Veteran Chicago House pioneer Boo Williams delivers stand out genre melding EP on Italian record label, NICEPEOPLE. The three track EP meanders through elements of house and techno with real depth. This is the “LOL” EP, landing January 2021 on vinyl, and you can happily say this one fully lives up to its expectations.
The title track “LOL” chugs along with pure energy of sounds of the past, twisting beeps and bleeps whirring throughout. The shuffling drums make this one, brushing by as they continue to drive the opener. The clue is in the title here as Williams uses trippy samples of laughter which flash in and out throughout the duration.
Next on the agenda is “Backwards Run”, a blissful deep and emotive encounter with Boo doing what he does best. Trickling synths and pads meander around a clean cut house arrangement, voices circle around the belly of the track making this another hypnotic outing.
Elastic bass creates a sense of urgency in “Bangin Out”, the last of the EP which takes up the whole of the B-side. A real abrupt and direct track, the kind that leaves the crowd in a trance when utilised in the right moment, creating suspense in the club room before elevating to the next track. A tinge of acid and intelligent keys arrangement make this masterpiece.
This is Boo Williams at his finest once more, landing on a label that is not afraid to push a variety of sounds as long as the consistent quality is there. A real nod to sounds of the past, no egos in sight, just plain and simple effective dance floor sounds from one of the heroes of this vibe.

Conceived in the middle of the cold and hollow North Sea, the story of "Moartea Unui Ego" EP dates back to 2017, when Romanian talent Core was travelling through boundless expanses of water that, over the days, have shaped the earth of the three originals. Opener "Acid Holidays" is a top-notch piece full of cosmic sounds, 303 splashes and epic pads that bounces over an unceasing bassline, always ready to erupt. Thus, "Hertz" goes deeper with crystalline textures, sharp groove elements and intimate pads, while B1's, "Moartea Unui Ego" tells us a fairy tale of a magical woods populated by curious creatures. Closing the EP, Romanian veteran SEPP turns the original into a club-oriented tool, relying on his rousing hypnotic synths and a majestic groove.

HDSN is an artist of distinct talent. Even he´s still flying under the radar of the broader audience chances are high that you came across his musical output that is singularly creative. His work not attached to any trends. Instead, he operates within a deeply personal sphere, working influence from experiences spanning his lifetime and old-skool records that inspire him. He made his name with balmy house thumpers carried out over twelve instalments on NBAST for the best part of more than five years now. So it´s no wonder that he follows up with a beefy sequel to his previous released joint “For My People” a release that did connect as closely with people’s hearts as it does with their feet in the club. “I House You But Love” marks another fruitful EP for the producer. A record that feels like he’s just cracking the next piece of the puzzle. By the time you get the opportunity to experience these tracks live, there’s no doubt they will pull you into the get down groove. That is to say: NBASTWAX013 is vivid and it will move you. The next release on Nanel is here. “Boomerang” is definitely a drifting composition with no dramatic expansion. The piece’s structure is developing in a soothing manner, leaving enough time to adapt to every part of it. Methodical kicks are coated with layers of immersive sound combinations, beaming into a different dimension. A side with it’s enthralling designation is the beginning of a ethereal journey through the sonic theatre of this record.
The hypnotic effect of “Necontenit” comes in force as soon as the shadowy chords are making their appearance and emerges into an actual story that can be told in words but we will leave that to you. Side B is pollinated with some dub elements, reminding of early P.Laoss and making the whole experience richer emotionally. It’s one of those pieces that belong more to bedroom listening rather than noisy outside ones. Nanel is an ocean of music where listeners can float.

For the jubilee of the 10th release on Questo, labelhead Francesco Ballato brings together some friends of the close environment for a „Various Artist“ compilation on vinyl and digtal. Mandibula, Stoga, Senoo and Bee Lincoln in collaboration with Francesco represent diverse aspects and musical components. which unite groove, melody and danceabilty for maximum enjoyment.
Side A1 features a cooperation of long-term groove brothers Francesco Ballato and Bee Lincoln. „Daddys Choice“ was born in a jam session and re-edited to serve a full bass load on a summerlicious track. Smart percussion pattern give a nice fluff as a compensation to slant and humorous synth sounds, embedded on positive sphere vibes.
Senoo, who already released on labels like Tzinah Rec., Baile Musik or Whoyostro, comes up with the title „Baby loves Sour Diesel“. An incredibly groovin’ tightness pairs with a deep flowin’ sphere and makes this track super-functional on the floor.
Flip the side and here we go with Stoga, who is in charge for the latest release on Questo. „Arrived“ is a warm-shakin’ and well-tempered tune with a theme-like melodic synth. Ready for open airs.
Freiburg-based Heimatliebe artist Mandibula takes over the warmth and adds a slightly driving rhythm in „Feeling Frenzy“. Known for his affinity in sound aesthetics of generating moods with synth-based elements, he does what he can do the best: an extraordinarily intense and mind-blowing tune for the clubs.

The Hammersmith Flyover track starts with fresh organic acoustic elements and continues to throw them in the right spots throughout the whole track, being accompanied by constantly evolving melodies and synths aswell as smooth, intricate percussions.
The B-side brings Paul Agripa on remix duties. Warm and soothing synths are triggered in the track’s first breaths since the sound of it presents a more deephouse approach. Later on, the swingy, playful hats come along in carefully chosen times, defining the track’s final build.

Sihl Records – Vinylstore, based in Zurich (Switzerland) is more than happy to announce the first release on our new record label which is split into two ongoing series called S.R.B and S.R.W. We start things off with the first and well selected 4 track VA on S.R.B. The concept behind the various artist EP’s is to present you two bombs from better known artists and two killers from not so well known, Swiss based artists. In our opinion, the perfect balance on a VA. By the way, the first release for S.R.W. is in the pressing too and also available at beginning of March 2022. Stay tuned and for now enjoy our very first two releases on vinyl. Love from Zurich to all diggers out there.
