Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

As we build up a head of stream moving into the summer months, we turn our attentions firmly to the dance-floor with two bass-heavy hitters from Subterra. Those of you familiar with the Guildford residing DJ / Producer / promoter will already be well aware of his drum & bass pedigree. Clocking up releases on Ram's subsidary label Frequency as well as Dispatch and Sudden Def Subterra has a staunch following that regularly attend his Rotation events across the south east of England. 'Gutter Mouth' is as dirty as the title suggests. Swirling pads and percussion build the suspense before an explosion of contorted bass sounds and snappy high end beats. 'Cold Shoulder' is a collaboration with long term DJ / production partner Bazil. With it's warm atmospheric opening it creates a sinister mood before tearing into a stepping bass-heavy workout. DJ Support from Goldie, Jubei, Lenzman, SpectraSoul, London Elektricity & DLR & Octane.

For the live mix Zen, Killabeatz and Yvonne team up for the full vocal workout. Lush guitar licks, and drums with a real live
feel combine with the vocal to create neat years first summer anthem! One listen and youre hooked!

Heavy1 is the next big drum n bass producer from the land of Makoto, Japan. His sound is as his name already suggests HEAVY.

The production duo of Dual Process, AKA DJ Java and DJ Ben J, have been in the drum & bass scene since before it was being called 'The drum & bass scene'. Initially as ravers, then DJs, and now as producers, they have been witness to the progression of the various sub genres that are now present in today's spectrum of drum & bass music. After releases individually and collectively on several different labels Dual Process are ready to launch their own label aimed at the particular sub genre that they have successfully played in raves, clubs and on radio for the last few years.Straight up, dance floor, jump up is what's going to be on offer from Audio Hostage Records, and to kick things off we have two heavy slices of face churning, bass ridden, ignorance capable of setting MC's to self destruct and levelling any sound system. The A. side DRUGS is inspired by the Essex gangster scene that emerged around the early days of rave music. The eerie bleeped out intro soon leads on to brain twisting pulsation of gurgling, stuttering basslines and, for just a few bars, some dubstep breaks to make sure the substance takes hold. Remember, too much of a good thing can be dangerous. The AA. side THUGS is a little more funky but still with a hard edge. Drawing on influences from gangster rap, the bouncy bassline and bongos are backed up with police sirens, gunshots and sporadic hip hop lyrics. Something for the thugs to bounce to but still heavy enough to test any system. Both tracks ore getting heavy support from a range of DJs and radio stations such as, Hype, Crissy Criss, Taxman, Nicky Black Market, Brockie, SS, Jack Frost, Ash Attack, Hoodlum, Logan D, Profile, Pappa G, Vital Elements, Spice, Origin FM and Kool FM.

Citrus presents the third part of the remixes series. After the HUGE succes of the SICKNESS remix by ZERO METHOD that was at number 1 at the Beatport drum'n bass charts and the second part by Subsonik we now move on to the third part. This part sees Quadrant and Dabs remixing eachothers favourite tracks. Only Mortal is the first Quadrant release on CITRUS028 which was a big underground neuro hit back in 2007. The epic intro of the original is the main theme of the song and now with an even more emotional vibe. The great editing of beats and stabs by DABS makes this another neuro stomper that fits well into the 2011 sound. The original of Crawler by DABS is a digital only release on Citrus in 2009. The original holds a crazy neuro bassline and furious stepping beats making it a fast paced tune. For the remix however QUADRANT completely stripped the original and turned it into a minimalistic roller! Great touch of the original edits which are there and completely rebuild. A subtle tune for the serious beats lovers.

After countless enquiries from fans requesting the VIP mixes of 'Extreme Mutilation' and 'Killing Machine' to be released we are happy to offer you the chance of picking up these ridiculously tight mixes. Algorythm are known for putting out some of the filthiest beats right now and the buzz on these tracks have been getting us all excited. One word sums up this release and that's disgusting.

With releases on Metalheadz, Good Looking Records and Reinforced to name as few, Peshay is also one of the few 90s D&B producers to find success with the majors on his 1999 Island Records album 'Miles From Home' - widely regarded as a landmark album within the genre.

Sensai is on fire right now and he's got releases coming out all over the place. Foundation pin him down and sign these lashing jump up tracks which have been getting rinsed by everyone. We've also heard some more of Sensai's un-signed tracks and he's got a big 2011 lined up.

Spearhead Records is one of the most respected and loved labels in the scene, not only because of the quality of the music that is released but because everyone loves and respects the label owner, BCee. This mix CD has not been manufactured to make the label money, it's been complied to support a charity in Ibiza called 24-7 and all profit are going to them.

ap Ho is really smashing up the scene right now with its infectious "Tap Tap Tap Tap HO" vocal every DJ in the scene seems to be repping this! Try and go out to a drum and bass night with a headliner and not hearing it. Its not that radio1 sound its not that 1xtra sound its underground!!

Camberley based producer Vital Elements teams up with Turbo Promotions head honcho Ruffride, to roll out two slices of heavy jump up Drum and Bass. 'Dizzle' and 'Invasion' are really well produced and as ever the mix downs are fat. I've heard this riddim out on a system and it got instantly rewound.

Spearhead have had a great year so far and this next release just goes to show that label manager BCee is still on top of the game. Friction and K-Tee jump on the buttons to remix BCee and S.P.Y's 'Is Anybody Out There' to maximum effect. On the flip one of our favourite producers of the moment Metrik remixes 'Diagnosis Murder' putting his own stamp on this already popular release.

We're really excited about this new label which is the brain child of Benny Page. This release features Top Cat and it's been getting rinsed by everyone. Also watch out for the next releases as they're sick!

Brazilian producer Bungle delivers this amazingly produced album which touches on every side of Drum and Bass and is sure to inspire any producer out there. Bungle has had a few releases on Spearhead in the past but this tops the lot. You can always rely on this label for top quality music so Spearhead, we salute you.

Hailing from the US, Section 8 records have handed picked this strong 12" from berlins very own Current Value. Hard hitting beats and clattering basslines this 12" is sure to give you nose bleed and get your neighbours knocking on your door telling you to ''turn that bloody music down!''

Current Value steps up with probably the two most anticipated tracks to be released on Subviolenz to date 'HITMAN & TARGET' Two awesome cuts of brutal percussive mayhem controlled and manipulated by the owner of this genre..

Horror' on the flip, screeches into view with an almighty attitude and a set of subs that threaten to knock you off your feet. A bloodcurdling bassline and immensely scary synth leads punctuate the intro with a call and response formula that's impossible to resist. By the time the drop comes everyone will be reaching for the reload as DC Breaks' signature strong drums and weighty bass notes hit home. Pure mayhem, guaranteed!

2010 is again turning out to be a massive year for Viper Recordings. First release of 2010, the 'Halo EP' by DC Breaks, repeated the success of last years 'Acts OF Mad Men LP' in being hammered across clubs and radio alike. For this, the labels next release, some of Viper Recordings newer signings in the shape of Camo & Krooked, Inside Info and Delta Heavy, line up alongside label boss Futurebound for Parts 3 + 4 of 'The Headroom EP'.

This is an import from Spain and it's a stinking little Ragga Jungle roller. We warn you though because this is a limited press and it's likely to sell quickly so get your orders in.

London based Guv has hit the spot with this release and it's been getting played everywhere. We love it when a tune comes along which we're all hyped about and 'Don't Push Me' is one of them tunes. All the big DJ's are on this one and as soon as you hear the drop you'll see why. Subway Sounds does it again by putting out quality ground breaking jump up.
