When legendary Drum and Bass pioneers, Bad Company UK and the equally pioneering twenty-five-year strong RAM Records joined ranks, it was clear the consequences would be historic. Both have spent decades helming the drum & bass genre, becoming a definitive part of its fabric. The most recent chapter of the story began when Bad Company UK made a welcome return in 2016, which led to them signing exclusively to the RAM Records imprint. Longstanding fans and new listeners alike have been treated with brand new music; from their remix of the Prodigy's The Day is My Enemy, to their standalone singles Equilibrium, Nomad and Tetris. Tetris provides a nod to the sound which made Bad Company UK so infamous whilst bringing the 2017 flavour. Following an extensive worldwide tour, which saw them take their sound across Europe and the USA, as well as Japan and New Zealand, D Bridge, Fresh, Maldiniand Vegas aka Bad Company UK breaks the commercial stereotype yet again with Primal Fire, whilst utilising the emotive vocals of featured vocalist Sitka, and these two tracks demonstrate yet again how Bad Company UK are continuing to burn the flame as brightly as ever.

Basement Records is really excited to announce the relaunch of it's sister label Precious Material Label. The label originally ran from 1994 to 1997 and won critical acclaim for a series of releases including the outstanding Icons (Blame & Justice) Projects, Jazz Juice Detroit, Brothers With Soul, Nautilus and Tony Justice Headhunter releases to name but a few. The label was known for its deep luscious Jazz, Deep Techno and Rare Groove inspired releases.

This new album continues on the same thread and has been receiving great reviews. The album features exclusive tracks, some tracks that were only released digitally and an unreleased remix of the classic "Jazz Juice" track "Detroit" by DJ Lee.

The project will be released as a 4 x 12" Album with a double CD featuring a mix by DJNibers aka Andrea Nibbers & Ben.

Zero Sum is a track that has become a stone cold classic. Its timeless sound and feel, is up there with tracks that form the golden era of Jungle .Available for the first time on 10" vinyl, Sully has worked his magic on this release.

Moscow based multi-talent Impish presents the Hush LP, his latest album project that will be released through all quality physical electronic music outlets around the world October 20. Working through labels such as ProgRAM, C.I.A. and his own fast rising Occulti Music imprint Impish is quickly establishing a name for himself in the global drum & bass scene. In a world that consumes more and more music in a superficial way Impish manages to take a halt on the Hush LP with timeless songwriting, arrangement and production inspired by live music and drum work. From effortlessly rolling tracks such as Can't Feel and Shadows towards more introspective vibes on Changing Colours and the LP's title track a common thread runs clearly throughout the album: the aim for perfection, true craftmanship and a drive to combine to high-quality beats and breaks with musical elements. To aid the budding artist in spreading his ethos UK based female vocalist Kate Wild and Irish drum & bass producer Zero T feature on the album for vocal appearances and remix work.

Sicknote, J Bionic and Dissect are back with the third Volume in the Paws Recordings series.

Moscow based multi-talent Impish has been steadily honing his skills since 2013 working through labels such as ProgRAM, Fokuz Recordings and his own fast rising Occulti Music imprint. It's that last label that saw him release the critically acclaimed Silence LP back in 2016. Fast forward to the summer of 2017 and a new album project the Hush LP is set for release through all quality physical electronic music outlets around the world.

Being the perfectionist that he is Impish continues to impress working on crystal clear music productions where impeccable drumwork is combined with organic touches and progressions. This album sampler which features the two tracks Can't Feel and That's Right is no different: it's written on the fine line where driving beats for the dance floor meet harmonies for the mind and soul.

Roni Size's 1997 Mercury Music winning classic New Forms gets a fresh rewind some twenty years since it first landed and blew drum & bass into the mainstream.
A staple of many late '90s ravers listening habits, New Forms' blend of jazzy jungle with a hip-hop feel and sensibility saw Roni Size instantly propelled to the status of instant legend within the DNB community.A product of his hometown of Bristol, New Forms seemingly crossed the DNA of Bristol dub ala Smith & Mighty, the stoned roll of Tricky and Massive Attack and the hyper-sharp breaks 'n' beats of Size, DJ Krust and DJ Die's Full Cycle Recordings.

