The third instalment from our imprint EWax Black Series is here! No names, just music!

Having kicked off last year courtesy of the exceptional 'Highpath Prologue' V/A, the London-based Highpath imprint has been touted as one to watch in influential circles. Founded by two Frenchman, Stephane Ghenacia and Thomas Roland and Helmed as a trio with Ludo M, the label's first release featured a host of astutely chosen talents, including Dan Ghenacia, Chris Carrier, Alex Arnout, Taymor Zadeh, Jedsa Soundorom and the aforementioned Mr. Roland & Mr Ghenacia. For the label's latest, HH001, the lads deliver with aplomb once more, this time with another cleverly chosen cast delivering the sounds.

Up first is Bassam, who impresses courtesy of the exceptional sounds of 'Lee Mouzi'. A tidy, well-crafted cut full of twinkling melodies and zippy acid lines, it goes off on tangents aplenty and keeps the listener guessing at every turn. A real rollercoaster of a track that comprises various sounds and moods, in many ways it's indicative of the release as a whole.

French producer JL (aka Jules Lemesie) is up next soon after courtesy of 'Get It'. A track that goes deep in search of kicks, the action is consistently interspersed with a muffled vocal that injects it with that extra bite. A canny tool with which to move the night along with, its percussion-heavy flavours prove a nice foil to matters elsewhere.

Two other Frenchman kick off the B side, with live act Oden & Fatzo getting things underway thanks to the sumptuous sounds of the baseline-heavy anthem that is 'Midnight Bedtime'. A rollocking track that's notable for its groovy aesthetic and firm dedication to the 'floor, this is peak time music that's best handled with care. Sure to get punters dancing and smiling in their droves, it's also further indication of the label's determination to trump upon emerging artists — and be greatly rewarded for doing so.

Seeing us out the gate is the sounds of Tom Akman's 'Misunderstood'. A Detroit-inspired

battleweapon that's high on intoxicating vibes from the get-go, it too follows an unfamiliar path, with its deep yet banging vibes and many madcap vocals ensuring it stands out from the crowd. A thoroughly intriguing and engaging EP, discerning DJs are sure to be reaching for this one long after the summer has come to a head. Majestic stuff throughout — and proof indeed that Highpath's opening salvo was no flash in the pan.

Leftback 016 sees the second installment of the internal connection series designed to bring through new artists and friends to the label. The EP delivers four diverse tracks ranging from driving House to dub techno with also a little something in-between. A1 welcomes Annie Errez with her driving hard edged take on house, with releases on labels such as Steve O'Sullivan Mosiac and playing alongside the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, East End Dubs, Cristi Cons, Rhadoo as resident for the Leeds popular club night System. A2 sees one of our favorite dub techno producers Star Dub, provide an upbeat dance floor cut rolling bass and the crisp warmth we've come to expect from his music. B1 Introduces long time friend and Chord records head Luke Black with more groove led beats shining through with a catchy sparse vocal hook. To complete the EP the duo behind the Real Gang label and events Miffy & Miller supply an intelligent deeper close to the record.

With his new Extrasketch imprint now firmly established and fast becoming a key stop for the likes of Adam Beyer, Jamie Jones, Art Department, Danny Tenaglia and more, Andrew Rasse aka Butane's new home for self-released productions has once again confirmed his prowess both in the studio and from behind the scenes as a curator of quality underground House and Techno. The third installment sees Rasse's most varied release on the imprint to date, with a balanced blend of elaborate melodies, groovy percussion and trademark hooky vocals across four tracks for his 'Techno Mafia' EP.

Opening the A-Side, 'Losing Their Mind' draws on familiar aesthetics as organic drum shots work alongside tripped out vocals to form an oddly hypnotic, syncopated rhythm that locks the dancers onto the floor. Next up, 'Above the Scene' strips things back a bit, as Rasse lays down punchy drums underneath glistening hats and warm chords to reveal an excellent heads down, hands up, sunny after hours jam.

On the flip, 'Testify' raises the energy levels as Rasse deftly utilises a rolling, floor-friendly bass groove and filtered vocals to steadily build tension for the track's duration. Closing the EP in fine style, a slick ever-evolving piano melody works fluently amongst crisp, regimented percussion, whilst an uplifting voice beckons the people to 'Rise Up'. Yet another indispensable release to add to Rasse's extensive and sophisticated catalogue.

These crispy sounds and raw rhythms that flow into the 7th release from the well established reface factory are not allowing existing excuses to stand beside the wall. Get down on Moving Visual Things and feel free to bounce like no one is watching: the dance floor is yours.

Nazt's Handcrafted label has been responsible for some well-received records over the past few years, with Alexkid, Carlos Sanchez, Javier Carballo, Priku and Melodie among the globally-renowned names who've graced the imprint. Based in Gran Canaria, the label's raison d'être tends to lean toward accomplished sounding house and techno hues, so it's no surprise that Cesare vs Disorder is another who's already featured for the label. The label's latest sees the Italy-born, Brazil-based producer conjure up a stunning release courtesy of Utopia. Delicate and imbued with more than a smidgen of magic, it serves up a fascinating insight into the mind of a musician whose work continues to be defined by its eclectic tropes.

It's the title track that gets us underway. An emotive record that tugs at the heartstrings in the best way possible, it's never lacking in drama and is notable for its many floating melodies and whimsical vibes. A beautiful example of the soul that often pervades deep house records, this is music made with an impressive level of thought and care.

'Under Your Shadow' sees the producer hark back to more minimal-inspired planes, with its trippy aesthetic, popping beats and unlikely baseline coming together with a consummate ease that separates this one from the herd. Fascinating and engaging, it too traverses down a deep path, with the end result one that manages to pair up to the original's brilliance. Which of course, is no mean feat.

