Here's something to set the pulse racing: a collaborative debut album (on Sound Signature, no less) from London broken beat veterans Dego and Kaidi Tatham. As with their previous joint releases on 2000 Black, Rush Hour, Eglo and, of course, Sound Signature, it's the duo's love of rich, jazz-fuelled musicality, sun-kissed melodies and loose, languid rhythms that shines through. There are naturally nods towards disco, boogie, jazz-funk, Afrobeat, hip-hop and classic "bruk", with a stellar cast list of guest musicians and vocalists swinging by to lend a hand. If Herbie Hancock decamped to Ladbroke Grove and made an album with Bugz In The Attic, it would probably sound like this. In our book, that's a very good thing indeed.

A misty glow flows along the recumbent silhouette of Kayla Guthrie's new ep, FALLING STAR. This is the body of the artist as aural ghost, her figure lit by shuddering rhythms and synthesized echoes, and she knows what she is doing when she stands in front of that light. Not only did she build it but she has written all about it, gathered the notes and transcribed the lyrics onto paper that is as sunshine. Guthrie is dazed and dazzling with so much light, yet the clouds roll in toward the light every time. Her translucent voice lifts your hem and so tender is her bite, so weird, so intense. Raw formed during the summer of 1990 in Athens, Greece when keyboardist Giannis Papaioannou and percussionist Makis Faros started composing music for imaginary waiting rooms. They combined the traditional cut-up technique of tape-loops, the industrial timbres of musique concrète with the harmonics of world music, all filtered through digital sampling and computer programming. Their first recordings generated an 8 track demo, which was freely distributed among friends and the local underground press. After 6 months of work and several sessions with guest musicians on acoustic and electric instruments, Raw self-released their first album 'Land' in December 1991 on Elfish Records. In 1992 they recruited the band's sound engineer, Coti K., as a third member, both on stage and studio sessions. 'City' was their second album fully inspired by the mechanisms of their home town. Presenting a different electronic face of Raw, manipulating rhythms with analogue synthesizers and harsh sampling to evoke the atmosphere of Athens. 'City' was released on CD only by Elfish Records in 1994. 'Fragments' is a collection of 4 songs from 'City' presented on vinyl for the first time plus bonus track recorded during the 'City' sessions previously released on a compilation in 1992. All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each copy includes a double sided postcard with photos and notes.

It was way back in 2007 when Claremont 56 boss Paul Mudd'
Murphy and longtime friend Ben Smith made their debut on the then freshly-minted imprint. In the years since, they've delivered a string of luscious and atmospheric releases for the imprint, including three high quality albums.
It's perhaps ftting, then, that the duo returns to mark the start of
Claremont 56's second decade. Amazingly, Janet 50' not only
contains their frst new material since the release of 2016 album
Gorthleck, but is also the pair's frst single for six years.
Janet 50' is classic Smith and Mudd, a rich, heady and gently
unfurling instrumental rich in relaxed instrumentation, leisurely grooves and spacey, far-sighted synthesizer motifs. The track is underpinned by a shuffing groove high on hand percussion and toasty bass guitar, but it's Smith's cascading guitar lines and Murphy's fuid electric piano parts that catch the ear.
There's something of a treat on the fipside, where Versatile Records veteran Nicholas Chaix dons his now familiar I:Cube alias to provide a stunning remix. Over the years, the Chateau Flight member has earned a reputation for delivering high quality material that touches on a variety of styles, from blissful ambient and jacking house, to off-kilter jazz, Giallo-style horror soundtracks and pitched-down Yorkshire bleep
and bass.
His take on Janet 50' is, if anything, even dreamier than Smith and Murphy's original, smothering a low-slung, bass-heavy electronic groove in intergalactic chords, delay-laden congas, occasional acid lines and reverb-heavy passages of guitar and electric piano. It feels like a future classic in waiting.

For Subapical03 we present you the label debut of The 15 Dead Minutes. The 15 Dead Minutes is a collaboration between David Froud (Heuristic Audio) and David Campbell (Delinquent Dialect). Here they blur the lines between electro, techno and industrial with 4 screaming cuts, cutting between hostility, brutalism and mournfulness. Artwork by Yamako King, limited to 300 copies.

XGLARE (all caps), is Jessee Egan, a Brooklyn-based producer, sound designer and multimedia artist. She has released music under multiple aliases since 2011, most notably on AY Japan. Her latest incarnation, XGLARE, balances warped sound design, unearthly atmospheres and experimental rhythms that reject genre boundaries.

