Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

This EP brings you the flavours of 1989-92 when the underground scene was changing from hardcore and the beginning of Junglism. These 4 tracks of gems from Noise Factory rom Ibiza's back catalogue showcases their musical impact and progression from the start of the rave scene...

A.Box Bass: This track made in 1989-90 was the 2nd release by Ibiza Crew which then changed to Noise Factory in the early days of the label. It was a game changer with that one finger bassline that shook windows n doors LITERALLY…

We're a sucker for a supervillain/hero here at 7th Storey Projects (please see Globex Corp & Peter Darker if you want to try and dispute this claim) - so it made sense to join forces with the mighty Flex Luthor for an EP of wonderously lo-fi jungly crunchiness...just how we like it!

Four tracks of dread bass, complex and crunchy breaks and generalised jungle naughtiness that should offer something for everyone, and if not, then you might need to consider the possibility that maybe you don't like jungle that much in the first place.

Splatter Vinyl

K Records is a place for the innovative and unusual, but in this case, it’s the place for one of the most interesting and exciting releases this year. Knuckels a relatively new artist, takes the old skool formula, pulls it to pieces, rebuilds it and gives it a brand new shine with this incredible EP. Full to the brim of new ideas and styles but maintaining the old skool ethic and sound, this is an unmissable slice of wax. Hence the unmissable artwork and splatter vinyl!

Dunk is well known for his productions as ½ of the renowned Jam Thieves Playaz. Now the Sao Paolo based artist is fully focused on his solo career and has provided Liondub with a 4 track EP, specifically made for vinyl, that pushes the boundaries of his experience in DnB. This is deep, hard hitting, rolling drum and bass guided by new ideas from an artist exploring music outside of his comfort zone. With recent releases on Sofa Sounds, Subliminal and Chronic, Dunk is thriving as a producer on his own, and it can be heard clearly on the “True Funk” EP.

From a stylistic perspective, all bets are off as modernist bass music bowls forward with its sights on the dance. Over the past three years, J-Shadow has embodied that ethic more than most with a hybridised flex snapping fluidly between lurid grime waveforms, rave-indebted structures and hi-tech sound design. A perfect fit for Sneaker Social Club’s own omnivorous tendencies, then.

An Exact Science is a fantasy of long time ASC fans have had for many years (ourselves included) come to life with results that surpass our imagined results.

The new sub-label from WNCL Recordings features 12 short “tools” per release, for use on discotheque sound systems and home stereos alike. Released on 10” vinyl with digital to follow at a later date.

Denham Audio – the next generation of breakbeat scientists from the land of bleep and clonk – take some time out from their world domination plans to grace the Library Tool Kit series with an essential collection of heavy duty miniatures.

Fresh from a release on the legendary Metalheadz imprint, Friske returns to his very own Requisite Music label for release number three and a brand new two track single.

'MESSAGE FROM THE PARAZONE' is a various artist compilation album that marks the 10th release of Parallax Recordings.

Seekersinternational sends dub into another dimension, a place where the laws of physics appear irrelevant. Formerly solid structures are made improbable and surreal; songs become dizzying, recursive mazes. But for all this weirdness, the Canadian producer has generally hung onto dub's loved-up feel.

The Pianism EP was originally produced by Rob Haigh in 1993 under the alias ‘Splice’ on PM Recordings (Parliament Music) PMT 015 - Pianism E.P (Enter The Light). This original vinyl cut in 1993 had seven original piano breaks, as Rob described these were meant to be for DJ use. Strangely no one ever sampled these and made a new tune !? (Or at least we can’t find one!). Last year in 2020 we remixed these 3 tunes and added one unreleased tune with Syko and Rob on BSBR003 as VOL.1.

Classic and sought after quick fire Hardcore Jungle Techno 4 tracker, remastered and pressed to both Ltd Edition Colour and Black vinyl by The Music Preservation Society

With unknown destination the flamingo sets of, and so does she. Movement is the first release on the freshly launched Moefment label and it's a very versatile one.Dutch DJ and producer zOoTiMe's vinyl debut molds drums, sacred hymns, animals, flutes and rhythms together into an equitorial orientated experience. Combining eight own productions aswell as two edited works, the LP displays a surprising variety of styles and tempo. Key is an organic, somewhat psychedelic and in times primitive feel, as if all evolved in the middle of a bustling jungle. Trip!

By now it’s common knowledge that Etch is one of the brightest sparks working in the field of contemporary breakbeat mangling. The Brighton-based producer has the depth of knowledge about breaks, and the expressive affinity for how to slice and rearrange them, to rank among some of the greats. We’re talking Photek, Paradox, Source Direct levels of drum science here. Of course he’s more than just a break slicer too – look no further than last year’s Strange Days LP on Seagrave for a more widescreen angle on the Etch sound.

Further skirmishes at the Tosche Station from Planet Mu label boss Mike Paradinas, whose first Tusken Raiders EP on Clear Records 25 years ago brought an infinitely more-dusty-than-digital vibe, delivering a rugged, electro-infused uptake of the type of battered machine funk produced and enjoyed by Tatooine's indigenous, Bantha-riding tribespeople.

