metaphysical playground on its foundations, meshing recordings and lyrics - found and composed between her home in Brittany and Stockholm's EMS facilities - into a finely sculpted and dreamlike web of subtle sensations and hyperstisised fiction.
In the process she brings closer together a wide-range of her artistic practices, incorporating elements of sculpture and painting along with sound installation, multichannel diffusion and live
performance into her ever-expanding sonic vocabulary and grammar. Whether consumed on headphones or loudspeakers, it's clear to hear this sharply honed sound sensitivity come into play as her carefully hushed vocals are bathed in placid yet suspenseful tones and almost imperceptibly underlined by an attention to timbral detail and those infrasonic frequencies normally ignored or blithely unattended by other composers within the ambient field.
In the best way this is a record that is immediate and enduring; transparent yet oblique, riddled with nuance and underlying layers that keener listeners will discover in their own time.

One of Sweden's most prominent artists in the spray painting, Rolfcarlwerner, has created all the artwork for the album. The cover to the original painting was painted directly inspired by the album's sound world and was shown at the exhibition 'Outside in 4.0' at the gallery Erik Axl Sund in Stockholm winter in 2016.

You can trail away with it. It is easy to enter, but hard to drop out. Tolouse Low Trax just needs an MPC, a small Synthesizer set up and some effects to create subliminal hypnotic music trips, driven by dark synthlines and drunken shuffled patterns. The primitiveness in my music is linked to something simple, and that don't have to be obligatory minimal. For me it is enough to dance rough around the core. Music you don't shape till the end contains of a moment of beauty. A veil of secrecy. I work very simply. I rather reduce my possibilities in ompass. Limitations offer lots of liberties.' He reveals about his work ethic. Even if his music sounds darker then any ever experienced night, he mostly produces it in the morning in his highly inspirational studio home. During the dark times of the day Tolouse Low Trax mostly performs live around the globe. Or hangs out in his second home: the Salon Des Amateurs club bar in Dusseldorf, which he once founded and where he held until today two weekly DJ residencies. The moments and atmospheres he inhales during these lightless moments are mirrored in his shadowy music, about which he also confesses: My art is more a cinematic, literally idea of a large to explore Megacity. This is one of the pictures I would link to my music.' On ' part one he now offers five sounding visions about that Megacity'. They listen to mysterious names like Hidden Flat' or Studies in Drama'. They are nervous. They have ephemeral pieces of dub, Industrial, wave or Italian library music. And at times strangealienated voice samples dance within his highly addictive arrangements. Words can't express their magic. But one thing is fore sure: his hypnotic dance-not-dance tracks do not only illuminate so-called freaks!

The 10th Modal Analysis release is the second full EP of the label's co-founder, ANFS. Mass EP demonstrates ANFS unique sound aesthetics, offering tracks to satisfy the most demanding music-heads. Mass#1 is a sadistic composition of distorted percussions and basslines hitting hard in a slow rhythmic groove , while Mass#2 stands closer to the dancefloor thinking norms, without though leaving behind any of the creepiness of Mass#1. On the flip side, Mass#3 brings back the mood of a horror movie soundtrack, with bleepy riffs on the leading sequence. Glyn "Bigga" Bush began his production career with Rockers Hi Fi in the early 90s, co-writing several studio albums, a host of remixes and the infamous DJ Kicks - The Black Album. In 2000 he went solo as both BiggaBush and Lightning Head, making albums for Sonar Kollektiv and Stereo Deluxe as well as many more remixes. His sound reflects his love of dub reggae, analogue synthesisers and intricate rhythms, with influences of samba, afrobeat, the deep dubscapes of Rhythm & Sound and most recently the more interesting end of 140bpm bass music. This EP is his first vinyl release since the late 00s and takes in a number of bass-heavy rumblers with classic BiggaBush twists and turns, starting with the steppas delight of Mangrove Monkey, relentless subs and skanks of Sounds & Blues, post-dubstep breaks on Dash Way Com and finishing with a minimal 4/4 FX soundscape on Footsie Index.

Explanatory Denial is the 7th record by Chicago-based electronic producer Jim Magas under his longtime MAGAS monicker. In the '90s, he fronted unconventional 'no wave'-ish bands Couch and Lake Of Dracula. In the early 2000s, he recorded for material for Ersatz Audio and did a few remixes. In the Twenty-teens, he focused on instrumental productions for his own Midwich imprint and composing music for director Asia Argento's 2014 film, Misunderstood. In early 2017, Magas premiered new material during a U.S. tour in support of band Joan of Arc. The limited-to-200 4-track spring 2017 12" EP Explanatory Denial opens with 'Shipping Container', a rough, minimal stomper, offering plenty of bounce, but no padding or instructions.'New Dawn' opens the door to a brightly-lit and concrete alternate reality. 'Sky Castles' keeps bodies moving while synthesized strings whisper false reassurances of easy days and high pay. 'Indelible Mark' is an atmospheric lo-fi Casio lounge-funk spy groover that smells of Holiday Inn wood-paneling, dripping with Benson & Hedges Ultra-lite 100s. Deploying a variety of primitive electronic techniques, Explanatory Denial is a testament to the power of diligent synth-hunting and decades of basement refinement.

