Whole Darn Fam's classic 7 Minutes of Funk gets cut in half here to fit the 45 and needs no introduction and neither does the flip, EPMD's It's My Thing' which samples it - what more can I say, Top Billin! Grab doubles while stocks last!

Aldo Vanucci takes Bobby Taylor's reinterpretation of Marvin Gaye's "Heard it Through the Grapevine" and transforms it into a driving and increasingly urgent certified Soul stomper.

The Chuck Cyril Walker Collection (1980-1985) featuring 8 rare tracks highlighting the career of this Charlotte, NC keyboardist and producer. Saturday Night is dedicated to the family, friends, and fans of the late Chuck Cyril Walker, who passed away during the making of this album.

Debuting in 2014, DJ BEATATTACK has constantly been a highly-rated of rookie on the Japanese scene. Using his huge vinyl collection, he takes samples from his records then magically cooks them to build up a beat with MPC, a bit like making Sushi.

DJ BEATATTACK has released 3 sold-out 7-inch vinyls since he debuted, helping to build his reputation.

The 4th 7inch, side-A GET TOGETHER' and side-B NON DARK RAIN', was released on April 11th this year in Japan and stayed on top for two weeks in one of the Japanese distribution chart. Incorporating old-school Hip Hop production techniques, thick drums and lo-fi bass programmings underpin piano and horn loops to create a unique sound on the release.

This powerhouse of raw and cutting edge music ultimately made them ahead of their time. ESG enjoyed success sharing stages with PiL and Gang Of Four and have been heavily sampled as many musicians including TLC, Wu-Tang Clan, Beastie Boys and Liars. A band-approved reissue of 'Step Off' will be released the same day with artwork from award nominated illustrator Hannah Alice, who recently gained critical praise for her work on the Bert Jansch reissue of Avocet'.

Razor-sharp production of the highest order from two of the masters of the early 80's Rio de Janeiro boogie sound, Robson Jorge and Lincoln Olivetti. Both were highly acclaimed music producers of the time, starting around the mid-70's. Over the course of his career Olivetti worked with artists including Rita Lee, Erasmo Carlos, Don Beto, Marcos Valle, Tim Maia, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Sandra Sa, Painel de Controle and many more. The album takes in mid-tempo, AOR, boogie and even latin all way through the tempo's to ultra-quick Prince style disco-funk workouts. Includes several standout tracks - 'Aleluia' and 'Ginga' being our two favourites. Synths, horns, claps, drum machines, guitars, keys and vocal harmonies combine effortlessly.

The third Yacht Trip brings the dancefloor even closer. - I Want Your Love perfectly fits to the first or last chapter of a partynight. D.S.E. stripped theoriginal 10 minutes track down to 5 minutes, compressing it to it's essential´message and moving mood. - Stay With Me and it's uptempo arrangement´sets you in motion from the first beat until the end. It invites everybody to come to or stay on the dancefloor having a good time.

Containing some of the best songs he's ever written, "Southern Nights" is Allen Toussaint's 1975 "swing for the fences" attempt at an all out masterpiece. Somewhat of a concept album, with reoccurring instrumental themes usually based on the title track popping up between songs, this album spawned at least two hits for other artists. The title track (minus the Lennonesque rotary speaker vocal effect) was a giant hit for Glen Campbell, and "What Do You Want The Girl To Do" was one of several singles on Boz Skaggs' 1976 gazillion seller "Silk Degrees" and also recorded with some success by Bonnie Raitt. On rust colored vinyl.

