DJ Octopus returns to Hot Haus Recs with 3 trademark Jackin Jersey Houz Jamzzzzz!

Back for his already third run on the label, Berlin-based producer Berobreo returns to Sundries to take care of the 2nd vinyl release in the catalogue.

Undeniably funky from start to finish, the 'What Can You Read On It's Thoughts' EP is all about those driving basslines and clean cut samples that have become synonymous with Berobreo's output over the past two years. While the A side, featuring the title track alongside another rather 'Delightful Affair', is probably the funkiest of the two with some serious old-school flavour sprinkled all over, the flip provides a bit more punch with 'Migrante' and especially 'Pina Colada' slowly taking this one into the early hours.

Join him as he dominantly enters the dohyō ring, harnessing his inner force by tapping into tantalising rhythms and sharps grooves that ever keep you craving with anticipation. As the momentum gradually intensifies, colourful and tessellating melodies permeate the steady beat, revealing a calmness of spirit only possessed by true champions. It is with ambient tones and encouraging percussions that MDC structure these four tracks, building up the excitement for the fight to come.

First up is 'Heatwave' by Cubik, a stomping house jam with soulful undertones and a pulsating bassline. Cubik’s clever use of vocals sets the track off, giving it an undeniable summer vibe. Following Cubik is Adham Zahran with 'Tender Sun Pin', a hands-in-the air disco floor filler. Infectious riffs, a throbbing beat and enough cowbell to last a lifetime, 'Tender Sun Pin' is an instant classic! Taking us into the B side is straight up bumpy house joint 'Visions At Night' by Jesusdapnk. Infused with a haunting vocal loop from start to finish, and a drum pattern that won’t quit, Jesusdapnk delivers yet another crowd pleaser. Finishing off the release is 'Keep You' by Michael Oberling, a mellow deep house beauty infused with soulful electric piano and trumpet riffs, a catchy bassline and dreamy yet distorted synth lines. A sure fire after hours hit!

Defined Limited kicks off with it's second edition. The LP contains four brand new tracks that sure will be killers on the floor. Lashing soundscapes, subtle vocals underpinned with a tight basslines and massive beats. Bubbling acid lines laced with dubby fx, elegant pads interweave with filtered chords create an atmospheric trip with a proper groove. Tracks from Felipe Bravo, &dres, Javi Lopez, Ignacio Morales and Alvaro Medina.

Thinc returns this time with the mysterious Viceversa, who divulges the corners of the modern underground sound, to bring two dancefloor heaters.

The Italian marvel is back warming dancefloors delivering two deep original cuts. Scenario offers an emotive journey filled with bright synths, mellow pads and rhythmically infectious grooves. Tentenone follows with a classy and smooth bassline carrying the waves of pads throughout this house and minimal medley.

On the B side, Thinc has joined forces with Arapu, presenting an unforeseen alternative to Scenario. Along with his highly-refined textures, Arapu enchants us with this slow-burning rendition, using exceptional layering to bring together a masterpiece. Creaking doors, whispers, and everything in between, this roller seduces dancers to Thinc deeply.

Dense, stylistic and melodic. Volantis Debut EP is a blend of italo pads, old-school kicks, hats, guitars and hypnotic synths that make the tracks full of dreamy emotions. Irresistible percussive lines before elegant chords raise your mood to cloud nine.

As time passes, Aforisme label is only adding gems to its catalog and the next one to shine is Root with his Cezariad EP. A combination of deep drums throbbing through layers of bass lines and melodious partitions.

He outsets with “Cezariad” – a dynamic composition with satiny claps that evolve throughout the time of listening into a core part of the piece. With a start-to-end listening, we can hear the bass line groaning sometimes in the back of the glossy keys and electronic environment. The casual shots are colonizing the imagination of the listener, estranging it from the primary source of the sound. A peaceful start is something to sum this up.

“Black Gold” – the name speaks for itself. A metallic continuance of the record with generosity in bleakly sounds and eccentric build up. The digitalization of this track can be felt from the first minute and we talk about the sonification of Root’s message through this particular piece. It reminds us of a playful xylophone paired with floor rhythms in a minimalistic entourage.

Taking the whole side B of this record, “Quantum Anomaly”, builds its surroundings in distorted ways and more specific – bleeps and stretched alien-ish pads that wrap in an out-of-room sonic voyage. The dynamics of Root and Parallax Deep are immaculate here, both putting under the spotlight their visions in a co-operative way. Speedy drums of Parallax’s are amiably confronting Root’s ghostly view on the melodic build-up.

Honne Music is pleased to announce our next vinyl release (HMV04), once again a compilation of different artists; managing to put together a good musical variety for all tastes. On side A we have the old school teacher and legend Steve O' Sullivan with his track "Keep Me Waiting" which is a start to finnish master class and a perfect example of how to express multiple feelings through music. Complementing that side is our friend and incredible person RQZ with his track "Blow Out", touches of mystery and seriousness is what describe this track the best and of course a perfect groove to start heating up any dance floor. Side B start with another good friend from many years ago, Dot with his track "Against All Odds" a track with a lot of aggressiveness, sophisticated drums, dope and progressive bassline, and to finish side B we have a family member Louiv with "Thoughtful Moment" and as the name indicates, a perfect track to get you thinking about life, a track that makes you feel many emotions once you hear it, the power of the bassline and those subtle enveloping pads that go in and out throughout the track can transport you to any memory no matter how remote it may be.