Maxwell Allison records improvised loop-based electronic music under the name Mukqs. 11,666,666,666,666,666,666, his first LP with Chicago imprint Midwich Productions, documents a session of intertwined synth melodies and technoid beat arrangements recorded live and presented without overdubs. Previous tape releases compiling live takes of textured noise and deranged sample manipulation using cassette tapes as sound sources appeared on labels like Phinery, Apothecary Compositions, and Hausu Mountain (co-run by Allison himself and Doug Kaplan). Allison and Kaplan perform with Natalie Chami in Chicago free music trio Good Willsmith, whose abstracted electronic rock jams and space drone ritual performances aim for a state of overloaded chaos. On 11,666,666,666,666,666, Allison sheds the randomized and abrasive aspects of past free-for-all jams and latches into an elastic pulse of syncopated basslines and complex percussion patterns pumped from a minimal hardware rig of drum machine and sampler. The LP evokes the subaquatic atmospheres and evolving analog arrangements of Drexciya, the recursive melodic ecstasy of Terry Riley, and the cyborg tonal juxtapositions of Oneohtrix Point Never. Mukqs's arrangements pit the insistence of a rigid grid against a system of arrhythmic synth samples that intersect with a loose logic all their own. Brittle vocal and flute preset tones clash with chordal clouds of sustain and swelling drones, as a network of hi-hat and snare patterns click a path through the center of the mix. Allison's thick bass bursts dominate the stereo spread, animating grooves and harmonizing in distortion with a web of crisp triangle wave arpeggios. His session stretches from the loping electro thump and siren synth walls of "The Tulpoid Serpent" into the zen bongos and syrupy pads of "Neo-Venezia." "Frog Work" hits a stride of major-key bliss when xylophone cascades blend with sitar tones over a 4/4 stomp, as if soundtracking a Studio Ghibli-core movie of Allison's own invention. "Hashimoto-Appelbaum Syndrome" closes the LP with a palette of juxtaposed textures painted in kinetic rhythms: compounded organ lines mingle with vocaloid chirps and a lattice of pitch-shifted cymbals, as a chopped and screwed flute melody holds down the low end with faux-upright bass. If Mukqs's strict adherence to a live take / no overdubs recording regimen betrays a mentality closer to the noise underground, 11,666,666,666,666,666,666 elevates his stubborn practice to new heights of analog synth arrangement and cosmic density.

The fallen angel. The rebellious soul expelled from the pearly gates and forced to live in hell among mere mortals for eternity. Here they endeavour to condition and corrupt everything around them, a bold middle finger aimed in the direction of its former home in the promised land. Now imagine a soundtrack to this tragic tale. FunkinEven—also known as Steven Julien— has made just that with his debut album Fallen.

Split into two contrasting chapters, Fallen follows the trail of our main character. The first six songs introduce us to utopia, a collection which is matched by the light and airy tones of this initial set. The twist comes right down the middle, where we descend into the project's darker, hellish bogs. Both episodes intertwine seamlessly, and all composed, written and produced by Steven himself.

Julien plays the majority of the instruments you hear on the record, using session musicians — including three appearances from Hercules on bass — sparingly to plug any gaps. All the above choices combine to emit a contagious warmth that blankets the whole record. Within the dozen tracks, he jumps between everything from jazz fusion to techno. It's easily his best work to date.

Steven Julien first surfaced in 2009 with a refreshing sound unlike many of his contemporaries. While his peers flirted with R&B, abstract grime and whatever else, Julien forged his own path, one which partnered an organic, analogue sensibility with the sounds of electro, '80s funk, and acid. Initially affiliated with the Eglo camp, he eventually formed his own label, Apron Records, which has become a reliable outlet in its own right, not only for his own workings, but also as a home base for talents like Seven Davis Jr and Greg Beato. He's also proven to be an avid collaborator over the years, having worked with Fatima, Delroy Edwards, and, most notably, Kyle Hall, with whom he creates the unapologetically raw sounds of FunkinEvil.

This album isn't about "entertainment," it's about transformation, and transformation requires effort on behalf of the aspirant.

These gentlemen are known for their versatility, and their progressive attitudes toward music. Lena Platonos is a Greek musician, pianist and music composer. One of the pioneers of Greek electronic music, she remains active today. Lena was born in Heraklion, Crete, and grew up in Athens. She began learning how to play the piano at the age of two and became a professional pianist before turning eighteen. Soon afterwards, she received a scholarship to study in the the Berlin and Vienna Academies , where she was exposed to jazz, rock and Middle Eastern music. She returned to Greece in the late 70's and began working with the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation. Released in 1984, 'se ' ('Sun Masks') was Lena Platonos' first record to feature her own words and vocals. All instruments were performed by Lena herself.. 'Sun Masks' was inspired by Argentine writer, Julio Cortázar as well as the film 'The Wall' by Pink Floyd. "I began to reverse my thought process, to let melodies fade out, to turn to minimalism, to experiment on my Yamaha C60 synthesizer and a variety of boxes' which I used to change the sound of my voice as well as the sound of the synthesizer' says Lena. The album featured experiments with different sounds and a new batch of electronic equipment, such as the legendary Roland TR 808 drum machine. Lena narrates each song in deadpan fashion, skillfully reciting her surreal Greek poetry. Her lyrics deal with the futility of love, the gap of human relationships, consumerist alienation in the bourgeois lifestyle of the 1980s. All songs have been remastered from the original master tapes for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The jacket is an exact replica of the 1984 edition, featuring a photograph of Lena wearing sunglasses or sun masks'. Each copy includes a two-sided 11'x11' insert with lyrics in both Greek with English, and liner notes by Lena.

'Finding People' is the newest recording from Croatian Amor, the morphing alias of Loke Rahbek.

With last year's Croatian Amor album, 'Love Means Taking Action,' we witnessed a transformation in the project, its wide-eyed gaze having stared deep into the news feed, reengineering its heartstrings. 'Finding People' takes this even further.

