Cahoots Records celebrates one year with the release of Volume 4 featuring tracks by Borai, Ave Astra, stevn.aint.leavn, and Anders Hellberg.
Bristol based Borai kicks off Volume 4 with 'Thinking of You,' a clean, classic take on house music. Strongly recognized for his productions on labels like Chicago's Tasteful Nudes, Retrofit and Needwant, Borai's contribution to Volume 4 continues his ode to classic deep house with upbeat drums and straightforward melodies that nod to the New York & New Jersey anthems of yore.
Calling the shots next is 'Clap Your Hands' by Ave Astra, who delivers deep pressure kicks and bass that work hard underneath thick, flowing pads, rhythmic synth-work and explosive vocal samples. Ave's imprint Roit Recordings presses cutting edge raw house and techno with love from Istanbul. His previous productions have found homes on top house labels such as 124 Recordings and Made Fresh Daily.
For Volume 4, Cahoots decided to turn over the B-Side duties to two fresh Berlin artists. stevn.aint.leavn, hailing from the infamous Beste Modus crew, is a regular in the Berlin scene. His contribution 'Silk Share' is a galloping work of punchy percussive rolls and fills. This train is certainly rolling through and will be making a few quick stops along the way. stevn.aint.leavn's live sets always promise rugged beats and vibes built strictly for the club.
Our next Berlin based Cahoots cohort, Anders Hellberg closes out Volume 4 with 'Viol,' an aggressive analog anthem with driving techno influence. A hypnotic bassline carries the track through dark passages of menacing dips and drops as stuttering hat and drum patterns keep this one locked into an firm groove. Anders' continues his journey into sound with promising releases on labels including Telefonplan and Sonntag Morgen.

Der Frühling stellt sich endlich ein und die Sehnsucht nach Open Airs steigt ins Unermessliche. Und dann kommt auch noch Nico Pusch mit seiner You EP, die schlichtweg vollkommene Liebe und pure Sonne im Herzen trägt. Flankiert von einem grandiosen Remix von Carlo Ruetz und einer groovenden Interpretation von plunk.ton ist es kaum noch möglich, die Zeit bis zum Sommer abzuwarten. "I'm really glad to introduce the new JETT vinyl. Andri's sound is really amazing : smart, sharp and well produced. Longtimewasters track perfectly associates melo mood and groovy rhythm. On the flip Lamborgotii xt3000 is a minimal house anthem with some disco touches. On the remixers side you can find my Spanish friends from 'La Mancha' : Carlos & David. They really rock the original using their own style made with deep and dark influences...You should follow them because they are on a successful way with some releases coming on Leftroom, OFF, Sintope and of course JETT. Finally I chose to do the other remix and I hope you will like it.

As usual two new young talents "HNDRK" and "I Can't" supported by a well known name in the Techno scene "RadicalG".

My Little Dog welcomes the 2014 summer with another solid VVAA ep. The first track comes from the skilled hands of the Chilean producer Rodrigo Laffertt. 'Punta de Flecha' is a sweat, groovy and dark trip, seasoned with a deep and elegant Spanish voice. A serious candidate for this summer house hit in the best open airs.

The next track is a brand new version of the epic 'Santiago Deep - Bonsoca'. The one in charge of the remix is the German underground superhero Mollono.Bass. Molle gives his personal touch, adding new tribal elements, voices and flautes, and pumping the groove until getting a new powerful masterpiece. Another clear summer winner.

The third track comes by one of the My Little Dog CEOs, Sergio Parrado. This time he teams up with his mate Plä Ziom, and delight us with 'Mushrooms'. A perfect combination of Chicago old skool and deep house. If that were not enough, Aldo Cadiz remixes the track, moving from Chicago to Detroit and going a bit deeper than the original. Brilliant!

Oh So Coy unleashes it's second 12" with a deep vocal number from Pete Griffiths, aka Yunome. Pete's second outing on Oh So Coy adds to his rather tasty 2013 release schedule with forthcoming releases on the well respected Tug Underground and Something Different Records. On vocal duties we have Lebanese singer/songwriter, Rouba, who's sonic abilities have been likened to Chaka Khan and Mary J Blige. With her roots in firmly in Jazz and Soul, Rouba's debut project in underground house music shows she is one to watch for the future. The EP is top and tailed with three quality remixes. Shades of Gray, who have been burning up charts everywhere and need no introduction, do not disappoint with their massive bass infused workout. Nohijo, Oh So Coy's golden boy and Yunome's long term collaboration partner, delivers a naughty, slowed down tempo groove whilst label head Matt Prehn adds some garage flavour.

Ostfunk´s Mastermind Daniel Boon presents a very calm 4 track EP which comes along in a very passionate, chilly mood and is either perfect fort he summer dancefloors or any loveplay after the dance. The dance hit oft he EP is the percussive - Siento Mi Amor', the sexy vocals on the Kollektiv Klanggut and Petio Privá remix make the track exceptional.'Me Se Siento' is full of passion, the remix gives a slight oriental taste - all in all - Amore Sito' is an outstanding masterpiece and on the way to be a classic of deep german house music.

Lukas Brzostek EP

Eric Kanzler - Little EP

Eric Kanzler, well known for his project Kanzler & Wischnewski, is - for sure - one of the most advanced producers on the Ostfunk Label. One of the most active and in demand producers on the European techno circuit at the moment, Angy Kore from Italy joins the Australian power house Elektrax Recordings with his first vinyl release "Sasau EP", including two heavy big room bombs "Sasau" and "Train Zero" on the A-Side.
