We really are excited by our new release. Taken again from the vaults of Mr Stu Gardner we have the next instalment of the Twinn Konnexion story. We released the single SDE17 way back in 2016, a double sided 45 of "dont fight the love", a blistering slab of modern boogie soul that sold out very quickly upon release. The single was first championed by Dj Jeremy Underground at many of his dj nights. Move on a few years and we have discovered the original studio reels from that session. And it doesn't disappoint!Pulled from those reels are another 3 amazing compositions where no doubt Mr Gardener called on his long list of musical associates. The information of the players and singers has never been divulged with us, not sure why the secrecy & frankly we don't care. What we do know is each song oozes class from start to finish and there is something for everyones taste.

A "Sunshine of you day" has an almost gospel feel to its rhythm, with the singer telling how his women lights up his day. And to be honest its lite up our HQ since we had it. Just ripe for the dancefloor!Moving on to the B side we have two incredible ballads/2 step songs for that connoisseur amongst you. B1 "love side facing up" Well as soon as you hear the opening guitar and horn section with the male singers sultry voice you just know this is taking you down that classic 2 step sound that was big on the London and rare groove scene. The wonderfully monikered Golden Flamingo was one of many labels operating alongside the now legendary P&P Records imprint in late 70's to early 80's NYC. Fans of deep Disco, raw gritty Soul and rare as hen's teeth Electro and early Rap know of the cult status of it's brief but influential output and in recent years the P&P label and it's associated entities have enjoyed further popularity through the exposure of it's music by some of the world's most respected DJ's and selectors, and rightfully so. An amazingly lo-fi, endearing and overtly underground aesthetic runs through all of the labels, from the label artwork down to the music itself. This style is evident on Margo Williams' epic 'God Save And Protect All The Children', a colossally rare 12" from back in 1980.
A huge, drifting soulful Gospel number, 'God Save...' has been an oft overlooked gem in the wider P&P related catalogue. Not much info is known about Williams other than she contributed backing vocals to some classic Disco records including Inner Life's 'Inner Life II' and The Salsoul Orchestra's christmas LP as well as appearing on other P&P projects. The production on this record was handled by the absolute powerhouse duo of Peter Brown and Patrick Adams so it oozes that amazing quality that these 2 legendary studio figures brought to all of their projects - the trademark P&P sound. It's all here in this beautiful stirring plea to the lord to look after all of us set to some incredible arrangement and production. It's obvious these self-made music industry legends were at the top of their game back then and one only has to explore the rich and diverse catalogue of amazing music they've given us over the decades. Absolutely essential repress action here.

LEE MOSES is back on Outta Sight in 2020. The cult soul figure caused a stir last year with our first ever reissue of the legendary “Bad Girl” (OSV188), still available.

Now, thanks to our friends at Gusto we are proud to present the FIRST EVER 7" SINGLE of the soul-defining side “Pouring Water On A Drowning Man”! This landmark track has been known to collectors since the mid-Sixties thanks to James Carr’s Goldwax recording and it has been covered many times by the likes of Percy Sledge, Otis Clay and in more recent times by Elvis Costello.

But none of them hold a candle to Lee Moses who tears into the track and spits out a definitive so-soulful masterpiece. Who needs a B-side when we give you something of this magnitude! Ok, so we’ll spoil you with the Dynamo-dynamic rarity “Never In My Life” produced by the legendary Johnny Brantley. A truly stunning 45 to see the New Year in!

The Godfather of the Montreal disco Robert Ouimet was a resident DJ at The Limelight between 1973 to 1981.
Basically this man got history!

After a fine release on Basic Fingers last year he now got two funk-disco edits for GAMM. On the A side Robert takes on a classic, Yellow Sunshine by Yellow Sunshine (translated in French on the release) which was a well established b-boy anthem as well as a classic cut for DJs like Danny Krivit and David Mancuso.
On the B, we find another obscure funk-disco jam packed with soulful vocals, moog synths and big disco breakdowns.

25 years ago the Pacha Ibiza vibe was brought to Belgium by Patrick Soks, who has been hosting the Paradise parties at Café d'Anvers since then. Derrick May, Derrick Carter, Stacey Pullen, Todd Terry, Pete Tong, Dimitri, Marcello, Doc Martin, Laurent Garnier, Sven Väth, Bob Sinclar, Luciano... they all played their first Belgian DJ set at this legendary Belgian party. The Jane Antwerp, celebrating its third birthday this year, is launching 'The Jane Vol. 2 - Depth Of Focus'. The vinyl is limited and contains amongst others 2 tracks exclusive to this compilation (Sue Avenue and Frankey & Sandrino), the classic TonyLionni track Found A Place and Making A Living, a house classic from 1994 by The African Dream. End to end, back to back solid gold SOUL & FUNK bombs are what's contained on this slab of wax! That's right, Gwen's 1979 LP has lashings of dope drums, wriggly bass synths, brass and of course, THAT voice! Absolutely stellar tracks on here - 'all this love that I'm giving' - famously sampled by Cassius on their infamous smash 'feeling for you' is actually the album opener! The whole album unfolds from this point and we're treated to the classy, string laden 'I can only think of you' next. All in all this album has always been one of those rare LP's that has soul fans frothing at the mouth, traditionally a very tough one to track down and always commanding high prices on the collectors market. Released on TK Disco's CAT offshoot label and produced by the equally legendary Betty Wright (!) this is one sure shot that you'll need on your shelf and on your turntable if you're into this kind of flavour!

