Hip-Hop Vinyl New Releases - News

DJ Day gives Marvin's über-classic the magic soulcal touch. Mad limited Japanese pressing that follows up his reowork of Badu's "Honey". Even better than Day's recent remixes for PUTS, Tittsworth & Incognito.

What started as a jam session project 12 years ago has turned into Germany's most prolific deep funk formation.

It's been six months since the last Moxie and spring seems like a good time for a new release. Spring means joy and so three very joyful, sexy cuts have made it to this release. Three more disco edits aimed directly at the dancefloor.

Nova Gain Records presents the best sounds in popular dance music. On this record you will find 4 tracks of hip-shaking ground-breaking soul, funk. hiphop and drum & bass
music produced in a modern style.

Florian Keller is working as a professional dj

the harder beats of the one (Funk), always with
some space for ideas and improvisation (Jazz).
Since 1991 he runs the Into Somethin' clubnight
in Munich.

Three years after their last double release, Timewarp inc make their comeback with the very fresh Groovy Booty. What is very intriguing is the more mature and evolved style that Timewarp inc have developed.

a new killer selection from the dclassics crew vault.... Another 4 tracks to die for in their rare original versions, gently and respectfully remastered for full jazz-dance-classics decerning dancefloor action..

AMAZING and much expected new albums from the french-est US artist (or the more american french artist...) . Fulled with grooviest funk soul and jazz tracks... For the headz as well as for the dancefloor... UNMISSABLE...

The fourth installment of the legendary Marulasoulfood series comes from Madrid-based Briton Roger 'Chip' Wickham, one third of Latin groovers Malena. "Feelin' Alright" is a rare groove stomper featuring Emma Ellis on the mic, Dominic Buckley on drums, Dan 'Bootsy' Broad on guitar, Morgan Pugh on bass and piano and of course the man himself on sax and flute.

The Undercover Brother debuts his new ensemble, his takeoff on the JBs. Victor is an old school producer, former member of Chocolate Bam Boo and Nubian Crackers (Cracker Beats), who also runs Dope Brother records for Kenny Dope. Here are 2 jazzy grooves for chillin' with some wine, or groovin' on a Sunday afternoon.

BSTRD Boots returns yet again with a trip to Brasil courtesy of LA-based DJ and Producer Yosaku, who recently turned heads with his remix of James Brown's "Aint it Funky" on the GAMM Doin' James 12" series

A collection of 11(!) early tracks done by Swedish super producer FREDDIE (RED ASTAIRE) CRUGER. Head noddin' abstract hip hop/downtempo instrumental tracks along with some uptempo breakbeat jazz cuts. While some cuts have a sample here and there these are not remixes. A DJ tool and EP. (HOMEGROWN)

Psychedelic spaz-jazz from Monsieur Blumenberg and Doktor Zoil on this limited
edition (500 only) heavyweight vinyl 7" from excellent Italian imprint Cinedelic.
Brilliantly produced, irresistibly kitsch grooves, bristling with energy.

From the man behind the dancefloor bizniz of JuJu Orchestra comes The
Bahama Soul Club. Oliver Belz certainly knows a thing or two about bossa
and the LP 'Rhythm is What Makes Jazz Jazz' is a corker. From the LP
comes this great remix 12" with Smoove and Lack of Afro taking two of the
best cuts and adding a British dancefloor flavour. LOA turns in yet another
deep production with oomph on the drums and requisite organ and bass
adding texture. The man has pure funk blood flowing through his viens.

Shhhh. The dirtiest disco secrets should stay that way. Leave 'em for the dark corners of the dance floor, the alleyway and taxi ride home, the drug-addled recesses of your next morning mind. On the Rvng of the Nrds Vol. 6 12', Jacques Renault escorts and edits three tracks with enough sleaze to shut down an Upper West Side bath house. Mr. Renault lazer tinges a cosmic rapper's delight, gets horn-y over some frolicking Rhodes and bass growls, and let's the guitar sling and high hats slush over a classic tuxedo strut. Go ahead, let your freak out. The secret stays safe with us.

The U-dog digs up another bone for the disco-nerds. The fact that they are often hidden in plain sight doesn't negate the wonderfully aged flavor they exude.

Runaway is a Williamsburg, Brooklyn-based duo comprised of minimal-techno auteur Marcos Cabral (he of Trapez fame) and disco gadabout Jacques Renault (Editions Disco).

FUNK A variety of mixes here with Can't Stop Moving

"FUNKY CHOCOLATE offshot. Dedicated to great obscure yet uncompromissing yet essential boogiebeat from the 70's and the 80's. A collection of hard to find soul, disco, funk and boogie records..... this time sellection comes from the likes of legendary KERRI CHANDLER, alonside DJ FUNKY CHOCOLATE

Last time we heard Bennson's "Whatever It Is" we got to feel the summer groove of the original and a bumpin' house remix by Soul Tornado. This time around Sonar Kollektiv signed producer Christian Prommer gets a good feel for the vocals and adds a heavy Detroit techno sound to it for all the heavier dance floors to get high on. This is a true killer track with crushed basslines and dubbed out vocals that can get even the purest men and women high on life!

How good is this~ Mr. Confuse shows his talent to build hard hittin' beats in a conscious hiphop style. Drop the needle for this funky beatmonster and a prancing piano hook with
classy sax stabs sure will infect you. Cool down on a massive horns break until the saxophone steps into a dirty chopped Public Enemy style. Flip for the slow burning funk groover 'Low Life'. Starting with some catchy stabs this souldchild turns into an echo from the past. Well balanced with some delicious brass parts and rare used effects this is a real
vintage style headnodder. Sample madness galore!

On the 008 Resense put again four songs by four artists, and again no filler in sight.
Sono Rhizmo' used the vocals of the Mo'Horizons hit "So Ma Guisée" and arranged it
with a reggae beat "excellent result. Mr. Bas Lexter continues in his very own style "
cut a long story short ! - and drops out his Bas Lexter hymn.

A2) The Bas Lexter Ensample - Bas Lexter's Rock