Wah Wah 45s are very proud to announce their first foray into the format of the future-retro fan - the cassette. And who better to deliver our debut release on this cult medium, than our very own electronic beat makers and hip hop nerds, Paper Tiger. Over the last four years, the Leeds and London based crew have been quietly pasting together some of the more interesting and subversive off-cuts and live interludes that were recorded around their two LP releases.

In 2013 Paper Tiger released their long awaited debut album Laptop Suntan on Wah Wah 45s. After a collection of head-turning EPs, featuring collaborations with leftfield electronic and hip-hop artists including Foreign Beggars, Homeboy Sandman, Joshua Idehen, Archie Pelago and more, the time for their full-length project finally arrived. In order to whet the listener's appetite for this stunning debut long-player, Wah Wah 45s shared the first instalment of Sonic Boom Head Zoom, a glimpse of the full Paper Tiger live band in action. With hints of what you would experience on the record, plus exclusive bonus material, this twenty-minute live digital beat tape was by turns hypnotically head-nodding, experimental and downright hilarious (shout out to all Emmerdale lovers).

In the words of the band's electronics expert and woodwind player Greg Surmacz: "As we were completing our album, we came up with the idea of recording some live interludes - our live band set-up and instrumental recording/sampling are a big part of what we do and we wanted to give a proper nod to that on the record.

We set up in a studio without much of a plan and ended up recording a few hours of jamming - all live, all completely improvised on the fly. There was an abundance of material, some of which we will sample and develop into fully-fledged tunes, but we thought it'd be nice to compile a short mix-tape of some of the highlights. You can also hear the album's interludes in their original context."

In the autumn of 2013, the band went on to release a remix record, Sultan Ant Pop. As well as receiving contributions from some of their favourite producers (LV, Werkha, Murder He Wrote, Bambooman and more), they decided to record more brand new music to mould it into a coherent listening experience.

As a result, Sonic Boom Head Zoom 2 was born. Clocking in at over 30 minutes, it was a deeper, darker and weirder affair than its predecessor despite being produced in the same way - 100% live, totally improvised and recorded in a single day. There were head-nodding grooves, bizarre and hilarious rhymes from MC Raphael Attar, space-jazz excursions and much more.

After a short hiatus, in 2015 Paper Tiger began work on their second album, Blast Off. Having grown in confidence and stature as a live band, they were keen to fully integrate their live sound into the new record. They spent a day at their regular spot in Leeds, ATA Studios, and recorded over five hours' worth of ideas, sketches and improvisation.

They ended up with an abundance of material, some of which was incorporated into the sound of Blast Off. However, there was still plenty of music left over to compile a new entry in their live mix-tape series. Clocking in at around 30 minutes, Sonic Boom Head Zoom 3 retains the SBHZ premise - 100% live, totally improvised and recorded in a single day - but is more adventurous and diverse than ever. There's everything from Krautrock to neo-soul in there, non-sequiturs aplenty from MC Raphael Attar and the usual leftfield beat music.

In late 2015 Paper Tiger went back into the studio in order to capitalise on the creative momentum from the Blast Off project. As with previous sessions at their regular home of ATA Studios, there was a wealth of material generated from a single day of recording. Much of this provided the starting point for what will become their third album, due for release in 2018, but in anticipation of that they gave us Sonic Boom Head Zoom 4.

Like previous volumes, SBHZ4 is a beat tape made up of live jams, totally improvised and recorded in a single day. This latest set is stuffed full of head-nodding, off-kilter rap beats full of natural swing and groove that you only get with the tightest rhythm sections, pushed into left-field with squiggly synths, curveball sample choices and stoopid-smart similes from MC Raphael Attar. While more focused than the last edition, it's still not averse to the odd jazz freak-out. Just don't mention Whiplash...