Cardiology came to light earlier this year with a sure shot from Yann Polewka, and now returns with more upfront disco house delights courtesy of Julio Cruz. Title track "What Is It About U" is a heart-stirring peak time pumper that matches disco romanticism with a forthright rhythm section, while "No One" gets a little more looped up without losing that heavy dose of soul. "Honey" keeps things cyclical and strutting - a perfect edit-heavy workout for the heat of the night. "Be Around" takes things deeper, shedding the disco tones for a more techy flavour that still matches with the upfront mood on the rest of the record.

A funk ridden shakedown from start to finish, one for the more lively parties you might play at.

The timeline Ep is a nod to the journey of label head Jamie Trench. It features a blend of tracks previously only released on limited VA eps and digital only releases. All four cuts epitomise Jamie’s style of heavy bass and drums with lots of sample cuts. The eps these tracks feature on have been heavily in demand so it’s great to see them resurface.

2 on each side of a 12' heavyweight slab, with the logo debossed on the sleeve. First up is a 'LYK LYK', a playful festival tune giving a nod to early rave sounds, and breaks.
This is followed with POLY PINEAPPLE which leans on the Belfast boys' love of fuzzy Italo disco and techno.

On the flip they collaborate with long term school friend and blog partner Rory Hamilton (aka Hammer) for the first time. ICE BOWL takes the B1 with broken drum patterns and melancholic chord progressions ... "We are big fans of freestyle and old Baltimore club tracks, starting off with a broken 808 we began jamming together chopping vocals and melodies live, in our heads keeping it fun but rough."

Last, but not least, 'DAY 3' re-ups the tempo back up with a stripped out pad driven techno track. "This one was made after a few long days in the studio, being sick of drum machines at that stage we plugged in the vocoder and started making beats out of that. 'Day 3' was intended for that early morning feel when the sun is just about to break and the light begins to creep into the club."

Italo-disco inspired house music, IN MY DREAMS is the latest single from New York/Moscow duo IPF aka INTERNETPOWERLIFTINGFEDERATION. A warm, galloping bass line fuses with razor-sharp synth stabs, creamy pads and late-80’s house drums. A dual-vocal exchange explores self-delusion, obsession and a single-sided relationship between girl and the boy who lives in her head. Melancholic yet pop-y, IN MY DREAMS wouldn’t be out of place in club run by Erasure, Depeche Mode or Human League at their most soulful and dancefloor-ready. In the spirit of classic 80’s dance music traditions, the original mix gets three additional reworks: a classic Electro version, a “big room” friendly HI-NRG version and stripped down version. This is the first release from New York city based label Daddy Issues, limited pressing 150 copies only.

Futureboogie continue to shine a spotlight on Bristol’s ever-burgeoning music scene, with an EP from Natural Sugars, backed with a firing remix from accomplished Lithuanian DJ, Manfredas!

Having previously cropped up on Glasgow’s Invisible, Inc. label, Tim Oxley Smith’s Natural Sugars project serves up some top-drawer sunshine vibes on the ‘Zombie Jungle’ EP. The title track pulls down the sun visor for an exotic and alluring mix of tropical beats and proto-house elements, whilst a dubbed out mood is cast over the chugging Balearica of ‘The Soothsayer’.

Manfredas has cut his teeth on the DJ circuit to become a most in demand selector on the leftfield circuit, and makes a rare foray into remix territory with a spicy version of ‘Zombie Jungle’. Thick bass synth over charging Italo beats, a touch of cowbells and a ‘hands in the air’ inducing breakdown, what’s not to love! ‘Sarsen Trail’ rounds things off with hovering keys, subtle acid and chorused guitar licks over a chugging rhythm

Kicking off the year in style, with a new album by someone we've greatly admired and whose music we've followed for many a year; the mighty William Burnett aka Willie Burns / Speculator and Black Deer.

We first were introduced to his music through the wonderful Grackle remix by our pals T.Keeler & Capablanca. Over time we've followed his many aliases with much enjoyment and can still recall hearing the first Black Deer music being played one afternoon in Phonica and NEEEEDING to know everything about it. There's also fond boat party memories in Stockholm soundtracked by the UTTU release. Not to mention WT Records putting out some brilliant records by now familiar faces - our favourites include Art Crime, Kartei and Tummy Tummy!

Recently, William has started a new long form interview podcast, Talk Video on The Lot Radio and Marc Maron comparison isn't far off the mark. Well worth digging into. He's also been making music for himself and we're chuffed to be releasing some of that with you now.
