Adventurous Belgian percussionist Eric Thielemans makes a fairly unusual entry into the Miasmah catalogue with the surprisingly positive sounding, solo percussion album Sprang. Thielemans has actually appeared on the label earlier - as guest percussionist on Kreng´s debut album L´Autopsie Phenomenal De Dieu. Although you can recognize the sound on this record, the main focus of Sprang is to revert to the pure joy of sound experimentation and letting go of your foothold

Proxima's debut album, Alpha, released on December 1 through Tempa, follows on from a string of blistering
singles for the label, which found the Dutch producer carving out a stark and synthetic vision of 140bpm club
music. Across its eleven tracks, Alpha sharpens his already distinctive aesthetic while significantly broadening in
scope. It's a manifesto of sorts, centred firmly around his characteristic, titanium-hard dubstep mutations, yet
comfortable taking spaced out voyages through melody-soaked electronics, freaked-out sci-fi funk and vocal-led
songs.
Raised in Eindhoven, Proxima, aka Gijs Snik, cut his teeth in drum 'n' bass, with a string of acclaimed 12'
releases for labels including Shogun Audio. But it was when he turned his hand to dubstep that he hit upon a
fresh seam of inspiration. His take on the genre consciously drew upon the perpetual momentum and futuristic
atmospheres of drum 'n' bass inspirations like Photek, yet took advantage of the space within the mix to ratchet
up his music's physical impact to near delirious intensity. His productions strafe dancefloors with stinging welts of
sub-bass and razor-sharpened percussion.
Following his three singles for Tempa, Alpha gathers Proxima's most fully realised music to date - widescreen in
sound but packing intense sound system force. Next to the tinny grind that's characterised some of dubstep's
harder side in recent years, its tracks are rendered in full 3D, with percussion lines moving in snakelike coils
around firestorm distortion, and icepick melodies that cut sharply into the foreground. Opener 'Prologue' is a
deadly dance of glassy shrapnel, its melodies flickering through the mix like early grime blasted into space. It's
followed by the frosty expanses of 'Trapped', a lean halfstep monolith that ranks as one of his toughest and most
minimal tracks so far, and which has been a deadly fixture on dubplate in recent months. 'Pressurized' finds P
Money on frenzied form - with the London MC's rapid-fire bars cutting through windmilling percussion and
grinding beats - while later on the album DRS' voice is taut and restrained while the chaos of 'Smog' erupts
around him.
Indeed, while Proxima's tracks and stripped-back 12's are regulars in the record bags of DJs like Youngsta and
Icicle, the reference points for Alpha stretch far beyond the dubstep world. Its self-contained vision and frosty
evocations of deep space recall the interstellar techno voyages of Detroit pioneers like Jeff Mills, Dopplereffekt
and DJ Stringray. And the rhythmic intricacy and steely poise of tracks like 'Pressurized' and 170bpm Icicle
collaboration 'Redshifted' draw upon the electric charge of contemporary drum & bass, recalling both Shogun
Audio's wiry funk and the machine soul of dBridge and Exit Records.
It's these contrasting impulses that lend Alpha its power. On thrilling highlight 'Gravity', moments of silence are
shattered by shredding distortion and drums cutting violently into empty space. Elsewhere, pinpoint technicality is
paired with moments of striking emotional openness. 'In Vacuo' and 'Playing The Arp' pair tough muscle with
dazzling lead lines, with the latter evolving to a gorgeous, harmony-led climax. And 'Afterwards', featuring the
vocals of Dnae, detours into jazzy territory, sounding both futuristic and strangely bucolic. It closes with the woozy
'Epilogue', whose blend of superheated harmony and intricate percussion captures the essence of Alpha, a debut
album whose approach is familiar in essence but often startlingly fresh in execution.

* Uprise Audio, a key component in the dubstep community world wide, are about to release their second album and this one happens to be by the CEO himself: Seven.

* Seven has been a long time player within the dubstep ranks and has an incredible back catalog of hit records. In 2012 he released his first album - Evolution, which was met with critical acclaim and spurred his ambition to start his own imprint - Uprise Audio.

* After the success of his chart topping single 'Walter White', as well as inclusions on the smash hit WeSC supported compilation Live From The Future, Seven felt it was time to produce his next album and naturally teamed up with the guys at WeSC again to deliver this new 11 track long player together.

