Following the launch of his limited multi edition FORMAT project in February, Trevor Jackson releases a collected triple LP edition via The Vinyl Factory on the 18 May featuring 13 tracks including an exclusive bonus cut not available on any of the initial releases.

FORMAT is the first album from Trevor Jackson since his acclaimed Playgroup album back in 2001. His Output Recordings label (1996-2006) introduced the world to the likes of Four Tet & LCD Soundsystem, His recent Metal Dance compilations reinvigorated interest in early industrial and experimental electronic dance music that's clearly had a powerful influence on much of today's leftfield club music.

FORMAT's initial limited edition release in February consisted of 12 separate physical releases each featuring a different track, available on 12', 10' & 7' vinyl cd, mini CD, cassette, USB, VHS, minidisc, DAT, 8 track + Reel to Reel this was no ordinary release - it charted the legacy of the physical music format, in a characteristically beautiful and uncompromising way. An accompanying installation at The Vinyl Factory space at Brewer Street Car Park in London offered people the opportunity to listen to the album as a unique audio-visual experience.

Curated from an archive of over 150 tracks Trevor had built up over the past 2 decades, the inspiration for Jackson's music, has come from 'the times and places where genres weren't quite formed.' While his synth and beatbox workouts might touch on proto-house, on new wave, on Italo and techno, on ambient and psychedelia, they are at the same time none of these things.

The excellent Apparel label returns with a new reworking of the superb single 'Spread Love' from much lauded Turkish producer Sarp Yilmaz... Apparel Music has been releasing quality electronic sounds since 2009, focusing on it's own unique 'Jazzy' style that incorporates house, techno, electronica and more. Releases from label boss Kisk alongside producers such as Lopazz, Gavin Herlihy & Echonomist have helped make Apparel a highly respected label and a 'go to' for quality music. Istanbul based producer Sarp Yilmaz has been around for a few years now, but it's with his recent output, including his album for Apparel this year, that he has been gaining serious attention. Support from the likes of Maya Jane Coles, who played his music on Pete Tong's show and Osunlade, who described him as the 'best new artist around' in his Guardian interview, go to show that Yilmaz's time is very much now. 'Spread Love' featured on Yilmaz's recent album 'As If I Care' and was one of the highlights of the LP. Here it appears as a reworked version for this exclusive one-sided 12 release. The track is a superbly deep and warm slice of underground house that perfectly marries electronic elements with a subtle musicality. Rich keys and rolling bass join with the organic sounding percussion to create the perfect base for the atmospheric vocals, pure quality! There may only be one track on offer here, but it truly if something special and will no doubt further cement the reputation of Sarp Yilmaz and the excellent Apparel Music. words/ Julian Shay

Last year's album Couldn't See Too Clear For Edges' by The Marx Trukker stood proud as the Pluie/Noir's first Artist album. Despite being the imprint's one-and-only release in 2014,
it was without a doubt it's most introspective and musically refined output to date.
Pluie/Noir's curatorial decisions seem to consistently circle around a vast array of musical experimentation with command of a very personal (albeit peculiar) vision of futuristic dance
music. There's only a few number of ever-changing, self-upgrading chameleons in the music scene who seem to constantly give their best to stay updated, or even ahead of their
own time. Fumiya Tanaka is one of the world's best examples of this morphing behavior .
Not only is he the Japanese reference to skillful dj'ing with decades of fine music making and ownership of the first independent record music label in Japan (Torema), he's also one of the world's finest heroes of techno music. He has succeeded in keeping us engaged since the 90's, showing us all his skills from mental, fast-paced techno to his nowadays staggeringly
minimalistic approach to dance music.
Fumiya Tanaka's double-tracker Beautiful Town' was fully inspired by it's cover artwork:
a set of carefully selected old pictures with a layer of masterful signature paintings by Romanian artist and fine-arts student Bonjour Bonsoir . A-side's Abacus Avenue' is the
EP's most dense and eerie side. An addictive piece that utterly succeeds in sucking you right in like a vortex would. The locomotive bassline serves it's purpose of movement in a strong
loopy groove, while the pads and poltergeist'y sounds reformat our heads with an inability for space-time tracking. The otherside of this town, Himegami Marathon', is another mys-
teriously intricate work. It's a microcosm of grooves, sinister details and voices locked in a tight groove built on a single bass stab and a flowing, never-ending set of wet claps. A piano
kicks in at key points, alongside percussive elements, reminding us that this town is alive. As standard for Pluie/Noir, fully colored artwork cover and limited pressing.

Keep your eyes peeled for Warm Tapes Adjustment the new project that took place between Detroit and Berlin. The two sides of the same coin bring the name of Gari Romalis and SCM. Four tracks ranging from well know Gari's House imprint to hyped tunes performed and cutted by the emergent Berlin producer.

Starting things off on a analog journey with Innerspace' we move through an
interstellar universe with detailed grooves full of percussive splatters and echoing synths
that moves us into a dream like state of mind.
Conjuring the jazz planet in Berlin with Katzbachjazz'you are immediately transported
to a galaxy of sound with galloping percussion and a classic techno layout. Using more 909
techno drum elements she creates a whirlwind of sound with a delicate touch.
Taking things a little bit deeper with Cosmic Karma' she presents a heavily detailed
drum structure full of violin experimentation that creates a dark atmosphere but still
bringing an uplifting and joyous vibe.
Finishing off the package is something unique from Fred P who Julie asked to remix for
her due to her enormous respect for him. The emotionally charged remix of Cosmic
Karma' shows a different side of Fred P while still keeping his signature sound in tact.
The remix takes us through an ever-evolving voyage through time and space.