Representing Brooklyn in full force on the debut record, 'Morph EP,' XGLARE yields incredibly heavy atmospheres. This is a mature record showing patience, design and a thoughtfulness sorely lacking in much of the electronic music scene. Beats and dance elements take center stage alongside impossibly powerful, almost elemental transitions. Track 1, Lymph sets the tone with an updated halcyon rave sound. Imagine standing in a field in the countryside at an illegal rave at 6 in the morning as the sun is rising, wind blowing in the air. Track 2 Fossa feat ARIADNE, an Opera trained singer, immediately submits you to whisper shouting, a highlight of the album. In between more dance floor-oriented tracks, Spore and Plexus, sit two sound design gems, title track Morph with its pounding rhythmic charges and vast reverberated rooms, and Ganglia, which reminds of early Do You Know-era Squarepusher. A well-rounded EP showing off the many talents of XGLARE also comes housed in beautiful artwork designed by Egan herself.

Begun as a one-off collaboration in 2009, the trio of Keiji Haino, Jim O'Rourke and Oren Ambarchi has now become a solid working group, refining its craft through a series of annual concerts at Tokyo's legendary SuperDeluxe.  Much of their recorded work has focused on their intense, ritualistic take on the rock power trio of electric guitar, bass and drums, with last year's 'now while it's still warm let us pour in all the mystery' (BT09) containing a series of instant compositions of stunning power and concision that demonstrated how familiar and attuned to one another the three have become.

Presenting the entire first set of the trio's March 2013 concert at SuperDeluxe (the second set will follow on Black Truffle later this year), 'only   wanting to melt   beautifully away is it a lack   of contentment  that stirs affection   for those   things  said to be as of yet unseen', their fifth release,  blows the instrumental palette wide open for a single continuous piece focused on acoustic strings, synth, flute and percussion. Featuring one of Haino's most delicate and moving recorded vocal performances, the opening section of the record takes the form of a spare duet between O'Rourke's 12-string acoustic guitar and Haino's kantele (a Finnish variant of the dulcimer), behind which Ambarchi provides a hovering backdrop of wine glass tones. While on previous releases the listener has often sensed that Haino was firmly in the driver's seat, here O'Rourke takes centre stage with an acoustic guitar performance that takes the lyricism of John Abercrombie or Ralph Towner and refracts it through the free improvisation tradition of his mentors Derek Bailey and Henry Kaiser. The atmosphere of meditative, abstracted song is reminiscent of some of Haino's greatest recordings, such as the legendary 'Live In The First Year Of The Heisei' volumes recorded with Kan Mikami.

All you can do with Mars89's mesh of gutter sonics is pick out the landmarks you recognise: 'oh yeah that's kinda drill, mmmm gqom, oooo Night Slugs' but like the best hallucinations you just shut your eyes and ride it.End of The Deathsounds like it comes from no place in particular.

Slotting way outside of the current batch of hard-to-describe club music that we're all struggling with, End of The Deathis the Tokyo native's third release, his 2nd for Bokeh (after 2017's Lucid DreamEP) and his first official appearance on wax (after a run of 30 'Biological Tides'/'Poltergeist' dubplates). Bokeh pays full respect to Mars89's futuristic intent with a bad acid Akira sleeve airbrushed by Patrick Savile and a limited VR headset edition - accompanied by a 360° video environment by Seth de Silva.

Bokeh Edwards and Mars89 met at the Bokeh Versions x Diskotopia night in Tangram hairdressers, Tokyo (sponsored by Pioneer) in October 2016. He's a crucial member of the Tokyo's Chopstick Killahz, a self-described "Post Tribal DJ Unit" lurking on the fringes of the city's grime scene. Mars89's self released his debut EP East End Chaos in 2016 on a limited run of zines. He's also recently composed music for Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo 2017A/W and started a residency at Bristol's Noods Radio to highlight DJ and production talent elsewhere in Asia.

Rene LaVice's journey continues with his third LP on formative drum & bass imprint Ram Records, a label whose history spans across two decades. After being exclusively signed, following his pivotal 'Headlock' release, the Canadian stalwart has remained a centrepiece of Ram's roster and his back catalogue is nothing short of groundbreaking. The same consistency has been administered to his forthcoming 'Far From Perfect' package, which builds on the foundations of both 'Insidious' and 'Play with Fire' to present another look into his versatile capabilities. It proves that alongside a plethora of taste-making records and the announcement of his BBC Radio 1 residency, Rene's career has flourished, due to the creativity which streams through his music.
Having already teased 'Far from Perfect' through the high octane 'Cold Crush' ft. Gydra, his epic vocal slammer 'Let you Go' ft. Jareth, the emotive allure of Faye on 'Twilight' as well as the heavier hitting breakdowns of singles 'Woohoo', 'Sound Barrier / Squeegee' and 'How Do I Kill', his forthcoming album is once again set to defy expectations; Expectations which were already set dizzyingly high.
Still unheard is Rene's second offering with Ivy Mairi 'Every Time', reminiscent of their previous collaboration 'The Calling' which saw them receive daytime airplay through Radio 1's A list. Isaac Evans also joins the list of vocalists alongside Rene on 'Can't Get Enough', with its subdued party vibe and familiar undertones. Tracks like 'Slappo' and 'Detonate' add a harder edge and together they encompass the vast musical spectrum Rene has at his fingertips.
From newcomer to genre icon, Rene LaVice has risen through the ranks and this is unsurprising after studying his back catalogue. And 'Far From Perfect' will add to this legacy, whilst also becoming a defining moment within Ram Records' history.

