After leaving behind the Somalian pirates, Geiom is cruising the sunny waters of the Indian Ocean when he picks up a distress signal on his scanner. He follows the signal until he locates a tiny remote island and a guy called Bowly, who said that he was on his way from France to the New World, but got totally lost. Judging by the age of the map he was using its easy to see how. Bowly spent his time on the island hanging out with the locals who amuse themselves by creating a unique style of music on some amazing handcrafted instruments. Geiom helps Bowly get on his way again, and leaves him with a more useful map. Some months later, Bowly beams over his music as a gift from his new found homeland in Canada - the tracks are like some strange mutation of those distant tropical players and the UK-based pirate radio transmissions that Bowly has been tuning into - Geiom loves the result and decides to send them straight over to Transition in London for mastering and release on Berkane Sol. This 12' has been getting played by selectors like - Subswara crew NYC (Soul Motive), Brackles (RinseFM), Grevious Angel (Soul Jazz), Martin Kemp (Blunted Robots), Cooly G (Hyperdub), Shortstuff (Ramp), Spamchop (Wigflex), Oneman (RInseFM)...

Another new release, another new talent. Breed 12 Inches' ear for talent is becoming a cornerstone of the scene, and BRD007 intends to make no change to that. Artists Telekinesis and Kinetik assume the reigns of the latest release, with two iconically large tracks - 'Deja Vu' and 'Lithium'. Working with the develop side at Breed 12 Inches, both production outfits have produced a well engineered 12~ to be proud of, and can now sit back and watch it do damage on a global scale. Already beginning to feature heavily in the rotation from the scenes finest, BRD007 is scheduled for 7th June 2010 full release, with digital release due shortly after. Slovenia's two brightest young stars tag-team with Kinetik, in a ferociously infective 12~. Sonically prominent, and rhythmically outstanding, BRD007 builds to the Breed 12 Inches back catalogue of impressive artist development, matched by no other label around. 'Deja Vu' points towards the kind of tune that most wish they had produced, but few can actually pull off. Aggressive, operatic, rolling, and employing influences from a wealth of outside resources, BRD007's A-side is the perfect arrival for Telekinesis onto the world platform. Lithium's vibe and funk-influenced arrangement constitutes to what we would called a 'proper roller'. A running pace is mapped out by a hot-steppin' drum track, with a low-end designed to test any system. With the colliding influences from both Telekinesis and Kinetik, the B-side is not to go unheard.

The Miracles Club is a group from Portland, Oregon featuring members Rafael Fauria, Honey Owens and Ryan Boyle. Fusing elements classic Chicago acid house, world music, experimental pop and contemporary dance; they have been adding a new and vibrant energy to the west coast US club scene over the last 12 months.

Seven 7inches in seven months - Hamburg's Pingipung Label surprises fans and music lovers with a vinyl series called "Summer Of Seven".

Anile, DSM's baby-faced assassin, steps up to deliver the second artist EP on the label, and one of the most talked about releases of the second half of 2010. Climbing steadily through the ranks with releases on Loxy's Cylon imprint and the seminal Renegade Hardware label, DSM is proud to have one of the brightest production talents currently operating in drum & bass on its roster. This EP takes DSM further into the darker territory it started exploring with DSM014 & 016 and it does not disappoint. The title track of this EP is the bouncy stepper 'Last March'. A snarling, distorted bassline has meant that this tune has found favour with numerous a-listers in recent times and is a worthy tune for the EP to be named after.On the flip, is the ferocious 'Disaffected'. Eeerie pads and atmospheres make way for a driving drum loop and sub bass before all hell breaks loose at the drop with one of the nastiest, most twisted reese basslines heard for a very long time. The influence of labels such as the aforementioned Renegade Hardware is obvious, and it is one of, if not the, most ferocious and devastating slice of d&b ever to grace DSM.

San Francisco-based producer Antiserum steps up for Dub Police with two unique collaborations, featuring local producers Ill-Esha and 12th Planet respectively. His music is a masterfully crafted fusion of influences that results in a sound entirely his own, balancing light against dark and colour against pure bass pressure. Showcasing a deft musicality as well as an unrivalled talent for system shaking productions, Antiserum is taking the scene by storm. Releases on Narco.Hz, S.C.U.M and Argon amongst others have already propelled him to the forefront of the rapidly growing American dubstep scene, with plenty more still to come.On the A side, he is joined by Ill-Esha on 'Zephyr', a sick g-funk inflected roller. Skittering hi-hats and tough drums lay the foundations on this one, with the deep, smooth bass sweeping underneath. The vibrant synths weave in and out of each other with ease, swimming around the mix and swelling expansively through the speakers. On the flip he teams up with 12th Planet on the massive 'Purple & Gold'. The g-funk influences continue to flow through this track, pinned down by a hard bassline and taut drums. The shimmering synths sliding over the top of the percussion and off into the atmosphere give the track an epic stop-in-your-tracks effect.

Benton is making a name for himself in the dubstep scene with his dark and brooding productions. He's released on labels like BoxClever and Biscuit Factory but he's most well known for his tracks on N-Type's Wheel & Deal imprint. New-ro-phen / Smash The Badger

It's been three year since Black Sun Empire released 'Endangered Species', the last Black Sun Empire album and now they are back with 'Lights and Wires' This 12 is the sampler and it's ridiculously heavy. 'Bullet In The Head' gets a re-working from the tech king Gridlock and the flips a remix of 'Driving Insane' by Counterstrike. This sampler is a great example of what's to come and that is filth, pure filth!

Gold' is the new single from Darkstar's highly anticipated debut album 'North'. In contrast to last year's very popular 'Aidy's Girl Is A Computer' 12', 'Gold' is indicative of Darkstar's current direction as a three piece group. The single is an inspired cover of 'You Remind Me Of Gold', a Human League b-side from 1983, prompted when the band heard the original 45rpm record played at 33rpm. Rich piano lines, elegant synths and gauzy micro-rhythms accompany lead singer James Buttery's languid, computer-processed vocals, to create a poised and quietly epic song that will stay with the listener for ages to come. On the flip side, up and coming Berlin-based producer John Roberts, known for his output on Dials, creates a track that recalls classic early house, twisting the piano figure into energetic shapes over a deep melodic bass-line, somehow keeping the softness and atmosphere of the original locked into the mix.

So as Winter seeps away and the frost melts we at Duff Disco are getting ready for these sidewalk, hot summer nights, radio bout to blow, small talk under the lights, feel the heat wild and sweet, Duff Disco returns with his peerless edit series clocking in at a number 5, yeah, a fist full of dollars, the five knuckle shuffle of releases. Sticking to the slo and sexy formula 'Catch Me Out 'and 'You Wish' are two sultry jams signalling that spring is approaching and all the ladies will begin removing the layers and making the days instantly seem brighter.

Spaced out bleeps and soulful vocals lull you into a false sense of serenity before the synth stabs and trademark Jack Beats bass slap you about the face and remind you that you're here to dance, you pussy. The track, features a crushing remix from Skream.

This is a huge release for Spearhead Records and for the 36th release BCee has signed two tracks from Jonny L who is no stranger to the drum and bass scence! Back in 1992 he signed to the legendary XL Record label and released two highly successful albums. If you like Jonny L's dark and electro-influenced sound then you'll love this release.

Batty Knee Dance brings ultra syncopated 808s, neurotic synths and a mournful vocal refrain together in a tightly packaged low drag configuration.
