It's not often we get to write about a release with a George Bernard Shaw quote. Then again, it's not often benevolent, community-spirited beatcrafters like Cioz come along. Driven and inspired by the idea of sharing knowledge, ideas and inspiration, Cioz has established the Spazio Giovanile di Boccaleone, a community-based creative hub in Bergamo Italy where artists unite, collaborate, develop ideas, inspire and create. Also a hugely promising new artist with releases on labels such as Einmusika and Subjekt, right now he's developing ideas, inspiring and creating with the one and only Monaberry.

In keeping with his previous pieces and his influences such as Bodzin, Holden, Kalkbrenner, Cooper and many more, the whole EP is laced with a restrained yet beautiful theme. 'Arbol' rises and rises with shimmering fluid synths and space aged stream train momentum to the percussion as we're driven to exultant peaks. Lion' strips back even further for a late night trip into dense cosmic fog while Good News' draws us back in soulfully with an immaculate feel good hip-slinker that oozes dreamy sentiment yet does so in a really captivating clipped and restrained and subtly detailed way.

Cioz's ultimately positive and evocative label debut concludes on a remarkable remix from Tim Engelhardt. Adding an insatiable afro swing that's reminiscent of DJ Gregory or MAW 15-20 years ago, there's an infectious physical pull on the rhythm that refuses to let you go and complements the spirit and tone of this awesome package.

Berlin based Voight is a new vinyl and digital project from a well known and respected source.

Focusing on a puristic Techno sound, the label has already seen contributions from artists such as Oliver Deutschmann, Flug, GoldFFinch, Albert van Abbe and others.

ALPI are an Italian production duo that arrive on Voight following excellent releases for Arnaud Le Texier's Children of Tomorrow and the legendary Dutch imprint Planet Rhythm. Having shared the DJ booth with artists such as Markus Suckut and Kobosil, they are one to keep a close eye on.

Wrong Assessment is also an Italian based artist who comes with a fine pedigree having released music on labels like Invite's Choice, Cleric's Clergy, EarToGround and most recently Bas Mooy's Mord.

The tracks have an instant ingrained class, focusing on a mixture of tough broken rhythms, dubby sounds, ethereal textures and poignant harmonics.

In the blink of an eye Steyoyoke nds itself approaching its second birthday. A lot has changed since the label rst emerged on the scene and tremendous strides have been taken in becoming a label to reckoned with on the scene. In mark of such efforts the label has put together its second Anniversary EP, featuring four remixes from four top artists on some of the labels highlights of the last year.

Play Again' was the title track and seducer of Soul Buttons engaging EP release earlier last year. Pete Oaks remix of this gritty affair carries the same devilish charm and attitude as the
original but with an added pinch. Gravitating around those, Pete Oaks remix packs a punch with couple of heavy drops.
Patrick Podage takes aim next with a well balanced remix of Florian Rietzes Treibholz'. A thunderous bassline surges this downtempo treasure into life, sending the elements scattering
across a progressive and steady groove. Contrasting strings keep the raw emotion within this dreamy landscape.

Brazilian pair Flow & Zeo take a strong hand to Soul Button and Saschs collaborative work Little People'. What was once a track that held a delicate touch, now holds charge as it moves
with purpose and alarm. Rising and falling with precision, Flow & Zeo produce a rollercoaster of a remix.

Wrapping things up is Stevie R and Ian Mckenzies remix of MPathys provocative I'm Yours'.

Emerging slowly out the blocks, the remix builds to become the eccentric jewel in the crown. Notes that appear drunk as they dance between a steady groove make this a quirky adventure for the ears. Maintaining the same enticing vocals and original tribal percussion help keep the heat.
All tracks will be available on vinyl from the 14th of February and in digital on the 10th of March with the additional Pete Oak dub remix of Play Again'. The 14th of March will see the label
hitting Ritter Butzke to celebrate their second birthday coinciding with the release of the Anniversary EP. All featuring artists will be playing their part in showing that there is still plenty more to come from Steyoyoke.

What Came First celebrates its twelfth release with a special birthday EP from Techno legend The Advent with a remix from Egbert.Opening with Valiant Keys' its vocal phrase loops short sections to build tension until it opens up with tender bursts of clarity. Layered over a pounding kick drum with rattling synths and eruptions of white noise, the rolling groove of this hands in the air slice of Techno is perfect for the dancefloor.Track two Exchange' starts with the flicker of mechanical hi-hats and stabbing synths that blended with the twisted melody, fuse to form a groove that's packed with forward momentum. Growing with intensity as the track develops, each bass drop is bigger than the one before, as it swells with thrilling suspense.The third track on the release is Egbert's remix of Valiant Keys' which is fast and furious, lead forward by a thumping kick drum. Allowing the original's vocal to be the main focus, Egbert adds his own sinister lead synth and uplifting pads that combine to make an eerie atmosphere full of gripping anticipation.

sponsible for some incredible output over the
last few years, and are noted for their judici-
ous selection of remixers.
This vinyl only release confrms the fact -
a selection of four shimmering remixes of
hafendisko material including a new remix by
Smallville's Julius Steinhoff which is exclu-
sive to this vinyl release. His rework of 'Alive'
- a new track by hfn's highly rated Ebb - is a
sublime slice of deep emotional house music,
strings, keys and synths interplaying perfectly
with gentle vocals form the Swedish outft.
Brynjolfur's new track 'M25' already receives
brilliant feedback from those in the know, and
it's Mihai Popoviciu's remix that get the nod
here - crafted for the dance-foor but at the
same time deeply musical and moving.

Similarly, Jacob Bellens' 'Polyester Skin'
- taken from the upcoming correspondent
album - receives an outstanding remix treat-
ment by Tuff City Kids (aka Gerd Janson
and Phillip Lauer).
Lydmor & Bon Homme's 'Dream Of Fire'
with a remix by Johannes Brecht - also
features here - a subtle, affecting mix that is a
secret weapon for discerning dance-foors.