'3.33 am' is the debut EP from NYC songwriter and vocalist Amber Mark. The lead single taken from the seven-track EP, 'Lose My Cool', is a breezy, uptempo blend of future R&B and introspective lyricism. Spending her formative years travelling the world and imbibing music, art and culture alongside her mother, Amber Mark's artistry is a kaleidoscopic mix of influences. From the jazz, soul and Indian classical music she listened to at home to the hip-hop and downtempo electronica she soaked up along her travels, these influences are reflected on '3.33 am', a collection of songs that tell the story of the loss of her mother in 2015, as well as her resulting experiences of grief, acceptance and overcoming. Each track on the EP is formed around a stage of her grieving process, Isolation, questioning, sadness, overcoming, anger and regret... Those were my stages.' Despite the themes at the core of this EP, the music is fresh and filled with optimistic melody. I didn't want it to be this sad, depressing EP' said Amber, I wanted it to uplift people who had gone through it.' '3.33am' is entirely written and produced by Amber herself. At the top of 2016, Amber uploaded her debut song 'S P A C E', a track that Noisey called simultaneously insistent, fresh and classic'. Instantly storming Spotify's viral chart after a cosign from Zane Lowe, Amber signed with trend-making London label PMR Records (Jessie Ware, Disclosure, Jamie Woon) and is setting out to prove that her success was no fluke.

Candido Cameron was a Cuban percussion maestro who had played with luminaries such as Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Rich and Count Basie throughout his illustrious musical career which started in 1952. Fast forward to 1979 and Candido finds himself caught up in the Disco boom that had engulfed his adopted New York City. Feeling he could add his trademark quick-fire Conga and Bongo playing to Disco's straight 4 x 4 syncopated rhythm he cut some records with legendary NYC label Salsoul. The fruits of this partnership were 2 full length LP's and a handful of 12" singles that changed the face of underground Disco.

The first of these two LP's made for Salsoul was the truly epic "Dancin' & Prancin" containing the all time classic "Jingo" which has been sampled, edited, re-configured and coveted by too many names to mention! It's a killer funky Disco version of master Nigerian drummer Olatunji's 1969 percussion suite of the same name, Salsoul style. The LP also contains one of the deepest Disco records of all time; "Thousand Finger Man" a testament to Candido's percussion prowess and a spacey, beautiful voyage that has left more than an indelible mark on modern House music, often being cited as a huge influence by artists such as Masters At Work and more.

This new re issue contains all 4 tracks from the original LP plus this new expanded edition contains lost rarities and extended versions of "Jingo" and "Thousand Finger Man". All fully re mastered for 2015 and re released in conjunction with Salsoul.

Tedeschi Trucks Band, led by the husband-and-wife team of singer-guitarist Susan Tedeschi and guitar virtuoso Derek Trucks, have grown into one of the most deeply skilled and admired musical ensembles in the world. 2016 was the 12-piece juggernaut's most impressive and successful year to date. Live From The Fox Oakland captures the band performing at their best. From the opening notes of Don't Know What It Means' to the closing solo on Let Me Get By' the Tedeschi Trucks Band are firing on all cylinders.

For the 3rd volume in our New Directions In Funk 7' series we're keeping it close to our Brooklyn home with special versions of choice cuts from the recent Soul Clap and Midnight Magic albums. This release brings together two stand-out cuts on a collectible red/white marble blend 45 rpm 7', perfect for funky DJ sets. First up is "Synthesizer Girlfriend' from last year's self-titled Soul Clap album. This song features Miami diva Ntem on vocals and Detroit talk box maestro HazMat doing what he does best. On the flip side, Brooklyn based disco ensemble and Soul Clap Records regulars Midnight Magic keep the vibes flowing on 'Dark Thunder', a standout mid-tempo jam from their recent 'Free From Your Spell' LP

Jim Sharp is back again cooking up summer in the spring. On side A, the late great Nate Dogg comes solo over the Scorpio break mixed with the Boney M. disco smash Sunny and the results are OOOOOH WEEEE. On the B side, another party rocking break gets dissected. The theme for S.WA.T. gets broken down to it's freshest elements while Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal (Guru) kicks the conscious party rhymes. A double A side to rock the block party all summer.