Sven Weisemann is set to release his 'Bilateral Relations' EP via Copenhagen's Echocord this September, comprising four originals from the German producer.
Sven Weisemann has been immersed in the underground House and Techno scene for quite some time now having started DJing in 1997 during the rise of the scene on his home turf of Berlin and going on to release material via the likes of Amsterdam's Delsin, Mojuba, Telrae and liebe.detail amongst many more.
Here though we see Sven joining the roster of Echocord, a perfect fit for his more dubbed out compositions with artists like Fluxion, Rod Modell and STL on the roster.
'Lunation' opens the release and sees Weisemann fuse emotive string melodies and cavernous vocal echoes with off- kilter rhythms and rounded sub hits before title-track 'Bilateral Relations' embraces a more direct four-four approach via sparse percussion and tumbling toms alongside choppy bass stabs and ever-unfolding, echoing dub chords.
Opening the flip is 'Monistic', an airy ethereal number employing billowing pads, bright synth chimes and a dropped tempo dubbed out feel to create something truly stunning and thought provoking before the 'Decimation (Valvle tR9 Mix) closes things on a darker tip with looming stab swells, heavily swung drums and sporadic growling bass drones.

Over the past two decades the storied, L.A.-based producer has made his presence felt both by stealth and frequency. From his earliest work on LA's Cytrax thru his pivotal role on early Tropic
of Cancer releases and as recording and visual artist with Sandwell District, then later as the go-to-guy for fusions of post-punk, industrial, EBM and techno with DJ sets and releases as Silent Servant, Juan Mendez's myriad efforts have inarguably exerted an enormous influence over contemporary techno and dark electronics.
With his sophomore album Silent Servant presents an affirmation of his prowess with properly physical effect, wielding some of the most strapping arps, possessed vox and moody pads in his
catalogue. In contrast with 'Negative Fascination', its influential predecessor, the seven tracks of 'Shadows of Death and Desire' are defined by a toothier drive and bite, moving with shark-like
momentum thru ruggedest club functions while allowing little room for anything like beat-less reflection or downtime.
Locking in with 'Illusion', he pursues singular, writhing permutations of EBM, industrial and post punk moods; taking in slathering highlights with the agitated bruxism of 'Harm In Hand' and the rotor-jawed syncopation of 'Damage', along with the trampling drone-dirge of 'Loss Response', and the needling panic attack dynamic of '24 Hours', before drifting off centre with the glorious, swingeing torque of 'Glass Veil', and a swooning goth finale in 'Optimistic Decay' which sees mendez reunite with longtime collaborator and vocalist Camella Lobo.

The heritage of this series speaks volumes, and 'Sick Music 2018' takes the quality to a whole new level. Filled to the brim with dangerous dubplates this full spectrum injection is a must have for each and every D+B devotee.
Hospital's leading dancefloor duke Danny Byrd has taken things straight back to '99 with 'Devil's Drop'. Firing on all cylinders he's keeping it raw, rolling and funky. In a similarly devilish fashion we have 'Bootstrap Bill' finally unleashed by the enigmatic Unglued. Unashamedly destructive and executed with precision, this track is more dangerous than Donald Trump drunk on Twitter.
In a perfect fusion of Hospital and Med School, we see Fred V & Grafix's 'Hurricanes (Wild Love)' re-worked with pristine precision by everyone's favourite prodigy Keeno. Keeping the vibe level at eleven, Hugh Hardie's delivered the gorgeous 'Nightingale', both seductively simple and oozing with elegance.
'Just One Second' by London Elektricity gets its first re-work since the late Apex's famous remix on the very first Sick Music. The beautiful track see's a sterling contemporary edit and is a testament to Mitekiss' talent.
This album also brings the first solo single from the biggest name in D+B right now, Kings Of The Rollers. Fiercely pushing into new territory 'Burnt Ends' has been causing carnage on the dancefloor, getting double wheel-ups from across the globe.
Joining this rich tapestry of exemplary D+B are both veteran composers and new blood alike including: Klute, Whiney, Urbandawn, Reso, Logistics, John B, and of course Hospital Records' commander-in-chief London Elektricity.

Victrola is the duo of Antonio "Eze" Cuscinà and Carlo Smeriglio from Messina, Italy. The band formed in 1979 but shortly thereafter relocated to Florence take part in a rich musical scene alongside Neon, Pankow, Alexander Robotnick, and Diaframma. Beginning as a 4-piece (two guitarists, bassist, drummer) they slimmed down to a synthesizer and guitar-based duo by 1982. Their sole release was the now classic 'Maritime Tatami"/"A Game Of Despair" EP from 1983, which we reissued in 2012.

