Great to see Terminal M queen Monika Kruse teaming up with her buddies Pig&Dan again. It's been more than a year since their common single releases on Pig&Dan's label Elevate or Terminal M but the two guys from Mallorca have been very busy finishing their album, releases for Drumcode and their upcoming Space Ibiza CD. Meanwhile Monika travelled the world more than ever with her dj bag to bring the techno message to even more places.

Second Seta Label vinyl presents label friend Dj M4SH and his new EP "The Message". It takes you to the world of delayed and filtered chords, pads and arpeggiators with rolling basslines. Following noticeable releases on Tone Dropout, Art Of Dark, Overthink and Shadow Play, frenchman Daïf returns to his own imprint for LUMINAERE 002 Highways of Life. Distancing from the spacey atmosphere of the first one, this four tracker captures a personal side of Daïf’s musical identity, powerful and twisted.

On the A side, Downtown spiral sets the tone of the EP. Field with melodic pads and ear-piercing leads this 4/4 track bursts with energy. Then follows Burnout, perhaps the most complex of the four. UK garage like style, mesmerizing bass lines and pads, buckle up, you’re in for a 200 mph drive.

On the B side, Terrible Lie is a hot banger with a ravy old school flavor. Warehouse synths, cheesy vocal samples, stabby leads and melodic pads, this one is guaranteed to do some damage. Finally, closing off is Exhaust-ed, hauntingly beautiful track with powerful breaks interleaved with acid bass lines going back and forth with melodic chords.

hel.IV Came across our radar in early 2019 when a demo fell on our lap. It was the dark black honest sounds of Techno as we hadn’t heard it before.

It was hel.IV. After his debut digital EP ‘The Dagger & The Thought’, It took over the internet, It blew up. It had immediate respect and has been getting hammered all around the globe. We finally have him back to do some damage again. His new ‘The Palm On The Altar’ EP displays a more fine tuned hel.IV while still attacking the throats. It’s dark. It’s Imposing, and it is serious business. We also have the talented Dahlia on board to remix the title track. An almost 8 minute journey to tell his version. Ruff Stuff inaugurates his new Sculptures imprint this February with ‘The Faster Buster’ EP, comprising four originals from the Berlin-based artist.

Sculptures Records is the new label from Ruff Stuff, a new platform designed to showcase material from predominantly up and coming artists who use physical machines to craft and sculpt their music, using their hands and real tools to create unique pieces of art. This stands as the ethos for Sculptures and its output moving
forward, which will aesthetically lean towards house and deep house sounds with forays into electro.

The label-head Ruff Stuff steps up first to inaugurate things here and leads the release with ‘Give Me A Break’, employing organic drums and dubbed out stabs at its core before the latter half of the composition introduces a rave-tinged disorienting synth
hook. Title-cut ‘Faster Buster’ follows next, this time round employing swirling pads, bumpy drums and gritty stab sequences as it’s core alongside hypnotic vocal chants and squelching 303 bass notes.

‘Bunker Mood’ opens the flip side, fuelled by dusty drums and a snaking bass groove while an amalgamation of airy chords, tension building strings and vocal samples carry the groove. ‘Rules Breaker’ then closes the package with a contrasting feel, bringing a
choppy square wave bass line and resonant synth licks to the forefront alongside off-kilter, skippy drums and ethereal pads ebbing and flowing within.

Shekon is back on Skryptöm with a new INFINITE UNION EP is a short collection of evolutive futuristic techno, with powerfull ryhtms and modern skills.

Vivus Records returns with the third instalment of the vinyl-only series VRV. With the previous release being supported by the likes of Raresh or Vincentiulian, you can expect another top-notch musical journey from two promising young talents like Silat Beksi and Daniel Broesecke.

Having been around the music scene since 2003, it was in 2013 that things really started to pick up for Silat Beksi. The Ukranian has releases at labels such as moral Fiber, Sakadat, Body Parts or Mulen and his style of uncrompomising techno blended with some sweet textures has gained him many fans on dancefloors worldwide.

Daniel Broesecke comes from the deep south of Germany and is always in search of the sounds of the underground. His catalogue includes releases at Deep Tech, Baile Musik and Lowroon Recordings and you can expect some smooth and playful techno vibes from the German.

VRV03 gets us in an atmospheric groove right from the beginning. There is a particular sense of serenity as the first track, Shades, starts playing. Once the first two minutes are gone, though, things start to get serious and the smooth bassline blends with a lovely acid touch to give an overall dreamy vibe.