An assembly of choral traces and transmissions, these four new tracks are the project's clearest move towards pop. At the same time, this is perhaps the weirdest record yet from Croatian Amor, introducing a complexity that we have not previously seen. From the cut-up, granulated rhythm section and auto-tuned choir of the opener 'Sky Walkers', to the duetting ballad of 'Finding People'—featuring additional vocals from new name Khalil—the record never rests for long. The exploration is soothing, its search a tonic to the swarm of emotion it provokes.

And while the four tracks on Finding People barely reach 20 minutes it still manages to present the sharpest vision of the project so far.

Though filtered through cascading app windows, the amorous scenery at the project's core has not changed since its inception, even if there is a lot more green screen in the sequel.

An Iceberg is a large mass of ice detached from a glacier or from a floating platform of glaciers that drifst in the sea. It is in constant motion and most of its mass remains submerged under surface of the water. The goal of this new Iceberg series of releases on Glacial Movements is to describe through techno / dub music this huge mass of ice."Himuro" is the debut album of ambient duo Eraldo Bernocchi/Netherworld. Composed and produced in two years of exchanging material and sound inputs coming both from electronic treated guitars and organic sources. The album lies its foundation on ambient, dub, space and distance."Himuro" was an "ice cellar", a "'cold room" during the Edo period in Japan. The Kanazawa castle had one and after, during the Meiji period, these rooms were part of palaces. Often used for storing snow and keeping it during summer they had medical, food or ceremonial importance. During summer snow or ice kept in the himuro were sometimes sent from one castle to the other travelling as far as 500 km, relocating the "coldness".For months Netherworld supplied Bernocchi with a vast array of soundscapes and textures, an endless stream of feelings and emotions that the latter used to create the foundations of the album tracks on which constructed guitar scapes (often not recognisable), bass lines, harmonies and grooves. After month of collecting and creating sound inputs, Bernocchi started to carefully assemble what we now can listen on Himuro. A velvety sound creation constantly balancing between a rhythm approach and pure drifting scapes. Perhaps the best description of this works lays in the words of philosopher Emil Cioran from his 1936 The Book Of Delusions:
"To detach yourself elegantly from the world, to give contour and grace to sadness, a solitude in style, a walk that gives cadence to memories, stepping towards the intangible, with the breath in the trembling margins of things, the past reborn in the overflow of fragrances, the smell, through which we conquer time, the contour of the invisible things, the forms of the immaterial, to deepen yourself in the intangible, to touch the world airborne by smell, aerial dialogue and gliding dissolution, to bathe in your own reflecting fragmentation..."Eraldo Bernocchi is an Italian composer, arranger, producer and guitarist with a solid reputation as an all round sonic sculptor. Starting his career in the late 70's as a guitarist in independent punk bands, in the mid'80's Eraldo co-founded the conceptual audio project Sigillum-S, which grew into a highly acclaimed international cult act.In the 90's, together with his wife Petulia Mattioli, Eraldo established Verba Corrige Productions, which became the base for a raft of notable audio visual projects and co-operations. A relentless sound explorer, Eraldo Bernocchi has collaborated with numerous artists including Mick Harris (SIMM, Black Engine), Bill Laswell (Somma, Charged, Ashes and numerous others), Nils Petter Molvaer, Harold Budd , Russell Mills, Toshinori Kondo (Charged), Raiz, Almamegretta, Spectre, Sensational, DJ Disk, Professor Shebab, Thomas Fehlmann, Zu (as Black Engine), DJ Olive, Markus Stockhausen, Giovanni Lindo Ferretti (as producer and author), Robin Guthrie, Colin Edwin and Balazs Pandi among many others. " Himuro " is Bernocchi's 100th album.In addition to regular work scoring music for adverts and other multimedia projects, Eraldo has composed film music for Academy Award winner Gabriele Salvatores and produced numerous art installations with Petulia Mattioli, as well as other artists including Russell Mills and Harold Budd.Uniquely, Eraldo is also known for being invited to play and organize several special events for H.H. The Dalai Lama in Italy and be the founder of the record labels RareNoise Records with music addict Giacomo Bruzzo and Transmutation Ltd, his new media company. Netherworld is the moniker of Alessandro Tedeschi, the creator and owner of Glacial Movements Records in Italy. Over the last few years, the label has received much appreciation and critical acclaim from both the national and international music press. Coming originally from Rome, Netherworld published several works on various labels such as Fario, Angle Rec, Umbra, The Wire Tapper. He then decided to focus on his visions for his own record label - Glacial Movements with releases like "Morketid" (2007), "Over the Summit" (2011), " Alchemy of Ice" (2013), "Zastrugi" (2015). These were again critically acclaimed gems of ambient music. Netherworld performed at electronic music festivals such as Störung, Up to Date, Flussi and many more. " It's a beautiful and hallowed sound that Tedeschi generates, shifting from the grim black of the Isolationist to a chroma of snowblind blues, pinks and whites" THE WIRE

* Subtext presents Clear Stones, the first meeting between two distinct voices from New Zealand. In a unique collaboration, Maori sound artist Rob Thorne (Ngati Tumutumu) and Berlin-based electronic composer Fis dismantle boundaries in space, time, and genre, juxtaposing Thorne's living, breathing practice with the weight of modern sound systems.