NAUTILUS is a trio centered around drummer Toshiyuki Sasaki, formed in 2014 along with its Bassist Shigeki Umezawa and Keyboardist Daisuke Takeuchi.Their distinctive style, which can be summarized as the modern rare groove, embodies a mixture of jazz, funk, disco, soul and even hip hop. The conception of NAUTILUS is drawn not only from the composition 'Nautilus' written by Bob James, but also from an American submarine that actually existed, thus resembling their contemporary style that carries on the rare groove music of the 70s in an abyssal imagery. Sasaki's versatile, yet solid drumming combined with Umezawa's full- bodied, powerful bass and Takeuchi's classically-trained prowess produces an exceptional sound unique all on its own.

Gloria Ann Taylor, American singer and songwriter (sometimes arranger) from Selma, a small town of about 15,000 souls in Dallas County, Alabama. Soon she moves with her family in Minnesota where she grows up forming even musically. Extremely devoted person, she begins at a very young age to sing gospel, a music genre that she never leave for life. She was the first singer to open the way for female a cappella musical groups, to help form a rock band, the "Sweet Honey in the Rock" as well she contributed to the success of the singer Odetta. Just at that time - we are in the early Seventies - she married the composer, arranger and conductor Walter Whisenhunt, with whom she moved to Los Angeles where she wrote and performed several soul and funk songs that still today are much in demand by enthusiasts, fan and collectors worldwide. Her artistic career was very intense but unfortunately so very short as well as her marriage with W. Whisenhunt: A couple of great artists often forgotten by the media and even more neglected by the major record companies.

Anibus only managed to released this single exremely collable deep Spirutal funk 45 Bobby Hammiltons band and as the story always goes, the single didnt gain the movement they hopes and the bands went their seperate ways leaving this one amazing 7 inch repriduced here. Bobby is still alive and well so lets put things right and get things right and get this record on the turntable, a truly classy, deep and mindfull 45.

'astraea' is a prime example of the ambition on ephemerals' third album 'egg tooth', fusing together simple repetitive motifs à la Steve Reich in a constantly evolving and building mesh of sonic textures. The band are now moving forward with some hand-picked remixes to be released alongside the original on 12" Vinyl.

Laolu is fast becoming the go-to remixer in serious house circles with his incredible remix of Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra on Innervisions. Spanish producer beGun is known for an innate ability to create sublime heartfelt electronic music. His approach has seen him remix the likes of Bastille and given him a platform to regularly perform live across the globe.

Get ready for two brand-spanking new chapters in Perfect Toy's high octane, Down & Wired series of garage-mod-soul nuggets because the label has once again persuaded the man responsible for Volumes 1 and 2 - crate digger par excellence 'Chan The Man' - to unearth even more gems from his record collection!

The goodness kicks off with The Revival's virtually unknown, but irresistible, blues-funk head nodder I Chose To Sing The Blues followed by Take 5+2's stank slice of fuzz-heavy rnb, Motherless Child, originally (not to mention bizarrely) released on an EP handed out as a election promo giveaway for a man who later became mayor of Bonn - Hans Daniels of Germany's Conservative party, the CDU. Elsewhere, Heather Black delivers a blisteringly fast version of Third Avenue Blues Band's Come And Get It while The Turks provide an equally scorching take on Hendrix's Fire. The covers (and the treats) continue with teenage band The Aftermath's heavy take on Junior Wells' Messing With The Kid and Hunger's Brian Auger-ish Mind Machine. Babe Wallace mixes up English and Yiddish lyrics on big band rhythm & blues monster Dizengoff and there's yet another cover (easily the best one you've never heard) of Allen Toussaint's New Orleans funk classic Get Out Of My Life Woman by the Fabulous Impacts. There's also room for The Inn Crowd's super-rare harmonica-drenched groover Run Clarence Run and Friends' My Land which sandwiches two minutes of organ-led craziness between its deceptively mellow intro and outro. Towards the end of this epic double set comes yet another Hendrix cover - 49th Blue Streak's funked-up, fuzzed-up Foxy Lady and there's an appropriate closer in the form of George Brigman's hypnotic Drifting.

This is a super-hot collection of vintage rarities (accompanied by detailed liner notes and never-before-seen photos of the artists!) imbued with all the glorious imperfections of the golden age of the analogue era that artists now often strive so hard to recreate. Little surprise then that these cuts should sound so fresh today.