'Born From The Water' is a 12 song collection of unreleased demos recorded between 1983 and 1985. The band sent us over 100 cassettes, through which we dug to compile the first volume of their archival darkwave ballads. They used an array of Roland synthesizers (TR-606, TB-303, TR-909, Juno 6) plus a Korg Polysix, Yamaha DX7, Casio VL-Tone VL-1, DR-55 Dr. Rhythm, and Fender Stratocaster and Jazz Bass. Some of the songs would later appear on various compilations, but the versions presented here are unique. Victrola engulfs the listener with trance-inducing synth lines, oblique minor-key bass lines, angular guitar riffs, and melancholic vocals. The songs tell tales of youth, love, karma, and the decline of civilization in modern times. Each song has been carefully remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The records come housed in a jacket designed by Eloise Leigh, which uses motifs from the band's sole release and includes an insert with liner notes and photos.

Mannequin Records presents a trilogy of reissues from the avantgarde Italian-born producer Doris Norton, "Nortoncomputerforpeace" (1983, originally released by Durium Records), "Personal Computer" (1984), "Artificial Intellingence" (1985).

Apple's first music "endorsement" and Roland affiliate, Doris Norton is one of the most important women pioneer in the use of synths and in the early electro / computer music. Norton is the wife of Antonio Bartoccetti, progressive rock guitarist, and mother of the musician and techno producer Rexanthony. As a teenager, she was drawn to medieval, Renaissance and Baroque music, not to mention quantum physics, differential equations, organic chemistry, the experimentalism of John Cage and animated movie soundtracks. Her love for modules and circuits found expression through the waves of an old harmonium, the frequencies of a Minimoog, a Roland System 100M, a Roland System 700 and the ARP 2500/2600.

In 1980, Norton began her solo career by recording at Fontana Studio 7, the Milan studio of the composer and musician Tito Fontana, resulting in the electronic opera "Under Ground". Norton became more prolific, continuing her adventures in experimental electronics and computer music with Parapsycho (1981), Raptus (1981), Nortoncomputerforpeace (1983), PC (1984) - whose album cover prominently features Apple's colored logo - and Artificial Intelligence (1985).

The first phase of K. Leimer's recorded work began in 1972 with the production of the Grey Cows cassette and culminated in 1983 with the release of Imposed Order. Though work seemingly stopped following the release of I/O, Leimer continued to record and experiment with sound during what proved to be a 15-year interegnum for his Palace of Lights label. That work, never before issued, is included in this expanded remaster. If Osiris' recent releases have represented a rope that bridges the chasm that exists between various bass-heavy electronic sub-genres, this compilation of brand new material might just be the bricks-and-mortar upgrade to that bridge that marries them all into one cohesive vision. Proceedings kick off with Overlook's menacing take on Jungle — almost eight minutes of sustained preternatural tension in the shape of 'Former Self '.

Pessimist continues the journey with the sprawling 'Indigo', and moves away from his trademark pace to set the scene with repetitive, delayed stabs in the dark. Three tracks in, label boss Simon Shreeve steps into the ring, in his first outing as Mønic this year, to unveil the appropriately titled 'Stampede' — a marching, ferocious melding of industrial beats and distorted growl, pushed along by frenetic hi-hats before spiralling off the edge into a feedback-laden pit.

To close, Mønic teams up with Grebenstein. Picture the former's take on sepulchral atmospherics, married with the latter's mangled electronics, and you'll have a good indication of what to expect from this meeting of minds. 'Cutting The Ties That Bind' sees those hats return in the distance, but slows the pace for a largely ambient conclusion to this unique blends of musical ideas.

The birth of Ancestral Voices represents a new path for an established and highly respected producer. Liam Blackburn carved out a singular musical voice as Indigo, and also more recently as half of acclaimed duo Akkord. Inevitably a new approach to creating music has developed into a new identity:

Stripping back an already unique creative process proved a challenge that has paid off, and Blackburn's evolving sound has no immediate sonic comparison. With distinct resonances of his musical heritage flowing through a more mature filter, there is a mystical atmosphere that resounds through the LP as you hear Ancestral Voices emerge triumphantly into the world. Whether it's the half-time, two stepping 'Move it Along' or the pulsing, snarling undertones of 'Thud', you're blessed with a barrage full of fresh sonic assaults. Featuring artists, such as drum & bass heavyweight Prolix, also take center stage. Their collaboration 'Creatures', alongside the revered lyricist Nuklear MC, adds a welcomed surprise. Introducing Outlook Recordings - a brand new record label, fresh from the team behind seminal sound system celebration, Outlook Festival, championing the sounds that have garnered the festival the reputation that it deserves. The first release on Outlook Recordings imprint embodies the sound of the festival, bringing in producer Icicle and Levelz affiliate Skittles to provide a killer d'n'b fuelled, bass-laced three track EP.