* Recording sessions at Berlin's Red Bull Studios were the starting point, committing Thorne's traditional Maori instrumentation to tape. Made of wood, stone, bone and shell, the instruments of taonga puoro (translating to 'singing treasures') include various oblique-style flutes, horns, percussion, and objects spun above the player's head during performance. Amongst the instrumentation deployed by Thorne on Clear Stones is the Putatara (conch horn), Purerehua (bullroarer), and Tumutumu Kohatu (stone percussion). However it's the Putorino that features most regularly throughout; an instrument that is both flute and horn, both voices captured in one single take by Thorne on mid-album epic 'Glurn Herrin'. Thorne has been performing in New Zealand for some 25 years, and the release of his debut solo album Whaia te Maramatanga on Rattle Records in 2014 garnered wide critical acclaim, including a nomination for 'Best Maori Traditional Album' at the 2014 Waiata Maori Music Awards.

* Since his debut on Tri Angle Records in 2013, Fis has released a string of acclaimed albums, including his Subtext debut From Patterns to Details in 2016, ending up in end-of-year lists at both FACT magazine and The Quietus. Starting with Thorne's taonga puoro recordings, Fis sculpts bold new settings for the music, mired in deep bass and vast synthetic tones, at times pushing Thorne's wood, stone, and bone into total transformative saturation. The conversation that emerges between these two artists encompasses technology and nature, computers and physical instruments, historical narrative and the present, perceived secularity and sacredness, framing them all as aspects of one single, conscious whole.

The result is a visceral blend of raw gamelan instruments, atmosperic synths, bass guitar and washes of Asian metallophones.

Although the nine tracks on this album are meditative in nature, you'd be wrong to assume this package is little more than new age synths noodling away. 'I' is ambient with a raw component. it touches a nerve and it's as much inspired by the work of Jon Hassell as it is by Coil.

'I' will be released through GONG EAR and available on digital,cd and vinyl.

'Pertiwi and Mirrors in Mountains are another addition to the slew of ambient leaning releases of recent years, but avoid falling into pastiche territories by retaining the emotiveness that many somehow lack'

The third record on Inversions is a collaborative release with the Norwegian label Drid Machine. Golden Oriole, hailing from Stavanger, comprise of Thore Warland and Kristoffer Riis, esrtwhile members of Staer + Tralten Eller Utpult.

PR is currently underway courtesy of Berlin's Dense Promotion. The tracks have received a lot of radio play, for example "The Approaching of the Disco Void" has been played by the German radio station Eldoradio.

The record has so far received reviews from Germany's "Nonpop" and "African Paper," the Italian "Music Map," "Chain D.L.K." and "Rockerilla" magazines, and France's "Hartzine."

Grebenstein is a producer, DJ and visual artist living in Kassel, Germany. After playing in several bands as a drummer and guitarist he made his solo-debut with a 4-track EP on the Regis helmed label - Downwards Records in November 2014.

The 'Gloss' 4 track EP for Horo comes after his Downwards Records follow up 'Strong, Proud, Stupid, & Superior' with Seefried was released in October 2016.

Title track 'Gloss' centres on percussive crescendos and pensive guitar layers, while 'Self' and it's 'Version' stretch this effect out into a grinding, slow motion introspection. 'Loss' closes the EP with serrated drum machine blasts punctuating feedback contortions. The tension throughout the EP is palpable, with the shaping of the tension providing the substance of his signature style.

This time it's our friend Kiat (Syndicate collective) from Singapore with three tunes that are impeccable in style and substance. From the soothing yet purposeful Brooklyn to the acute manifesto that is - Procession' and the final but cathartic - Slider' this EP offers a unique perspective on drum and bass music. The 160 bpm Five Boroughs Remix by Kabuki (V Rec.) is reflecting exactly the aesthetics of his regular night in Berlin called "New Forms" which he runs in collaboration with no other than D:Bridge. The title "Leipzig EP" reflects on the special relationship between the label owner's (Booga) homebase in Germany with Kiat. It goes back to 2007 and kicked off with an interesting story involving dubplates and people still meeting on AIM.

Nucleus & Paradox have always been a worthy pairing and their next release for Metalheadz, which is split into 2 parts, once again proves it. Their 2005 single on the label is switched up across both parts, with '12 Bits' getting a Mako remix whilst the duo themselves present a new remix of 'Aragon', bringing a fresh spark to the original. The two remaining tracks split across the EP are originals, with both showcasing exquisite breaks and twisted basslines throughout. Artwork from Matt Twist completes the 'Wrath EP' package.

Version 008 is a futuristic dubwise double-sider from label boss Orson himself. "For The Head" sees him stalking an abandoned Berlin bunker, finding a sparse yet terrifiying bassline, while beating the 808 drum kit in his signature 128 bpm half-step style. On the massive "The Past Is A Dream" Orson takes us a few storeys deeper: the bass is a more subby affair, urgent and captivating, outerworldly flute, spoken word, coming in like ancient memories, earth-shattering 808, echoeing a certain Chicago warehouse located deep in the London jungle. Version 008 is another indispensible piece of past, present and future dub - supported internationally in the rave by respected DJs such as Loefah, Lamont and DJ Hops.

Yet again, LabelOwner Gaze ill joins forces with the Danish Dubstep ambassador RDG, this time for a 4 track collaborative EP. On the Aside the artists' minds melt together in two pieces of Dubstepscience. As the title suggests, RDG and Gaze ill show what Dubstep is made of with 'Keepin' It Real' that's characterized by a pressuring hardness, and uplifting energy. 'The Zone' follows with its progressive universe that evolves in just the right way with perfect timing. The Bside shows off the two artists' individual skills with immense, paranoid vibrations on RDG's 'Shapeshift', and thrillingly deep basslines on Gaze ill's 'Combo'. To celebrate their 20th release none60 have recruited Naibu for two superb remixes!

