Freitag's First Vinyl: The Beauty of Dueling Creative Energies

Almost Over is a first on a couple of fronts— it's the first finished collaborative project between Submerge and Ricardo Garduno, and it's Freitag's first release on vinyl.

But 'Almost Over'— what does this title mean, anyway Not as deep as you'd think; it comes from the first serious in-studio brainstorm between Submerge (Orlando Solis) and Ricardo Garduno, owner of Illegal Alien Records. After a gig one night they gathered at the studio, broke out the Heinekens, and got to work putting together the tracks that until now they'd only talked about.

Two days later the phrase 'almost over' had become a standing joke, summing up that common phenomenon of the artistic process when you think you're finished but then you see another thing that needs to be done . . . and another thing . . . and another thing . . . and another thing . . .

The happy result is four fantastic tracks that are deep, funky and energetic at the same time.

The title track is a subtle number with clicky, deep, dubby beats, a ton of atmospheric pads, and a long, silky breakdown that will take listeners on a deep and mindful journey. The flip features "Roots,' which takes a more sinister direction, dropping some of the up front package, with big, brash, percussive rhythms. This track has been played by many and has been featured on the CLR's podcast.

with 2 of the more outstanding artists of the current tech house scene; David Herrero

On the A Side we find David Herrero and his groovy tech house monster track 'El
Trote Amarapura'. Alongside David comes Oscar Barila and his great track 'El
Rollasso', pure groove accompained by freak & warm Chilean voices. On the B Side

Side A by RAWFILA is consisted of, "gravity," a dope minimal track, from a combination of soft noise and hypno parts, with a stoic roaring beat that accelerates with a metallic dub effect, and "debris," an Industrial Techno track with an edged dope synth. Der E-Kreisel is back on SPOILER with a new porn techno ep called "2 Fucked Up / Versaut".It starts on the a side with the "2 Fucked Up" attitude.Lars Wickingers Interpretation of the situation is the remix.Expect a statement of dirtyness on the b-side with the track "Versaut" but don't be ashamed if its gettin a bit too dirty. People under 18 should leave the dancefloor before You play this.Last not least Der E-Kreisel offers us a Percussion Techno Track with "Let's get down" played by himself on a real cajon.

The German based label Kitty Corner Records turns back the wheel and starts a new series of fresh experimental techno music. The opening track 'Hachzem' from Bristol's Kanji Kinetic comes with storming mutant basslines and rave stabs collide over a thumping techno beat. For 'Battle Creek Brawl' RRRitalin and Cynthia Stern take it back to '92 with pitched up rap vocals over a prodigy style breakbeat hardcore track. Spaceface's 'Hands of a Lunatik' is frenetic and crazy wonky techno, while Luke's Anger rounds off the EP with the robotic 909 warehouse beats of 'Throwing Switches'.

After the introduction of 'The African Awakening' as dub version on our 'Brazil Not Brazil 2014 release it's now time to lift the secret entirely. With dj/producer Larry Cadge from London Martin Eyerer & Rainer Weichhold are very happy to add a new member to the Kling Klong family, who's 'Vicious Circle' was one of the big tunes this spring. Instead of releasing on his on label Smiley Fingers he decided to do it the Kling Klong way with Belgian homie Hermanez on the remix duty!

International Sound Laboratory is proud to present the next development in audio technology, a long
awaited co-production between Alexi Delano and Jesper Dahlbäck. The release consists of material recorded
live at the ISL head quarters at Globe Studios Stockholm. Their process consists of the formation,
deformation and accumulation of sounds produced solely and purely under the influence of heavy coffee
dosage.

In fact, the studio caters a wide range of different kitchen appliances for creating a perfect cup of
coffee. From a soft and smooth watery coffee via the heavier taste sensation of the Swedish electric
percolator to the extreme intensity of the piece de resistance, the Italian espresso machine. Not to
forget, the kitchen also includes a special coffee grinder capable of grinding beans to perfectly match
each machine and purpose.

The worlds top consumer of coffee beans is the people in Finland, closely followed by swedes and Norwegians.
In Sweden, an average amount of 150 metric litres is consumed each year. About 6 480 million kg of
coffee beans is consumed world wide every year, generating some 103 223 million litres of
coffee (8 g/cup 15cl).

Darknet returns for its 7th 12" release, and just like the former 6, it's guaranteed to set your local dancefloor on steamy hot fire. Gabeen and Yan Cook are the first ones to line up, and the original 'Dark Shade' has just that perfect vibe for creating exactly what its title says. With its solid building and pianostab breakdowns, its guaranteed to set it off in every club.
The renowned Yan Cook takes on things differently in his outstanding, deep, dubby but also grim remix. The rolling energy makes place for a lot of space between the beats, which are nicely filled up by the piano-stabs delays. If you still don't know how to open your set, look no further.

The B-side honours are being fulfilled by Static Sense. His original mix of 'Brain Revolution' is peak time glory again, as it continues the dim character of the A-side tracks by throwing in a heavy groove, underlining a deep, distorted stab. There's no escaping the fury of this one. When the famous Kraemer & Niereich agree on remixing, you know exactly what to expect; leave your children at home, cause things are likely to become sinister. Their version of 'Brain Revolution' is no exception, making the last track on this EP as good as the ones that went before. A must have EP for all dark technoheads around !
