Like the parent label, Optimo Trax will release music by new artists and excavate forgotten classics.
Optimo Trax is an offshoot label of Optimo Music for tracks aimed at DJs/dancefloors. Yes, we know there are too many record labels already, but we felt an overriding desire to start another one as so much music that didn't seem quite right for Optimo Music (i.e. music that was specifically designed for dancing) kept coming our way. Like the parent label, Optimo Trax will release music by new artists and excavate forgotten classics.

Michele Mininni is from Southern Italy where he says people are not interested in his type of music so he was forced to reach out to Glasgow where it turns out some people most defintely are. Citing his influences as kraut, post rock, new wave and electronic amongst others, this is his debut release and most accomplished it is too. Lowering the tempo somewhat compared with previous OT releases, Tupolev Love is a sub 100bpm cosmic trancer while Telekomdisko raises the tempo and heads off into sun drenched space territory. The EP is completed by Michele's fellow countrymen, Boot & Tax's great acid-inflected remix of Tupolev Love.

Following their successfull release "SALINAS" (Pacha Recordings), Bedrud & Giese start through with another euphoric club-filler in their very own style of deep but pushing tech-house: "AFRICAN CHILD" (rotfenstermusik) stays to its name and lets african child choirs meet deep bass, fat percussions and a mincing piano above.
Remixes are from electro-freaky dusk till afterhour dawn :)

Fay expands the sonic palette from her debut "DIN" pushing elements of drone, no wave/post-punk and dub higher into the mix.
Two years after the release of her groundbreaking LP DIN, FAY re-emerges with her new exhilarating new masterwork Deathwatch. Treading many of the signature avant-pop and rough-and-tumble R&B tropes first heard on DIN, Deathwatch expands the sonic palette pushing elements of drone, no wave/post-punk, and dub higher into the mix.

For our 18th release we feature producer & DJ Alex Celler. Greek by right, but (as of 2004) a Londoner by choice he's causing a stir with his energetic and intense house sounds, full of swing, tribal rhythms & techy beats.

DJ MADSKILLZ REMIX BIG WITH RICHIE HAWTIN, LUCIANO, JORIS VOORN, DUBFIRE, GREGOR TRESHER, KAROTTE, BART SKILS.. With former releases on Trapez, Liebe Detail and Cadenza (with Michel Cleis), Salvatore Freda & Volta are about to become big news!

Very much unclassifiable house not/ techno/ not disco debut coming from recent NYC transplant, Bookworms. Blown out sample chops, synched up drum machines with those Barney's claps and outboard synths play throughout making these two jams more than interesting excursions into an intimate place that we just can't place our finger on still.

Alberto Tolo & Matthew Skud: "...in this ep we followed up our sound project that continues to evolve in the European underground trip, to complete this project and we finalized to make it took about a month, we have added almost all the material that we collected along our path. We hope that everything we offer is appreciated by all and we assure you that this will be a sequel. So stay tuned."

PINS AND NEEDLES are proud to present their latest release IVAN MASA & BROTHERS IN PROGRESS entitled PURA VIDA. This production trio has been successfully releasing their music on labels such as Quanticman Records, Draft, Escapism Musique and various others. Their latest work PURA VIDA includes two original tracks PURA VIDA and VOUS DANSER. The title track PURA VIDA is a tribal influenced Deep House production with a very addictive groove. The carefully arrange percussions, african influenced vocal snippets and groovy drum beat on top of a quirky baseline clearly define the trio's passion for House music. The second track VOUS DANSER is a more laid back House version with smooth synth sounds, catchy vocal parts, a funky baseline and a deep House beat that keeps you moving all night long. Overall both tracks are truly mastered for the dance floor and they surely won't disappoint anyone who is passionate about House music.
To round up this package we have an amazing line up of remixers for each track. PURA VIDA has been reinterpreted by one of Pins and Needle's favourite producers ANTHEA, known for her very successful releases on labels such as Desolat, Cecille, Tuning Spork and many others.
For VOUS DANSER label honcho PHILIPP ORT took the chance and finalises the package with a deep, groovy reinterpretation of the original mix.

Mr Raoul K kept this track a long time in his drawer. He always felt that something was missing. And he didn't want to put out a track he wasn't feeling comfortable with. During a visit of Kuniyuki in Mr Raoul K's studio, he played the track to him. After Kuniyuki proposed some new ideas, they decided to finish the track and release under their new alias Double K... They have come up with an atmospheric sixteen minute journey with constantly changing atmosphere. Starting off softly, almost tiptoe-ing 'Esprit De La Jungle' begins an expedition into the inner jungle. Accompanied by Kuniyuki's subtle flute and keyboards and graced with Wiltrud Weber's awesome vocals, the track provides constantly changes its mood and is full of surpises. Expect the unexpected after every turn. Mr Raoul K's beats blend in very slowly and do not take over until the very end. Close your eyes on the dancefloor and find yourself exploring the secrets of the unknown, feeling the real Esprit Of The Jungle....

Call it a new DJ Sprinkles album, call it a collection of his latest, most thrilling remixes - whatever you name it: - Queerifications & Ruins' is a close meeting of 14 tracks that will lift your spirits and you can do nothing about it!

They all bring different elements into a natural flow with DJ Sprinkles typical trippy sound signature: airy piano melodies, cool congas, echoed vocal samples, haunting chords, pounding basslines, some hidden melancholy, some poetic spoken words as well as soft beatless ambient parts for your relaxation.

Just recently Terre Thaemlitz - world-wide known and awarded writer, public speaker, multimedia producer, DJ, audio producer, and head honcho of the label Comatonse Recordings - released under his deep house alias DJ Sprinkles the mix cd - Where Dancefloors Stand Still' on Mule Musiq - a grooving house music critic on Japans strange fuzoku law that currently is threatening the Japanese clubs with a curfew.