Naibu was given the choice of remixing anything in the none60 back catalogue and chose to remix Silent Dust's collaborations with Detroit's SelfSays to astounding effect, keeping the hip hop elements of the original and mixing them with his unique drum work and atmospherics. Label regulars Ulterior Motive present two finely cut pieces of drum and bass, both of which are full of the usual hypnotic funk and production prowess that the duo are now synonymous with. Xordox orbits a universe inhabited by darkness, wit, mystery adventure and experimentation. The cinematic quality that exudes from Thirlwell's bent being presents itself in Neospection, unlike Thirlwell's other works this is predominantly a synthesizer record, including recording sessions from his residency at the legendary EMS studios in Stockholm. Sarah Lipstate (aka Noveller) plays her super-processed soundscape guitar on three of the tracks on the album, and additional mixing took place at Lazer Sound studios with Al Carlson (who works extensively with Oneohtrix Point Never).

Neospection is ere 4 yor. Xordox arrives as unexpected and remote as any alien encounter but security lies in the cosmic drama and dark shadows that seep throughout Thirlwell's soul. In this, 2017 we once again enter the mind and world of one man who refuses to play along with anyone's game but the idiosyncratic one of his own devising.

An integral part of the label from it's early days, Youngsta has been involved in the direction and curation of Tempa's output for many years from its days of signing artists like Skream and Benga to ushering in a new sonic territories from the likes of Hodge, Alex Coulton and Markee Ledge. As he moves more into the world of music production it would be a natural progression for him to release on the label.

Each 12" on Tempa from Youngsta has always explored new and different sound palettes for him and this time is no different. Working with a new partner, Cimm, their unique take on music at 140bpm is the result

The 12" leads off with Split Minds - a combination of distorted 808's and Sub Bass, and nimble percussion work fuels the track's half-time stomp.

On the B-side, the minimal Redshift focuses on atmospherics and trickles and hints of melodies. Building slowly over waves of sub bass, vocal snippets weave in and out of the track creating a sense of space and clarity. Each sound is given ample room to breathe, guaranteeing maximum sound system pressure.

REINHOLD FRIEDL's zeitkratzer proves the perfect ensemble for "Oneirika", avantgarde-veteran ELLIOTT SHARP's composition / soundscape inspired by CAGE-an tradition that premiered at MAERZMUSIK FESTIVAL 2014.

zeitkratzer worked with ELLIOTT SHARP for the first time already in 1997 and have since then been releasing several cooperations, including 2 duo releases of zeitkratzer mastermind REINHOLD FRIEDL and ELLIOTT SHARP. Over the last 40 years the avant-garde musician has created an immense oeuvre: he has performed and recorded with a.o. JOHN ZORN, BILL LASWELL, ZEENA PARKINS, JOEY BARON, DAVID TORN and runs his own formation CARBON. SHARP also composed for the SOLDIER STRING QUARTET, the AMERICAN COMPOSER'S ORCHESTRA or the SYMPHONIC ORCHSTRA of HESSISCHER RUNDFUNK (the New Yorker actually studied with MORTON FELDMAN and ROWELL RUDD). "Oneirika", named after the greek waking dream, is inspired by the CAGE-an tradition and, with its score making use of SHARP's innovative method to filter and process his self-generated musical manuscripts via Photoshop, leaves a great interpretatory latitude to the performers. A perfect subject for an ensemble of the calibre of zeitkratzer who are able to translate from a frequency of light and image into sound and motion. It also fits perfectly with zeitkratzer's sound philosophy: high-quality amplification of acoustic instruments! "Oneirika"was commissioned by Berlin's Maerzmusik Festival and premiered in 2014 at the Berghain, Berlin. Recorded by MARTIN WURMNEST , mixed by RALF MEINZ, mastered by MIKE GRINSER at D&M.

Within its 20 years of existence, REINHOLD FRIEDL's ensemble zeitkratzer has proved its interpretatory mastership on a wide range of fields such as contemporary / avant-garde composers, electronic artists, industrial underground - and, probably most surprising on this list, also in traditional music / folklore as documented on the two albums "Volksmusik" and "Neue Volksmusik" . For "Serbian War Songs", a selection of traditional songs from and about World War I, the "modern composition supergroup" (THE WIRE) have invited some special guests: the renowned singers SVETLANA SPAJIC and DRAGANA TOMIC (who both worked a.o. with ROBERT WILSON) and the diple / gusle player OBRAD MILIC. REINHOLD FRIEDL and SVETLANA SPAJIC (probably the most acknowledged expert for traditional songs in Serbia) selected some traditional Serbian songs from and about World War I, and OBRAD MILIC contributes "Assassination In Sarajevo", a song in the classic epic form he had learnt from his father Bogdan, a famous gusla player at the beginning of the 20th century. Commissioned by Berlin's Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt, the performance was recorded and mixed by longtime zeitkratzer sound engineer MARTIN WURMNEST and mastered by MIKE GRINSER at D&M.

Infernal Sounds are back with their 6th release on the label, this time with the combined minds and talent of Japanese based artists, Karnage and the infamous Rider Shafique on vocals. The A side, 'Realise' providers a weighty influx, featuring the elemental voice of Rider, backed by a rugged roller in the form of 'Bayside Shakedown' on the B side.

The fourth Hotflush release of 2017 comes from Minneapolis-based DJ and producer, TML. He made his debut in 2014 with One Inch of Water, an album in cassette form via Always Human Tapes. His style takes cues from the bass and jungle halcyon days of yore, yet in his hands these influences are pestled into anything but nostalgia.
No Memory looks forward to a place where pigeonholes don't exist; where past, present and future boil an amalgamated stew; where 'experimental' and 'clubby' aren't effective antonyms. It's an album in miniature - six tracks spanning a broad range. The unmistakable taste of jungle pervades side A, becoming increasingly less abstract as it goes: from the fractured opening of 'Face Pads', through the dub of 'Cold Sleep', to the sunrise head bang that is 'Crying'. Side two moves inside. It's darker there. The tunes - 'Strainer', 'RHU' and 'Code Library' - share a paredbackness. Their beats look askance as they shuffle big and bold.