The Sonic Boom Head Zoom double-cassette brings all four mix-tapes together on in one place for the first time and is released in limited numbers on November 10th 2017.

Bjarki's not a fan of boxes - in fact, if you try putting him in one and he'll gleefully jump out and stamp all over it. In 2015 you probably had him pegged as a techno artist, but in 2016 he confounded everyone's expectations of his musical path (surprise breakout hit of the year followed by big room appearances playing the aforementioned hit at every set..). And instead he released three widely praised LPs ' Lefhanded Fuqs Æ' that mapped out a broad musical landscape for him - one that runs from ice cold ambient soundscapes, through melodic techno, exuberant breakbeat and on toclassic rave. His final release of 2016 'Fresh Jive' placed him firmly leading the pack of artists who in the past few years have set about re-moulding the scent of breakbeat, rave, jungle and IDM into sounds that are entirely their own.
In 2017 Bjarki opens up a record label with his childhood friend Johnny ChromeSilver, bbbbbb Records.
'My Inspiration' is a classic breakbeat jungle track, written by Floyd Dice and Acen as X-Static, originally released in1992 on Production House Records. For the new release, the B-side includes an additional version by Bjarki that was mouth-wateringly teased to the general public on last years. Trip 2 Iceland video. Bjarki's 'Sweetest Thing' Version revs up the pads, melody and vocal of the original into a spine tingling, brooding and insanely addictive bass heavy breakbeat roller.
The launch celebration for bbbbbb takes place on a trawler in Iceland in February - brrrrrrrrrrr.

The new 'Alone With Everybody' EP by Drum & Bass connoisseur FD firmly solidifies his earned seat in the upper echelons of the Drum & Bass scene. The epic nine-tracker showcases a new dimension to his sound, having already gained the trust of many essential labels in the past. Serious work has been released over the course of years, producing a balanced catalogue of what FD stands for. This persistent output has grown in both reputation and depth and tells the story of a man dedicated to keeping close to his musical vision.

A veteran producer and DJ in the scene for more than a decade, FD has the ears of a true tastemaker, an artist and curator that understands his audience. Each piece of music has been created with his highly self-critical approach and scrutiny, bringing the best to the fore on this anticipated new body of work.

From the iconic intro with Jazz T, all the way to the closing track 'This Is Now' the EP speaks a solid sonic language with a confident yet emotion and energy-driven tone-of-voice. The collaboration with Manchester-based 'OG' Fox for example highlights FD as a forward-thinking musician who embraces both roots and culture of his loved genre.

It is not a coincidence that FD releases his new work on Lenzman's The North Quarter imprint, a new home for a growing scene of matured musicians still leaving their traces on a Drum & Bass tempo. Taking the initials of his real name tells us that FD keeps close to what he stands for and who he is, directly in tune with the NQ's mission.

Astrophonica welcomes Lewis James to the fold with the Shapeshifter EP. A professional sound designer and life long musician, London-based Lewis James first appeared on the label via the Gradients compilation in early 2017. With this EP he celebrates his love of jungle and drum & bass across four tracks that combine analogue and digital processes to create what he calls, "a spaced out identity, somewhere between science fiction and the dancefloor."

The title track opens with a wide, cinematic and laid back feel -- floating arpeggios, processed guitars and bowed viol, effected vocals -- before living up to its name with a subtle switch towards tougher, rhythm driven movement. "Ferro" picks up the action further with an homage to the classic drum & bass formula of combining starkly different moods between the intro and the core of the track. Here it all begins with a bright, lush opening, a gradual walk into the light before descending into the pits of a smoky, 3am dancefloor with punchy breaks and a call and response between rubbery bass and grinding synth lines. Come back up for breath halfway through and then dive in again.

On the B side, "Your Love Is A Power" aims for the sweet spot between classic jungle rinse out and catchy, ear-worm pop. Built around a beautiful vocal performance from Dan Dans K, the track marries the energy of jungle -- the simplicity of an amen smashed over a reece bass -- with the emotional power of a top 40 pop song. It's simple but highly effective. The EP closes on a high note with "Turbo", a punishing beatdown of 808 drums and acid melodies with enough switches to keep the most adventurous of listeners of their toes.