* The self titled album 'Seven' is not by any means a conventional dubstep album and Seven has stepped outside of the box with a versatile approach of crafting these works. Each track unfolds like a story, transitioning from one to the next like chapters in a book, each of which have that Seven trademark sound keeping the track list sounding cohesive and cinematic.

Steve Hauschildt is an American electronic musician and founding member of the band Emeralds based in Ohio with releases on Kranky and Editions Mego. Steve has collaborated with Oneohtrix Point Never, sound designer/composer Alan Howarth, Lusine and others.

A compelling leftfield and dance music producer, BNJMN (Ben Thomas) hails from the shores of England's Bournemouth now based on the digital shores of Berlin. BNJMN has released music on Rush Hour, Delsin, Ninja Tune's Technicolour, and Astro:Dynamics. Collaborations include Opal Tapes man Best Available Technology.

Set for release on April 29 on Future Classic, the EP finds Jeremy mining the depths of bass music, synth pop, ambient hip-hop, and everything in between. To mark the announcement of the release, Chrome Sparks has made the record's title track, 'Goddess,' available to stream here. Malvin and his band are also touring the US through April. The tour takes Chrome Sparks through the West Coast, South, and East Coast, with a stop at Coachella. Full tour dates below. Built off the success of Sparks, Jeremy's debut EP for Future Classic, Goddess is Chrome Sparks' most complete statement to date, a refined and matured take on his previous work. Opener 'The Meaning of Love' builds and swirls around a wordless vocal sample, pitched and manipulated to blend in with the surrounding melodies. 'Star Step' ebbs and flows, with the song's synth melody rooted firmly in Chrome Sparks' typically intricate and ornate percussion. The track segues into companion tracks 'Enter the Chrome Forest' and 'Lost In the Chrome Forest,' two cavernous songs that play with the space of the mix as much as they do the song's melody. 'ZzzzzZ' recalls the West Coast beat scene style hip-hop purveyed by the likes of Teebs and Salva. The EP culminates in the EP's triumpnant title track and closer 'Goddess.'

The evolution of Seville-born musician Carlos R. Pinto has been constant since he released his
self-titled EP back in 2010, always exploring the most psychedelic and dreamlike side of hip-hop.
Well-respected international record labels like A Future Without, Brownswood Recordings
and Tru Thoughts, as well as Spanish imprints like Galleta or spa.RK have supported his talent,
giving shelter to an array of releases, remixes and collaborations of a very high standard.
Finally, after releasing the free beat tape "Twin Talk" in 2013 and having impressed crowds from
all over the Spanish territory with his stunning live sets (including his appearance at Sónar that
same year, one of the cornerstones of worldwide electronic music festivals), Lost Twin presents
"The Mist", his new record which will be released on vinyl for the first time, thanks to the efforts
of the Andalusian label Squaring the Circle.

A portrait is a way to stop time and catch emotions and feelings; to transpose this concept in music I picked up my real instrument, the classical guitar,and starting to create the musical core of each track; taking inspiration from my childhood I tried to recreate that quiet atmosphere recording the sound of almost every object in my parent's house, mixing them with electronica and with my classical roots.

The first full album from Toronto's Tre Mission, 'Stigmata' achieves something remarkable. He takes a genre which we think we know and which, in all honesty, he should have no right interfering with. Then he re-shapes it into something entirely new. The otherworldly yet lifelike 'The New Today' is 2562's fourth album and presents his first new material in this guise since 2012's 'Air Jordan' EP, which was also self-released on his When In Doubt imprint.

As with that last EP, 'The New Today' was sketched out during a trip abroad - a six week stay in New York in late summer 2013 - and later arranged at his home studio in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Composed as a narrative collage drawing upon and splicing from an eclectic library of early European synth experiments, new age tapes, musique concrète, krautrock, post punk, obscure electro-pop and other largely forgotten and out of print music, 'The New Today' loosely references the novel of ideas tradition of writing as a restless, eight-track drift bolstered and propelled by his signature texturhythms.