Two years after his latest solo appearance on DEMENT3D, Francois X, also co-founder of the label, reveals his new EP Unicorn Paranoia. A record that sounds slightly more intimate indeed, after a period marked by close collaborations, especially with Opuswerk (Hiss:1292) and Antigone (We Move As One).

Social Experiment Records teams up with one of Toronto's true old school techno legends, Greg Gow for the artist's stunning debut LP, 'Lost Days'... Greg Gow has been a respected ambassador of Toronto's electronic music scene for nearly threedecades, championing his long running Restructured label since 2001, DJ'ing in the cities keyclubs since the 90s and bringing the fruits of his relationship with neighbouring Detroit back to his hometown. It is his connection to the Motor City that has brought him attention over recent years,spurred on in large part by his signing to Derrick May's legendary Transmat imprint in 2009 with the techno anthem 'The Bridge'. This was to play a pivotal role in the regeneration of Transmat at the time and lead to further releases for Gow on the imprint, a record on Kevin Saunderson's KMS label and appearances at the Movement festival. Gow's sound speaks of this close affinity between these two great cities with a smoky, gritty dub inflection that permeates every bar of this his stunning debut album. He has long been a local legend in Toronto's scene but now there is a real sense that this LP is set to propel this unsung hero on to techno's global stage. The 'Lost Days' LP kicks off with 'Inception', a late night ambient soundtrack that conjures up a sleeping urban metropolis, before 'Fly Tipping' slides into a soul infused Detroit groove that is slow and sensuous, spaced out and smooth. Cleverly upping the ante, 'Curl De Sac' takes a dubby, deep rolling house direction with well crafted synths extending in all directions before 'Refractions' re-sets the mood with brooding and beatless chords, found sound details and gentle breaking waves. The latter half of this most coherent journey starts with a classic dub techno cut in 'Lost Days', rippled with electric static and underpinned by firm rubber kicks, before 'Still Life' shows off Gow's mastery of his synths: they ripple into the distance and bring a sense of serenity as they build to a peak then dissipate once more. It's a faultless demonstration of tension and energy as 'Too Late' gets more forceful and driven but no less deep and cerebral with its hypnotic stabs and subtle rhythms. Closing opus 'Beyond Time' is a blissful final interlude that sounds like a spaceship drifting through the cosmos as the captain mutters into his PA. That final track rounds out a truly outstanding collection of electronic music that is imbued with warm techno soul and makes sense both on intimate dancefloors as well as up close in headphones. The album itself was mixed down at Toronto's go-to facility, Treatment Centre Studios, and it's clear that every sonic detail has been treated with the respect it deserves. Greg Cow's debut album has been a long time coming but it has certainly been worth the wait. It is a testament to his true talents as a producer and is another milestone marker for the ever impressive Social Experiment Records.

'Kunst' marks the first collaboration between these two heroes. John Cunnane, p.k.a. dgoHn & Jodey Kendrick, a.k.a J.K., Black Narcissus, Lord Of The D. Both gentlemen have appeared on Rephlex and Weme Records. It's strikingly original, great listening but hard to describe accurately with attention-grabbing pidgeonholes: ''From ambient, moody soundscapes to rinsing, hi-tech workouts.. and beyond.''

Nucleus & Paradox have always been a worthy pairing and their next release for Metalheadz, which is split into 2 parts, once again proves it. Their 2005 single on the label is switched up across both parts, with '12 Bits' getting a Mako remix whilst the duo themselves present a new remix of 'Aragon', bringing a fresh spark to the original. The two remaining tracks split across the EP are originals, with both showcasing exquisite breaks and twisted basslines throughout. Artwork from Matt Twist completes the 'Wrath EP' package.

This album has its origins 17 yeas ago in early 2000, before Chain Reaction released the legendary Ship-Scope 12'. Three of the tracks here are taken from an acetate cut at Dubplates & Mastering at that time but which wouldn't see the light of day until now, including another batch of tracks taken from original masters. Only 5 copies of that acetate were ever made so this is the first time any of these tracks are available for public consumption and, for our money, rank among the finest and
most distinctive in either the Chain Reaction or Shinichi Atobe's vaults.

The material is effectively some of the Japanese producer's earliest work, showcasing the sort of tender, feminine pressure that would bubble up on the Ship-Scope EP and later be revealed in his new productions, Butterfly Effect and World yet, for many reasons, they would lay sunk in his archive for the next 17 years.
The tracks taken from that acetate are labelled First Plate 1-3 and really are quite remarkable, having taken on so much character and added weight over the years that the incidental crackle
of surface noise imbues proceedings with an added dimension that's hard to fathom. It basically sounds like a lost transmission making its way from Paul-Lincke-Ufer at the turn of the millennium
to a new, completely changed world all these years later.
The patina of crackle lends a mist-on-bare skin feeling akin to summer garden parties at Berghain in the stepping First Plate 1, and gives a foggier sort of depth perception to the hydraulic,
Maurizian heft of First Plate 2, but it's the submerged euphoria of First Plate 3 that hits the hardest; a heady, bittersweet reminder of days gone by.The other four tracks are crisply transferred from master tapes, relinquishing a sublime, impossible to categorise House variant that recalls everything from DJ Sprinkles to Ron Trent, yet with that weird, timeless production tick that by now has become something of a signature for this most distinctive and hard to categorise producer.

