This latest instalment of ARTHUR BAKER Presents DANCE MASTERS finds the production/ song-writing/ remixing maestro taking the spotlight for a long overdue snapshot of his own classic 12” mixes during a crucial evolution of dance music, club
and pop culture.

“I’ve always felt like I was on a mission to make music from the time I heard Motown, Philly and Sly and the Family Stone. My mission started as a hobby and still feels like one now. You’ve got to keep on pushing and hustling. It can be a drag sometimes but
if you really love what you’re doing, it’s worth the work. I still really love what I do.”

Arthur Baker helped codify the remixer as artist. His genre-fluid approach to projects
has resulted in a joyous myriad of classics that spans many decades. This ’80’s focused DANCE MASTERS collection offers a welcome glimpse at Baker’s illustrious career and many long out-of-print 12” versions and previously unavailable mixes.

This 35-track, six LP expanded edition includes a wide array of selections from the likes of Robbie Nevil’s “C’est La Vie,” Fleetwood Mac’s “Big Love,” Neneh Cherry’s “Buffalo Stance”, Jeffrey Osborne “Soweto”, Freeez “I.O.U”, Rockers Revenge “Walking On Sunshine” and of course the juggernaut “Planet Rock” with Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force.

Complete with in-depth liner notes by Bill Coleman, track by track notes written by Arthur Baker himself, previously unseen session photos from Arthur’s personal archives and a signed insert.

Dutch producer Lennart debuts on KopjeK Records’ second release with a 4-track electro EP called “Vitamin D”. It features three originals; the Italo and Trance infused club track called “Koalas March” is on the A-side, accompanied by the more dreamy “Vitamin D”. On the other side there is “I Don’t Know Your Life”, a more sentimental approach, which was made together with his partner in crime Lola. French producer Kendal, well known for his releases on Dischi Autunno, Moustache Records and Ritmo Fatale, is on remix duty. He took “I Don’t Know Your Life” for a more old school electro ride. The release came together in the first big lockdown in The Netherlands. The weird times of having to stay home and not being able to play gave Lennart the opportunity and inspiration to create this stellar EP. Early support comes from the likes of Biesmans, Tjade, DC Salas, Mouissie & Miimo.

Outside In is back in quick succession with number 3, this time from two artists close to home.

LVCA & Justin Pakzad combine for an EP for the first time, with a top remix from one of our favourites, German electro maestro - Christian Gleinser.

With a blend of new beat and techno influences over 4 tracks, this release highlights the artist’s versatility and capability to capture the essence of dance music while remaining very fresh. This year Santa put a special gift under the Christmas tree. The newborn Blind Spot label comes with a highly sought reissue of the house masterpiece released in 2001 by the italian trio Polythree.

Stick Around contains three club-ready stompers ready to burn any dancefloor and already played by great selectors in several festivals.
On the A-side, the Poker Did Da Dub Mix represents the essential clubby track with its pumping punchy beats and its groovy rhythm. Flip the record and enjoy two different mixes, the Night Breeze Mix and the New Wave Mix. Both tracks release a strong flavour of Italo-Disco with rolling drum patterns and uplifting synthetizers.

Scuba funk seems to be quite the sort after track which has got fair traction from Velasco's podcast on Spaced and also Theo Dher who helped evolve the situation with a YT upload. So here we are with a 4 track EP on a 180g vinyl, 300 ONLY and a few other under the radar tracks to seal the deal.
Night Demons, Sound Pictures and Chewing gum are all outstanding tracks in their own unique way and retrospective of the mid 2000's era, Enjoy.

Zobol’s ‘Mirage’ is A record reflecting on the miss-information flying around our planet these days. It makes you think, what is right, wrong, transparent and guised? What is real and what is deception?


The A-side begins with ‘No Disguise’ consisting of booming broken kick drums and elements of positively charged future funk. The A-side concludes with the gritty, dubbed out percussion and hazy melancholia of ‘Clarity’.


The flip-side opens with the title track, ‘Mirage’ bringing aspects of electro, funk, acid and braindance to the table. Dubbed out chords, mysterious arpeggios and scattered percussion laid over a funky bassline. The release is concluded with a remarkable remix of ‘Mirage’ from the one and only, Nullptr. Who reimagines the original, taking it in a darker but equally mysterious direction.

Producer Pantelis Theodoridis was introduced to us 10 years ago, when he and his band created the wonderful universe of Regressverbot, moving in minimal synth/post punk paths. Lately, under the alias Athens Computer Underground, he has been releasing compositions influenced by various electronic subcultures such as drum n bass, house and electro, introducing the acidic melodies of tb 303 as a central element of the instrumentation. Contrasting the well-polished computer music with the methodology and aesthetics of oldschool hardware sequencers and vintage synths, he creates a sound that evokes the underground moments of early acid house or the sound of labels like rephlex and breakin records.

His new 8-track album is titled To Filima (The kiss) after the eponymous poem by Maria Fili, which is included in the second track of the album and sets the tone for what to expect. Behind the d.i.y, grit-in-the-mix style production and distorted drum machines lies a divergent sensibility and upbeat yet elegiac instrumentals that make the album reminiscent of a melodic diary.

Tristan Da Cunha dons his Freakenstein alias and debuts on UTTU with a special split release! the Hot Haus Side shows show off his sought after House prowess before flipping over to the UTTU side for Freakenstein’s Electro flare to shine over 2 red-hot-elektro-werk-outs.

The light is at the end of the tunnel. The light is shining bright because of love. The love is the answer to the darkness + the remedy for the experience which might bring unclearness and letting drown in the metaphorical swamp which every single human has felt during the journey they are on. The EP by the Switzerland based mastermind Dan Piu is dedicated to the love and to the love only. The tracks that were produced from the artist’s creative inflow are from the year 1995 to our present days and are telling the story of hope and compassion. Starting from A side we have a demonstrative rollercoaster which is ‘Selfish War Machine’ gracing before the ‘Made in Japan’ which is inspired by the early arcade machines and the ethos they were bringing with them. Side B starts with seductive house number straight up from the year 1995, followed by Robotic tool ‘Robota’ and finishing off on the perfect and soul caressing track going by the name ‘Equinox of Ceres’. This precise body of work which has found its home with Sakskøbing is pure and direct message of love, in a way when things are seem bleak the light can be sparked again. The answer how this spark gets obtained is the four-letter word which is mentioned frequently in this text