From the humid concrète drone sphere of 'Arrival' through the hypnotising gyrations of 'Terraforming', to the airborne rhythmelodies and mercurial syncopation of 'Vibedoctor' and centrepiece 'Utopia', the tension and conflict of aural assault 'Drumroll' and ultimately the celestial sweep of closing chapter, 'New Life', it's equally the most diffuse, cohesive and involving LP in his celebrated cache.

Unified by dub's loose sense of space and deep sub-frequencies, CHLLNGR's unique amalgam of soul, pop, stripped-down beats, and decaying atmospheres has earned the Copenhagen-based artist, Steven Jess Borth II, adulation from press and peers alike. The nocturnal, murky worlds of his debut 'Haven' and it's follow-up EP 'Datter' alluded to subtle pop possibilities featuring Borth's soft-touch vocals woven into structures indebted to modern R&B's sleek minimalism and the techniques set forth by dub reggae's chief architects King Tubby, Scientist, among countless other legends. An artist who shines in the collaborative process, Borth's acclaimed debut 'Haven' featured Coco (of Quadron), Aku (of Dragons of Zynth), Teachers, and he has been a consistent cohort of South African MC Spoek Mathambo partnering in composing, production, and touring as Mathambo's multi-instrumentalist secret weapon over the past few years.
Over the past year, CHLLNGR has been working on his next full-length for the LA-based Time No Place label. Recorded at the newly built Red Bull Studios in Copenhagen, Borth took a different approach by recording most of the new record at a legitimate studio as opposed to his previous DIY methods. James Blake heads up the debut release on 1-800-DINOSAUR with two tracks showcasing the new labels forward facing manifesto. 1-800-DINOSAUR is the brainchild of both Dan Foat, the man behind R&S Records revival and Blake who also run the 1-800-DINOSAUR club night together with Airhead, Klaus and Mr Assister at Plastic People in London.

The release leads with metallic house banger 'Voyeur Dub', tried and tested to devastating effect on the Plastic People dance floor in 2012, leading to a shortened arrangement of the song finding its way onto Blake's critically acclaimed sophomore album 'Overgrown'. On the flip 'And Holy Ghost' is a beat-less sojourn into the future soundscapes of electronic music and a deft reminder of Blake's ability at traversing genres with ease.

Celebrated ambient artist John Beltran jointly release not one but two vinyl compilations on Delsin Records in association with his own Dado label. The compilations, named Music For Machines Part 1 and Part 2, will take the form of two vinyl LPs released apart, with both releases complied together onto one CD available at a later date. Michigan born producer Beltran, of course, has released countless legendary EPs and LPs on labels like Peacefrog, Carl Craig's Retroactive and Belgium's R&S. His music has been licensed to high profile HBO TV series and a number of films, and pulls together elements of jazz, world music, organic soundscapes and electronic textures into compelling listening experiences. Most recently this came in the form of his Amazing Things album in 2013, whilst his career spanning Ambient Selections from 2011 is still a vital listen. Part 1 of the compilation pulls together new and exclusive tracks from the likes of Winter Flags, Blair French, David Elpezs and John himself, whilst part two focuses on the likes of Natalie Beridze, Kirk Degiorgio and Vincent Volt. Part 1 opens up with the found sound lushness of 'Winterfall Winds' before naturally unfolding through Reinehr's wintry harmonics and the crowning glory of Beltran's own titular track, which is a moving bit of textured modern classical music that sooths your mind, body and soul. As for Part 2, it is riddled with sumptuous sonic delights like Greg Chin's icy and alpine 'Dashboard Angels' and Mick Chillage's beautifully suspended 'Only In My Dreams'. Vincent Volt keeps things beautifully beachy with his 'Subway Arp' and A2B2C2's 'Stereometry' is a suitably sombre affair that closes the compilation down in style.

Gazelle Twin is the moniker of UK-based artist and musician, Elizabeth Walling - the sole creative force and "puppeteer" behind this cryptic, shape-shifting identity. Her self-released debut album, The Entire City (Anti-Ghost Moon Ray, 2011) with its choral-infused, cinematic electronica, won international critical acclaim and a host of high-profile admirers and associations to follow...