Hailing from the latter part of Mike's 'Lunatic Harness' sessions in 1998, these 8 previously unreleased, largely-breakbeat tracks deliver a salvo of scuffed sonic rinse outs and mutant house jams from a figure who has done so much to bring about and support experimental electronica, breakcore and footwork scenes over the past three decades.

Moving into 2021 Pure Space is excited to deliver another year of Australian electronic music. Lately we’ve found therapy through regular body movement to help us see that better days are ahead. We hope you feel this too with this new release…

For our first release of the year, Melbourne’s Third Space captures his most club-focussed exploration to date. It offers a broad path which melts genres, instead showing us an alternate domain.

Having started his own label ‘Nice Setting’ in 2020 and self-releasing an album and an EP, Third Space has established his sound of complex undulating rhythms. For his release on Pure Space, ‘Pattern of Spring’ continues this exploration of dramatic structures with continually shifting timbres - morphing them as they progress through energies, rumbles, and struck surfaces.

The two A-side tracks are powerful displays of organic instrumentation with fluttering pads and subtle resonations. An upbeat tempo and abright atmosphere underpins the opening side, anchored by dnb leaning programming and off-kilter polymetric rhythms.

‘170 Shitshow’ showcases complex percussion underwritten by a formidable resonating karplus-strong section throughout the track. Whilst ‘Pulsing Delay Mod’ builds upon this notion of polymetric rhythms continually at play with one another, it offers a crisp and menacing drum pattern pulsating amongst metallic timbres.

Flipping to the B-sides; ‘Cyclical Pan Workout’ reflects an unruly and evolving atmosphere, anchored by a wonderfully cerebral drum pattern and delicate pad toward the close.

The final track ‘Nonlinear (For Pillows)’ offers re-contextualised melodies and percussion, providing a sense of closure and sonic bookending by linking tones and timbres referenced throughout the EP into a pillow like state.

The third of Breaka’s self-releases sees collaborations between himself, known-associate Frazer Ray, and brother Bakey.

After Edge of reality from DVLVCRVZ, Jupiter4 continue the Texas-Berlin connection signing DJ Akoza, owner of legendary DOOMSHOP records and known for being one of the sharpest beat makers on the scene right now. DOG U OUT EP is a remastered selection from recent works of the artist combined with 3 dance club music remixes from Cyan85, DJ Normal 4 and MUTANT JOE that goes from Electro, Detroit bass to Breaks and Jungle.

4 stand-out tracks taken from Parly B’s “Hot Like Fire Chapter 1” LP. The revered UK reggae star was established for his unique style and due to releases on Mungo’s Hi-Fi, Reggae Roast, Serial Killaz, and Born On Road, as well as continuous airplay from radio legends David Rodigan and Don Letts. Liondub and Parly gathered an ultra-talented cast of artists and producers to craft an album that brilliantly fuses the Yorkshire based artists’ unique reggae sound with powerful, modern, and timeless Jungle Drum and Bass music.

* Worldwide Epidemik lands on Knitebreed and fulfills every expectation one might have had. Already a well known name in the Jungle Techno circles, his carefully constructed soundscapes evoke both the deep past and the unknown future, with rolling beats and deep basslines that skate across your mind and reverberate in your soul.

INTEASE 0102 is the result of the first two Intease Contest. The idea is that a sponsor imposes tracks / samples on competitors / producers and they do what they want and produce a track at the end. Then the jury makes a preselection and the producer community votes for their favorites.

So here we have the first 2 Mézigue Sponsors as well as Oden & Fatzo. And the 2 winners of the 2 contests.

An absolute underground classic, Phat & Phuturistic remains both things after all these years. A deep slice of moody bass and sinister drums with a keen eye on a futuristic sound, the years have only reinforced how strong this EP is. Remastered from DAT for your enjoyment, this one is gonna fly out…

Releasing jungle records for over 2 decades, DJ K is a well-known name when it comes to upfront jungle music. Combining the energy of drum & bass but maintaining the organic original oldschool vibe, K's signature style which originated in the North American jungle movement of the early 2000's is unmistakable on dancefloors in Europe and across the world. From anthems to steppers to tearout rollers, his sharp-cut amens and forward-moving bass lines always get the crowd moving. Which makes having a DJ K record an essential tool in every DJ's crate.

Out Of Romford continues its run of classic remasters and remixes with this amazing proto-jungle EP. Featuring new remixes from New Decade and Liftin Spirits, its an unmissable slice of the original sound. Rolling beats and heavy bass laced with potent atmospherics are the name of the game, and it is played at its finest here….

Sometimes words to describe artists are overused, not in this case, the original Junglists are back with some conscious dancefloor heat, with an E.P. that is both thought provoking while making you to dance.

4 tracks deep of Jungle, D&B, Breakbeat, Bass music pressure, that looks forward while looking back.

* Hectic is one of the greatest old skool labels and after the success of the represses, new remixes were inevitable. We have pulled out all the stops here with remixers such as Luna-C, Pete Cannon, Beeno and Nicky Allen all showing how to do new mixes of classic tunes without compromising the sound or integrity of the original huge choons! A big release!