Mixes improvisation, guitar chimes, stretched time, electronic beats, sun-shaped mantras going in & out of phase. 1 sided, hand screened, clear vinyl, 100 copies.

Geej  is pleased to present the debut album by installation artist and mystic minister The Reverend Marco D'Andrea. The Garden is an album which began as an installation project fusing the objects of the vague Canadiana of his childhood: tents, vintage speakers and the hippie totems that line the basements of 70s suburbia. 
D'Andrea's sound art has in the past made use of various antiquated sound technologies, both dissecting and distilling old psych and classic rock records to an ambient core of shamanistic drone. In part, The Garden is a meditation on the Canadian tradition of camping, in particular Marco's own memories of camping in the 80s in Ontario provincial parks. 
'My dad had a 70s canvas tent, which has a specific feel and smell. I decided to find a vintage canvas tent for my installation and since this piece was about childhood and my father, I decided to use my dad's favourite albums as the basis of the sound. There were a few heavy psychedelic songs that made a strong impression on me as a kid.'
The Garden album is conceived as a mirror to the psychedelic sounds of the late 60s and early 70s, in particular the eponymous debut album of certiain heavy metal originators that will be obvious to keen eyed fans. 
Each piece of music is an attempt to get to the raw essence of psychedelic rock, beyond musicality and the phallic narratives of indulgent hedonism, and rather to a place of reflective worship. As such the music draws into view the essential baroque grandeur of classic rock stripped down into its essential tonalities. The title, a reference to the Hieronymus Bosch painting on the cover, is also an allusion to the biblical garden and a comment on the contemporary experience of nature as a garden that we keep for ourselves and do what we want with. This idea extends to the revolutionary aspirations of psychedelic culture, which for all its spiritual expanse and openness, was easily commodified and used to sell everything from cars to toothpaste. The lasting legacy of 60s counterculture is a lost path: as Bosch reminds us, the garden can be a dangerous place to leave.
Marco D'Andrea is an artist and an ordained Reverend based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His artwork incorporates sound art, audio recordings, sculpture and installation where objects, sounds and environments form a relationship and create meaning in the moment of listening and experiencing. D'Andrea was born in the small town of Sharon, Ontario and as a first generation Canadian, grew up with a unique mix of Italian Catholicism and hard-rocking, working-class Canadiana. D'Andrea was ordained as a Metaphysical Minister in 2017.

Next Phase Records present the second volume of the Wound Up Beat Tape series showcasing experimental downtempo music from around the world. This limited edition cassette and digital release features 11 exclusive tracks ranging from instrumental hip hop to jazz fuelled break beat.
Like the rst volume it's aim is to deliver a unique and personal auditory experience stretching an array of BPM's. This adventurous approach to compilations is reminiscent of classic Mo Wax albums that remain a constant source of inspiration for producers today.

The release begins with a delightful slew of uplifting samples and colossal drums before a trademark Next Phase excursion into unconventional fusions and monstrous soundscapes takeover.

Flipping the traditional concept of a Beat Tape on
its head the Wound Up philosophy is a clear one: to deliver a variety of fully produced tracks that demon- strate character, diversity and emotion whilst keeping that funk alive!

The cassette is limited to 100 copies with each one being personally assembled by label curator Robbert Peperkamp. This edition contains exclusive atmospheres and skits that form an enhanced cinematic style experience. It comes complete with a download/code to the digital version of the LP.

Raincloud Records has announced its debut release, a two-track 12' from Mancunian duo Alan Johnson. Lead track, 'Operator', is a punchy, spacious stomper laced with golden-era grime horns and strings. Delayed, disembodied clicks, claps and pulses echo throughout along with a call-to-arms vocal pulled straight from the soundclash. On the flip, 'The Poet' builds an enormous groove out of broken percussion, spoken word and an intermittent woodwind sample in a manner that recalls early DMZ white labels. This will be Alan Johnson's first standalone release since 2013's standout 'Goron Sound' on Blank Mind. The duo channel golden-era UK soundsystem music of the mid-to-late noughties into a tight techno template, blending serious bass pressure with a dynamic rhythmic approach that pulls in influences from across the spectrum. As much touched by the bounce of UK funky as the driving tempo of techno or the abstract synths of instrumental grime, Alan Johnson's music is emblematic of a generation that has lived through one of the most fruitful and creative periods of UK electronic dance music to date. Founded by producer/DJs Caski and Near - who have previously released as individuals on labels including Tectonic, Keysound, Ghost, EMF, Trapped Audio & Pretty Weird - Raincloud Records builds on Bristol's famed heritage as one of the UK's most exciting musical hubs. Sitting somewhere between early Hemlock and Hotflush, and the more industrial leanings of Livity Sound, Swamp 81 and Houndstooth, Raincloud aims to provide a home for artists reveling in a no-boundaries approach to making music for the dancefloor.

To close out the last of The Space Between Remix Series, we turn over four more prime cuts to some of the freshest producers in the scene. First up, we take one of the most memorable jams from the album, dubwise roller Backfoot Dub' featuring long time BoS family member the Emcee Child. We turn remix duties over to one of the masters of jungle riddims ­ the mighty Bladerunner. Wasting no time at all, the tune drops into thick amen beats before introducing the ska-­tinged horns of the original. From there we go straight into a monster Reese bassline that's setting floors alight.Up next, Jaybee & Dave Owen take the delicate Cartier' and turn it into a rugged liquid roller. Soulful vocals play against the cut up guitar hook of the original as it slinks and slides its way over a tech­-fueled bassline.For our third remix track, we go into the moody Don't Hold Back' . For this cut, one of the most promising producers in the North American scene, Flaco takes things deep with a complex blend of pads over crisp claps and rolling beats. One for the sunrise vibes, he keeps the lush vocals of Dylan Germick strong throughout the track.To close out the EP, we turn our heads to Bristol as The Insiders take the tune Control' into darker territory. Crisp hats ride along the intro as the track builds before dropping into an old school rugged bassline stepper reminiscent of the jungle roots of their hometown.