Reaching legendary ears far and wide; from Ridley Scott - who ok'd the inclusion of one of her album tracks on a viral for Prometheus - to Gary Numan - who commissioned the remix of 'We Are The Lost'. Clint Mansell is the most recent in a growing LA fanbase, and his rare remix contribution to Mammal is testament to his support for Walling's work, even claiming his involvement helped him "find inspiration" in a moment of disillusionment.
MAMMAL EP
Mammal is the first new material by Gazelle Twin to be released since The Entire City and treads similarly dark and dreamy, but more aggressive terrain. As rich in thematic sources as its sonic palette - inspired by the 1982 Morricone score for John Carpenter's The Thing and the intense, horror-rap of Death Grips - it explores "the alienation of human physical form" - a constantly recurring muse for Walling.

Unsettled and visceral, the lead track, I Turn My Arm, examines the phenomenon of the 'phantom limb', whilst the haunting and spatial This Is My Hand recounts "the fear and awe I felt when I first realised I was a physical object". The track's title and lyrics are linked beautifully to a quote from Ingmar Bergman's Seventh Seal: "This is my hand. I can move it. Blood gushes within it...".

The discerning listener will notice the heartbeat running through all three tracks, and so the final track sits surprisingly comfortably despite its unlikely origins - a cover of Wire's Heartbeat (1978), approved personally by Colin Newman himself before its inclusion was decided upon.

THE REMIXES
Graced with an extraordinary set of remixes, the first comes from Clint Mansell - known internationally as favourite soundtrack composer for Darren Aronofsky's films (Requiem For A Dream, Black Swan, Life of PI). He delivers a suitably 'Carpenterian' version of This Is My Hand, transforming Walling's vocal into a new melody, in a sort of synthetic clone of itself which when accompanied by the intensifying electronic drones, adds extra eeriness to the song's lyrics.

British dubstep artist, Kuedo (Planet Mu) aka Jamie Teasdale - better known as one half of Vex'd - explores striking new harmonies in I Turn My Arm, giving it a softer edge with his signature Oneohtrix-style, dreamy synth textures.

Renaissance Man (Turbo, Modular) approach has an instantaneous effect. A blistering but sparse industrial trip. Its focus strips the vocal away from its harmonic bed and pushes the track into a darker, even more disturbing realm.

Alixander III (Azari & III) treats I Turn My Arm with an archetypal, dark, house influence. A faster tempo and isolating the breathy, androgynous vocals which whisper and gasp in the listener's ear.

Since its founding in 2003, Tempa's Tempa Allstars series has been instrumental in both defining and expanding the boundaries of the dubstep sound as it emerged from its crucible in South London, and over its history to date it has featured music by many of the genre's iconic producers.

The first edition since 2010, Tempa Allstars Vol. 07 offers another potent shot of chestplate-shuddering bass, dancefloor pressure and heavyweight atmosphere from rising artists Wen, Innasound, Batu, Perverse, Alex Coulton and AxH.

The producers selected for Vol. 07 are making music that crosses tempo boundaries, and is instead bound by a shared atmosphere: deeply rooted and sub-heavy, yet still infused with burning rave energy. The music on Tempa Allstars Vol. 07 reflects that diversity of approach. Innasound, AxH and Perverse all offer firey, focused takes on the classic dubstep template. Innasound's 'Step Forward' wanders through a gorgeous, expansive landscape of bleeps and roaring bass, while the peak time halfstep of AxH's 'Nano' hits with the force of an earthquake, its flurries of kicks, toms and percussion rapidly reshuffling around one another in a deadly dance. Perverse's 'Jacobin' is thrillingly minimalist, its grimey machine gun blasts of percussion ringing out into vertigo-inducing empty space.

Elsewhere, Wen, Alex Coulton and Batu draw the same atmosphere of dread into seething techno structures. Wen follows up this year's Parris collaboration on Tempa with 'Push Back', a weaponised voyage through haunted grime atmospheres and deftly swung percussion. In Alex Coulton's 'Equilibrium', the freaked-out shrieks of a dub siren usher in a barrage of tuned percussion and barbed kickdrums. The second 12" closes with the metallic rough 'n' tumble of Batu's 'Ghosted', a symphony of intricately weighted percussion that builds to a towering, furnace-hot climax.