Kicking off with collab from inimitable duo, Icicle and Skittles, leading title track 'EVERYBODY RIOT' starts with a slow build up combined with a tempo changing flow. With Skittles rapping over sparse breaks, it's a stone cold fusion of MCR energy, d'n'b breaks and jungle vibes. Icicle takes things things up a notch on the flip - B1's 'REMEMBER ME' is a purely instrumental, slightly industrial, DnB weapon - with a second drop that's well worth the wait. Rounding out the EP on a deeper, darker tip with B2 'My HEART'S A LEMON', the enigmatic, intriguing and eloquent production rises to majesty upon a melodic build-up which quickly descends into a hefty drop. Repping again for Manchester, Skittles spitting razor-sharp bars layers hi-octane, ice cold energy over old skool elements. Marking Outlook Recording's first foray into releases, the EP traverses through dubstep, DnB and jungle in true Icicle form - a nod to hazy days and raucous nights in the holds of Fort Punta Christo.

Bomb the Bass' second album Unknown Territory was a venture into the progressive dance music. 'Winter in July' was the album's single hit, peaking at number 7 in the UK charts. The midtempo hip-hop was later being dubbed as trip-hop. Music writer Simon Reynolds searched for a way to 'combine the art of sampling with the energy of rock and roll.' This combination worked out pretty well and the ten songs shows how they developed to a band who integrated different aspects from electronic music in their hip-hop sounds.

Bomb The Bass were one of the first acts to bring sample-based music and scratching to a mainstream audience.

'Variants.1+2' is the first 2LP to be released in a series presenting a collection of disparate pieces of music from past and current works. It

instrumental version of the Japan B-Side 'The Experience Of Swimming'. In 2017, Richard Barbieri released his most sonically expansive work to date.

'Planets + Persona' is his third solo album, but the first to feature such a wide pallet of instrumentation. Vintage analogue synthesisers combined with

acoustic performances and jazz elements, including some stark and memorable improvisations from a personally hand-picked group of musicians, a release

that has been well received by a dedicated and growing fan base. As an ex-founder of the new-wave pioneers Japan, Barbieri was a leader in

creating the ground-breaking synthesiser sound that defined the band and influenced the likes of The Human League, Duran Duran, Gary Numan, Talk

Talk and a whole raft of artists to follow. Together, the band recorded five studio albums culminating in the ground-breaking 'Tin Drum', which stayed in

the UK Albums Chart for a year. Following Japan, Barbieri joined Steven Wilson in the formative years of the legendary progressive outfit Porcupine Tree, playing keyboards on all the

band's albums since 1993 as well as releasing two striking solo albums: 'Things Buried' and 'Stranger Inside'. His ear for composing unique soundscapes and synth textures recently led

to collaborations with other talented composers, such as Steve Hogarth (Marillion) Steve Jansen & Mick Karn (Japan) and Steven Wilson.

Parisian veteran Dj Deep and Romain Poncet (well known for his Traumer allias) released their first Sergie Rezza album on Desire records in 2015, the album received heavy support from Dixon, Laurent Garnier, Hunee, Antal to name a few. They now decided to start Sergie Rezza's own imprint. Sergie Rezza's sound is heavilly influenced by Ambient, Electronica, Dub, Jazz, Industrial, Funk, and also Techno and House roots. This is the second release on their newly created imprint.

One year after Michigan-based artist Zach Saginaw released his third album as Shigeto, a genre-blending Detroit love letter called The New Monday, he returns with another eclectic display of affection for the musical community that makes Motor City music tick. The four new tracks on his Weighted EP, including a sumptuous remix from Detroit house luminary Andrés, continue to rene and augment the patchwork of jazz, hip-hop, and electronics that Shigeto has built his catalog with.

But far be it from Saginaw to repeat himself. Whether it's the heavy, disjointed beats of "Fight Club" or the vibey house roller "The Line Up (feat. Ian Fink)," Weighted drops as many low-key surprises as it does smokey grooves. A track as blown-out and deceptively simple as "Ooh Ooh" might at rst feel like an anomaly coming from Shigeto—once the cacophonous production settles in, however, it clearly bears the mark of a master producer exing new muscles. And that's true of Weighted as a whole. Saginaw is pushing his music into fresh spaces, forming imaginative shapes while keeping his focus on the city and culture that so deeply inspires him.

This Ravers favourite has never been reissued on vinyl in its original 4 track form. it did make it to a White House Classics series but only Baptised By Dub and not the greatest quality.According to DJ Spatts the DAT's were misplaced in the 90's and only unearthed again in 2014 when I searched the Warehouse. All CD licensed versions on compilations are allegedly a vinyl rip supplied by White House. These official DIGITAL remasters were issued to TCM Records as digital only. This is your first chance to get your hands on what will definitely be the best vinyl reproduction of this music since it's original release in 1992.

Alex Troubetzkoy releases for the first time on his own label, with 3 personal tracks. Still picking on his jazz influences, while keeping texture and sound quality as a priority, the music we are dicovering is full of personality. Denis Kaznacheev joins him for the remix.