Gidge is a duo consisting of Jonatan Nilsson and Ludvig Stolterman from Umeå, a small city in the north of Sweden. Jonatan and Ludvig met in school at the age of 16 and quickly became good friends. They had a mutual interest for electronic music, and in their second year together, after taking a Sound Production class, they started producing music. Nine years later, they released their debut LP 'Autumn Bells' - a release that inspired music lovers from all over the world.Autumn Bells' was an effort from the two to make an electronic album that derived out of natural sounds and moods. Together with melancholic vocal samples and warm, fuzzy chord progressions, the music of Gidge seemed to affect their audience in an emotional way, which eventually resulted in the duo taking the top spot as Best New Artist at XLR8R's readers poll of 2014, as well as the LP ending up on numerous Best of 2014-lists.2017 seems to be a next step in the duo's career - with their next release LNLNN coming out on Atomnation. Continuing on the success of Autumn Bells, LNLNN is a 7-track mini album where Gidge continues using the woods and widths of the north as their main source of inspiration. The new mini album is a mixture of electronic music and organic elements, such as wooden and stone percussions recorded in the forests outside of Umeå. With Sold out shows in Amsterdam, London, Paris and this early effort to the 2017 release schedule, Gidge is ready to continue inspiring music lovers from all over the world.

JahYu, the German musician known for his stellar dub music released on the highly respected Steppas and Trigramserie, would like to extend his love for dub and dubstep music through his newly established Tripedal Crow imprint.
This allows the producer to transport the balance of earth-shaking bass, drums and authentic melodies - a Universal Sound that is rootikal, conscious, diverse and specifically made for sound systems.As founder, JahYu aims at exhibiting his interpretation of 'Universal Sound In The Lineage Of The Sun'. Olim in latin can be used to indicate a time in the past or in the future. It can mean 'once upon a time' and 'someday in the future'. A name and a project to try to move away from trends and genres, by taking inspiration from the past but at the same time leaving it, moving forward to shape a different and more narrative sound. The first attempt to do so is Recursively: an 8 track album, opening with a sentence from Bunny Marrett sampled from an old documentary about St Paul's and the Jamaican immigration in Bristol during the 80's. Inspired by those intro words, Recursively is a journey born from many years moving around, packing and unpacking suitcases, leaving villages, finding cities,leaving friends and finding more, emigrating, integrating. It's a story about an entire generation trying to find the peace somewhere, somehow, sometimes by repeating the same steps in a loop of actions which seem to be the same but ultimately never are. It's a soundtrack of those feelings and at the same time a message of hope to continue the journey through the faith that the meaning is the infinite journey itself. An infinite loop masterfully represented in Carol Rollo's illustration. A story to be continued.

The danish label Echocord Records was formed 15 years ago this year by Kenneth Christiansen. It will now be celebrated with a compilation plus a big tour around it. We are super happy and proud that we can still continue releasing quality electronic music.
The compilation contains 10 tracks from 10 artists that all have been releasing on Echocord and Echocord Colour before from veterans Mikkel Metal, Deadbeat, Fluxion to newer signed artist Arovane.
All tracks are new and unreleased.
"15 Years With Echocord" covers the typical Echocord sound. From ambinet/chillout by STL, stoned dub by Beat Pharmacy, to typical Dub-Techno and House from Fluxion, Resoe and XDB, to the more dancefloor peak tracks by Mike Dehnert and Deadbeat.

De-Bons-en-Pierre is a project from Beau Wanzer & Maoupa Mazzocchetti. Beau Wanzer spends the majority of his days sifting through paraffin embedded animal tissues and reading old issues of Fangoria, occasionally breaking his monotonous routine to record in various fits and bursts. As well as solo material, he is also in numerous projects including Streetwalker, Mutant Beat Dance, Civil Duty, and Corporate Park. He's released on many labels including; Diagonal, L.I.E.S, Cititrax, Nation, Rush Hour, and Light Sounds Dark. Maoupa Mazzocchetti is the pseudonym of Florent Mazzocchetti, a French producer based in Brussels. Florent is strictly devoted to a DIY mentality around music production and his sound revives the electro-industrial aesthetic of the late 70s and early 80s. He's released notable productions on labels such as Unknown Precept, PRR! PRR!, Knekelhuis and Mannequin Records.

While Beau was visiting Brussels he stopped by Maoupa's house to jam for a bit. All songs were recorded on April 4, 2016 between 11:00am and 11:00pm, as single live takes.'Crepes' is a 6-track EP, titled so because they ate crepes the majority of the session. Beau says, "There was a bit of a language barrier. We'd mostly just laugh and nod when something sounded cool to us." The equipment set up included a Roland TR-808, TR-606, SH-101, CR-78, CR-8000, two Syncussions and effects. Over 23 minutes of garbles, sludgy synths and leviathan rhythms. Surfing the slippery slope between industrial and electro, but never quite falling in, just a dip of your pinky toe to to test the temperature.

All songs are mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Housed in a sewage green/blue jacket featuring a crepe-masked duo reminiscent of pulpy VHS covers. Designed by Eloise Leigh and Florent Mazzocchetti. Each copy includes a 2-sided postcard with a photo taken during the recording session.