Think Deep Recordings presents a 4-track vinyl to showcase the cream of the crop from two much hyped forthcoming album releases in what is shaping up to be a huge autumn for the label. Firstly, Random Movement and Paul SG provide two standout tracks from the 'Collective Consensus' LP, which will feature thirty quality beats from the best in the business. The massive building horns that fill the intro of Paul SG's Fascination are a call to the dance floor, and the relentless driving energy of the R_m remix of Musical Paradise will send any crowd into a fervour - each track epitomises the legendary style of these accomplished producers.

Since inaugurating Fabric's Houndstooth label back in February of last year, UK-born Berlin transplant JR Seaton aka Call Super has proved to be one of its most interesting producers, building impressively on the early promise of his colourful techno productions for Throne of Blood and Five Easy Pieces.

distant with great interest. In 2012, he sent me his debut LP on Inner Ear under his Fantastikoi Hxoi moniker and it quickly became my favourite album of the year. When I told him our plans for Holger he sent me some of his more electronic-leaning music. I was instantly captured by the driving, trippy kraut techno songs which show homage to the psychedelic sounds of the 60s and 70s while holding their own in the here and now. Exactly our cup of tea.«

'Enter The Spiral' - the title of the opening track by the first collaborative work between Sebastian Mullaert and Eitan Reiter is not just a random name. It is a title which anticipates what can happen if you let yourself go alongside their nine epic musical trips.

They all emerged out of a free flowing improvised communication between the DJs and producers from Sweden and Israel. They both first deeply met on a festival in Tulum, Mexico where they played together at the end of the Maya calendar.

During their Yucatan days they connected intensely and subsequently stayed in touch. Finally Eitan proposed the idea to visit Sebastian in his dropout studio in the Swedish woods in the north of Malmö. Sebastian instantly said yes and added without knowing in February 2014 another chapter to a vibrant artistic year, in which he started to focus on his solo work and took a hiatus from his famed project Minilogue, after playing, producing, and performing with his close friend Marcus Henriksson for more than 16 years. 

Warmly welcomed in a little Swedish village right at the entrance of a big National Park, Eitan, who produces and releases genre-crossing electronic and electro-acoustic music solo or in projects like Loud since the mid of the noughties, found himself right in the centre of Sebastian's family.

Their days been shaped by daily life and they took care of the children, cooked, practiced yoga, meditated and made long walks with out words in the nearby forest. Absorbed by the sense of oneness with their daily existence they started to communicate in the studio to build aimless an intersection between the outer and the inner world.

It turned out to be a celestial dynamic voyage of unconscious emotions in time that made them produce a unique journey in sound. They drift on ambient territories, they let their heartbeats out via knocking techno beats, go deeply into moments of trance and drop some sparkling acid arpeggios while waving into all sorts of electronic musical expressions.

You cannot put their collaboration into one stylistic corner - you can only say that all their music distributes the feeling of an unvarnished musical trip. If you like you can call 'Reflections Of Nothingness' a Roland album, as it is largely made on a Roland TB303, TR808, SH101 and Juno 60.

Walking through the sky...
Five years ago Christian Naujoks, Peter M. Kersten and Richard Von Der Schulenburg started a series of spontaneous recording sessions without any intention or idea. The only thing what held the group together were the immediate results hitting the three musicians straight inside their hearts. Jazz as a metaphor of instrumental conversation, improvisation in the most dillettant way, science as a matter of exploring the opposite sound of what instruments were built to — these might be parts of a concept where there was none.
Evangelisti & Ennio Morricone, Gerard Grisey and the school of GRM, Psychic TV — none of the influences of Naujoks, Schulenburg, Kersten inspired the sound of Sky Walking as much as the rotten studio in a backyard of a record store in Hamburg, including a definitely weird collection of instruments, some russian microphones and the saddest sounding steel drum.
Even their solo careers are seperated from what became an album yet: Richard von der Schulenburg — the magician of keyboards who is part of the Pudel Apparat and piano player in the 440Hz Trio (ft. Jacques Palminger) released a couple of vinyl records and a tape under his moniker RVDS. Christian Naujoks recorded the second of his two albums at the Hamburger Laiszhalle with the legendary producer Tobias Levin. Both of his longplayers came out on Dial Records — the label Peter M. Kersten founded almost 15 years ago. Kersten is much better known as Lawrence for his countless releases on Smallville, Mule Musiq, Kompakt, Styrax, Ghostly International.