As the darkest month of the year draws upon the northern hemisphere, bbbbbb records introduces another Icelandic artist; the elusive electro producer Kuldaboli. With roots in hardcore-punk, metal-core and heavy-metal, Kuldaboli's electro bangers are as dark and grimy as they come. 'Ancient civilisations, 20th century history, the possibility of the existence of other dimensions along with the unbearable emptiness of human existence' are amongst the most prominent subjects of Kuldaboli's creations.
'Ég elska þig eilífa stríð' consists of five hypnotic tracks, some of which are overlaid with cryptic texts; ominous poetry recited in Icelandic. Icelandic is a dying language in many ways, only spoken by around 350.000 people and constantly giving in from outwards influences. Who knows, perhaps it will be wiped out all together in the near future. But then again, humanity might not persist for much longer either. Only time will tell.

After the solo album Paths Of The Errant Gaze in 2016 Reinier van Houdt returns to Hallow Ground with Igitur Carbon Copies - an album based on the unfinished gothic tale Igitur, a collection of texts that eventually was abandoned by its author Stéphane Mallarmé in 1869.

Connecting with Mallarmé's obsessions about chance and destiny, Igitur Carbon Copies is the fragmentation of all the roots that ran under its predecessor Paths Of The Errant Gaze and brings these to a provisional close: guided by David Tibet's voice reading the reworked text we descend through spheres of deserted anthems, disembodied voices, morse signals, crank calls, corroded tapes, radio statics, stones, while doing counting games. Here the acoustical spaces are manifold, blended or shifted in a heartbeat, where far and near, up and down are relative, where Riemann's god is pointless and angels are enjoying their space. Here perception is a vice that constantly hallucinates realities.

Reinier van Houdt started experimenting with taperecorders, radio's and objects at a young age. Later he studied piano at the Liszt Academy in Budapest and the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. He developed a fascination for all matters that defy notation: sound, timing, space, physicality, memory, noise, environment - points beyond composition, interpretation and improvisation. He has built himself an unusual repertoire that consistently resulted from personal quests; from composing with non-musical sources, from collaborations with composers and musicians, from research in archives or from unorthodox studies of classical music. He has collaborated with artists like Francisco López, Maria de Alvear, Robert Ashley, Luc Ferrari, Annea Lockwood, Alvin Curran, John Cage, Christian Marclay, Walter Marchetti, Charlemagne Palestine and joined the legendary outsider-collective Current 93 in 2012.

The sound is clearly analogue and very specific since Danny Bosten (DAS DING) rebuilds his vintage synths and builds his own sequencers and modular systems. The album was mastered by Alden Tyrell. Originally released on Montreal's long defunct Intr_version label in 2001, Primordia was Scott Monteith's first foray into the album format, and some 13 years on serves as a remarkable document of the driving aesthetic touchstones which even at this early stage were bubbling to the surface and have gone on to define the sound of his Deadbeat project in the many years since. Over the course of 7 colossal slabs of crackling digital atmospheres and rumbling drone, a dirge of muted kick drums serve as the only steady anchor in a sea of wildly unhinged and naive sound experimentation, with the whole lovely mess plummeting into a endless cloud of decaying echos, granular processing, and cracked software reverb plugins. With it's production coinciding with the first years of his tenure at the Montreal based music software company Applied Acoustics systems, Primordia is the sound of the young dub Padawan reveling in the endless possibilities of modular software synthesis, and relishing each and every new discovery and mistake along the way.

Re-released on CD and for the first on lavish double vinyl with remastering by long time friend and cohort Stefan Betke aka Pole, Primordia is an essential cornerstone in Monteith's now vast catalog, and a must have addition to the collection of any serious dub techno historian.

Josephs Perception's first release on Junglist Records titled Four Elements EP' have been a great success on the label and beyond. Red Now' which held the number one position on the 'Ragga Drum & Bass Chart' for over a month on TrackItDown, was later included on their compilation album 'Trackitdown Top 100 Drum & Bass Tracks of 2016' with the best Drum and Bass selling tunes of 2016 alongside a stellar line-up of artists into the scene like Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Annix, Taxman, Mob Tactics, High Contrast, Break, DJ Aphrodite, Upgrade, Nicky Blackmarket, Voltage, Andy C, Breakage, just to name a few.

