of Apagya Show Band, CK Mann and Pat Thomas. This 12" combines three of the best remixers in the business - the legendary Ron Trent, west coast talent Flako, and disco connoisseur Nick The Record.
You will hear the high-energy afrobeat, sweet highlife, jazz and konkoma influences that Ebo is famous for, and the remixes have contributed their disco pulse, house groove, and hard-hitting percussive edge to the tracks.

Joe Cleen is back on SBEDITZ after his first outing smashed dancefloors worldwide. Dare we say this EP is even better than the first?!

Four Disco bombs blurring the lines between edits and full blown reworks. Nobody does it like Joe.

A total of four killer dancefloor curveballs from Kampala, Uganda, performed and composed by the traditional mataali drum and vocal troupe Mubashira Mataali Group (pron: moo-ba-shee-ra). Esoteric and unusual although fantastically joyous to listen and dance to, the unbelievably tight multitude of percussionists provide the perfect backdrop for musician-come-filmstar Sulaiman Sulait to deliver his entrancing vocal performance with a strong islamic message at the heart.

Hong Kong-based, French-born artist Romain FX delivers a killer quartet for Exploited’s milestone 30th ;Shir Khan presents Black Jukebox’ release. With previous releases on labels like Fantastic Voyage, Fauve Records and 44100HZ Social Club and support for his music from DJ Harvey, Black Madonna, Tensnake, Erol Alkan and Red Axes, he comes with some serious pedigree.

‘A Fuego’ invokes the spirit of early Balearic house with its Latino vocal chants, sampled piano chords playing a triumphant progression, trumpet blasts and sweet chime melodies echoing around the soundscape. ‘Western Outlands’ continues the balmy feel with infectious woodblock melody trading blows with rubbery synth bass and euphoric melody aplenty. Close your eyes and you could be in the open-air era of Amnesia dancing to Alfredo. The authentic ‘80s synth refrains and tribal vocal loops combine in powerful fashion and make for another winner.

‘Jungle George’ somehow manages to rock a panpipe riff and old skool MIDI guitar notes without sounding crass — which is probably something to do with the taut electro bass groove and rolling bongo / conga rhythms that surround it. Rainforest recordings add a heady feel amidst the cool melodies. ‘Dancing In Hong Kong’ provides a madcap end to the EP, a cute little ‘80s electro-funk jam where jaunty keys, organ bass and a little city pop vibe rub up against each other.

London based Brazilian artist Laima announces the 12” vinyl release of ‘Disco Pregnancy’. The release follows from her double-vinyl debut album ‘Home’, released by DEEWEE last November. ‘Home’ is a striking proposition. It’s a package which features two records that are designed to be played simultaneously: Laima’s vocal and synth tracks on the ‘Tonal’ disc alongside Iggor’s beats on the ‘Rhythmical’ record. By syncing the two records listeners are offered an unconventional way to experience the music.

The ‘Disco Pregnancy’ 12” will be released on 6th March 2020 and for the first time features the combined Tonal + Rhythmical versions of album tracks ‘Disco Pregnancy’ and ‘Home’, all recorded, produced and mixed by Stephen & David Dewaele (Soulwax/2manydjs).

Mesmerising, ghostly, seductive, urgent, poignant, “Decider” is about the ultimate endgame: death. This track draws you into its web and holds you there. There’s no escape. Is there anything after ‘the end?’ If there is, will it bring happiness, or just more pain? And, are we to be judged by The Decider when we get there?

The inspiration, if you can call it that, for the song comes from the band’s own recent experiences. “We’ve lost a few people recently that we were close to. It does tend to make you ponder the universe, and whether you get a second act,” says Butch Dante, guitarist.

Filmed on location in the Texas panhandle, the video will be the second of a triptych of films written by Butch, focused on the band’s main preoccupation: the fact that the world is ending and people should be kinder to each other while it does.

Originally released in 1993 by the Italian imprint Minus Habens Records, 'Concrete Jungle' is the second album by this seminal project of Dirk Ivens (The Klinik, Absolute Body Control). A work considered as groundbreaking by lot of fans of early 90s industrial, noise and EBM. There are few electro-pioneers that are still active and successful and Mr. Ivens is one of them, inspiring a lot of acts to follow in the past three decades.Concrete Jungle' is being released for the first time on vinyl in a limited/numbered edition of 700 copies. Double record including all the original tracks plus the 'Extended Play' EP (1994) and some songs from old compilations. Artwork based on the original design and presented on a deluxe gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves and numbered card.

Deeplay / Opilec Music offers up three new versions of a classic and previously unreleased (on 12" at least) disco-fried Giorgio Moroder track in the form of 'Utopia - Me Giorgio'.

The remixer is Opilec Music boss, I-Robots, who has reworked classic Moroder material
before and who is a huge fan of the disco and electronic music pioneer Einzelgänger.

The concept of this release was simply to create longer versions of the track that was originally included in the From Here To Eternity partially mixed album - incredibly no one else has officially done this since the original release date in 1977.

Importantly, though, because the track is so seminal, the remixes are all hugely sympathetic affairs that don't change the atmosphere or intentions of the original artist.

Up first is the 'I-Robots 1977 Reconstruction', which has just seen the original extended from 3:23 minutes to almost 7 minutes (all these reconstructions are long). The result is a fantastic thing that is now perfectly suited to club play with fulsome modern production, a revisited version that is a perfect reinterpretation maintaining the spirit of the '77 original.