From the depths of music's murkiest waters, AUDIO is back and bigger than ever. Pumping those bass heavy dumbbells and effortlessly reigning over the realm he helped to shape, prepare yourself for a musical excursion like no other.
The union between RAM and AUDIO sent reverberations throughout the community. Having already thrown hard-hitting punches with his first release on the imprint, it's now time for another full-frontal assault.

The opening credits roll out like a musical blockbuster, with those first few jabs sending you reeling in suspense. 'Nil By Mouth' is snappy, aggressive and builds tentatively, with an imposing drop which leaves a lasting impact. There's an endless stream of hard-hitting bass notes, cutting deeper and deeper into the mix until its intimidating composition is exposed. The structure is then diced up by an elevating drum pattern, leading you into meticulously crafted anarchy. AUDIO smashes you head first through a glass prototype, leaving you to bear the brunt of his production.

Next up, we're introduced to the mechanical drill of 'Ultron'. The first few booms pushes the intro forward at an alarming pace, accelerating as the gears are audibly shifted. Measured, yet proving to be unstoppable and flying forward aboard one pounding rhythm, expect no less from the guy who brought you 'Heads Up' and 'Stampede'. Ending with a final snap of breakbeat, you're left to bask in a record that detonates with outstanding power. Following on from these dance floor destroyers, is aptly named 'Break It'. On first listen, stay away from anything fragile. Winding up with the same tell-tale aggressiveness which his production style is renowned for, he manoeuvres last minute into unfamiliar territories. Bouncing between bars with a war-cry like vocal sample, AUDIO pulls you in and keeps you there... another shining example of AUDIO's ability to produce game changing, contemporary drum and bass. Wrapping up this sonic assault is 'Gotham'. As dark and brooding as the famed city itself, find yourself lead through a stepping, precise construction of beats. Unforgiving, weighty pads guide a steppy riddim into undiluted madness. This completely envelops the musical environment and it's difficult not to blown away by the conundrum of quick witted instrumentation that snap, crack and smack with every break. Featuring next level cuts from a man who stands at the genre's forefront, it's time to let the music talk. And it'll stand as one of the dnb population's most lasting conversation for a while.

Many Faces Out Of Focus comprises six joyously well produced tracks from 22 year old essex boy Stuart Howard. His productions have already caught the interest of those voices seeking future cult heroes and it is no surprise that the finesse with which he controls samples and synths has left every new listener weâ'¬'¢ve played it to smiling with glee. It is easy to cloud the blissful abstracted popiness of this record with the details of its complexities. Itâ'¬'¢s the way that he produces so playfully, breaking rules that others could not and involving the listener in a way that very few producers are able that hooked us in. It wasnâ'¬'¢t until the mastering studio that we discovered differently tuned bass drums panned to one side then another, a wash of reverb squeezed hard into only one channel and numerous tiny recorded vocal samples. The EP opens with a layered crescendo build on clicks and a seething synth sound, 30 seconds of darkness explodes suddenly into pop hits, tempered with sub bass, set against a sampled and repitched vocal. From this point the EP bathes your brain in lush textures, surprising and explosive atmospheres set in unencountered, unearthly spaces, all somehow perfectly set against catchy rolling choruses informed by pop and commercial R&B.

After a twisted, introduction full of warped vocals and shifting percussion, 'Villain' builds into a track designed to kill the rave. The title track AK47 trains its scope directly on the dance floor. An unapologetic, raw stomper of a track. Keeping the vibe upbeat and bouncy, a straight to the point crisp stepping beat is peppered with round after round of alternating barreling bass stabs and amen edits. This track has been wreaking collateral damage wherever it has been played.

Meanwhile the contrasting half tempo style of the flip side track Leaving sends the release in a completely different direction. Subtensions eye for detail and flawless, unique production skills makes this track strand out effortlessly from the crowd. Some hi tech, future funk, hip hop vibes are on display marrying a great dance floor ethic with another fresh take on the d&b framework.

Closing the release is the deepest track of the single - Offset. Offbeat rhythms paired together with a soulful vocal, delayed percussion and huge synth stabs. Keeps this one on a vibe that once again crosses over beyond the scope of the die-hard RH fans and shows the superb capability of this exciting new artist.