Saxophonist, composer and bandleader Nubya Garcia is back with the eagerly awaited next chapter to her musical unfolding, When We Are. Enabled with the support of the prestigious Steve Reid Foundation's InNOVAtion award, and with Eglo records co-founder Sam Shepherd (Floating Points) as her mentor, this self-released EP features two newly recorded compositions from the much-lauded artist. The record also comes with B-side remixes from two generations of London's finest producers, K-15 and Maxwell Owin. Following on from her scorching sophomore release, Nubya's 5ive (jazz:refreshed), When We Are sees the trailblazing player take typically self assured steps into new territory with electronic experimentation. 'I've been inspired a lot by the producers around me at the moment, people like Ben Hayes, Tom Misch, Joe Armon- Jones, Jake Long and Maxwell Owin', said Garcia. 'There's an electronic vibe in there that I wanted to explore more, and this release feels like a positive evolution from the last EP.' Much like the celebrated Brownswood release, We Out Here, where Garcia features on five of the nine tracks, When We Are offers a snapshot of the artist she is today and the organic musical languages she continues to form with her long term collaborators Femi Koleoso, Joe Armon-Jones and Daniel Casimir. The title track opens with the easy cascading of Armon-Jones on keys, Garcia's signature erudite tone dancing against the drummer Koleoso's boxy, afro-tinged hip hop runs; all three riding on Casimir's beautifully subtle, abetting bass. Crisp and clean, the track's sweet inflections are carried into spacious territory by light touch pedal effects. Source comprises of shape-shifting, Tetris-like grooves. It's a characteristically sophisticated sound from the band, where each player is able to shine around the trademark fusion of gospel, soul, broken beat, Afro-Caribbean and Latin styles that Garcia has deftly crafted into her own. Alongside her releases, Garcia's reputation as a DJ is burgeoning, bolstered by her hit radio residencies on platforms including Balamii and NTS, and a growing number of live sets across Europe. The record partly draws on the energy of the club-nights that shaped her formative years. The grime and garage nights in north London, dub nights across the river in south London, and of course, the infamous Steez performance jams that have served as a rite of passage for much of the scene.

The Day are Laura Loeters from Utrecht/Netherlands and Hamburg based Gregor Sonnenberg. Since meeting at 'Hogeschool voor de kunsten' in Arnhem the two keep reconciling distances, differences and always new approaches and perspectives. What runs like a thread through all of this is the interest to take charge of things themselves, try out and grow on it together.

The Day is where whimsical Dream Pop meets a DIY ethos learned from hardcore. A sparse, springy and rapturous dynamic alternates with a wildly imaginative dream-pop harmony, rock and synths create just as inspiring contrasts as the refreshing, reduced postpunk references. This is continued in the songs by themes that connect and contrast the private and the political as often as possible. The Day's music expresses utopia as well as melancholy in its escapism and thus refuses to be interpreted in an overly fixed way. The band is an international long-distance constellation, an almost celebratory pan-European idea of unification (which sadly can't be emphasized too often in recent months).

The Day have released two EPs by themselves, were constantly on the road, supported Kate Tempest live and have formulated their own version of melancholic pop music. Nude is the fourth album by the English pop band Dead or Alive. After the separation from their successful production team Stock-Aiken-Waterman band members Pete Burns and Steve Co took over the control of the ship. They created a respectable release which covers most of their highly attractive and energetic dance, pop and euro-disco music. The big hits of this release were 'Turn Around And Count 2 Ten' and 'Come Home With Me Baby', both an eclectic fusion of electronica beats and danceable rhythms. One thing that makes this album so remarkable is the fact that each song flows into the next and perfectly accompanies the previous one.

Dead or Alive gained success in the mid-1980s and sold over 50 million records worldwide. Founder and vocalist Pete Burns passed away in 2016 and since the band discontinued.

Emotional Rescue is delighted to offer this compilation of music from Elaine Kibaro and her particular coalesce of chanson, folk, balearic and touch of disco, all encased in her strong French and North African roots.

The music included here, released between 1979 to 1989, is an expression of her development, of music changes matching growth in life, conveyed through her emotions in song. Opening with the spoken word Introduction from her debut album, "Mirrors" and the folk rock of melodies of Le Reveil from the 1981 follow up, Au Soleil, her early works are characterised by band, orchestra and choirs complimenting her voice as one.

This is further heard on the mystical Sorciere, psyche percussion of Secret, the marching Le Guerrier and the inclusion her first "hit" with Aurore, appearing her in all it's extended, off-kilter guitar meets organ form.

Exploring sensitivity and desires the compilation matches these earlier folk and world inspired songs with her move towards electronic production that accompanied a return some 4 years later, adding balearic and even pop dance found on 1985's Le Long De Fleuve Amour and the following 1989 opus, in Kiroel.

L'Amour Pour Bouclier and Ne Doute Pas lift her music higher towards lovers' heights, with word, melody, and rhythm giving the desire to dance and be free, while her continuing exploration of chanson and spoken word takes on new meanings via the new wave meets estoric Douleur, while the emotionally charged soundscape of Kiroel brings balance.

Lost Futures is a new label that explores experimental and often radical approaches to dance music from the past. In a musical landscape that increasingly claims to seek and reward new forms and ideas, Lost Futures delves into the recent past to revisit forward-thinking, optimistic projects that, owing to the social, musical or outright political climate, perhaps struggled to find an audience. Allowing only time to re-contextualise these leftfield, sometimes misunderstood and ultimately human bodies of work, Lost Futures taps into the inherent idealism of rave.