Culminating the release is Arma 17 resident Denis Kaznacheev, who interprets 'Under Your Shadow' in his own inimitable manner. Renowned as one of Russia's foremost clubs, Kaznacheev has played a pertinent role in the club's rise to global prominence, with this release reminding us just why it's earned a reputation as one of the world's best after-hours spots. An unusual but captivating track with an unpredictable demeanour, it closes the release amongst a barrage of oddball vibes.

Welcome to VL limited, part of the VL Recordings family selected by Hector. To kick things off, 12 outstanding tracks from fellow VL members to be released as a special 3x vinyl only edition. With the avid vinyl collector in mind, these tracks have been compiled for their timeless quality to be played out on wax as intended with that peak club set in mind. Newcomers Rich Nxt, Lauren Lo Sung, Sakro, Onno, Guy From Downstairs and Faster make their VL debut. Along with the classic VL sound of regulars David Gtronic, Sece, Javier Carballo, Chad Andrew and Randall M. We also welcome back Iuly. Finally the wait is over as we reveal our highly anticipated 4th release, a collaboration with our good friend and Romanian superstar producer Vlad Arapasu. Coming off the back of releases for Atipic Lab, Eastenderz & his newly minted imprint KONTENT, Vlad’s rhythmic prowess takes center stage as he turns out 3 complex slices of high end minimalist techno. Mysterious atmospheric tones twist and turn around drum patterns of unrelenting ferocity, creating a truly intoxicating and timeless Ep.

Butane's second release of 2018 drops this June, with the US DJ/producer unveiling his 'Body Of Work' EP as the fourth installment in his impressive Extrasketch series.

In its fourth release since emerging onto the scene in July of 2017, Extrasketch has become a staple label for may of the industries leading names - with support from Laurent Garnier, Guy Gerber, Jamie Jones, Danny Tenaglia, Kenny Glasgow, Ryan Crosson and Carlo Lio on the last EP alone. Following on from his varied and dynamic 'Techno Mafia' EP, here we see Andrew Rasse aka Butane deliver yet another expertly crafted, workman-like four-tracker that's set to make waves on peak time dancefloors and hazy afterhours thoughout summer and beyond.


Rasse kick starts EX04 with his 'Rumpus mix' of 'Ultramax'. The original featured as an off-kilter B2 cut on EX02, here he re-works the original's vocals amongst a deep yet bouncy and rugged low end to provide a fresh and entrancing interpretation for 2018. Next up, 'Dark Forces' is a hypnotic and stripped back effort, guided by an evolving lead line and regimented claps, perfectly encapsulating the refined and deft characteristics the San Francisco producer executes so well in his work.

'People' opens the B-side and quickly introduces crisp, skipping hats and a rolling organic dubby tech house groove to reveal a cut designed to keep the morning dance floors moving. 'Getting Nowhere' rounds out the package, as a cheeky remix of his 2012 hit 'We Long To Move The Stars To Pity', released on his own Alphahouse imprint and licensed as the opening track on Dubfire's Essential Mix that year. Here Rasse returns to his trademark blend: a grooving bassline, well worked percussion patterns, and hooky vocal shots. As always, this is a must have package from one of House and Techno's most talented producers, on a thriving imprint that's set to make an even bigger stir throughout the year ahead.

For this 3rd release we have invited artists from our small family. Jacque Saravanté brings us a pure underground tune, with a groovy balanced bassline and a meticulous arrangement. The second track is presented by &lez, like always, you will hear an hypnotic percussion work pursued by a constantly moving vibe. Next we have Staniz bringing nothing but good vibes, a deeper track with a catchy melody. Closing this edition is Vloon, giving us a deep tech track with acid elements and a driving minimal composition.

We're delighted and honored to welcome always unpredictable French trio dOP.

With the rich background of mesmerizing discography with labels as Life & Death, Circus Company, Watergate, Crosstown Rebels and Diynamic, the band has certainly been firm on the extracting the very best of each production, which their heads and arms have ever produced.

dOP is always delivering the message beyond time, standards and cliches, which is can be clearly seen in their music and their bright live performances.

'Carousel' is the debut release we've collected with this undoubtedly gifted band, where all the mixes are worth of deeper look and being present on vinyl.

The title 'Carousel' track is done in the manner, characterizing guys at it's best: sharp synthesizer sequences and live percussions of Luis Miguel 'Cuchara' Jaramillo are utterly merging into the stable and guaranteed floors smasher, which is beautified with Jaw's tender vocals on it.

US-based duo Bedouin, which was patiently bearing their rare and individual trend sound for years, is the first to lay the rework onto 'Carousel'.

Having released numerous successful records with Crosstown Rebels, Supernature and All Day I Dream, as well as classy remixes for Black Coffee via Ultra or for &ME's & Fink's via Keinemusik, Bedouin have been running their Saga residency for a few seasons, so their appearance on the label is fully welcome and desired.

Bedouin's remix is the elegant and trippy interpretation, performed in a very eclectic, calm and melodic manner, emphasizing the best of the original's harmonies and vocals.

B-side meets Jennifer Cardini - the ideologist of Correspondant label and the true unity transmitter of the 'dj-crowd' connection, which has been firmly proved by her long and broad dj-ing career.

Jennifer's remix is a more energetic and weighty one, pleasing the likes of indietronica lovers together with the proper house feeling through it.

Very dramatic and edgy 'Heart Signs' speaks better than words: classic dark & atmospheric pianos, mysterious violins, and warm vocals are perfectly flowing into the end of this story.

Be sure not to miss it, as boundaries are not needed here.
