On his first solo EP for PHORMA, Italian dub explorer Hydergine provides two original tracks, accompanied by a remix by Informa Records' Deepbass. The EP kicks off with the powerful and mesmerizing Entheology, while the second track Japanese Dreams takes a more placid approach creating alluring soundscapes. On the flipside, Deepbass, who previously appeared on PHORMA010, gives Entheology the remix treatment and transforms Hydergine original into an epic 9 minute journey. After a recent well recieved outing on Distant Worlds and an equally impressive split on Verdant Recordings, Mihail P (+) returns with two superb techno tracks showing his depth of knowledge for Detroit's second wave and also for B12 and their emotive bleep techno from the 90's, all while putting his own distinct spin on things. Following on from the heavyweight collaboration with Sasha for ‘The Lights’, Kölsch returns to his IPSO imprint for a remarkable remix of the trance classic ‘Stella’ by Jam & Spoon.

Adding his own signature progressive tones, whilst keeping the original synths and vocals, Kölsch’s remix rounds off with a pulsing acid line. The rework is set for acclaim as it continues the trajectory from ‘The Lights’ which was made Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune on his BBC Radio 1 show.

This latest release solidifies IPSO’s reputation as one of dance music’s leading labels, with the Dane expanding the brand to Miami, Watergate Berlin, and Amsterdam Dance Event last year. Alongside this, Kölsch performed two sold-out IPSO shows to 8,000 people in Antwerp as well as playing two 10 hour sets on consecutive nights at Belgian venue Waagnatie.

Well known for his genre-defining cuts, Kölsch has sold millions of records all over the world under his many different monikers, including the seminal LP ‘1977’ and renowned albums ‘1983’ & ‘1989’, with the latter including the hit single ‘Grey’.

Having already played sold out shows at Printworks London and T7 Paris, Kölsch looks set for another busy summer this year with performances lined up at the likes of Coachella, DGTL Amsterdam, Awakenings Festival, Sonus and Creamfields.

LOy has had a string of successful releases and we just fell in love with his sound so asked him to write an ep and boy did he deliver. Our release is a collaborative EP with our influences and friends with whom we all share the same vision. We have experimented many ways to achieve these deep and mental collaborations in a minimal experimental style while incorporating the strangest and most mysterious sounds that stimulate our imagination. The mixture of folklore is palpable in each track, incorporated into the interstices of the background and other sound designs. This vinyl has launched a long series of vinyls that will each have a hidden mystery to be discovered...

After a slightly longer than planned gap since the last release, 3am is back on wax a little after its 16th birthday in June, with its final in the series of Various Artists EPs (maybe?), before moving to focus on artist-only releases. On the 91st release for the label, we welcome a couple of new additions to the roster, alongside established artists from the label's 16-year history.

Opening up the A-side is V.I.C.A.R.I, also known as Tommy Vicari Jnr; anyone buying and supporting vinyl will be fully versed in the work of V.I.C.A.R.I - the beauty is that you never really know what you might get, as releases across a multitude of high-profile vinyl labels have shown over the last few years. Here we get a dubbed and filtered warm roller, peaks and troughs flowing through the track as it develops. We've been huge fans of Tommy here at 3am for some time, so it's a pleasure to get him onboard.

Heading back to 3am is Fletcher (aka RJ Fletcher from back in 2011) whose recent solo work on Tactics has been receiving rave reviews, alongside cohort Alex Brown in their guise Adventures In Daydreams. The guys are split between Berlin and Manchester, so their In The City track fuses the influences of both; synth-led vibes with a minimal hint, but with a warmth running through the track which echoes the Northern deep house of the 90s & 00s. No wonder their last release was via the mighty 2020 Vision...

3am's boss-man Al Bradley teams up with long-time collaborator Carlo Gambino for a very special track on the label; A Nod To Roberto is a dubby cut in honour of Roberto Gambino, Carlo's Father who sadly passed away recently. It was his influence working with artists such as The Specials & Prince which led Carlo into the world of music. Here Al & Carlo head for a dubby cut with deep horns, and a little nod to Two Tone Records; a tip of the cap to Roberto, as the title explains. It's a real pleasure to bring this out via 3am, as Carlo has always been an integral part of the 3am family.

Finally we go into leftfield territory; originally out digitally via Manuscript a little while ago, Alixander III and his trippy freaky The Ritz has been a firm favourite in sets that 3am boss Al has played ever since release, and always felt that it would sound amazing on wax. So with big thanks to Vincent Inc at Manuscript, the wish has come true. A genuinely mad bleepy, freaky & trippy outing, which has a sparse drum pattern & no heavy kick, this is one for creating a bridge between vibes. Or you can just play it & watch people go mental, it's up to you! Your ordinary house track, this is not.