LF001 trips back until the early nineties to revisit the alternative scene emerging from the Dutch city of Utrecht. Here, three young men - DJ Zero One (Sander Friedeman), TJ Tape TV (Arno Peeters) and DJ White Delight (Richard van der Giessen) - joined forces to form 'The Awax Foundation'. Inspired by the transcendent and revolutionary electronic music arriving on their shores imported from Chicago and Detroit, combining their knowledge, gear and ever-expanding vinyl collection allowed additional freedom in paying sincere tribute to these intoxicating sounds, while also developing their tastes in a more personal, eclectic direction.

The musical flavours of Awax initially leaned toward acid house and the roots of techno. However, with three different mindsets in the mix, their tastes were rarely fixed. One thing each shared in common was a devotion to collecting rare sounds, specifically more adventurous and international samples than those emanating from the increasingly-hard, masculine dance music emerging from the Netherlands during the period. Inspired by the cross-over global sound of bands like Suns of Arqa, or 'World Music', as it was perhaps patronisingly termed at the time, the trio became interested in the idea of making techno with 'ethnic instruments'.

Of course, this being 1992, none of The Awax Foundation had access to such instruments, instead, they had a vast, collective library of samples from all over the world. There were no collaborations and no clear plan. Instead, they set to work using a Yamaha TX16W sampler, the legendary Atari 1040ST computer, a cheap mixing desk and a couple of low-end synths and FX machines. When Richard mentioned the project to his friend, Akin Fernandez, the London DJ and owner of cult label Irdial Discs, Fernandez was intrigued enough to invite the trio to record a one-hour show for his 'Monster Music Radio' series on London's then-burgeoning Kiss FM.

Forced to come up with a name, 'CultureClash' seemed like the obvious choice, even if the members of Awax were only creatively sparring among themselves. Along with the term 'ethno-techno', slightly dubious to a hopefully more conscious Western audience in 2017, these were the only guiding principles to the quietly ambitious project that soon combined cutting-edge machine rhythms with samples sourced from everywhere from Bolivia to Togo, and inspired by everything from Ravi Shankar's epic soundtrack to the Oscar-winning movie Ghandi, to the technical limits of their own setup requiring a dazzling degree of cut-and-paste work. Some tracks even emerged out of academic studies within the ethnomusicology department at The University of Amsterdam.

The show aired on October 2nd, 1992, recorded in one blistering take and without any rehearsals, traversing a huge variety of tempos and styles. If the performance wasn't seamless, it was undeniably thrilling, fresh and ambitious. As such, several labels, including Fernandez's aforementioned Irdial Discs expressed an interesting in commercially releasing CultureClash, while another imprint proposed a series of twelve-inches and an album. But the sheer complexity of the project meant that it never saw the light of day, while the trio embarked on different journeys ahead, both creative and personal.

Twenty five years later, and the original CultureClash lineup and founding members of The Awax Foundation provide the sound of the first release from Lost Futures. An otherworldly, ambitious and optimistic compilation, accompanied by extensive sleeve notes from the trio, CultureClash is a timeless ode to experimentation in dance music's ever-overlapping culture.

The first reissue release on Ecstatic comes from Italian 'mail-artist' Daniele Ciullini.

Hailing from Florence, Ciullini was part of the forward-thinking TRAX collective, whose pan european art/music collaboration network acted as a proto-social network decades in advance of the internet.

This compilation collects Ciullini's self released 'Domestic Exile' cassette (1983) as well as selections from a series of other compilations(1982 to 1986)

When asked about the title 'Domestic Exile' Ciullini explains: The music in this cassette was born in a very difficult period of my life. A period marked by a rift with the world. 'Domestic Exile' reflects a time of recession, entrenchment within the walls of a tired soul. Most of the songs are improvised on the spot. Listening to the music today I think this aspect was perhaps naive. But I enjoyed realising something very close to my inner state at that moment.

Ciullini's music is as sharp and controlled as his elegant photographic images of decadent marble statues, mannequins and deserted Art-Nouveau architecture.He describes these songs as rapid "sonic polaroids" in which synthetic sketches and "Oriental" keyboard "voices" sit side by side with vigorous electro-industrial rhythm and metronomic modified drum machine pulses.

His music presciently fuses ambient and industrial, as well as echoing the synthetic alienation of 8 bit micromusic, the melodic wave sounds of Young Marble Giants, and even a proto-shoegaze guitar (see Soft Marble, with reciting voice) as well as hints of drone music (the magmatic loops of Bloody Machine

'2 Sim' is a phrase the references mobile phones with two sim cards to describe people of mixed heritage, dual nationality or multiple residence. After being called 2 Sim in conversation with a stranger while on a walk through Freetown (a recording of this moment features on the record) Duval began to explore what the 2 Sim experience is in contemporary West-Africa.

2 Sim EP was created from 2 months of field recordings and interviews with family, friends and peers in Freetown Sierra Leone. These site specific recordings are collaged with solo piano recordings and production recorded in Sierra Leone and the UK. The EP is accompanied by a short film/ music video of the same name which Duval shot and Directed whilst making the record.
