Special 12” featuring new versions of the track Fa, taken from the debut Fennesz solo album ‘Hotel Paral.lel’ (1997). 15 years after its initial release, Christian Fennesz gives this throbbing monster of a track a new seeing to, extending it and adding more of that magic he is so well known for. The album was always an exercise in exploring alternate means of hearing club based music. This new version carries that concept further.

This is backed by a cracking new mix by the ever productive Mark Fell, adding his unique beat structures, and even a MLK sample, which lends his contemporary rhythmic landscape a odd nostalgic twist.

This 12” can be seen as a warm up for the new Fennesz album, which is currently scheduled for 2013 release.

Continuing their reign over deep and technical drum and bass sets everywhere, the inimitable Spinline are back with a pair of incredible remixes from two of the scene's most wanted individuals. From the drum and bass' extremes of tar-black bass and granite-heavy rhythms, both Clarity and Stray have brought the goods for this release. But what did you expect
Clarity never minces his words when it comes to working that minimal vibe and as you'd expect Life morphs from Spinline's original into something far nastier. Dark, deep and with enough space to let that uneasy feeling roll in alongside the barely-there weave of didgeridoo bass, this is the stuff of crowded clubs and evil intentions. Clarity proves once again that he cannot be stopped. For Sundays Stray has created a different type of unease, instead opting for cut-andspliced juke flavours scattered sharp and ragged over a barely recognisable 170bpm beat. Building the tension then refreshing the track with hints at the original melody,Stray's reworking is not for the faint-hearted. For fans of skittish hi-hats and drum and bass of the heaviest, deepest kind, you'vecome to the right place.

With a reputation as one of the UK's leading labels for contemporary dubwise produce forged in the last year with releases by dub heavyweights such as Earl 16, Mungo's Hi Fi, Nick Manasseh, and RSD, Reggae Roast come with the new single from Ruben Da Silva featuring Skinnyman. 'Sensi Skank' is yet another home grown slice of hard hitting digital roots, set to shake speaker stacks across the land. Ruben Da Silva is quickly becoming a major force on the British roots scene and one of the hottest new voices in town. The beautifully distinctive tone to his vocal carries the track as he begrudges the fact that he is criminalized and forced to smoke undercover. Skinnyman, the long time outspoken advocator of the legalisation of cannabis, makes a rare but unforgettable appearance, and as ever his flow and delivery are second to none, delivering a socially analytical commentary. The dub version appears courtesy of Murray Man, a true veteran of the scene, who has been running sound systems since the '80s, his distinctive Digi-Roots production style smashing up dancefloors across the world. Finally, Placid from the Undiluted Records camp, also the home of Ed Solo and Brockie, are on remix duties and come with a hard hitting drum & bass stomper that is sure to mash up the place. Already receiving plays from junglist A-listers such as Hype (Kiss FM) and Sub Focus (Ram Records), their DnB refix sure brings some added heat to an already red hot smoking release.

Daytoner fuses live instrumentation with samples in his own unique manner chopping Latin, Soul, and Breaks into the mix. Ireland's Kormac has been releasing records as a solo artist since 2007. His debut album 'Word Play' (2010 Scribble Records) features DJ Yoda, Koaste (Black Grass,) DJ Cheeba (Solid Steel/Ninja Tune) Messiah J & The Expert and MC Little Tree. At the age of seventeen he presented and produced his own radio show on Radio Caroline moving on to Power FM while his club deejaying progressed. He's supported everyone from DJ Hype and Goldie to Grandmaster Flash and Jurassic 5's DJ Numark. Not just a wizard behind the wheels of steel, Kormac's AV sets have seen his perform in UK, Europe and Eastern Europe alongside a recent Oz tour with Portishead.

His latest release for Scribble Records sees him teaming up with old pal MC Little Tee for the ska driven 'Superhero' while the guitar and string laden 'Another Screen' is a collaboration with literary great Irvine Welsh(Trainspotting, The Acid House, Skagboys). 'Another Screen' came about when Kormac turned up on Welsh's Edinburgh doorstep with the track written especially written for him. Rather than take out a restraining order the generous author took him in, fed and watered him and sent him home with the track complete. The result is a double header of contrasting styles that prove Kormac's on a creative high.

CRISTIAN VOGEL's fourteenth album is already a classic. Every track is subtly shaped, full of nuances without
drifting into gimmickry. Every sound is effcient and precise. With THE INERTIALS, Vogel nonchalantly provides the
soundtrack for industrial wasteland. This is clubmusic beyond any genre which, while bearing the spirit of Industrial
Techno, is way above the Rave-dogma which dominated Industrial Techno during the 90s. The dark side of high end
production, as you may call it. With a great sense of distinct melody and harmony, Vogel as a producer roughs up the
digital surfaces. This is how he adds depth and body to his music, which is something a lot of techno-related produc-
tions are lacking. With CRISTIAN VOGEL, digital clarity has patina and at the same time sounds hazy.

Taster from forthcoming EP of remixes from "Into Bass & Time" f/DJ Brace's rejig of "Still A Soldier", a funky breakbeat burner, + Second Sky & Thomas Blondet's spacey steppers take on "Calvert Street Rock". These tracks exclusive to this 7".

Punto De Partida is a disco Latin track, Barkin'Soul and Paprika have worked on back in 2007 and has finally made it on vinyl as the title of Barkin'Soul single.

'I'm not a girlie-girl,' claims Madi Poncia, sitting before me with an armful of body art, a nose stud and Dr Marten boots. The founder and front person of Brighton-based punk-pop/new wave band Dear Prudence is a disarming mix of feisty noir-ish pop songstress and charming girl-next-door. At her side are Rick Ahir (guitar/backing vocals), Alexis Nunez (drums), Paul Egan (bass/backing vocals) and Andy Highmore (keyboards).

'I got into Siouxsie, The Cure, Depeche Mode at school,' Madi says. 'Everyone else was listening to chart music and I was looking for something different. Those groups struck a chord with me. Their legacies are such an inspiration.'
Madi has an extraordinary, spellbinding voice, a giant, soulful siren that crackles with heartbreak and sadness, irony and elation. Lyrically, the songs have a bittersweet, lovelorn feel, a fact that Madi ascribes to events in her personal life. 'Songwriting is a form of escape for me. I grew up in a very quiet coastal town where I'd spend hours imagining the future. As I got older songwriting also became a way of dealing with the difficulties of things like love and loss.'

Powerful and dark, their recordings have a modern, mainstream pop flavour, underpinned with a strong undercurrent of moody '80s electro. It subtly reflects other inspirations, too, such as Pulp, Blur and The Smiths, and more recently Biffy Clyro, Lower Than Atlantis and Twin Atlantic.

Clearly a band with big ambitions, Dear Prudence is named after the '80s version of the song by Madi's heroes, Siouxsie and The Banshees. 'I love Siouxsie Sioux's dark glamour and feisty attitude,' Madi explains. 'I really admire her.' Bright, bold and beautiful Madi has an endearing charm and confidence that's likely to draw a crowd of her own female admirers, as well as cement her allure for a male audience. With their debut album due and a hunger to get out on the road, 2012 looks set to be a very exciting year.