With the Shapeshifter EP, Astrophonica continues its exploration of cosmic electronic music. All four tracks display the evident love Lewis James has for the possibilities offered by the 160-170 tempo alongside a fascinating attention to detail and an ear for brilliant, cinematic moments.

UK duo Conduct, (AKA Robin Andrews & Chris Edwards), unveil their brand-new 12-track LP 'Oma'.

Following their critically acclaimed 2016 debut album, 'Borderlands', which was nominated for 'Best Album' in DJ Mag's annual awards, Conduct's highly-anticipated second major work is set to drop on 13th October via Blu Mar Ten Music.

'Oma' is an immense piece of work, taking its sonic cues from 'Borderlands' while expanding them into far wilder territories. Organic clashes with electronic in a whirlpool of tribal head banging, fragile introspection and beautiful sonic architecture. Skittering rhythms, rock solid basses, angelic vocals and heartbreaking instrumentation are guaranteed to make 'Oma' one of the most notable drum & bass albums of 2017 and Conduct one of its prominent acts.

Striving to show the world what can be achieved at 170 beats per minute, Conduct's palette is a dramatic juxtaposition between electronic and acoustic instrumentation, with a cinematic approach to composition influenced by the likes of Hans Zimmer and Jesper Kyd. While it's common for drum & bass producers to concentrate on dance-floor impact, Conduct's primary focus is the evocation of an emotional response in the listener, creating a body of work that lasts far beyond the club.

Between them, Conduct have a rich and diverse musical history, from playing live in extreme metal, be-bop and jazz bands, to the delicate nuances of digital sound design. This tapestry of experience is reflected not only in their studio production but also in their dynamic, widescreen DJ sets, which range from the sub sonically deep to the beautifully soulful and the fearsomely technical. These skills have recently seen them shell down venues across the UK and Europe including fabric's legendary Room 1 alongside Friction, Netsky & Loadstar.

Having recently completed our nine part Project Mohawk series, Broken Audio return with a new release concept that once again raises the bar, both in terms of quality beats and the physical format they arrive on.

John Rolodex is not a new name to drum & bass headz. A time served pioneer of the Canadian D&B scene, his music has already featured on a slew of quality labels, such as Metalheadz, Hospital, V Recordings, Dread, Tech Itch and his own excellent Machinist imprint to name but a few. A producer that's not afraid to cut his own path rather than following the conventions of others, he steps up for his debut release on Broken Audio with two tracks aimed squarely at the dance floor.

Leading off we have 'Oil Drum'. Like an 808 driven monster rising from the depths, Rolodex serves up one of those left of centre tunes you'll often hear around 3am in a club that leaves you thinking 'what the f*ck'..! Honed with a background of near techno militancy and industrialism, it's a stand out track for those seeking a fresh angle to move a crowd.

Hot on the flip is 'Pixel Demon'. Almost a tribute to a bygone skill, Rolodex serves up his take on the classic bassline roller, sub laden, crisp breaks, full of energy, but all delivered with that trademark grit that marks it out as a track by an innovator rather than an imitator.

This is the first release in our new Illuminati series. Each comes with a limited edition & stickered 12" pale glow fluorescent vinyl, translucent by day, an eerie glowing white by night. A download card is also included with each EP purchase, providing free access to the full digital release once it goes live two weeks later.

Thus far, 1985 Music has boasted a number of releases as the new home of its founder, Alix Perez. It is with the release of this EP where 1985 Music present themselves as a platform for new talent. Perez's vision for 1985 is ...to push and support good, forward thinking music that I believe represents the focus of 1985..'. It is with this in mind that we proudly present the 'Hold Me Back' EP from Toulouse's finest - Monty. Monty has already had support from Noisia, Kasra and Skeptical and can boast releases of singles on Critical Music and Invisible Recordings. This 4 track EP is mature and refreshing, and has been received well whenever played out. The music is dark, dynamic, minimal and refreshingly modern.