Producing under the moniker Isoul8, as well as teaming up with Domu under the Rima alias for the incredible jazz/fusion album 'This World', Volcov is a truly important player in the underground music scene.
Remixing artists such as Frankie Valentine, Azymuth & Taylor McFerrin, running his two labels Archive and Neroli, as well as DJing all over the World has given Volcov a rare knowledge of soul, funk, disco and deep house music; knowledge which is very apparent throughout this album.
'From The Archive' comprises a lovingly chosen collection of obscure Funk, Disco & Boogie tracks, alongside three very special edits produced by the man himself. From Chez Damier's sun-drenched remix of The Urban Crew's 'Go' to Bembe Segue's emotional 'Sun On My Back' via Shuya Okino's disco epic 'Still In Love', this record takes the listener on a joyful journey deep into Volcov's musical mind.

AK1215 features the very first press of two previously unreleased versions written by Frank Hooker and produced by Cory Robbins. This Feelin' was first released in 1981 on Panorama Records, YD-12197 and sampled in 1988 by Motor City Drum Ensemble. This version of This Feelin' features choice guitar scatting, phat moog bass lines and funk disco breaks!

Washington D.C-based Jim Bennett is probably known for his numerous contributions to the "go-go" sound during the early-to-mid 1980s. Before that, he was a mainstay of the D.C funk scene, right at the moment when "go-go" was beginning to become a fully codified style of its' own. "You Win Some You Lose Some" was recorded in 1981, and sounds like it was inspired, in part, by "E Flat Boogie", a 1980 proto-go-go funk jam from future scene legends Trouble (later known as Trouble Funk). The A-side "Part 1", which boasts chanted vocals, rubbery slap bass from Bennett and some seriously punchy horn work, is particularly potent. Both sides sound like a party in the studio that we're eavesdropping on, such is their excitable vibrancy.

1978 talk box funk recorded at DB Studios and issued for the first time from DC band Light Years, featuring Carl Kidd, Ernest Smith, Skip Pitts of Isaac Hayes Shaft fame, and others. Kidd often referenced the Cosmic funk genre in his group names and songs, and this production is no exception. A Cosmic Astro Disc release, the first release in a new series from Al & The Kidd.

A 1974 previously unreleased production by Carl Kidd and guitarist Skip Pitts of Isaac Hayes fame, "Powerline" is a full on funk session with Isaac Hayes collaborator and DC native Skip Pitts on vocals and guitar adding his famous wah wah licks. These Light Years sessions were recorded locally at DB Studios in March 1974. DC and Memphis at its best! Due April 2017. "Move To The Rear 3002" is a free soul session with Carl Kidd on vocals.

In 1978 D.C. based funk from Light Years recorded at DB Studios and issued for the first time from as with previous sessions featuring Carl Maxx Kidd, Ernest Smith, Skip Pitts on vocals, Charles Steptoe on drums and others. Light Years performed around DC during the summer of 1978 and featured lineups differed between live performances and studio recordings. AK1212 features Kidd, on lead vocals on the self-penned Do It To The Maxx (Kidd), and It's Up To You.

Michael Orr known best for co-writing "Put It On Paper" and having the song give Ann Nesby and Al Green a Grammy nomination. Orr also is currently being inducted into the W.Va. All Black Schools Hall Of Fame.
 
His two releases, "Love Will Rise" and "Spread Love" continually are reissued internationally. It's also worth noting that his song "Here I Go Through These Changes Again" was recorded by Johnnie Taylor.

Another release in the Cosmic Astro Disc series, Wonder Woman was written and recorded in 1983.  Afterwhile and Peace Of Mind (to be release at a future date on AL & The Kidd) were written and recorded in 1975.   The vibe for Wonder Woman was to acknowledge a Spiritual Love relationship, kind of like the symbolized message of Song of Solomon. Afterwhile is the peace and tranquility I feel from the ocean/beach as the waves fall upon the shore' says Orr.
