Enzo Siragusa and Alexkid's Kilimanjaro project first appeared on FUSE London in late 2013 and offered a refreshing exploration of house music informed by jungle's production style. This Summer the duo are set to reunite as they continue to join the dots between House and Jungle with the 'Kilimanjaro Sound EP', the latest installment of their much-hyped project.
'Kilimanjaro 2' is a remarkably simplistic yet brutally effective opener, which kicks the EP off in fine style, effortlessly fusing elements of house and jungle together. Trademark crisp jungle drums underpin an off kilter house beat while vocal wails and a pulsating jungle reese bassline shakes the track to its core.
On 'Kilimanjaro 3', while the deadly deep bass remains, the track develops along a techier-tangent. Enzo and Alexkid strip everything back to its ferocious bare bones with an engrossing four to the floor beat complemented by mechanical swirls of sound and yet more bone-shuddering bass and is exclusively available on vinyl only.
'Kilimanjaro 4' follows on another 4/4 trajectory but this time a 'hold it, now wait' Hip-Hop sample takes center stage. Supplemented by rich atmospherics and recurring blasts of bass 'Kilimanjaro 4' is another killer track made with superior standards of production quality.
On the 'Kilimanjaro Sound EP' it is clear that Enzo Siragusa and Alexkid have found a winning formula as they expertly fuse together the unmistakable guttural physicality of jungle with more delicate house sensibilities. ZamZam 95 is a link with the enigmatic French producer Hiss Is Bliss. We’ve been fans since the very first drop on their 777Hz label and these two sides drive straight to the heart of the dub techno galaxy.

Little is known about Hiss Is Bliss beyond the fact that they hail from France, are steeped in esotericism, and create tunes as masterfully grounded in roots reggae as they are in techno and related strands of electronic music. Their releases are utterly free of hype, beautifully crafted 10” vinyl plates that let the singers and tracks speak for themselves.

At the risk of being cheeky, “Nope” is absolute dub techno bliss. The 808 kick propels the track relentlessly forward, saturated washes of color streak the night sky, while syncopated hi hats and warm, soulful chords bring life- dare we say funk- to a style too often stiff and clinical, too in thrall to the past to truly step forward. Matching Hiss is Bliss in mystery, Ras Lys’ vocal brings a Dread perspective on music and the sometimes shady business of music, a grounded contrast to the deep inner space explored by the tune itself. The B-side version “Abbadia” splits musical atoms through the desk, focusing squarely on the stripped 4/4 elements and gloriously distorted pads that echo and cycle like tides in a darkly shimmering sea.

For the fourth EP of the parisian vinyl only label, nifo invited back Corsican talent & Jazz enjoyer, Ionescu. This EP is full of collaborations, with friends and talented musicians, such as Sylvain Le Provost & Sabine Tavenard who helped for the jazzy cut in A1. Shuffle Social Club. In the EP you'll find a lot of variation of styles, from electronic to Jazz, from Breakbeat to House, get lost in the imagination of Ionescu and enjoy the trip.

Juan Sanchez delivers his first single on the raw sounding Drumcode Limited with two monster sounding tracks.

Both tracks represent the gritty, tough side of the Drumcode spectrum and deliver two peak time tracks that will finish a dancefloor off. Using filtering hats, low end rumbles and outlandish beeps, Juan Sanchez encapsulates the sound of Drumcode Limited.

A1 Kenzo is the opening track of this energetic EP which is stitched with warm percussive sounds, warped samples and a bouncing rolling kick and bass.


B1 Diod takes a more grittier and more distorted tone, accompanied by another rolling bassline. A dance floor lifter, that has a warm feel of atmospheric sounds.


B2 Ratty puls takes on a more scatty beat with a more distorted sounds, its been carefully woven through a trippy mid range which moves with the vocal samples.

The three releases Traffic Jam, Vital Expansion and Crystal Cave totally reflect Iuly's style - cutting, hypnotic, percussive. All the three tracks are perfectly suited for the dancefloor and for DJ sets. Iuliy's talent and attention to detail shine through in the melodic part, a great complement to these three bangers.

Closing the project is Nobodi with a remix of Traffic Jam. Delicate and respectful of the original track, it increases, as much as possible, the dancefloor orientation of the record with a killer bass line.

Based in Amsterdam - Transvorm is an outfit run by Dutch artists El Mundo and Mulder. The aim of the project is simple: to touch on myriad shades of dance music while keeping things firmly rooted in the principles of timeless House & Techno.

The first release comes courtesy of Mulder himself and evinces this core principle as the title track 'Burnin' brings together 80s synths, syncopated drums and an earworm vocal. 'Move Away' also works from a class House rubric with its Jazz-tinged chords, dusty drum work and vocal snips.

Some vintage strings bleed in to kick off a second phase of the track before an esteemed member of the French House elite - Franck Roger - brings things to a close. Shades of dub and a raw, punchy groove are rendered to a crisp finish as the first chapter in an enlivening new project is brought to a close.

Australia label Maru returns, this time with “Middle Way Ep” by Octave including remixes by friends Pattern Tusk and mtps. On this Ep, each original complete each other, creating a warm cosmic atmosphere while the remixes maintain their texture taking you further on your journey.