As far as Taboo is concerned, things couldn't be more different. An imposing bassline greets us from the start and you can feel that Silat and Daniel have dropped the more gentle approach from Shades and opted for a powerful techno track. An intriguing range of peculiar sounds go hand in hand with the driving bass to make your feet move instantly.

The debut album "Night Train EP" is a journey
into the dubby soundscape of Domino Vibes (A DJ & Producer based in Bucharest, Romania).

The sound is a blend of acoustic drums, analog & digital synths that
has its roots in the classic, early dub-techno records.

Packed with raw, punchy beats, deep groovy basslines, monotonal-muted synth-pads, and funky percussion all along,

"Entering in Station", B1 track, is based on a simple dub theme. The punchy drum kick and deep baseline meet the main chords theme, here and there a sudden, weird and transcending "intemezzo" pops up and sends us to the other side of the scene, like driving through a misty fog.

The beat comes back on and chords keep flowing into an endless loop.

The last track "Sinking Sun" brings in a playful mood, send the listener to a magical scenery,

The "dancehall" echo is omnipresent, brings colour to the scene, all is paired with the timeless feel of the groove.

The big man is back! Stefano Noferini, the man behind the Deeperfect brand. On this EP he is joined by the Florentine newcomer duo, Looad. Together the three collaborators deliver a four track EP of the finest quality club weapons. ‘Floating’ starts off in a manner that is instantly recognisable as a tough cut of Deeperfect’s signature stripped-back minimal. Grown up as a techno artist within the 90s UK scenery in line with Neil Landstrumm, Tobias Schmidt and Cristian Vogel, Dave Tarrida sounds just like one of those loud, sweaty, really dark underground clubs with too many strobes to see but just enough to keep your heart rate at a max. Most well known as one of the founding members of the legendary Sativae club in Edinburgh, he still retains this ravy, industrial feeling in his tracks and remains an ambassador of never ending electronic roughness - as a DJ as well as a producer.
His smashing tracks have been released on labels such as the famous Tresor, Outpost Recordings, and of course on the club-related label Sativae Recordings, which he co-runs with Steve Glencross, as well as on his more recent founded own label AUTOFAKE.

What about him Born in Stuttgart in 1987, grew up with hip hop music, high school in fine arts, study of aviation and space technology, teacher of drums and percussion, active as a drummer in a classical orchestra, co-founder and artworker of the renowned Common Sense People event series & resident DJ at the club Rocker 33 in Stuttgart, music repertoire includes hip hop, pop, indiependent, folk, classical and electronic music. His musical design can be best described as opposites attract with attention to the everlasting basic principle: As little as possible, as much as necessary or better: if no girl is dancing, I've made something wrong! Noisy and clear, functional and strange, stereotyped and unconventional, wide and narrow, stereo and mono. Sampling takes precedence over the programming of sounds, every element must have a function and must be internally consistent, vinyl is the sample source and acts as patina supplier, Presetsound-"not"-sound is absolutely taboo. Everything stands or falls with the sound of the elements used. These need to fuse together to a foundation, where your first impression can sit. Is this
foundation given, you get things deliberately to collapse. The arrangement is derived from the items that are available and not the other way around.

As we come upon Still Play Records 6th vinyl release, we welcome Amsterdam's Odette to the roster as she crafts February's narrative of love with her Love Story EP'.

microcastle’s third offering of 2020 welcomes Ivory back to the label for a new EP. Based in Milan, Italian artist Daniel Tagliaferri aka Ivory brings a surreal beauty to his innovative brand of electronic composition. As a perpetual favourite of Adriatique, Ame, Dixon, Lehar, Tale Of Us, Toto Chiavetta and Trikk, Ivory made his microcastle debut in July of last year with ‘No Scale Can Resize You’. Rising to #1 in Beatport Indie Dance and Melodic House & Techno, the release received praise from both his contemporaries and fans alike. Carrying momentum forward, 2020 has yielded significant creative successes for Daniel. The release of ‘Dreamers’ via Innervisions and ‘Hold Your Breath’ via Multinotes have proven to be two of the year’s most well received tracks. Now fresh off a remix for L.K.F Project via AZZUR, Ivory makes a welcome return to microcastle with ‘Light Through Water’.

As a much-requested track from Ivory’s sets, it is the arcane wonder ‘Time Lapse’ which gets the EP underway. Rhythmically buoyant, it’s rippling low end, kaleidoscopic synths and fiery percussion set the release on a course for aural enlightenment. Although best known for his warmer, musical prowess; it is the wintry quality of ‘Quartz’ which follows, placing Ivory in the unique spot of also being able to craft starker, more rhythmic compositions. A highlight in the sets of Trikk, it’s peculiar blend of titanium kicks, icy refrains and hypnagogic synthscapes set the stage for the robust muscularity of ‘Steam Machine’. A recent favourite of Toto Chiavetta, this austere, machine-funk delight appears to be set for dance floor destruction.