For the 'I-Robots 2014 Tape Reconstruction', the remixer had a dream that he found an old original Moroder tape in a flea market and used it to beef up this track. The addition of analog tape background noise gives the mix a dirty and dusty vintage sound and as such it now has a strong and powerful impact with infectious drums, frazzled synth lines and plenty of meaty disco dazzle.

Finally, The 'I-Robots 2014 Reconstruction' is the clean version of the Tape Reconstruction with a powerful tech-house beat underpinning it, making it the version most suited to heavy dance floor usage.

The vinyl release includes only the 1977 and the 2014 Tape Reconstructions and is handled exclusively by Opilec Music.

“My Love Will Set You Free” Final release? We see the question mark popping up over your head. Well yes, these four tracks are a time capsule, a historic cache which takes you back to one hot summer of 2019. When this care-free boy band formed and made it their goal to climb up the world’s stages to play an all-hardware live set & have f.u.n. while doing so. This endeavor went swimmingly. Festival gigs were pocketed and crowds intrigued. The stand-out track of their gigs was always “My Love Will Set You Free”, an acid-house stomper with uplifting, yet melancholic vocals from their friend ÆN.
Friends and neighbors were quick to re-interpret the song and the idea of a record took shape.
Lehult’s Lucky Charmz propels the listener into the void by upping the acidity. Closing in on a playtime of 10 minutes, we’re readily giving up our sense for time and space. Whirring drum hits meet feedbacking tape delay while riding the rock solid bass line.
Erobique liked the song so much, he quickly drew up two versions of his own. His “Disko Mix” oozes that saccharine, danceable magic mélange of days past. Warm keys, hand claps, and Aen’s intimate voice are stirred into an exquisite cocktail. You know that Carsten Meyer would never forget the umbrella on top. He’ll keep the cherry though.
The “Black Velvet Mix” closes the curtains for a slow dance. This is personal, it’s just between you and the song. Sub rosa.
In the meantime, Volker.live decided to follow separate paths of their adventure, but everyone agreed to release these songs into the world. May they serve as a reminder of what can be created out of care-free energy that’s driven by a deep connection to music. Moderne Recordings Split EP 12 vinyl release: The Revolving Eyes & Nelson Bishop. An excursion between Exotic/Slow/Disco/Body/Wave.

Celebrating its 10 years label anniversary Permanent Vacation releases a top-notch package of 16 brand-new tracks by their main artists including John Talabot, Tuff City Kids, Mano Le Tough, Tensnake, Red Axes, Pional and many more. Plus special guest Joakim, who contributed the track 'Camino De La Luna'; paying homage to his classic remix for Antena's 'Camino Del Sol', the first big hit on the label 10 years ago.

EVEN ETERNITY HAS TO BE MEASURED AND THAT'S WHY IT IS TIME TO CELEBRATE 10 YEARS OF PERMANENT VACATION WITH A BIG FAT ANNIVERSARY COMPILATION.
But let's look back for a minute, because a lot has happened since Tom Bioly and Benjamin Fröhlich dusted off the mirror balls in Munich. Since the 1970s the city always had a reputation for being one of the world's disco capitals and Permanent Vacation took good care of this precious heritage being partly responsible for the new found love of Disco music and its variations such as BALEARIC, COSMIC, KRAUTROCK or PROTOHOUSE.
Back then Tom, who for several years had been working in the music business, was a regular at Play Records that was run by Benjamin, who had also been busy as a DJ and party promoter. Soon they became friends and discovered their astoundingly similar taste in music. The label name
PERMANENT VACATION also reflects the way the label came into
existence, since the its main concept was developed during pingpong
matches rather than at a conference table.
Already their first release, a compilation of the same name—'PERMANENT
VACATION'—, was celebrated as 'razor-sharp, pulsating, pornographic, all
fuses opening crazy pop' by one of Germany's leading daily newspaper
Süddeutsche Zeitung.
Taking off from here Permanent Vacation managed to become one of the
flagships of the new movement and had several genre-defining hits with the
reissue of Antena's classic "Camino del Sol" album (even the Pet Shop
Boys claimed it as an influence) and the accompanying remixes.
Next up was the album "Miss Diamond to you" by singer Kathy Diamond,
produced by the wild boogie wizard Maurice Fulton. This album was
followed by multiple releases worth mentioning, many of which can be
called modern day disco classics by now: Tensnake's 'Coma Cat', which
entered the UK top 40, Azari & III 'Reckless with your love', albums by
Swedish Italo princess Sally Shapiro and by Vienna heartthrob Wolfram,
Jacques Renault's remix of Midnight Magic's 'Beam Me Up', 40 Thieves
'Don't turn it off', Todd Terje's 'Remaster of the Universe remix collection'

The sixth release from Hong Kong/Tokyo label Palms & Charms sees the return of Barnaby Bruce, and starts with a tale of daring escape.Hearing the approach of a loping synth, the protagonist checks the window: mysterious people are gathering outside his house! As a somewhat Gallic groove emerges, he and his girlfriend are in his car and heading south, driven on by the swing of the percussion. Will he find his deliverance On The Continent
Next up, Ruf Dug steps in with a spacious electronic reggae-esque remix, leading up to a killer piano line which pushes the groove straight onto the Autoroute. Ces't magnifique.
On the B-side, our erstwhile fugitive and partner awake by the side of a country road in southern France. A baguette, a bottle of wine and the sound of chattering insects. Oh, For The Cicadas!
As they head ever further south, they begin to reflect on what Other Worlds await them at journey's end. On the car radio a band plays a curious but driving blend of disco and percussion, with a distinctly house-influenced melody. Cette musique les deplace.