Agressor Bunx have been setting the standard recently. Whether it's on seminal drum & bass imprint Ram Records, or the underground torch holder Eatbrain, they've settled themselves within the discography of every major label running the game. And they're about to return with four fresh cuts which bring some serious heat, once again platforming the cut throat sound which has made them so infamous.
'The Curse' EP, out on innovative imprint Ignescent Records, stands as both a pivotal release for both artist and label. Founded in 2015, they're beginning to push their way into a league with the heavyweights and with the
help of Agressor Bunx, it's not difficult to see why. Already making their mark with Ukrainian underground figures such as NickBee, Ignescent have slowly been refining their sound; this next title proves their stature.
Title-track 'The Curse' throws you synapses first through a wormhole of fury, featuring a soundtrack of mean bass and crispy drums. With a hook that grabs you on first listen, it accelerates during the intro before allowing you to freefall through constructed chaos. Dirty, dark and filled with neurofunk vibes, it exposes a production standard which has ensured their notoriety. Next up, 'Scream' shadows the same pattern, cranking up the gears and taking you into even shadier depths. However, instead throwing out an incessant hook, its thrashing drum patterns drag you through an arrangement heightened by each break. Agressor Bunx punches through to your musical receptors, taking them hostage and leaving you unable to escape their grasp.
Reminiscing on the older times, 'Deja vu' follows suit. Steeped in jungle-esque breakdowns, it's different from the vast range of production they've showcased. With precise form, they hit again and again with seismic results. Growling reeses pedal you even further into the fire, letting their deadly intentions take hold. And finally, comes 'Overwatch'.. Its stabs and blaring subs stand out clearly, gradually building a foundation of infallible weight. They revert yet again to a style which reciprocates the old school, showing that despite their contemporary reign over neuro, they're also well read on their history. It's this background which has enabled them to surge forward, a movement which isn't looking to be stopped anytime soon.

S.P.Y has been prolific of late returning to the vanguard of the drum & bass circuit with his 'Alone In The Dark' trilogy. He's a man-turned-machine, firing out bass weapons from his Bristolian treasurecave of synths throughout 2017 all leading up to the final chapter, EP:3. Opening track 'Transmission' is ready to cause disorder. Turning vocal hums into premium merkage with a deadly cocktail of percussion and electrostatic bassline that prove to be all the ingredients required for the ultimate floorfiller.Dominator Mode' is a primal tech-stepper, bringing classically rugged drum & bass stylings well and truly into the contemporary realm. Rustic and tribal with a distorted vocal sample sitting top, manufactures a truly dystopian audio atmosphere. We all dare to dream but S.P.Y appears to bring these feint fantasies into reality. Reaching for his alter-ego classic liquid movements, the pertinently named 'Dreaming' pictures a cosmic landscape with astral synths, a majestic key-lead hook, distant vocals and wistful melodies.
Now it wouldn't be a S.P.Y release without that signature grit. Fear not, this is delivered in 'Hardcore Harry'. Latin chic breaks are met by jagged sounds and the warmest of sub licks - this anthem is a wall-to-wall banger. Equally, there's the full flux of 'Lockdown' with sci-fi bleeps and wired rhythms that follow an up front lyrical injection before the climactic drop.
They say three's a crowd but they couldn't be more wrong with S.P.Y seeing his 'Alone In The Dark' trilogy off this October and ending on a high.

Longtime favourite Mutt returns to Fokuz Recordings with the Sinnerman EP featuring Tedder. On the A side we find ''Right & Wrong''. a dub infused roller with classic dubby vocal cuts and FX. On the flip the EP's title track brings forward a classic two step rhythm which underlines an iconic sample.

Voltage is another new name to release on Metalheadz in 2017, and is somebody who has already shown incredible talent across the full spectrum of drum and bass.

For his 'Mood Swings EP' Voltage flashes between moments of liquid heaven whilst managing to retain aspects of the grittiness he's become known for. The full 5 track package is one that's set out to surprise, and does so with extreme elegance.