Moving forward yet stripping things back are the hypno grooves of ‘Minderals’. Another creation championed by Trikk; it’s slow burning drawl, percussive splashes and pyrotechnic synth design are perfect for the more astute connoisseur. The twisted echoes which lurk in ‘Minderals’ are decayed further still on the following number ‘Eufrat’, a track where Ivory’s elastic grooves and metallic sonics are set against a backdrop of pixie-like effects.

Trending towards the grandiose is the title selection ‘Light Through Water’. Pitched somewhere comfortably between dreamy reverie and symphonic bliss, it’s a piece equally at home above a festival skyline or sitting in the emotional sweet spot of an end of the night scenario. Captivating and poignant in equal measure, it’s widescreen nature tastefully melts down into the fluid tranquility of ‘Arpstairs’. Ivory flexes his borderless versatility here, as notes ring out into timeless suspension, while a gentle flurry of arpeggiated tones sweep their way across a bed of broken rhythms.

Ivory’s multifaceted ‘Light Through Water’ is a set of bold, synthesizer symphonies; a seven-act story showcasing a special talent whose unique sonic aesthetic continues to flourish.

First up, Groove Key is a big vocal tune that builds suspense on chunky drums. When the impassioned vocal breaks out, and the bass line joins the party, the club is sure to blow up.

Go Back is a slow burner that will have the floor in raptures. Disco house loops, funky bass riffs and lush claps all build and build to a frantic peak. Newrhythmic Records presents a new Various Artist on vinyl that gathers the talent of great producers in an impressive moment and brings it together in four purely Techno cuts that combine energetic patterns with hypnotic atmospheres.

Alexander Kowalski opens the EP under his alias "Disx3", with which he distills "Phobos", the sharpest track on the album. A poisoned pattern takes over the theme while saturated percussion turns it into a hurricane.

On the back of their critically acclaimed 'Oblivion' EP, from which 'Sensation' was named one of the techno tracks of 2016 by Mixmag, Monika Kruse rejoins her brothers-from-another-mother Pig&Dan for another electrifying two-track EP.

Both tracks - 'Get Me On' and 'So Good' featured in her celebrated debut Essential Mix that aired on April 1 and have highlighted the iconic techno artist's sets over the past month, everywhere from Time Warp to her wildly popular b2b with Andrea Oliva at Boiler Room Madrid in March.

Produced during an inspired couple of days in Mallorca with Pig&Dan in January, both records are explosive techno weapons built for the peaktime and propelled by a stunning warehouse stomp. 'Get Me On' is a driving affair from the outset, powered by a compelling mainroom groove that's gradually immersed in exhilarating cyclone swirls of melody. 'So Good' is as delectable as its name, characterized by a roaring buildup that's drawn out dramatically for much of its 8-minute running time, working in tandem with several carefully deployed breakdowns. Dyspal is a newcomer Duo from Toulouse, they are travelling between modern elegant and powerfull techno and a combination of electronica, electro and breakbeats. Their first EP gives a panel of their different landscapes and the power they have to burn a dance floor with the track wrong treatment. P.E.A.R.L. gives us a new interpretation of broken lullaby in a pure powerfull techno vision who should burn any floor. Moteka is back with 'Rise Of The Machines’ announcing his debut album on Skryptöm 'As We Fought Iron Giants', scheduled for July 1st. This EP is a short collection of evolutive futuristic techno tracks, with powerful rhythms and a modern sound. The Swedish duo SHXCXCHCXSH were invited as remixers, and delivered a stellar emotional and epic journey.

Ghent’s based MUZI cartel is back with a vinyl only release, presenting an EP by Argentinian artists, Sound Process & Franco Strato, including a remix by the Romanian Herck.

The A1 on the record is a bass infused story layered with vocals and a deep hitting stab. Going further into the A2, we get a smooth house jam that is perfectly crafted for your Sunday afternoon sessions.

Not too complicated on the drums, this one is all about delaying your stay. On the B1 we get “Today’s Vibe”, and we really can’t describe it any better than that. Sunny grooves and warm subtle pads will bright up your day.

Lately, Gevo Agua has spent every free minute in his Studio tinkering with fresh Grooves, whilst experienced Artist Zohki has recently made a name for himself with outputs on Kina Music, Avotre, Moon Harbour and Rush.
