Taking inspiration from UKG, jungle, breaks and house, this release brings the quintessential sounds of rave culture into 2020, showcasing the Kyoto- based producer’s ability to regenerate the genres that define UK clubland.

Still transmitting from Lockdown in the UK. Banoffee Pies Records 14th release in the original series comes from London based ANGEL D'LITE. A deep passion for rave and NRG with an established high-octane approach to music, heavily influenced by hardcore and early pop bangers, her debut EP further reflecting this mood. Three heavy club tracks and a broken beat dubbed remix from JAY to round things off.

The A side is laced with harmonic 90's vocals and euphoric trance synth lines with two versions of "CRYSTALZ". The original, heavily packed with punching drum patterns and UK hardcore builds, followed neatly by the "DIAMANTÈ MIX". A nostalgic UK Garage take with building pads and rolling hats, partnered by murmuring emotional vocals. Perfect late night club fodder.

The B side flips the mood with "DANCE LIKE DOLPHIN" - the original version setting the tone for early AM adventures. Junglists, sonic communications and club lazers setting in throughout the growing euphoric 90's blends, aquatic frequencies and swirling sub bass. The remix from JAY, another London based producer, follows with an energy shift to a more minimal and rough edged depth of textures and colour, with splatters of surprise elements throughout. Australia’s Consulate (1/2 of Senate) brings his dark mix of
techno, jungle and UK Garage to Bitterfeld for their 5th release.

Rudimentary debuts for Itoa and Crypticz as they combine to producer a solid 4 track dub, techno, footwork, ghetto
inspired drum n bass 12”.

Alex Godoy (Itoa) and Jordan Parsons (Crypticz) couldn’t help but cross paths as both their musical influences encapsulate the continuous blur between Dubstep, Drum n Bass and footwork with Dub being the keystone to their musical arch.

Crypticz was sucked into the vortex of the uniquely punch sounds that Itoa had put out and was itching to find out more. At the same time he was pushing the foundations of his on sound, which has Dub.

Jordan (Crypticz) found himself wanting after toying with a few ideas which fell into line with a more dancehall sensibility. He felt the ideas he had, needed something else. He was struggling to put his finger on exactly what was missing, then... enter Itoa’s ‘French Cola and “Peng” releases.

Bingo! Jordans finger was now pointed at Alex’s (Itoa) irresistibly joyous drum patterns, and thought... “This guy”, with the happy egg face as a facebook profile, is the man to unlock this business. The pair hooked up and from there worked on the 31 Recordings “MTD” release for Doc Scott.

After their work together on that beast of a record they wanted to get back to it! Email tennis and facebook chats occurred for some time all the while passing bits and pieces back and fourth. Each time asking questions and encouraging the process for one another.

Street Drinker was the starting point with Alex leaving it open and sparse for Jordan to roll in with percussion. Dub techniques were leaned on to add a techno, dubstep feel to Valis.

An instructional dance video was the inspirational magic dust added to the already grounded baseline and obnoxious claps in “How it’s Done”.

Jordan admits watching too much Adventure Time was the catalyst for the humour concept of this piece. So... ’come ons', 'shake it' and '1,2,3,4' were sampled from various work out videos and the arrangement tidied up from there.

kick.

The Rotation Audio Record Label has been founded through love and dedication to electronic music. Sicknote's 'Someday' creates an emotional journey through high defined musical gestures portraying life's cycle until you eventually reach the light. Rolling drum breaks throughout the track build a progressive movement until the bassline and vocal takes hold on the drop. A belter in the form of a beauty of a track from the man like Sicknote.

Drum Cypha's 'Centaurs' is another hard hitting track. Atmospheric sustained melodies lead to rolling crunchy amens that pave way to a breakdown where the second drop lifts off and hits you right in the face. The track has a Sci Wax feel about it and is a serious club banger bound to get the crowd rolling. Amen smasher from the main man Drum Cypha.

Originally released as the A-side of The Psychology EP on Another Planet Records, with the B-side by a group called Dimension. But due to not being able to locate any of the members of Dimension for over a year, the decision was made to just release the A-side of this amazing EP and add the 1992 remix of ‘Free Your Mind’ that came out the following year on Another Planet. Since the release of this record though, Dimension have made contact with Vinyl Fanatiks and their tracks will also soon be set for releasing.

‘Free Your Mind’ is the hardcore purist’s favourite tune and light years ahead of the rest when it was originally released in 1991, 29 years ago! We at Vinyl Fanatiks are super excited to let you hear these 4 tracks together on one piece of vinyl for the first time.

Rua debutant Arcane arrives with a 4 track EP of jungle infused, bass driven goodness high on melodic content and drum intricacy. Premiered on Sherelle's BBCR1 show (31 Aug).

Title track – Labyrinth - hits that jungle funny bone from the outset, with ripplingly programmed drum flushes knitting together chimes, pads and chord progressions, all on top of 808s. For fans of Good Looking Records and Sully's modern output.

"Planet X", a collab with Samurai Breaks, provides dancefloor energy as old school jungle staples meet modern production manoeuvres. The pace here is unrelenting, the bass full frontal, and the energy undeniably soundsystem centred, while maintain the melodic signatures that tie the EP together,

"Voyages" harks back to earlier Rua Sound adventures - a collage of genres, infectious halfsteppin' beat, deep subs & refined dancefloor pressure. What feels in the early stages like a beat tape track gradually builds into a dubby, bass-driven half-stepper for the beat heads.

"Temples" moves in a more drumfunk direction. A lurking low end underpins a furious drum workout, twisting and turning through several chapters. Arcane truly showing the flexibility of his production standard here, as well as his ability to merge old & new. Fire!

Breakage returns for the fifth release on his own label Index, the aptly titled 'India November Delta Echo X-Ray' EP.

In a very short space of time, the label has become a go-to for fans and artists alike. The high-quality threshold of the label and its output has resulted in unanimous appreciation from all those listening, most notably Annie Mac who recently tweeted "Breakage. One of the best to do it."

In 1992 Diplomat and his pal Julian ‘Hellfish’ Cobb were recording for Moving Shadow under the name of Destruction Production. Not long after this release Diplomat started work on this EP, using Hellfish’s studio to mixdown the final recordings. The original release of this EP came out in 1993 on Diplomats own label, Immunity Records. This is another sought after classic piece of early UK hardcore, commanding prices of up to £100 a copy of Discogs.

After two releases on Immunity, Diplomat recorded for Bogwoppa and Deathchant throughout the 90’s before setting up his own label called Electro Avenue Records, releasing some amazing electro tracks.

Following on from his standout album on Nite Grooves, Jozef K is back with more of his underground brilliance on Lost City Archives Vol.3.

Main Phase returns to Warehouse Rave with a four tracker 12" that shows the Copenhagen native take on both 2-step, grime and breaks. The release, Cool Down EP, sees the rising garagehead Main Phase explore the murky and dark areas of 2-step with direct nods to the grime scene generals as well as early rave sounds and euphoric breaks.
